For those who think Flesher Hinton Music is no longer serving the public with their wide selection of music services and supplies, I have some great news for you! They are still in business in Wheat Ridge on 44th Avenue near Harlan Street. If they don’t have what you need in stock, they will go the extra mile to find what you need. Check them out and discover for yourself how they can fulfill your musical needs.
Truly wonderful experience on first visit to Flesher Hinton. Needed stop-in repair assistance with my child’s flute. Received immediate assistance from Barry who not only fixed the issue but also checked over the instrument and adjusted a couple other unknown-to-me issues as well. An amazing experience with this place for a repair and would unreservedly recommend based on it.
Excellent staff! Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful when I went in looking for a clarinet! Reasonable prices! Thanks for the help!
The people employees are professional, knowledgeable, and ready to help!
As with any store like this, you can expect them to be salesmen, though they don’t push too hard and don’t avoid helping you find the lowest priced items.
The technicians are great, but I wish they had a bit more enthusiasm.
If you are testing out brass instruments or such, the practice room they put me in had too much reverb to get accurate samples, even with a recording device. I have yet to ask if they had a more acoustically dry room.
They can order sheet music and products, and have all the basics and many accessories for band musicians.
There’s parking at the new location. Really reasonably priced supplies. Not the best selection for buying instruments though. Since their relocation, seems they’re putting more emphasis on instrument repair. Still probably the best music supply shop in the area
Like always the services people were just great.
Went in to check out acoustic guitars earlier today. Got an important call as I was about to tune a guitar I was checking out and the guy behind the counter just starts blowing into some sort of wind instrument seemingly deliberately because taking a quick phone call. So I hung up the guitar and just walked out.
But the guy who welcomed me when I walked in seemed nice.
Just terrible experience! Purchased a new wood clarinet 5 months ago. Found out it was cracking, unfortunately happens if not taken care of, but not in the first 5 months.
Took 2+ months to fix, when we finally picked it up, some old guy in the store started telling my 16 year old daughter about keeping it greased every six months- lecturing her because it was so dried out! Finally stepped in and told him…we bought it here less than 5 months ago…in other words, you sold an old dried out clarinet for $2000.00. Will never ever step foot in this store again d/t the service dept.
These guys are simply the best. My whole family has been shopping here for many years.
Ross Lawson does fantastic fret work! I’ve been %100 satisfied with the work he’s done.
Simply the best musical equipment store there is.
The best
They had a decent selection of items, but the store was a little claustrophobia inducing. The staff were helpful/friendly enough.
Cool selection.
Inquired over the phone (45 min drive) on needing 2x Iron Cobra Wooden Beaters. “Got them for you” was his response. Fight traffic to get there, buy product and trustingly got back in car. Upon inspection in parking lot, one is labeled CB90W (correct), the other CB90F (wrong). Stems are different and neither comes with weights. Looking closer the wood is shaped differently, different sizes and completely different types of wood. Just paid for two “new” Wooden Beaters that weigh differently and have different bounce properties. This place will lie just to make a dollar. Never going back.
I purchased a guitar from this company for my husband, it was a 7 string Schecter Omen which was something he had been wanting for quite some time so I purchased it as a surprise gift for him. He used the guitar once and the next time he went to play it wasn’t working. We took it to a company that fixes guitars and they informed us that it was a used guitar.. I paid full price for a guitar that was not only USED but BROKE immediately after purchase!! If you’re in the market for a guitar I highly suggest that you search elsewhere. Drum City is not a reliable place to purchase from
I came in a few times for a cocktail drum purchase and didn’t find prices that fit my budget (which is fine, it was nice equipment and they’re a used store!). I came back to try and trade things in for accessories instead (bass pedal/Hi-Hat stand) but the trade in value was changed when I got there if I didn’t buy multiple items. Again fair enough, it’s a used shop and they need to make money.
I came yesterday to grab a floor Tom ring and Tim was pretty short with me a bit immature saying “Hey, we finally sold you something!” tried to upsell me on a bass drum head for my new kick and when I was said goodbye, he ignored me while walking away.
I truly do not like to write these messages or send negativity to a used music shop as I had been apart of one for a very long time but if you can’t find me what I’m looking for at a price that is in my range: do not make it my problem and make me feel unwanted. I sent an email addressed to Tim specifically to remedy the situation and I haven’t heard anything back. So I’m writing it here to not treat others this way.
Everyone needs to make money but jeez, don’t run your customers out when they finally find something that works for them with you.
Keith Hicks is a class act capable of playing (and learning) songs ranging from sweet wedding covers to energetic originals that will keep your guests wanting more. Most importantly his communication throughout the process is top notch and his day of show coordination was smooth and easy. I look forward to working with Keith and any band members he brings at another event.
Keith is so down to earth, and was fun to work with. We had a lot of specific requests for music and he was willing to accommodate us. He hit it out of the park and is an all around great musician.
My wife and I have worked with Keith on two occasions. He played our engagement party and our wedding. This man can play anything in the world and does it with precision, grace, and delivering exactly what you want. He is an all around great guy and has an extensive setlist. He can play solo or with his band, and can add on any type of musician that you want. It is truly a pleasure working with him and we will be doing it again and again in the future!! He is a great communicator and is very detail oriented. I would highly recommend working with Keith for any occasion, he sounds absolutely amazing live!

The BEST!! Matt has an amazing teaching style for adults looking to learn or improve on an instrument. If any friends of mine in the Denver area express interest in music lessons, I refer them straight to Matt. He’s an expert musician and teacher in over a dozen instruments.
I picked up the violin in my mid-twenties with zero prior knowledge of the instrument and very little musical training of any kind. Within a year of taking lessons with Matt I was playing confidently, reading music, exploring different styles, and learning bits of music theory. I’ve now been taking lessons with him on and off for 6 years. He knows exactly how to coach me towards specific goals that I have set for myself on the violin.
Most importantly, as an adult music student with a full time job and busy life, he understands that practice can’t always come first (not that that’s an excuse to not practice!!). He is patient and picks back up where we left off, and tells you how to fit in at-home practice depending on whether you have 20 minutes a week or an hour a day. Something I’ve always appreciated about him.
Last but certainly not least, SUCH a lovely guy!
8. Alexander Tzankow Fine Violins
Address: 1991 Glen Ayr Dr, Lakewood, CO 80215 , Edgewater , Colorado , United States
Incredible craftsmanship and true care of the instruments! Wouldn’t want to take my instrument elsewhere
Alexander responded very quickly to my inquiry, and took my violin for repairs the next day. His calm and empathetic demeanor showed me I left my violin in the right hands. The repairs done to my violin were perfect! Thank you, Alexander.
9. Rockley Music Center
Address: 4880 N Robb St #1, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 , Edgewater , Colorado , United States
They handled my piano with professionalism and care.
I’m thrilled with my recent purchase from Rockley. The experience from setting the appointment, to viewing and playing the pianos, to processing the transaction was smooth and professional. Even the DELIVERY was impressive. Sonny and the other two men on his team expertly and efficiently maneuvered my new piano into place. I appreciated their respect for my home and their reverence of my newly-acquired and cherished possession. (They even polished it before leaving!)
My experience with Rockley was absolutely fantastic. Chris was a pleasure to work with and a great guy. I would not hesitate to work with him and Rockley again and I would highly recommend them to others. Thank you Chris for all that you do!
this is the closest music store to my house. What a shame, because I wont go there ever again. I wasn’t greeted when I walked through the door. I got a snobby attitude from pretty much everybody, and I had to greet the guy behind the counter because he was too busy playing his guitar. Anyway I went there for some finger tape and some guitar picks. What ever happened to 5 picks for a dollar? Here they charge $5.65 for 12. anyway they didn’t have the correct size finger tape for my violin.
Chris was very helpful when I was having issues with my piano. He promptly got a technician out to my house. At first he did not discover the real issue with the piano, so it took some prompting on my part to get the technician to return and take a closer look at the piano. (This is the reason why I gave this review only four out of five stars) But after the technician came out again and took a closer look, he discovered the soundboard issue and Chris promptly ordered me a replacement piano. He also made sure to look it over himself personally to see to it that I was getting a very good replacement, better than my original piano. After it has been tuned, the piano is sounding beautiful and I am very appreciative to Chris for all of his extra effort in making me a happy musician once again. Thank you Chris and Rockleys.
Staff were friendly courteous and knowledgeable
Open by appointment only, hard to find, only has orchestral strings and pianos
What has been a wonderful neighborhood store has failed to change with the times. It is sad for me to see. What once was an enthusiastic staff, happy to great you and offer assistance have become sullen and inattentive. I have heard staff and even management blame it on the internet and Guitar Center. Guitar Center didn’t lure me in. Rockley Music Drove me there.
In this review,I am only referring to the guitar department.
Rockley Music has a great selection of sheet music and high-end instruments. They also have some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced any where.
Scott performed at my brothers funeral service yesterday. First after mass and then at the Littleton Cemetery. It was magical. I can’t recommend this wonderful bagpiper highly enough. His years of experience and hard work really show in his performance. He was very professional and supportive during this sad time. Thank you ,Scott. For making my brother’s wish come true….it meant alot to me and my family.
Excellent! Could not have ask for more. On time, played great, and was very flexible with the wedding party.
These guys are incredible!! I’ve already been to 3+ shows and can’t wait to catch another. The Barton Brothers are professional, talented, and oh-so-fun. If you want to be dancing and singing the night away to classic tunes, hire them for your event. Seriously. Do it.
Love these guys! They put on a great show!
Very talented
12. Aspen Wedding Guitarist
Address: 2240 Jay St #1061, Edgewater, CO 80214 , Edgewater , Colorado , United States
As a wedding planner, we are always looking for wonderful, professional, talented musicians for our clients. We worked with Mike for a winter wedding ceremony in Aspen and he blew us away! He is supremely talented and was willing to learn the very special songs requested by the bride & groom. We would absolutely recommend Mike in the future and are thrilled to have found him!
As an event planner in the Aspen/Roaring Fork Valley, I’m always delighted to refer Mike to clients. He is so easy to work with and plays music beautifully, setting the perfect scene for the ceremony or cocktail hour. He made it so simple to coordinate everything and could produce great sound, even in the middle of a meadow!
Mike was the guitarist at our wedding ceremony at the Prince of Peace in Aspen. He was perfect and was wonderfully able to translate some of our unique requests like Neil Young’s Harvest Moon and the Beach Boys. I would highly recommend him, he is professional, and a great musician. It was the perfect choice for our wedding!
13. Chain Reaction Records
Address: 8799 W Colfax Ave, Lakewood, CO 80215 , Edgewater , Colorado , United States
Excellent shop with a great selection of punk, metal, and adorable dudes at the counter!
Excellent selection of hard to find metal and punk…LP, CD and cassettes. Cool people. Fair prices. Recommend!
Good selection of punk, Oi!, metal, etc… Also cool selection of decks, trucks, wheels. Love to talk skateboarding & music!
Cool little record shop for crusty punks and headbangers
It was ok. Mostly oldies and it’s a pretty small shop, my only problem was that it wasn’t the most welcoming.
Great little neighborhood shop. Wide variety with a good mix of punk and metal. Great prices on used albums.
Was disappointed. This placed seemed amazing when I heard about it, but was let down. When you can find an employee they barely seems to want to be there or help instead they were just rocking out outside. Selection is subpar for being a specialty shop I couldn’t find anything I was looking for. Staff seemed annoyed when I asked questions. I probably won’t be back even though skating, and being a punk are my favorite activities.
I wish there was some kind of indication of the fact that this store only has like TWO genres of records to choose from
This is a nice small shop that has a small selection of used gear, the staff is friendly and the store is clean.
Quality gear at good second hand prices. I’ve been dealing with them for years and plan to for many more.
Gravity Music Gear is the best music and gear shop in Denver! All the guys are friendly, great to deal with, and they really know their stuff! I’d recommend them to anyone in the buying or selling market! Love this place!
Really didn’t’ have what I was looking for so I had to go to the guitar center they had pretty much everything
La atención es buena , pero no ay quien te atienda en español y les falta un técnico para probar el equipo que están vendiendo
Basic pawnshop/lower quality musical instruments with the occasional Gretsch or higher end guitar scattered about. Let down by the pedal selection and bass guitats, but impressed by the politeness of person working there.
No returns; all sales are final. They don’t warn you or even note it on your receipt.
Horrible people! Store and merchandise appears to have been carpet bombed! Don’t waste your time!!
Staff not to friendly with Mexican clients
16. Sati Coffee Co
Address: 5224 W 25th Ave, Edgewater, CO 80214 , Edgewater , Colorado , United States
This coffee shop makes fantastic lattes. Staff is always friendly as well.
Great local coffee shop with excellent coffee and wonderful service. It’s easy to become a regular.
Quick and easy
Cute coffee shop with plenty of table space for people who work. Nothing spectacular about the menu, but fair prices and a decent brew make it worth it if you are in the area.
Good independent shop deserves your business!
On their website it said they served Coda coffee only to find they were serving Jubilee Roasting company, I consider this false advertising, they should have updated their website. I ordered an iced coffee, and it was hands down the worst iced coffee I’ve ever ordered, super watery, and coffee tasted more like old burnt expresso than coffee. This was my first time so maybe they messed up their blend but it wasn’t a great first experience to say the least.
Would rule of they stirred syrup into the icdd drink for you. 1st drink was pure syrup. Gross! Cinnamon didnt even get mixed in. Just stuck in a pocket on the side.
Don’t go here if you’re trying to be healthy by reducing sugar consumption. I got a dirty matcha latte and it might as well have been a Starbucks drink because it was so sweet. They use carton sweetened non-dairy milks and the matcha is sweetened. Gross. Also no vegan food options except for a chocolate chip cookie.
17. Crescendo Fine Audio
Address: 6760 W 38th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 , Edgewater , Colorado , United States
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, they stayed open late for me
when I got caught in traffic driving there, and arrived a bit after
closing time. Very nice collection of equipment on display. I’m
thoroughly enjoying the Pono Player I purchased. Thanks!
Friendly staff, resonable prices. Enough unique options to find something for you
If you have any questions about your audio equipment, if you want a great deal and service; you owe it to yourself to stop in Crescendo’s. They won’t disappoint!
They sold me used junk that didn’t last one year.
I’m updating this review because after two years my attempts at ordering a $8K worth of gear, that I could simply get online, have failed. They take my information and never get back to me and were overly condescending last time I asked them a few simple questions. The homeless drunks and paint huffers on Broadway are more polite than these entitled wannabe tastemakers. Avoid at all costs if you actually want to buy anything or be treated like a human being.
I’m updating this review again because they chose to reply and be dishonest. I was there, it’s two guys-always the same two guys. They lost out big time on sales and it’s 100% absolutely true that I gave them my info twice and they never got back to me. They took it on a post it note both times, my guess is they trashed it. Maybe they’re racist, maybe they’re on drugs, maybe they’re just not good dudes. None of that matters, because the bottom line is they’re lying in their response and I know it. Maybe they’re too intoxicated by the smell of their own farts to realize it, however I do not lie. They do. End of story.
Hey Crescendo guys, stop slandering me and own up to your sub par treatment. I actually recommended your store to an attorney who I work with when I first visited because I thought it was pretty cool, then I pedaled back after not ever being responded to after my info was given twice. If you’d like to hash this out face to face let me know, otherwise owning up to your error and apologizing on this platform will suffice.
18. Conway Sound
Address: 6390 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 , Edgewater , Colorado , United States
This is the number one place to record music in Colorado. Rocky Tran is a beast behind the boards. The environment will truly bring the best out of any artist. #NDE #PlayamadeSalute
Thank You Conway studio for the wonderful recording session. It was my first time being in professional booth in a very long time and your staff was extremely welcoming and put me at ease. The fixed any technical issues quickly and like the pros they are. I was impressed with how well I able to do my Demo with the help of my voice coach being patched in via Skype. I hope to do more work with you guys in the future because it was definitely a great experience
Everyone was awesome especially Cody Fertig my daughter is only 12 she was picked by them at IPOP I highly recommend them very creative
It’s a chill place to record a good demo.
19. Heartsounds
Address: 845 Balsam St, Lakewood, CO 80214 , Edgewater , Colorado , United States
Love this place! I haven’t made the trek in a good while and forgot how cool the shop is. The owner is awesome, too!
Great place for repairs and lessons! Mike Townes is a stud of you want to learn how to play.
I can’t say enough good about the guitar techs here; very detail-oriented and very communicative about what’s going on with your guitar, and they take their setup process seriously. This is THE place for acoustic (electric too) guitar setup/repair. Oh yeah, they sell some stringed instruments too…
They were unwilling to negotiate the price (at all) towards a trade in, which was a bummer. Don’t expect any deals here because you won’t get one. I would come back here if there was a guitar I really wanted, but otherwise there are similar guitars in same or better condition on craigslist for less, and without sales tax. He wanted 2600+ for a Martin HD28v with a crack in it.
Great little shop offering guitars, mandolins, banjos and a huge variety of stringed instruments both for sale and/or repair. A fun shop to visit, and if you play to try out the various instruments.
Fabulous selection but pricey.
First…the prices are way too high! The proprietor is a pompous chap to say the least. I walked into The Old Pickin’ Parlor today with $1500 in my pocket in hopes of finding a decent guitar. The gentleman who was running the store looked me up and down (sized me up) and went back to talking to the postman who had stopped to deliver the mail. Not a hello or howdy. I just moved here from Portland, Oregon and found that to be out of character from the friendliness I have found in the Denver area. I then started to look at some of the guitars. The store has some nice Martins, Collings, What looked to be Rhode Island Guilds behind the counter, etc.. I also noticed that the prices were inflated. I have been a collector/player since the 70’s and Have bought guitars from coast to coast. I know the going rate, and these were boutique prices. The real kicker was the guy behind the counter. After his initial glance, he never said another word to me. He made/answered a couple of calls of a personal nature in which he talked about playing an open mic the previous night. He called the sound man at this venue a 25 year old idiot with a tin ear, but despite that, he and his partner “wowed” the crowd anyway. His tone was abrasive and I thought it was so unprofessional to speak like that in front of a (now not so likely) paying customer. I decided to exit the store, and upon doing so looked over my shoulder. The guy was glaring at me! I had to laugh…wow! He did me the best favor possible, because I went to another acoustic specialty store in town and found a Guild NT-72! They only made 200 of these in 1994 (before Fender bought them) and it is unbelievable. Even more unbelievable is that I paid only $1700 for it. It was only $100 more than one of the stock J-50 Guild’s that this guy had at the Old Pickin’ Parlor. Look up the NT-72…you will see what a gem it is. Thanks brother! You may have wowed the crowd at the Open Mic, but you left this audience member(customer) unimpressed and slightly offended.
NOTE: There are other places that will treat you like an old friend in Denver…Try them first:)
I am a PRO MUSICIAN PRO VOCALIST
I OWN A MUSIC COMPANY I SING ON TV AND IM A MUSIC TEACHER VOICE AND A PROLIFIC SONGWRITER…
THIS OLDER GUY WAS SUCH A JERK. I ASKED HIM A QUESTION ABOUT A GUITAR AND I ANSWERED MY CELL. HE SCREAMED AT ME IN FRONT OF MANY OTHER CUSTOMERS…”TAKE YOUR PHONE OUTSIDE…NO CELLS ALOLWED…
I WAS SHOCKED APPAWLED HUMILIATED HOW RUDE OF HIM.
IM A GROWN LADY CERTAINLY UNACCEPTABLE ON HIS PART.
I LEFT AND I SAID HMMM…
“I GUESS YOU DON’T WISH TO SELL GUITARS’? ……
THATS WHY THEY JUST HANG HERE FOR ⏰ YEARS ⏳AND
MOST… DRIVE PAST YOUR LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS TO GUITAR CENTER…
(WHERE WE ARE TREATED WITH RESPECT) KINDNESS & AS YOUR BREAD AND BUTTER
WOW
*DO NOT Do❌NOT GO THERE*!!!!!
I DO NOT KNOW HIS NAME, BUT EXTREMELY ABRAISIVE GRUFF RUDE OBNOXIOUS
Give this place a pass if you’re looking for violin or fiddle things. Not much selection and the main dude at the counter seemed very offput when I asked about them. The other guy working was really nice though.
