I have been coming here for about 6 years and they have always been just a delight to do business with and on top of that they are the BEST music shop within 200 miles! Seriously that deserves a whole different set of positive reviews.
Very different experience than any other pawn shop i have ever been too. Very friendly staff, helpful and knowledgeable.
We stopped here at 2:15 on a Saturday afternoon on our way back to Pagosa Springs from Durango. The place was closed! I was really surprised. That seems early to close on a day when a lot of people have free time and go shopping. My friend really wanted to stop here. He was looking to buy a rake.
this place has everything
friendly owners
nice assortment of stuff
even the covid 19 virus
if you wear a mask here you
are way out of line.
been here 5 or 6 times
im the only one who ive seen with a mask
lust another business in bayfield that could
care less about your health
outside of that this is a nice place
to shop.
Cool pawn shop knowledgeable staff, and they are fair on there prices.

super friendly staff with really good finds at great prices
An amazing thrift store where you can find really nice clothes and other treasures that have been handled by staff with care. Bella is so sweet every time I go in and makes sure customers are well taken care of!
good place
This place was a dump.

Great place , I get all my stuff there awesome Staff .
Cute store pack with tons of things.
Jimmy’s music was very nice store however seemed understaffed.
Good local music, guitar store
Had my mind set on buying a new piano keyboard and supporting this local music store in Durango and to know that the workers (maybe even the owners) don’t know how to treat their customers is very disappointing. When I walked in I wasn’t greeted, even after a few minutes I wasnt asked how I was doing or IF I NEEDED HELP FINDING ANYTHING. I know what you’re thinking “maybe he was busy” nooooo! Because there was another worker there and no one else was in the store. I wasn’t addressed or anything until I was about to leave. I know I’m an adult and maybe I should have just asked him myself but if I’m gonna spend a few hundred dollars at your store then I’d expect to be treated like it let alone be WELCOMED INTO THE STORE! But my question is why? Did I not looked like a serious buyer? Was it cause I was wearing a mask? Or was it cause I was brown? My questions are valid and justified through the actions of the workers. Sad to know that people are treated differently for whatever reason. Such a bad impression on the community and very disappointing experience.
Fine attention to detail. This man is a perfectionist. His guitars are beautiful and sound amazing. He also does an amazing job on finishing furniture.
9. Eepa’s Pizzeria
Address: 1248 Bayfield Pkwy Box 226, Bayfield, CO 81122 , Bayfield , Colorado , United States
Great food great atmosphere great staff! This is my favorite place in town. I highly recommend it high quality ingredients.
Solid pizza in a town that deserves it. New place with good energy. Figuring out the kinks–when they do they’ll be a 5 star addition to the Bay area
Good food, friendly staff. Think a ac would be helpful but overall can’t really complain
Eh
I love the Philly cheese steak sandwich (and pizza) but these guys can’t seem to open the door. If the signs says you open at 3 it really is the least you could do to OPEN AT 3!
I purchased something like 10 pizzas for pick up. (Not delivery or eat in) And they forced me to pay 20% gratuity even though I wasn’t waited on. They only have 10” pies and i waited over an hour and a half. Seems unethical to me! This place is a ripoff.
Editing since I can’t reply to your comment.
We (my family) are not tourists and have been local for a very very long time. Everyone knows gratuity is for wait staff. This is America, No other restaurant forces hidden fees onto customers just for purchasing food. Don’t believe me go to McDonalds! Raise prices is needed but don’t charge hidden fees because u think your entitled to a tip just for running a restaurant.
I just want to say I love the pizza but the price has gone up, to be honest I won’t go back and eat there again. It isn’t worth the high prices, I mean $26 dollars just for a pizza and bread sticks is crazy, it’s only a 10in pizza, a month ago it was less then $20 for that. I can get more for my money at Aj’s pizza and it’s right down the street. Not worth the price at all to go back, sorry…
10. Brenda’s Old West Cafe
Address: 271 N Mountain View Dr, Bayfield, CO 81122 , Bayfield , Colorado , United States
Cute country place, the green Chile sauce smothering the omelet was delicious
Very nice people, great food
Great home cooked food. Good service.
Only place to get breakfast in Bayfield
Good food, slow service. Not keto friendly
The service and food left a little to be desired the last couple trips. We stood at the door for some time before the 4 or 5 ladies in the back even looked at us. Then never offered menus for ordering. When we got the food it was cold and I was going to ask for it to be warmed but our waitress NEVER returned to the table. Our drinks remained empty then finally another lady dropped the expensive check and said.. Oh I’ll tell them it was cold.. And gave us a few boxes. My son and I were both bummed and the seasoning on even the chicken strips were so bland! Not the Brendas of the good ole days by any means. I doubt we will go back. I just can’t. Pay $14 bucks for not so great food that doesn’t even come with a salad or service anymore.
This place is horrible. Every time we go in there we walk out before we can order drinks, because we get ignored every time. We wont ever be going back, and the food is not that good which makes it really not worth it. When my husband addressed this issue he was blown off by one of the rude waitresses who obviously did not care. We had two toddlers with us its not like we were hard to spot. There’s more places popping up in Bayfield anyway I’d recommend trying literally anywhere else lol
That place is hit an miss sometimes very good an sometimes i wouldn’t feed it to my dog if i had a dog
11. The Billy Goat Saloon
Address: 39848 US-160, Bayfield, CO 81122 , Bayfield , Colorado , United States
A cozy and comfortable place to have beverages and a snack. The staff are friendly I’m well trained.
Fun
It’s a friendly small town bar but I couldn’t get a second beer. The bartender was too busy talking and joking with the regulars and after about 15 minutes of waiting I left. It was midday and not very busy, I won’t be going back there.
Liquor licenses need to be taken away. Serves already drunk customers and let’s them drive away.
The owner is a drunk and treats her customers very poorly it is truley a shame!!
12. Xylem Basses & Guitars
Address: 345 Rogers Ln, Durango, CO 81303 , Bayfield , Colorado , United States
I don’t trust anyone with my guitars except Anthony. He is honest, meticulous, and detail oriented. Anthony does great repair, set up, and wiring work. He is also an awesome custom bass and guitar builder. His pricing is more than fair and I cannot recommend Anthony at Xylem Basses and Guitars enough.
I’ve been the proud owner of a custom built Xylem guitar for close to ten years and I couldn’t be happier with it. This guitar is absolutely incredible! It plays great, sounds great, looks great, and the thing is built like a friggin’ tank! It even got knocked off a stand by someone at a show once, landed on the neck, and wasn’t even out of tune when I picked it up. This has been my main workhorse guitar ever since I took possession of it, and never once has it let me down.
Anthony is an incredibly talented builder and his customer service is unmatched. In the spirit of transparency I will mention that he is my brother, but I can tell you without a doubt that Anthony treats all his clients with same attentiveness and care no matter their relationship to him. He’s just that professional! I’ve had the pleasure of test driving many instruments that have left his shop, and they are all absolutely top notch. He will work on anything anyone brings in, and I’ve never seen anything leave his shop that didn’t meet or exceed the client’s expectations.
In 23 years of playing, I’ve come across very few instruments that have this caliber of craftsmanship put into them.
Not only are Anthony’s custom instruments in a class of their own, his repair and setup work is phenomenal too. Whether you just need a minor setup, a re-fret, or you want to make major modifications to an instrument, Anthony is your guy.
There are very few luthiers out there that have the talent and professionalism you will get from Anthony at Xylem Basses and Guitars.
I brought a guitar and a ukulele for repair. Anthony was extremely responsive, worked very quickly, and even took the time to educate me about how to replace the strings (weird on my guitar). 5 stars, definitely bringing any other repairs to him.
Very poor communicator and sub par builder. Instrument electronics failed. Expects some sort of payment for repairs and setups, due to lack of attention to his builds. Not another luthier on the planet that would expect this. Instrument build was not what was ordered and all in all a horrible experience. There are far better builders to get your needs done in a much more professional way especially for what he is charging. Not worth the money. Very unprofessional. In response, never was there such agreement and response from builder is fabricated. Builder became agressive and angry (on christmas day, while I was with family no less) because he refused to meet me to exchange guitar in which he was going to “work on”, then questioned the guitars state) Go elsewhere for your needs. I stand by my review. Builder simply was angry that I was unhappy with the guitar hence me selling it. Builder then blocked me on Social media simply because he was upset and refused to meet me half way for exchange. Again, Childish and not professional at all. I would NEVER buy this guitar back nor did I say such a thing. Just a unprofessional business all in all.
