It’s a cool place, sometimes when they’re understaffed and a lot of people you won’t get help or check you out fast, which I get it. Friendly staff and knowledgable.
Where else are you going to go for High-end Gibson, Fender, Marshall, Taylor and Martin. I always work with Alan. None better.
I really love this place
That’s why I have spend thousands of dollars at there on equipment, I will continue to do so ,customer service is super , keep it up guys
Hope this helps people.
You can usually get assistance in regards to seeing an instrument you may want to purchase fairly quick.
I use to dj at parties, but i use to get needles 4 my turntable and alot of other thing that are part of being a dj for.
Lots of gear, busy most of the times.
It took 50 minutes for them to help me then when I finally got to talk to someone he said “give me five minutes” and that five minutes turned into 30 minutes. the whole time they are helping customers that just barley came in and i’m standing waiting to get any service. what am i supposed to do to get customer service? demand they help me instant and make a scene?
BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, NEEDS IMPROVEMENT
Absolutely lowest level of customer service I have ever experienced . I would never recommend this store to anybody. Unfortunately for GC because of their poor sales staff they lost a sale. $$$$
2. Wild West Guitars
Address: 2840 E Foothill Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107 , East Pasadena , California , United States
Glenn and the team at Wild West Guitars are outstanding! They made the process of buying a guitar online easy. He answered all of my questions and the shipping was fast! I highly recommend Wildwest Guitars. They are at the top of my list for my next guitar purchase.
Wild West Guitars is AWESOME! Doug Diamond was a huge help to me getting my new PRS! Gave me a great deal on a trade in! Very helpful! Working with him was by far the best guitar store experience ever! (Especially considering I’m in Iowa…) Will definitely be shopping here again!
THANK YOU WILD WEST GUITARS!!
This is the certainly among one of the best shops in the world. Super friendly staff, one of the best selection of instruments, and the shop, along with it’s Voodoo Lounge, would be an attraction by itself. This place made most of my guitar-related dreams come true.
Real cool shop for high end gear. This was my first visit at this location. Interesting gear and very knowledgeable staff.
This small unassuming office park location hides an impressive selection of custom guitars and basses. Bring your black card, custom is not cheap. On the other hand these are the nicest group of guitar nuts you will find on the east side of Los Angeles.
I went here on Thursday at 10:30 am, but it wasn’t open…. I don’t know why.
Garbage seller not to be trusted
They “suggest appointments” and totally ignored me standing in showroom for over 15 mins. I came home and bought a guitar online. Tried to support local business but they don’t care i guess.
3. Gio SHOP
Address: 241 S Rosemead Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107 , East Pasadena , California , United States
Still a wonderful store even in it’s newer location.
I love going to the only surviving sheet music store in Pasadena. As a piano teacher I constantly need books for students. But lately I can’t find the books I need at Bertrand’s. The music stacks get thinner and thinner. Even the standard repetoire like Keith Snell “Essential Piano Music” is in short supply. Please keep at least the books that sell in stock so I am not forced onto to Amazon with everyone else. I want to support my local business but you make it hard when you keep shorting the stock. Thank you, -Larry Evans, local piano teacher
Excellent personalized music store with some good deals on Yamaha guitars and also a wonderful selection of quality Ukelales!
Very helpful staff. They had everything I needed for my cello!
Terrible over the phone service, had to jump hoops via an automated answering machine, just to ask a question
5. The Pie Studios
Address: 2888 E Walnut St #8, Pasadena, CA 91107 , East Pasadena , California , United States
Staff friendly and helpful, and some really cool vintage equipment. Pasadena is the perfect place if you don’t want to make the trek to LA to record music. Easy and convenient.
Over all, great vibe and great gear.
Have been coming here since 2014 to record and I can’t recommend it enough. I have seen the studio grow in the last four years and have also witnessed how owners Nels, Jeff, and Mickey have gotten better in their trade as engineers. If you’re lucky Nels might even take you to his favorite Indian restaurant.
6. Keyboard Concepts
Address: 3704 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107 , East Pasadena , California , United States
My partner and I went in to look
At Yamaha pianos and the sale representative was very nice and helpful not pushy didn’t follow us around the store allowed us to play the pianos . Answered all
Our questions seemed very knowledgeable on the products !
Michael, the sales representative that greeted us was great. He provided in depth information on the pianos we inquired about and helped us reach a decision on our next piano.
Michael was willing to take the time to answer every single one of my questions. He was extremely knowledgeable about all of the pianos and keyboards here. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a piano.
Very helping and knowledgeable stuff.
Hermoso lugar
7. Poo-Bah Record Shop
Address: 2636 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107 , East Pasadena , California , United States
Haven’t been here in years!!! Loved it back in the day, LOVE IT STILL!!! VINYL PARADISE!!!!!!
I remember walking into their shop when it was in a house off of Walnut, I bought my first LP there and was introduced to great music thanks in part to my mom. You can’t possibly walk into this store intent upon purchasing one item, unless you’re getting stickers — good luck buying just one — and not walk out with good music in hand. Forget all the fad shops just now jumping on the vinyl wagon, PB had been doing it for over 20 years, go here you won’t regret it.
最爱的淘旧黑胶的地方
Poo-Bah is a delightfully low key record store- it’s a little ways from Old Town Pasadena ( head east on Colorado Blvd away from the generic sprawl of Banana Republic and Cheesecake Factory) and enjoy discovering this hidden gem… It’s not a huge store, but their turnover is really surprisingly good… Recently I unearthed a superb near mint original first pressing of Miles Davis ‘Live Evil’ and the price was decent- nothing is overpriced here- unlike a certain vinyl and cd ‘mega’ store in H-wood..;)
Check these guys out- its a great spot!
Meh…just not like the olden golden days…I guess old
Never opened
I have had so many bad experiences with this store either in person or on the phone. Not sure if everyone who works there is a rude condescending d-bag, but the two dimwits working on Monday, March the 4th around 3 pm are definitely lacking in any customer service skills.
I called to ask a question and the guy who answered the phone did not even let me finish answering my question before he mumbled “No” and hung up on me. I called back to complain and supposedly some other guy answered. It sounded like the same guy, but he denied it, and said I was being rude for complaining about the “other guy.” Then he hung up on me. Totally clueless.
That’s not how you treat people if want them to buy records in your store. If you are rude to your customers, they will stop shopping there and you will go out of business. That’s how that works. There’s another record store just down the street that isn’t dirty, doesn’t stink, and the employees are very pleasant and professional
Update your sites! You haven’t been open the two times I’ve been to your store. Sign’s down and iron gates with no notice. What gives??
This place is currently closed.
8. Groovin’ On Music
Address: 2398 E Foothill Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107 , East Pasadena , California , United States
I am the manager for LA Fitness, and also a musician. I didn’t know that I had a music store in my shopping center. I had to replace strings for my mandolin. They replaced the strings, and communicated with me to let me know when they finished. This music store is a hidden gem in Arcadia. They even give music lessons
attitude.
No one picks up the phone. I tried over different time of the year and no one ever picks up. Hard to find out if they are open before going there.
Hours posted on their website say open 11am-8pm on a Monday but they are closed and it’s only 6:30pm. Previous experiences here have been pleasant.
为什么我去了两次,都不开门?不知道从哪里进,打电话也不接?
10. Pasadena Music Academy
Address: 2982 E Colorado Blvd Unit 111, Pasadena, CA 91107 , East Pasadena , California , United States
My daughter loves attending PMA. Her piano instructor Spencer Klass has demonstrated nothing but patience and optimism, which greatly helps her self-esteem.
PMA has been great for my 4 year old. He loves learning the animal adventures music curriculum. PMA gave him a free lesson to try an instrument to see if he liked it. They are very thoughtful and accommodating.
We love, love PMA! My daughter and I have been taking lessons at PMA for years. Beyond being professional, all of our teachers, Kay, Maria, Alejandra, and Ulf (band, vocal, and drums) are fun, thoughtful, and easy to work with. We highly recommend PMA!
PMA is well-organized, allowing for easy scheduling and rescheduling. My kid really enjoys her lessons and is inspired to practice at home all on her own. I appreciate the follow-up communication after each lesson.
11. Los Angeles Classical Guitars
Address: 1341 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91106 , East Pasadena , California , United States
I emailed LACG late last night because a student competing in CA on Friday broke a string and the replacement on his contrabasse.
I got a response back FIRST thing in the morning with nothing but ways to help, even offering to restring the contrabasse at the competition!
Totally impressed!
Always friendly and attentive service.
I cannot say enough good things about Los Angeles Classical Guitar. They were highly responsive to both email and phone inquiries and gave me fantastic customer service. After a very bad experience at another classical guitar store, Billy and LA Classical Guitar were a breath of fresh air.
12. Fantastic Musical Instruments
Address: 789 E Washington Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91104 , East Pasadena , California , United States
I have been looking for a good left handed upright bass for a good price but I found something better instead I found a great upright bass with amazing string and a pickup for a price I never could have even imagined, I was so happy to be referred to this store, I recommend everyone should come to the store even if you don’t play an instrument just come check it out
My 10th grader is going to be starting bass this year at school and though we found an instrument for them there were some other things we needed and of course we waited until the last minute. Luckily FMI had everything that we needed in stock and on top of that we got some instrument basic education and a lot of newbie tips and tricks that are going to make things so much easier for all of us. All of this value even came after I received a phone call to confirm I had read the reply to my online questions. An incredibly excellent experience and customer service. 10/10 would recommend.
Tom is so honest and is also probably the nicest luthier on the planet, and the shop has so many beautiful basses (and cellos and violins). He can fix any bass!
It’s a good place for a good deal. Nice people.
A bit over priced for on-hand string instrument selection.
Great store
13. Sing Young Music World Co
Address: 1130 S Baldwin Ave, Arcadia, CA 91007 , East Pasadena , California , United States
The kids loved their piano lessons with James. The environment was friendly and conducive to learning. The most impressive aspect was the kids simply loved playing; in fact, they didn’t want to stop. James made it easy and fun for the young kids.
James is a wonderful teacher. Both my boys enjoy the class and learn a lot. He have a lot of patience and love music. I know my kids aren’t that easy but he knows how to maneuver around that and make the class fun for them.
15. Hollywood Arts Academy
Address: 2844 E Foothill Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107 , East Pasadena , California , United States
Leonard is an awesome curator and restorer of fine pianos and his wonderful showroom should definitely be on your list to visit if you’re interested in buying or renting a piano.
I purchased an Artesia A20 electric piano on 04/26/2019. They suggested I avoid taking the floor model & delivery charges by taking one in a box. When I opened it, there were parts missing and NO INSTRUCTIONS how to put it together! The website says to “Do Not Contact the Seller” but call the manufacturer, which I did. They mailed the parts to me, but again there were no instructions on how to assemble it. It is now almost 2 weeks and the piano is still sitting in pieces on my living room floor. I finally called the store and paid their warehouse technician $50 to come and put the piano together.
Based off of the menu and some reviews i was hoping for a higher standard in quality of there ingredients but sadly we enjoy Dominos much more. If you are looking for high end pizza this is not the location for you, sorry
17. Best Buy
Address: 3415 E Foothill Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107 , East Pasadena , California , United States
Nicely maintained with an auto repair section. Plenty of parking
I like this place, occasionally, a real deal that’s good
Excellent experience. The technician knew what she was doing was very patient and polite overall enjoyable experience especially since I came in with a dead machine and left with it working. highly recommended
Fine
Great customer service
Good electronics for a decent price
Ripoff pricing
Vista was OK in the past I found employees more helpful. Felt like I was at a home Depot were employee hide when you need help..
Bought a used monitor that came with the wrong cords. I assumed returns department checked everything people returned functioned properly before putting out for display again… guess not.
I bought my Dusty Springs Ravenna harp from Harp in LA in the Fall of 2021, and I couldn’t be more happy with the entire experience. I shopped over a dozen harp dealers and were disappointed about harp varieties and the dealers’ lack of service and communication.
Harp in LA was perfect from beginning to end. The owner was very helpful and responsive, which I particularly appreciated being a new harpist and walked me through my options once I got to the beautiful studio. He played several harps for me to hear the differences and talked in detail with me about the features.
I ready have an itch to trade in for a bigger harp!
Harp In LA is simply the best! Paul and Heidi are fantastic to work with. Whether you’re getting started on your ‘harp journey’ or a seasoned professional, they treat you with caring and respect. Fantastic inventory of harps to purchase and also harps for rent.
These harps are as pacifically Atlantic as it gets
Fantastic instruction on the harp, support, sales, rentals, great concerts! Celtic harps, lever harps, pedal harps! Everything you need for the harp! Carolyn is the best!
