These guys are great! I just bought a left handed guitar. They were very professional and gave great advice for care and maintenance. I would totally go back again for any service or music product I need!
Great store with a wonderful staff!
Great Staff!! Real nice crowd of guys.
Full of rare/vintage/collector’s items, but expensive. And definitely not the place to haggle. More of a novelty type place if you’re a casual musician instead of a collector.
cool music
Great little wheeln’ dealn’ music store. Have picked up some great used drum mics here. Not the greatest hours though, they close right at 5 everyday and closed on Sundays
I purchased a used acoustic guitar from this company and after only a few weeks I’ve had serious issues with the bridge, saddle, string tree, tuning pegs and the nuts for the guitar strap. Whatever repairs Wedgles Music made to this guitar before they put it out for sale were done with extremely low quality workmanship. It looks to me like they did whatever they had to do to get the guitar in a presentable condition and working just enough to get it out the door. I was even assured by the representatives that the guitar had been inspected and tested before being put out for sale and was told that it was basically as good as new which is why they were charging so much for a used guitar. Now my options are to purchase a brand new instrument or spend the equivalent of what I paid for the guitar in repairs. The customer service and the gentleman I worked with were OKAY, but I will would not recommend this shop to anyone. Here is a more detailed description of the issues: Bridge holes were worn out significantly and too big to hold bridge pins. As a result the pins slip out when tuning. The saddle that was installed was not fitted properly, and was extremely loose to the point that it falls out on its own. The screw holding the string guide (string tree) in place fell out after just a few days due to poor threading. The tuning pegs are not in great condition but are functional – I decided this was not a major issue and would replace myself upon inspection of the guitar before purchase but combined with all the other issues it becomes more significant. Lastly, even the pegs/nuts for the guitar strap came out. All of this happened in the course of a couple weeks which means that this guitar was probably never in great condition in the first place. In order to fix these issues and turn this into a useable instrument I would need to have a new bridge installed, a customized saddle and nut made and installed, new tuning pegs and a new hold drilled into headstock for string guide threading. If I were you I would not buy from these folks.
If Wedgles Music decides to take ownership of these issues it would be a different story, as I understand businesses can’t be perfect or get it right 100% of the time. But when I called and informed them there was no effort to even try to make this right.
Unfortunately I cannot recommend this shop to anyone as they have lost my trust.
When I want to drop several hundred dollars on my kids to have a variety of instruments, I cannot do it here. The staff found it more amusing to scold me over my kids, who touched nothing and were on their best behavior, then to let me browse their selection of rarer and certainly overpriced instruments. Why can’t these employees review their approach and be, I don’t know, FRIENDLY? I came to spend money, not be made to feel unwelcome because my kids are present. Over 17 years in Denver, and I walk away from this place angry and empty handed every time. It just hasn’t changed for the better. This is a “boys’ club” type of pawn shop, not to be taken seriously. I was not taken seriously or treated with any respect here.
The employees make you feel unwelcome. If you want people to buy your used stuff perhaps you should let them play it

Lodo Drum guy is the only place to get gear in Colorado. Always the best selection and a personalized service that doesn’t exist other places. Weather it’s for great used percussion equipment that’s always in top notch condition or for all of your backline needs when rolling through town; nobody comes close to what Pete can do in price and service. Highly recommended for all local bands, traveling musicians etc… you will not be disappointed.
This guy has a great selection! He’s very cool and knows his stuff! Thanks for the hookup and help!!
I just bought my first Drum kit from Lodo Drum Guy. The whole process has exceeded my greatest expectations.
It is very rare to find a business owner so intent on providing nothing less than the best product, service, experience and at a fair price to boot.
You will see me again. Thank you.
Great prices good gear, friendly guy, currently going through some growing pains in moving his shop out of his apartment so he’s pretty disorganized but he does his best to answer any questions you have
BEFORE YOU MAKE THE DRIVE:
This is a private drum shop that is by appointment only.
The number provided is a cellphone number, and he will text you/call you if he does not pick up.
This location is also his house.
Overall not very professional, but probably has some cool drums.

Louis is not only a brilliant musician, but also one who excells as an instructor. He has built excellent rapport with our daughter, who has taken lessons from him for 3 years. Because of Louis, she loves violin and is improving rapidly. He knows how to foster a relaxed atmosphere while encouracing technical challenge. We could not be more pleased with his instruction!
Louis is such an amazing teacher! My son’s musical talent and range has grown under Louis’s instruction. I appreciate that the lessons are fluid and that my son’s musical interests are the structure for every lesson. We rely on Louis for musical advice from classes at school to equipment. And above all else Louis has the best attitude and positive outlook you can tell instantly that he is doing what he loves and it’s contagious.

Mark is a true artist!!!! He does amazing work and you can trust him to work miracles on your equipment. Best shop around! Highly recommend!!!
I’ve had the pleasure of having Tenorio Werx do all the work on my guitars since moving here last year from. Virginia. I say pleasure because Mark takes his time, thoroughly explains everything in detail, and does not steer his customers toward anything unnecessary. He provides the highest level of customer service without question. He will receive all my business for as long as I’m in the area. Big or small issues with your guitars…give Tenorio Werx a call! You won’t regret it!
This is your go-to guitar tech! Super reliable, knowledgeable, and down to earth. Great and honest costumer service!
9. NoodlyGuitar LLC

Couldn’t recommend this more! Super fast service at a great price. Tom’s super knowledgeable and an all around great guy. I got my Les Paul cleaned and restrung and it looks better than ever!
Tom does fantastic work for a fair price. Great attention to detail, my guitar is playing great now!
Tom was able to set up my electric guitars (G&L and PRS) with similar action, change the strings, clean & polish the fret boards and set the intonation all for an amazingly low price. He’s an enthusiast and all about guitars! I would highly recommend his work – fast turn around time as well!
Wes is the best vinyl DJ for events in Denver.
Don’t believe me? Ask everyone at my wedding, well you can’t because they went home, but if you could, you should.
Every other minute, someone would come up to me and say, “This guy is the best DJ”.
I’ve been to a lot of weddings, and I’m usually not impressed by the DJ. Any of us can hit play on a playlist and pretend to move nobs and switches around. Wes was blending and mixing vinyl perfectly, keeping everyone dancing. Even the wallflowers were having a good time watching us dance, I think.
Hire Something Vinyl Club for your next event, you’re gonna like the way you look, I guarantee it.
We did not want a typical wedding band or dj at our wedding. When searching for a unique option, we found Something Vinyl Club. Wes was great to work with on the admin side! Shaun was our DJ on the wedding day and was an awesome partner to have as a part of the event! We found all the lead up calls to be successful, Shaun really listened to what we wanted. We did not want any cliche wedding music and he delivered. Our ceremony, cocktail hour, first dances, dinner and dancing were all well executed! Shaun was authentic, fun and our guests all enjoyed his presence!
Wes does any amazing job. He has a lot of experience with what he does and you should be ready for an excellent performance. Very happy we used Something Vinyl Club as our DJ for our wedding.
11. Colfax Guitar Shop
Address: 3220 E Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80206 , Denver , Colorado , United States
5/5, great customer service, super knowledgeable and patient with my questions. I brought my Stratocaster in for them to do some floating bridge setup tweaks and it feels better than ever.
Adding to this, these guys also repaired my acoustic after it dried out and cracked last winter. It sounds and similar to my other guitar I brought in, it now plays better than every. Really psyched. Great shop.
Thanks guys.
Got a large scratch/gash in the finish on my Martin 00018. Contacted multiple shops and could not find anyone that would fix it. Sent a request to Colfax Guitar Shop and Christian replied that they could help me. It was a long drive for me, but well worth it. People in the shop were friendly and very professional. They gave me an estimate for the work and a time frame. They called me well within the time frame and I picked up my guitar.
What a great job they did. Guitar looks fantastic! Thank you. Take your guitars here when you need work done.
Dave at Colfax guitars did an outstanding job on repairing/restoring my 1935 Martin OM 18 koa guitar.
He reset the neck, the-radius the fret board, did a re-fret, replaced and incorrect bridge that was not properly done with a correct Martin Bridge and repaired the old varnish footprint from the old bridge.
The guitar turned out excellent and took a guitar that was barely playable into a fine instrument that I won’t put down !!!
His communication was great every step of the way !!! Pictures included. Workmanship is superior and a grade above any other luthiers that have done work for me. It was worth the guitars trip from Florida to Denver to have him do the job on this vintage piece of Martin history.
I trusted him with this guitar …and it was a good decision and worth it and I would recommend him without hesitation.
Thank you Dave
Kevin
I had a 1900s Nashville. Looking for an appraisal. Bizarre experience
Great customer experience. Very pleased with my guitar setup. Price was reasonable.
very pleased with the set on my strat. dave’s owned the business for about a year and i am quite pleased with my first visit
Reached out to these folks based on other reviews that seemed like they could help me. Sent a message explaining and right away had said that I live over an hour away so I was trying to gauge if they could help since just walking in isn’t as easily done. Answer was “bring it in” exactly what I said was the challenge.
Probably would still go 3 stars but I point out “hey, right away said that was an issue… suppose I got my answer though” and just was a thumbs up emoji reply… So the combo of didn’t help and okay knowing they didn’t help really isn’t even a 3 in my book.
I thought this was an industry like skateshops where you were supposed to support the local/small one off guys? Realize I was presenting a challenge but hard to support independent shops if they kinda just don’t want to be bothered with your business…. No drama, apologized for “slow” reply but thought it was quite reasonable actually. Think just ultimately not the shop if you need someone to help hash out info before coming in.
Over charged for strings 30$ a pack 20$ for a capo horribly over priced would not suggest it.maybe they make custom made guitars not sure.
NO INTEGRITY! POOR WORK! DISHONEST! HIGH PRICES! THIS PLACE USED TO BE GREAT. THEY HAVE STUDENTS DOING POOR WORK AND INSTEAD OF MANAGEMENT OVERSEEING TO ENSURE QUALITY, THEY PRIORITIZE DEFLECTING AND DEFENDING THEIR SHODDY OUTPUT. DON’T BE FOOLED!
I PAID $270 TO HAVE THEM RETURN MY GUITAR TO ME WITH THE SAME PROBLEM IT HAD WHEN I DROPPED IT, PLUS A NEW PROBLEM! AND THEY DAMAGED MY FRETBOARD WITH SOME CARELESS FILING! I dropped a guitar, asking for a full fret level, I said I was okay with them replacing a saddle, replacing a nut, whatever they needed to do to park that action as low without any buzz! In other words, I was willing to pay for good work. The guy checking in my guitar told me he could probably lower a couple high frets and raise the action. I told him not to do that, I explained I could do that myself! I asked him to do a comprehensive fret level, saddle, nut, whatever was needed to make this thing right. 2 weeks later they call and tell me they raised the action, filed a couple frets and my guitar was ready to pick up? I asked him to do the thing I had initially asked for. So, a couple days later, they say it’s ready. It had the same buzz it had before, plus a new buzz that it didn’t have at all when I dropped it off! I brought it back and asked them to see if they could dial it in, fix those couple things… The manager spends the next 10 minutes arguing with me. He tells me my playing style is too aggressive. I play fingerpicked folk music. This guy never heard me “play” a note. I only thumbed a string a couple times to demonstrate a buzz. He both tried to tell me the undeniable buzzing was okay (and I should be happy with it) and also that it wouldn’t buzz if I played differently. Again, he has no idea how I play and fingerpicked folk is hardly aggressive. I explained that I am unhappy with the work. I just want these buzzes fixed, that I’d paid $270 and what I was promised hadn’t been delivered. In fact, I now have an additional buzz! He tells me we can just start ratcheting up the action and that I should sit there with him for an hour while “we” adjust the truss rod and play. I told him I can do that at home and that I had already adjusted the truss rod to try and eliminate the new buzzes and that I had the action HIGHER THAN IT WAS WHEN I INITIALLY BROUGHT IT IN but was still getting a buzz. So his best remedy was to help me achieve MORE BUZZES AND HIGHER ACTION than when I brought it in. He just kept talking about my “playing style” to deflect from their awful work. They did a horrible job (or didn’t do the job at all). They charged top dollar for it. Manager tried desperately to convince me it’s my fault. It would be like taking your car in for an alignment, they give it back and it’s pulling harder than it was when you dropped it off and they try and convince you that your “driving style” is the problem. You just need to crank the wheel to the left harder! It would have been nice to have them just go, “Oh, it’s still buzzing? Let’s see what we can do to fix it!” Rather than dive directly into arguing with me and trying to gaslight me into believing it’s my fault they suck. The only remedy that was offered was the one I could have done at home, for free, prior to ever having brought this thing in. I could have had the same (or better) result and kept $270 in my pocket. These guys are trash. It’s sad. I suspect if I’d asked them to work on my $5,000 guitar, they would have taken the job a little more seriously. But based on their poor work, and the arrogant, obnoxious attitude of the manager, I wouldn’t trust them to work on anything again. Sloppy.
12. Denver Violins Ltd
Address: BY APPOINTMENT, 1601 Arapahoe St Floor 16, Denver, CO 80202 , Denver , Colorado , United States
Hands down most knowledgeable and down to earth violin shop I’ve ever visited. Thanks for everything!
Evan and Eddy are fine makers whose expertise and integrity ensures that they have a great range of bows and instruments available, reasonably priced. I have worked with them both over many years and have also seen them working carefully with individual clients to ensure a great match between player and instrument or bow. Very highly recommended.
We received all the help we needed. They have high quality products at fair prices!
Why show up to the Sante Fe Art walk and snub people? We’re just all there to enjoy…
13. Wax Trax Records
Address: 638 E 13th Ave, Denver, CO 80203 , Denver , Colorado , United States
A great staff, the owner is wonderful and knows more about records then I’ll ever know. A perfect place to find the record that you’ve always been looking for
Amazing selection but you have to search which is all the fun. 16 albums found and brought to Boston!
Good music store
Nice record store in the Denver area. Larger selection of records than you would expect. They do have a separate building for used records. Only genre that really seemed lacking was the reggae selection.
I love visiting this store(s). Make sure to visit the used store and drug through the records before going and buying new vinyl. Employees are great!
But don’t dig through the new records on the bottom shelf… they don’t like that. Lol
This place is old!!! Went to sell some vinyl I had cuz I needed some cash. Dude that buys the records is rude as hell. I knew my stuff was old and really used and I would’ve respected him if had said just that but no he decides to go through my old box, I was trying to help by telling him what was in there but he was snappy and just wanted me to be quiet. He went through the whole box throwing my precious records back in the box like they were junk. I’m not sure how many he kept but I walked out with $8. Was not worth the attitude!!!
Called em to see if they had an album, they said they did but they don’t hold items but it’s a new release so they have a ton don’t sweat it. I drove an hour to get there and surprise they didn’t have it. But they were listening to a classic Fall record so, they’re cool right? No big deal, just a huge waste of my time. Next time I’ll order it online and have it mailed to me.
Hate in every aspect of the word
14. Recollect Records
Address: 1255 Delaware St, Denver, CO 80204 , Denver , Colorado , United States
Great staff, brought in a wish list my brother had made for Christmas and the guy working yesterday read through the whole list and then found four or five records right away. Great space, definitely will be back if I get into vinyl myself!
A really great shop. One of the best R&B sections of any record shop I’ve been to. Even the discount bins offer a great selection. The staff is very friendly and helpful. One of the best parts is you never know what you’re going to find. Last time I was in there, I found The Split Level’s lone album and Cat’s self titled album. Those are two records you don’t find very often. One thing I suggest is you have a good amount of money when you go. While everything is reasonably priced, your stack will add up quick with all the great stuff you’ll find!
Awesome store! Great selection and good vibes!!
Very well curated selection of soul/funk/jazz. Slightly high on pricing, but they have many hard to find records.
High prices yet decent selection
Great “hidden” spot for deep cut vinyl. I wanted to find some regular releases and that’s really not what they do, which is totally fine. They seem to specialize in hard to find pressings and DJ issues and singles. Great spot for serious collectors.
Update your hours on Google / your website.
Went during their normal business hours as listed on their site, google maps, and apple maps. Store was not open. Just update your hours for the public to know.
15. URBAN ARTS MUSIC
Address: 635 N Williams St, Denver, CO 80218 , Denver , Colorado , United States
I received great service buying a drum set on clearance. One of the drummer sales reps also helped me find an obscure bolt for my bass drum pedal.
Good
Always a pleasure doing business at this location. I’ve been shopping there for years. Patient, knowledgeable and overall friendly staff!
Great selection
Very good place for musicians
I really like the store for what it is. Nothing really amazing about service or nothing really bad, im pretty happy with this store!
I have never in my life written a bad review for any business until today.
My issue with this particular Guitar Center has to do with the lack of communication.
The services I was seeking were simple, a pickup and control ( that I was supplying ) to be swapped in my Tagima TW 55 plus a bridge upgrade that I would purchase from Guitar Center. The gentleman waiting on me was very nice but was having difficulties with the computer system which resulted in me repeating my order several times. Finally, another associate arrived to help so I repeated my order again. Still having computer issues so the manager comes over and straightens my order and logs it in.
Before leaving, I make certain that all our i’s has been dotted and all t’s crossed and I was reassure they were.
About 10 minutes later I receive a call from Guitar Center saying I’ll need to order a bridge off line for fastest possible service or return and order one from thier store.
I went back, gathered my property and have no intentions of ever going back.
I visited that store for questions about a music instructor and I need to buy a set of drums as well and I needed help on wish brand could be better for me but then when I asked one of the employees he just answer I can’t help you. I don’t think that even if he was busy they was the best answer to a new consumer
Their customer service sucks.
18. Twist & Shout Records
Address: 2508 E Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80206 , Denver , Colorado , United States
Twist & Shout has one of the most comprehensive collections of vinyl, CD, DVDs, books, clothing and assorted merch that I’ve ever seen in one store. You could literally browse for the better part of a day and need to come back another time to finish thumbing through everything. Lots of new and used vinyl with some very interesting discoveries. Whatever genre of music or video you’re into, you’ll probably find what you’re looking for – and more – at Twist & Shout Records.
Tons and tons of records and CDs as well as movies and pop culture memorabilia such as pins and Funko pop figures. Huge variety of music, with many common and obscure releases.
Great selection of different music genres.
The hip hop section seems to fluctuate. It used to be giant. One day it was as though it was cut in half and then that half now seems to be quartered. I also wish there were more hip hop, reggae, and jazz tees to choose from. With that being said, it’s one of Denver’s iconic stores (with gag gifts galore).
Not very nice people who check yhe stuff you want to sell
Definitely don’t go. Really terrible customer service. Prices are 3x what they are elsewhere on almost every record I checked out. Spoke to 3 different employees while I was there, one of which appeared to be a manager, and all were very rude to me. There’s another record store down the street, I suggest going there.
Most of the sealed records are like a couple hundred dollars.
Quite a Ripoff!! Gave them vinyl Willie Nelson, Glen Miller-dual album, Johnny Cash, etc… They gave me $1 for each album. Don’t go there plus they are very over priced. My albums will sell for $12-15 each now.
19. Sollohub School of Music
Address: 1660 Gilpin St, Denver, CO 80218 , Denver , Colorado , United States
Michael Isabell has been the best guitar instructor that I have ever had. He has taught me everything from gypsy jazz to rock to classical and I will forever be in debt to him for the skills he taught me! The Sollohub School of Music is the best Denver, hands down!!
I can’t say enough good things about Sollohub School of Music! After a 12 year hiatus, I picked up playing guitar again about ten years ago. When I restarted, I barely remembered my power chords. I’ve been with Jeff and Sollohub Music School since 2009. My playing has developed and matured in ways I would have never imagined eight years ago. All thanks to Jeff Sollohub and his outstanding school of music.
I took voice lessons with Phoenix, who is a fantastic teacher and a very sweet person. I loved my experience in voice lessons, especially since it’s been 10+ years since I’ve been to a lesson! Totally worth trying out and learning something new!
20. Flipside Music
Address: 2231 S Platte River Dr, Denver, CO 80223 , Denver , Colorado , United States
Best selection of pedals I have seen in my life. Also a dog, so bonus points.
Do not let the small size of this store mislead you. Incredible selection of instruments, pedals, and strings. It was like the spice girls tour van in spice world going in. You will never go to guitar center again after going here. Support businesses that deserve to be supported. Couldn’t be happier with my new guitar.
Did some work on an old guitar for me. Reasonably priced and was done 5 days sooner than I expected it. Thanks Nick!
Good inventory for a small place.
This store is one of Denver’s hidden gems! I walked in looking for a bass pre-amp… These guys blew me away with their knowledge and friendlyness. They definitely know their stuff. I’d recommend flip side to any bassist or guitarist for any needs except repairs( I don’t know if they do repairs, I didn’t ask, as I already have a guy for that…).
First Visit. Nice small shop, great pedal selection and some nice guitar brands (Reverend, G&L among others). Really friendly folks.
Overly expensive and also lots of homeless people hanging outside on the street near by. It’s a dump.
