Great staff. Helped me find exactly what I didn’t know existed. I came in with a problem, they promptly guided me to the perfect solution. Its tricky to find, the entrance is in the back of the building. You’re welcome.
The staff is very knowledgeable. They have degrees in percussion and music. They have a fantastic selection of med-high end product in store and any accessory you would want or need. They also offer lessons at about a buck a minute.
So much gratitude I have for this place! They spent about 2 hours getting some FANTASTIC tones on my kit, putting new resonant heads on, and debating setup plans. If you need anything, they have you covered! And check out this beautiful 5 octave marimba! Lovely stuff! Big thanks to Pete, Josh, and Danny for their attention today!
Amazing customer service and fantastic instructors. Absolutely the first choice for anyone who is interested in learning percussion.
2. Denver Percussion
Address: 7399 S Tucson Way Ste B-2, Centennial, CO 80112 , Dove Valley , Colorado , United States
I recently purchased a Dream Bliss 22″ Ride. Great Cymbal, excellent service and fantastic people. Denver Percussion is Top Shelf!
Just bought my son some drums from them today. I learned more about instruments in an hour than I have in years. Super nice people and will answer any questions you have. They offer payment plans, rent to own, private lessons. One stop shop! Worked with Ben, Josh, and Pete. Great guys!
worked with the owner on purchasing a snare drum, turns out he went to school in my neck of the woods, knows a few of the same cats as I do. (small world)…Anyhow, I wasn’t sure on the look of the item I wanted so he took photos, texted them to me, did everything he needed to do in order to make me feel good about the purchase. And on top of that,. he had the best price around. Great shop, great service, 5 out of 5 stars, would highly recommend
Unprofessional staff. You’re better off going to guitar center and that’s just sad.
I used to like this store.. but they ordered the wrong size snare head…and worse, they took two days to get back to me.. not shopping here ever again.
Order took many months to complete. Pete the owner was condescending and unwelcoming. He truly cares more about money than anything else. They are overpriced and would recommend just buying gear online.
3. Music & Arts
Address: 8475 S Yosemite St Suite B, Lone Tree, CO 80124 , Dove Valley , Colorado , United States
Nice little store.. knowledgeable and friendly.. As a novice to this, I was impressed. I will definitely do business here.
Nice people and 1000x quicker than guitar center
I Love this store. Thank you Jamie for the awesome attitude to customers and music!
Very limited options. Good for beginner or any starter . Cheaper instruments and cheap music stand. Not recommended for intermediate or professional needs :/
Good selection of musical gear, instruments, some sheet music, and other necessities. The rental prices are high – the markup on their instruments is, too- but overall it’s a good store with a friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Your one stop shop whether you want to buy or rent or repair musical instruments. They have friendly staff with reliable service and they do have branches at many places in Colorado
I rented a trumpet for my daughter and as I was returning it, one of the workers said that I could get a hundred dollars credit for a different instrument. I told her that I would wait until my kids were out of school so they could pick which instrument they wanted. Last Thursday, I went in with my kids to return the trumpet and find a new instrument. I gave the trumpet to the man at the cashier, expecting him to complete the process with the credit opportunity. Without a word, he returned the trumpet without mentioning the credit opportunity. When I asked about it, he said “Sorry I already returned it. I can’t do anything about it.” This employee scammed me, and his response was a pathetic excuse of an apology. I am incredibly disappointed. If I could give zero stars, I would.
Very poor experience with lessons. Tried to cancel lessons because we were traveling for the holidays. We missed 3 of 4 lessons before they called and asked why we weren’t coming. We had originally planned on continuing our lessons, but after multiple refusals to work with us (saying “you signed the contract and there’s nothing we can do”) by staff and manager, that’s not going to happen. I wasn’t expecting much as they are technically correct – we did sign, but didn’t understand the auto renewal policy. They can do better, and should.
Purchased a viola starter pack at a school rental night. Was told it would be delivered to the school within a few days. It is now more than a month later and my kid never got the starter pack. To top it off the customer service line does not answer the phone. I sent an email to see if I could get it resolved and the same day I got a random $30 charge on my credit card. This has been a very frustrating experience and my daughter still has no viola pack!
Great store. AJ is very knowledgeable and always very helpful.
This place is a music lover’s dream. The drum/percussion staff in particular were fantastic to work with, and very knowledgeable.
Excellent
My fav hangout!
Great warranties , they always repair my music equipment fast.
It’s a corporate chain store but they do have the goods. I mostly shop local at prosound lately. Find an independent music store if you can.
Haggling is the name of the game, if you pay full price you’re doing it wrong at guitar center. They even tried to sharpie on a fake limited edition number on a guitar and “couldn’t find” the certificate of authenticity or a serial number when I asked. I’ve been visiting this specific store for almost 20 years with no changes over that time.
Got my Jackson restrung at this Guitar Center about a week ago, took it back in today as there was a slight vibration in my two low strings. Somehow, the guy took this chunk out of the paint when he was adjusting the truss rod . How does this even happen?? I take meticulous care of my equipment and now I have to look at this unsightly gash that will probably spread over time. Extremely dissapointed and very angry. Just because it’s not a thousand dollar guitar doesn’t mean you still shouldn’t care for it the same.
Be weary of taking your nice equipment here if you want it to stay nice….
Store layout is good. Prices not horrible. Customer service is awful. Walked in to the drum section at 130pm. Still havent seen anyone for help in over 30 minutes. Theres always a ton of employees but they seem to never be helping customers…
I purchased the Serum RED preset pack and love it. I am a huge fan of Deadmau5 and always have tried to recreate his sounds. I would consider Ryan a professional sound designer, and I am grateful that he released this pack full of sounds I have only attempted to recreate. I would highly recommend anything Ryan does!
Ryan is one of the few guys I’ve come across online who is able to deconstruct and reverse engineer some of the biggest electronic artists around. All in the box too which is really impressive. His new preset pack is high quality. I totally recommend it.
I really enjoy my teacher, Mr. Evan. He teaches brass instruments and he’s helped me in many different ways musically. I also like that most of the teachers have a degree in music in order to teach. I highly recommend this music school.
Excellent service, friendly office staff and well qualified teachers of every instrument!
As a teacher, I thought this place was wonderful! I was able to go from 2 students to having 5 full days of students in no time. I really appreciate Wendy’s kindness and the understanding that she shows to everyone. The love in the CMI building is palpable. I would highly recommend this school to anyone
Great teachers at a great environment.
Teachers rotate often, so it is difficult for kids to build a connection.
This overall has been a positive experience for my daughter. Wish they guided you more to explore more than one discipline. And the price increase was not favorable but the quality of the teacher my daughter sees must be worth it!
This place is great if you have the right teacher, I would have loved to give it a higher review. We’ve had so many issues with communication, our teacher not showing up and just lack-luster lessons in general. My son was supposed to perform at one of their recitals accompanied by his teacher and the instructor left him high and dry even after we told him what time we would be performing, that we would be rescheduling lessons because of sports and a whole host of other things. Very dissatisfied with their lack of timeliness, lack of efficient communication between instructors and the rest of the staff setting up their schedule. Pulled my son out after he said it stopped being fun because he was let down by his teacher one too many times.
so many reasons, first we went there after No seeing a special offer on fb which said first month will be $35 off… (before you judge- i am a student with kids, and every penny counts) which we never got even after following up the next month on this. only answer they gave was, will get back to you after talking to manager.
then they have weird policies. You cannot discontinue with them if you are not calling them before 15th of the month. Even if you are moving out of town. I am being given an option to take makeups which do not work. Other option is I can gift to someone, really?
Their make ups dont work cause the teacher is very busy, I have two makes ups and so far but only 15 minutes have been given as an extra beyond the 30 mins regular class. I have followed up with teacher multiple times and surrendered after that.
Edited to add on 7/24
1. I never threatened your staff that i would leave bad review. I said I didn’t have good experience and i am unhappy about it. Perhaps you understood correctly that I will leave a bad review, which you were so right.
2. The free class was a trial class which you should not boast around here.
3. your facebook ad never said that it won’t be combined with referral. Your staff was supposed to get to me after checking with manager, which never happened.
4 . what about the never given make up classes i am unhappy about and following up with teacher since april? do you have s story to tell on that too, if not please come up with one. let the public know how good a storyteller you guys are.
5. I never checked with my friend if he got $25, perhaps I should check that too.
6. what about considering a special request coz I have to move out pretty soon from here. How can we take these make ups considering 45 mins of 2 make ups are pending since april and may after multiple follow ups.
take it with a pich if salt and improve on points where you can inprove rather than attacking me with false allegations.
Let me preface this by saying everything noted here is a personal experience and your mileage may vary, clearly this is not a regular occurrence as their reviews are traditionally positive. Onto my situation; I had an instructor assigned named Quentin for learning Cello as an adult beginner. We did four lessons together, following I missed an appointment due to a family emergency. I apologized and told the instructor they could have the payment as if I attended (I was very distracted and didn’t notify Quentin that day). However I was ghosted from my instructor (we communicated via SMS) and I felt this situation wasn’t handled professionally. So I forfeit the rest of my paid lessons and stopped lessons. I may try another Cello instructor in the future, if successful I will change my review.
Cloud 9 Strings played at my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and did a beautiful job. Ana and the team were very flexible and accommodating, especially when I requested new songs for them to learn. Thank you to the musicians for making my wedding so beautiful!
11. A Musician Is…
Address: 9360 Teddy Ln STE 102, Lone Tree, CO 80124 , Dove Valley , Colorado , United States
Nicole is an amazing instructor; not only is she incredibly knowledgeable but she genuinely cares about each individual student who walks in her door. She’s dedicated, professional, passionate, and kind. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for violin instruction.
Nicole has been a wonderful and patient teacher. As an adult learner with several setbacks this year, she has been wonderful in helping me learn at a good pace. I really appreciate that she also gives good feedback and helps you to learn to understand techniques and how to fix your errors when you’re not in the studio. She has also been wonderful in helping me take the perfectionism out of learning to play, which I am truly grateful for. I highly recommend her for violin, especially for adult learners like myself.
Nicole played at my wedding and was so kind and courteous, her music is truly inspiring and beautiful to hear. I could not have chosen a better person to share my special day with. Her prices were reasonable and her repertoire of songs was impressive, she truly wanted to make our experience special and she 100% did! Thank you for being awesome!!!
12. Elevated Music Center
Address: 6955 S York St #418, Centennial, CO 80122 , Dove Valley , Colorado , United States
Best experience! From talking to the Owner Joe Office manager and getting a first time virtual lesson from Lauren Teacher. Everyone went above and beyond to getting me set up for Ukulele Lessons. I strongly suggest you check out Elevated Music Center Centennial CO 80122 for your music supplies, books, lessons. Located in a very cute and relaxed location on Commons, Southglenn mall. ❤️
Joe took a look at my broken amp for free. Gave me several suggestions and referrals. You can tell he really cares, not just for his customers but for music, which I really respect. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. 100% recommended!
Joe opened his store on Sunday to let us check out his saxophones. Great experience, trust worthy advice
13. Flipside Music
Address: 2231 S Platte River Dr, Denver, CO 80223 , Dove Valley , Colorado , United States
Ike and Dylan are awesome – I’ve been frequenting this store for a while and it get’s better every time I go in. No sales pressure and they just love talking music. Huge selection of pedals (both new and used – basic Boss pedals up to Strymon) as well as a good selection of guitars/amps for the beginner up to the touring pro. Plan on stopping in for 15 minutes and you’ll be walking out an hour later wishing you had more time. Great shop!
Came in for a setup and extremely happy with the results of Sam’s magic. Great price too. Awesome team all around, with the best pedal selection in general.
Great prices, great people, welcoming atmosphere. Are you sure you guys are a music store?
I’ve always wanted a store that didn’t act like I was bothering them. Found these guys by accident while trying to buy a cable online. While checking shipping I saw they were in Denver and found out they’re even close to my house?
They’re super nice, attentive, and helpful, their prices are what you’ll get on the web, they have a huge arsenal of all things pedal related and it looks like they might do repair and lessons? It seems I have found my new store!
Keep up the great work guys!
Great place
First Visit. Nice small shop, great pedal selection and some nice guitar brands (Reverend, G&L among others). Really friendly folks.
This store is one of Denver’s hidden gems! I walked in looking for a bass pre-amp… These guys blew me away with their knowledge and friendlyness. They definitely know their stuff. I’d recommend flip side to any bassist or guitarist for any needs except repairs( I don’t know if they do repairs, I didn’t ask, as I already have a guy for that…).
Overly expensive and also lots of homeless people hanging outside on the street near by. It’s a dump.
Nick is the absolute best at what he does. My band has worked with him for awhile now and he always listens to our vision and offers the best suggestions!
Nick has a phenomenal ear for music. I’ve tried several studios around Denver and Rusty Sun consistently puts out the biggest, most full sounds. He’s not afraid to tell you when you’re off-key, off-time, or lackluster, which always results in a better sounding song. I definitely recommend Rusty Sun!
16. Michael Scott Drum Lessons
Address: 17901 E Peakview Pl, Aurora, CO 80016 , Dove Valley , Colorado , United States
Michael is a great teacher/friend! He’s not too fast when you don’t understand something or you don’t understand how to do something, he’ll go over it with you. I’ve been with him for over a year now and he will not give up on you! No matter what! He’s the best teacher there is!!
Great drummer and even better person! He really engages my son and has improved his abilities and confidence.
Our 11-year-old daughter has been taking drum lessons from Mike for nearly a year. He is a great teacher who gets his students excited about learning how to play, challenges them but not outside of their ability, and provides encouragement and positive reinforcement in a fun learning environment. He genuinely cares and helps his students realize their full potential as drummers. He is an outstanding musician and we are lucky to have found such an amazing teacher for our daughter!
17. Music Workshop
Address: 350 S Paddock St, Elizabeth, CO 80107 , Dove Valley , Colorado , United States
I’ve been coming to Flesher-Hinton since I was young and they have always been a reliable store to buy all of the music things. Now that I’m a music teacher, I always recommend that my students come here. They are kind, reasonable, and always helpful. Thank you, Flesher-Hinton! Music education in Denver is so grateful for you!
Great store for band instruments. Still own a clarinet I bought from them over 25 years ago.
Great customer support and service. Since I only needed guitar strings I thought my visit would be a simple walk-in, get strings, pay, and walk out… But the sales person turned out to be not only very personable and pleasant, but could tell me more than I ever knew about strings from manufacturer to the kinds of metal used in production…
I can only imagine how much help the staff can offer to customers who need assistance with any kind of purchase.
I truly believe that a customer can trust the folks at this small but excellent music store.
There’s parking at the new location. Really reasonably priced supplies. Not the best selection for buying instruments though. Since their relocation, seems they’re putting more emphasis on instrument repair. Still probably the best music supply shop in the area
The people employees are professional, knowledgeable, and ready to help!
As with any store like this, you can expect them to be salesmen, though they don’t push too hard and don’t avoid helping you find the lowest priced items.
The technicians are great, but I wish they had a bit more enthusiasm.
If you are testing out brass instruments or such, the practice room they put me in had too much reverb to get accurate samples, even with a recording device. I have yet to ask if they had a more acoustically dry room.
They can order sheet music and products, and have all the basics and many accessories for band musicians.
Like always the services people were just great.
Went in to check out acoustic guitars earlier today. Got an important call as I was about to tune a guitar I was checking out and the guy behind the counter just starts blowing into some sort of wind instrument seemingly deliberately because taking a quick phone call. So I hung up the guitar and just walked out.
But the guy who welcomed me when I walked in seemed nice.
Just terrible experience! Purchased a new wood clarinet 5 months ago. Found out it was cracking, unfortunately happens if not taken care of, but not in the first 5 months.
Took 2+ months to fix, when we finally picked it up, some old guy in the store started telling my 16 year old daughter about keeping it greased every six months- lecturing her because it was so dried out! Finally stepped in and told him…we bought it here less than 5 months ago…in other words, you sold an old dried out clarinet for $2000.00. Will never ever step foot in this store again d/t the service dept.
19. Drum City-Guitar Land
Address: 9225 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 , Dove Valley , Colorado , United States
I stopped by this store on my way to the Wheat Ridge carnation festival and I am glad I did. I wasn’t really looking to buy anything at the time but regardless the store owner was friendly and helpful. It was clear to me he is a dedicated store owner who has worked hard to keep a family store tradition honorable. There was a large selection of guitars / drums, etc. I will be back when I am in need of music equipment. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Best experience I’ve ever had when purchasing a guitar! Every person there treats you like family and their prices and selection are excellent. Not even a hint of the usual condescension I’ve gotten as a woman from some of the employees at the chain guitar stores – I wish I would’ve found these guys a long time ago.
Nice music equipment… But very expensive
They had a decent selection of items, but the store was a little claustrophobia inducing. The staff were helpful/friendly enough.
Shopping here since I was a kid. Lot of history in this lil’ place. Professional though.
Bought a Schecter Tempest custom which was “supposed” to come with American made Seymour Duncan pickups. After I purchased the guitar they emailed me saying there was an “issue” with my pickups, and that they needed to be replaced. Yeah; they replaced them alright…with Duncan Disigned pickups…..scumbags.
Have and never will do business with again! BUYER BEWARE!!!!
I’m a beginner so I went in looking for the ibanez bass guitar starter pack. Everything went smoothly (other than when I asked them for any begginers advice they have and was ignored twice) and I was happy until I got home and pulled it out of the box to start playing. That’s when I realized the bass to amp cable was missing. So I called them and they got me a new after I had to drive back to the store. Got home again, hooked up the bass to the amp, then realized I needed to tune it. The electronic tuner it was supposed to come with was missing. I decided I need to take a full inventory. I didn’t think this was necessary because of this stores great reputation. It was also missing the shoulder strap. I had to drive back one more to return the item. Upon returning, they blamed the manufacturer and never offered anything to make up for the lost time, gas money, and frustration I experienced. I decided not to leave this review as I continued my search for my first bass set up. I found a nice bass but now i needed an amp. So after a week, I called them to give them another chance (on black friday) and asked them if there was any deal they can give me since they already gave me the run around once and if I drive all the way to 44th I want it to be worth it. The response was that his cheapest amps start at $100. I am now deciding to leave this review in hopes of 1. Improving their customer service 2. Making a begginers buyer beware as i felt like I was treated poorly compared to the other customers who weren’t begginers. Their reviews say friendly but I felt no friendliness during my whole experience 3. If u purchase from here, check that they don’t rip u off by making a full inventory before leaving the premises.
I came in a few times for a cocktail drum purchase and didn’t find prices that fit my budget (which is fine, it was nice equipment and they’re a used store!). I came back to try and trade things in for accessories instead (bass pedal/Hi-Hat stand) but the trade in value was changed when I got there if I didn’t buy multiple items. Again fair enough, it’s a used shop and they need to make money.
I came yesterday to grab a floor Tom ring and Tim was pretty short with me a bit immature saying “Hey, we finally sold you something!” tried to upsell me on a bass drum head for my new kick and when I was said goodbye, he ignored me while walking away.
I truly do not like to write these messages or send negativity to a used music shop as I had been apart of one for a very long time but if you can’t find me what I’m looking for at a price that is in my range: do not make it my problem and make me feel unwanted. I sent an email addressed to Tim specifically to remedy the situation and I haven’t heard anything back. So I’m writing it here to not treat others this way.
Everyone needs to make money but jeez, don’t run your customers out when they finally find something that works for them with you.
Mary has been a wonderful piano teacher for our two children. She is patient and knowledgeable, and has a way of gently correcting the kids so that they have simply a very positive experience playing and learning the piano. It is quite a pleasure to learn the piano with Mary!
I am an adult beginner going on my 3rd month of lessons. Mary has been a great teacher who not only works on the basics of playing the piano but also provides background information related to the classical music pieces that I am learning.
