Didn’t plan on buying anything, originally only brought a guitar I hadn’t used much in for a set up(which was set up nice). Ended up picking up this Player Plus Strat while waiting and decided I wasn’t leaving without it lol. The guys in the shop were chill and helpful.
Good instruments, music supply, great service…even lessons available
The employees here are super helpful; this place is great
I’ve purchased two guitars from here so far. They don’t have a huge selection, but the prices are reasonable.
The 2nd one I got from this store was on clearance and they even knocked some off that, giving me a better deal than I could have gotten online for the same guitar,
They would not return some unopened items we purchased while trying out an instrument. I had to return for a manager and push to get some of the items returned. All I wanted was credit toward a different instrument and even that was a challenge. Make sure you want to keep what your buying.
They are exceptionally nice!
Was a 5-star establishment previously. Unfortunately, with a new manager, Shane, loyal, long-time customers are no longer valued. Unfortunate.
My child and I went here first before going to another local music store on recommendation. I dont usually post bad reviews but thought i must for anyone else having their child starting band. This place will try and pressure you into trying to buy whatever it is they have to sell for the week. the employees are rude and wont give you the time of day if you are there with just questions. not to mention the arrogance felt from them. save yourselves the time and find another store.
They lost my intrement
3. Sam Ash Music
Address: 5460 W Sample Rd, Margate, FL 33073 , Ens , Florida , United States
Great store with helpful staff and management Buy my gear here as much as I can as I want to support a place where you can go and find knowledgeable people to talk to about the instruments, gear etc.. I see Diego here and he is always willing to take his time and help me with my questions whether I’m buying that day or not. I could buy in Amazon but it’s not the same, places like this have to be supported for all of us that like and enjoy music They also make it easy to do business with since they sell and buy used instruments offer lessons and even price match other retailers For these reasons I support them.
Got 3 guitars serviced here with new strings and tuning and 1 repair on the neck. Made my guitars feel like new again. Great place
They did not have nor desire to fix my in-guitar tuner on my guitar. However, they replaced my strings, which I was grateful for. Although they staff was fine, I did not appreciate the greeter trying to get my to wear a mask and pointing them out to me as I entered. It is not mandatory to wear one in the state of Florida, and the store personally took down the mandatory sign. Now just because cases are “rising” it does not mean that one should pressure others to wear a mask. If by following the science means to be wishy-washy by making those who are vaccinated to wear masks, then what science are you following? Political science and administrations that have an agenda, or real science?
You got three stars because you’re pretending to protect the people and following politics like blind sheep instead of following science.
Went to Sam Ash as the Fender Amplifier authorized repair center.
Technician was knowledgeable and courteousness. Amplifier was fixed within the 1 week stated period. Was a little more expensive than I expected but what isn’t today. More disappointed with Fender amplifier engineering but satisfied with Sam Ash.
Overcomplicated to try out a guitar in the warehouse and not the store. And I get to redo until I find a better price or system.
Aweful customer service. Asked for help in guitar, took them 10 minutes to page the guy over, then when he showed up 10 minutes after that, he helped some guy who was already being helped! Plus he looked like he had pink eye, yuck!
Luthier issues here… Brought a bass in to get frets leveled and dressed. Most sounded fine after work was done. After testing, I mentioned that two frets still have a very pronounced buzz. The luthier hesitantly took it back to “fix” the two frets he missed. I went back the next day, and all he did was raise the action a bit more (felt dishonest), and the exact same buzz on those frets was still there.
He probably does fine work in other areas, but it was obvious he didn’t want to go back and re-do the work for those frets (just raised the action). He tried to persuade me that I wouldn’t hear it through the amp (I did hear it! They’re clearly buzzing — even lightly played). Trying to cover things up by raising the action, when he said he’d go back and re-level the frets, is dishonest. Not quality work.
One of the better general music stores. I prefer it over others but in this and other stores little help is what you get. Then when you do get it you end up with someone who loves to show off his/her playing and low and behold they have product favs. It’s not the best scenario. I guess what I’m trying to say is that you had better do your due diligence prior to your visit. Know the lay of the product land and you’ll be ok. Just don’t believe everything a “Gigging musician” as a salesman tells you.
4. Musicians Discount Center
Address: 19405 S Dixie Hwy, Cutler Bay, FL 33157 , Ens , Florida , United States
Excellent place to relax, chill out, test amps, guitars and what not! Excellent music store. Owner, staff and workers were very friendly. Had a great time with Mike, Matt, Raphael, and Carlos. Very knowlegable and friendly! I was bringing my BOSS-ME 70 multi-fx pedal to sell. I recently played a strat/squier and it gave me memorabilia to get back into the guitar along with synthesizer. One day, I’ll go back again, this is the best music store you’ll ever find better than guitar center/sam ash. This store and the Guitar Nook are the best places, for music equipment and what not. Highly recommend!
Great prices and very good instruments
atención
Basically I came here to kill some time and see what this store had to offer, the store was much bigger than I expected, they had a lot of different instruments, lots of guitars, guitar amps, dj stage lighting and effects, different types of drums, I even saw quite a few vinyl records. The seems to have basically everything you may need if you are a musician or wanting to explore and get into a new hobby, you are allowed to play with the merchandise or I assume you can, I was playing with a few things and nobody said anything, actually speaking about nobody saying anything reminds me that nobody never acknowledged me while I was here, I would have been nice to have been greeted or ask if maybe I needed any assistance or even a goodbye have a nice day as I made my way to the door. The employees are basically playing with the instruments as well and maybe didn’t even notice I came into the store. I don’t know how this business normally operates, maybe this is normal for this place, I just wasn’t used to that. Anyways, all in all, not a bad place to explore and see if they have what your looking for or simply come to kill some time as I did on my visit.
Manager is a great guy and work with you when purchasing instruments
Bueno
Horrible customer service – not because of the employees but because of the owner. We were ready to buy ten vinyl records but the owner wasn’t there to offer a price for the unpriced records. The employees, who called the owner Mike an “as**ole,” said they were too scared of him to offer us a price for the records. When the owner arrived, he decided to spend time dealing with receipts even when we told him we had been waiting for him to arrive to buy the records. We walked out. He lost $60 in business, which may not be a big deal for his bottom line, but I will no longer support this local business. Tip to employees: don’t work for someone you dislike so much you call them an “asshole” in front of customers. If you’re looking to support a local store that sells used records, go to “Yesterday and Today” records on Bird Road.
Recently, I went in to purchase a replacement adapter that I bought from them a couple of months earlier. It came apart from my own doing, so I wanted to buy another one from the same place I bought it from to begin with. When i walked in, i showed them the EXACT same adapter I purchased FROM THEIR STORE a couple of months earlier.
I brought it home, and it wasn’t working properly, no big deal, but i wanted to exchange it and get one that works. I made sure my cable and my device wasn’t the problem because I tested them both separately, and they worked fine. The problem was with the adapter.
I walk in and they make eye contact with me but don’t help me, even when he’s just standing behind the register. Strange, but alright, I’ll signal them, maybe its an off day for them. When I tell the salesperson my problem, they immediately turn it on me, saying they sell a lot of those unites, and that its my device that’s broken. If that’s the case, then why was it working with the adapter that I just bought from you guys a couple months earlier?
They don’t do returns, so if you buy something from them and it doesn’t work, tough luck. I ended up spending a little more for the actual cable, but I don’t really mind that, its more about how they ignored my presence, and then when they did assist me, the salesperson flipped the situation on me as if it was my fault and they didn’t have a faulty product.
You’re better off going to guitar center/Sam Ash for the peace of mind. At least if your purchase doesn’t work, you can get a full refund. I came here when I did because it was closer, but i’ll take the drive to the GC in Kendall or the Sam Ash in Dolphin for my music needs.
got ripped off
5. FS Music
Address: 430 NE 3rd St, Crystal River, FL 34429 , Ens , Florida , United States
Excellent. Sam is a very talented. Great personality , fantastic with my 8 and 13 year old kids. They have learned so well from Sam. He gets them to learn more than just how to play instruments he gets them to learn how to work as a band and even has showcases where they perform in public.
Excellent Customer service, fantastic teaching skills for adult and kids in multiple instruments.
And a very friendly professional environment, like receiving classes at home ❣️.
I discovered this guitar shop cause needed cables. Very nice shop, guitars, strings, cables, etc. Friendly owner. I’ll definitely be back.
I just called to get information on music lessons for our three daughters. I was asking about piano and guitar lessons. It was very muffled sounding when he was speaking. I said I’m sorry I didn’t understand what you said. I understood that they don’t do a monthly payment but I asked him to repeat how it is that they charge for lessons. He told me maybe he would take the Spanish version off so I could understand English. My jaw dropped! I politely and shocked said I’m sorry it’s muffled I can barely hear you. He said maybe it is just how I talk in a super rude. I said okie dokie thank you very much. I’m still shocked. What is seriously wrong with people these days.
Stopped by the store last week to pick something up for my son and the lady running the store at the time did NOT EVEN BOTHER to put a mask on to be honest I didn’t even see a mask except for the one I was wearing
That tells me how much she cares about the safety of her customers
I will NEVER shop here again !!!
There is no reason for anyone to visit this establishment, all I found there was a millennial with a dead eyed thousand mile stare, an utterly useless human being with no inventory.
6. Wholesale Music Instruments
Address: 3000 W New Haven Ave, West Melbourne, FL 32904 , Ens , Florida , United States
I always have an amazing experience, so helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you
Gene knows his music and is a very honest merchant. great gear at a great price. well worth a visit I buy all my guitar needs there. including my new Martin D-28! thanks Gene!
Family owned and THE best sales and service I have encountered! Gene even sold me the BC Rich banner off of the wall for my rehearsal room!
Live music? Wow
Came looking for a case for an odd-sized guitar, found a live sit-in jam session, how delightful.
Owners were friendly and knowledgeable. My case was out of stock, he was happy to order more in. All in all, a great little shop.
Gene and…Kevin? are cool guys. I get a bit of a push-to-sell vibe from Gene, but that’s no surprise. Got to make money to eat and grow the business. Wish they had a proper luthier in-store and maybe a sound test room, but lot of good selection for merchandise.
Knowledgeable
I came into this store looking for an openback claw hammer banjo. This man tried to sell me everything but. He tried to sell me his bluegrass banjos and then a 4 string banjo!! He told me i could clawhammer on a 4 string just fine! Evidently he doesn’t know much about banjos.
The owner is very disrespectful. Please DO NOT support this business. This store is located in the corner of a PLAZA, meaning that the parking spots located within the plaza is intended for customers of ANY of the businesses located in the plaza. The owner forced me to move my vehicle because he didn’t want me parking in front of his store. There is NO assigned parking in that plaza. I am recovering from a surgery on my wrist so I went to grab a cup of coffee at my favorite coffee shop located right next door after my physical therapy appointment for my wrist so I can relax and work on my laptop. Before I even was able to take a sip of my latte the owner barged in telling me that I needed to move my vehicle away from his store. Driving alone is uncomfortable given my injury so the fact I had to stop what I was doing and move my car to the VERY NEXT parking space was very absurd. Honestly I was on the verge of tears from the commotion he caused. This is not ok, I would never want anyone else to go through that.
Mostly used gear. Everything is overly priced. The second you walk in the is trying to sell you a 3000 dollar guitar that he’s will to take half off of and and a story to go with it.
7. Onstage Music
Address: 8123 Ridge Rd, Port Richey, FL 34668 , Ens , Florida , United States
Kenny was kind and welcoming. He had patience with an instrument I bought secondhand, it had some problems I was unaware of and Kenny helped me get it going and playing again, Huge relief. I recommend Onstage Music and they have my future business
This place is great, friendly staff and great prices. You can’t go wrong with Onstage Music!
Another visit: Kenny is the best, he set up my new guitar with .11 gauge strings adjusted my intonation and my string height Cleaned it all up made my toggle switch work again with some magic spray. Fixed the curve in the neck, It feels like a brand new guitar thank you so much Kenny I’ll be back. support your local businesses! his prices are very affordable.
Bill is a great guy known for years his prices are great and he goes out of his way to help.always greets you with a smile! Thanks buddy!
The previous owner Bill treated his customers like family until he sold his shop to a bunch of crooks, I needed the new owner Kenny to put new strings on my guitar and he could not even do that right because my strings broke one after the other and when I asked him to restring the guitar he ordered that I’d have to pay him for the strings again and re-installation and when I asked for a refund he said “Absolutely not, because this would’ve never happened with any of my other customers” I asked “why are you doing this?” And he replied “what are you going to do about it?”
8. Wickham Road Music
Address: 4900 N Wickham Rd suite 106, Melbourne, FL 32940 , Ens , Florida , United States
I am thrilled with this store. I visited a big retail store looking for some audio cables and they had no selection nor great knowledge of the product. They told me to buy the product online.
I stopped by Wickham Road Music and immediately was helped and the employee found exactly what I needed.
I came back the next day because I needed a few more and the owner informed me he would be placing an order soon!
So happy. Great small business.
I’ve been in this store 4 times now and leave with a great big grin every time! This new owner is awesome and he keeps the best stuff available! I brought a couple of instrumental problems to him that he fixed without charge!! All that AND he’s a Vet! Thanks for all your service… To the U.S. AND to me!
Four stars because the owner rectified this issue and as far as i know, subsequent customers did not have this problem anymore. Props to you for actually caring!
One star because piano instructor Suzanne is knowledgeable and good instructor overall, so she gets the star. Issue is the owner seems to have an issue in his vocabulary or he is very dishonest. He recently started forcing students to pay a “deposit” equivalent to 2 classes. His excuse, “if you dont show up to class, we use the deposit to pay for the instructor’s time;” however, the classes are PRE-PAID which means, that the class is already paid for. When i argued this with him, he said, “well, we actually use that deposit for two extra classes when you choose to quit.” Well, i already chose to quit, so first of all, why would i want two more classes? an entire month is always PRE-PAID too, so no need for “deposit” since classes have been PAID IN ADVANCE. When i signed up, i told them, i was using 4 classes my mother gifted me. They made her leave a 2 class deposit; even though, again, she had PRE-PAID for the four classes. I told them i was only there for the 4 classes. So when i went to my last class, the owner said, “I dont give back deposits, worse case i could give you store credit.” Hmmm… DEPOSIT??? a deposit is something that is given back subject to terms. In apartment, if nothing is broken at end of lease, deposit is given back, in a car rental if the car is not damaged, etc. He is forcing people to prepay every month, AND prepay two classes that they have to take when they no longer want to take classes. Completely dishonest, misleading and rude.
Nice place. A lil on the pricey side. They have good, knowledgable sales people. My complaint deals with their service. Maybe it was just my luck, but I brought in an item to get serviced and was told I would get a call when it was done cuz it had to be sent out. I did not get a call. Later..2 days after I was told it would be done.. I went to pick it up. It was finished, but due to me being in a hurry, i didnt fully check out the item before I left the store. I got home and found some problems with what was supposed to be fixed. I was able to fix most of the issues myself.. I’d consider going elsewhere if you need something like a guitar setup done..
Has some good stuff, but not a great selection. Very cheap or very expensive not much middle
People were nice enough, but what kind of Music Store can’t replace tubes on an amp? Seems more geared toward lessons and selling stuff than repairs or service. Also not open till 12, which probably makes sense.
Workers are nice, but owner has interesting policies. My wife and I had been customers for years, but we recently purchased a used tascam recorder for $250 from this place. Took it home, tested it out and found some internal issues. Brought it back only to find out, NO REFUNDS. Lesson learned: BUY ALL MUSIC EQUIPMENT ONLINE. Even eBay has a 100% satisfaction guarantee. This local store should have stood by its product. Instead, they lost a customer for life.
I have played the violin since i was a child. My old teacher would flip the strings for me because I was left handed.I think it’s crazy this store tried to tell me there was no one ever in an orchestra to play left handed and it would destroy my violin if I did that. The man actually argued with me. I will never shop here because of his ignorance after I stated what I was use to and what I wanted.
9. Guitar Center
Address: 7736 N Kendall Dr, Kendall, FL 33156 , Ens , Florida , United States
Went in for a guitar repair ended up with a free guitar and 3 lessons. Great place and people.
Show
Awesome place, the best equipments, instruments and staff
This is an amazing music store. Customer service needs improvement.
Good
gd help and knowledgeable
The staff is a bunch of lazy kids that don’t want to work. The repair guy was cool though.
I left my guitar to repair and they just made it worse and I left it again. Today I went to pick it up and now one of volume knobs is missing. Terrible repair service.
Update: I finally was able to pick up my guitar today and it’s not working at all. Volume is really low. One volume knob is loose, when you switch pickups sound doesn’t change and sound really weird like static crackling.Just as I expected they even made it worse. I will definitely take my guitar to another place to repair..
I paid $ 80 for a “Platinum Setup” and am very disappointed. Frankly, I don’t know if any setup was done; the 6th string and, especially the 5th, are buzzing like when I brought the guitar in.
Next time I’ll do the setup myself.
10. Total Entertainment Music Store
Address: 501 W International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL 32114 , Ens , Florida , United States
As a musician I have visited most of all the music stores in the Daytona Beach area. TE is the only music store that I feel deserves a five-star.
Amazing staff Awesome guitar selection unbeatable price check them out!
Lots of cool stuff. The guys that work there are very knowledgeable and work with you until you get exactly what you want. I go here and no where else for my musical needs.
Nice assortment of shredder guitars. I use ESP, Charvel, and Yamaha as my main guitars. I was very impressed with the selection of Jackson’s and ESPs. Not much Charvel stuff for one of the only “authorized” dealers (which was the reason for my visit). Lots of equipment for most any need you may have. The front counter guy and guitar tech were very helpful!
Great prices and good inventory considering the Pandemic.
Phone directions and information very pleasant and helpful
Manager Steve was extremely rude and talked down to my friend and I when we came in to browse. Total snob and very off putting, plus he kind of smelled like booze…
1/10 would never go back. Would rather work with the less knowledgeable staff in Best Buy’s music department than be snubbed by some dude with part time dreams of leading a Creed cover band…
Place is a joke plain and simple. Went in there and got scolded and reprimanded like a 6 year old for simply just touching a guitar. I was told your not allowed to touch anything and that a worker would hand me the guitar. Then on top of it they have only a FIVE minute limit to try it products before they are hounding you to buy. Never again will step foot in there or recommend
I’m a student at the local collage and I had time between classes and wanted check what the store had. I walked in this morning and waited half an hour to be helped in the drum room. After a disappointing experience they stopped me and accused that I stole a $2 lanyard. I assured them this was mine when I came in and I would never do such act. They then checked the video camera footage and found they where wrong and DID NOT apologies. This scenario made me late for my exam and put me under unnecessary stress. I never felt so belittled in my life. Why would anyone support such a rude staff is beyond me. With the amount of great independent music stores in the Daytona Beach area, there’s no reason to step foot in “Total Disappointment”.
11. Guitar Center
Address: 1101 W Hallandale Beach Blvd, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009 , Ens , Florida , United States
Guitar centre lo máximo en instrumentos musicales se los recomiendo
Ordered a beautiful Wine Red Epiphone Les Paul and it came quickly and was packaged well. Customer service was great and I’m very happy with my purchase. Will definitely recommend to friends.
Great place, great atmosphere, great employees…
Check out their used equipments too. Really good quality for less.
Probably has one of the best selections if guitars in South Florida, however some of the employees are rude.
For a Guitar Center has every option that you need from A to Z staff is very friendly prices are fair would recommend to anybody overall kale
I purchased a $180 headphone and wasn’t satisfied with the sound. Went to return them and stood at the counter waiting for the rep to acknowledge me. He finally asked after waiting 15 mins “is someone helping you?” I said no, I’m waiting for you. He walked away and never returned. I guess a customer with a return item has no value so I had to go to someone else for assistance. Never shop at this place again. Looking forward to them going out of business soon.
I recently purchased a Limited Custom Shop strat from this store, and had it shipped to me. The guitar was purchased from someone new, and returned to the store – so essentially it was an open box item. I paid $3,000 for the guitar, and received it with a non matching case that has a huge stain on it. Secondly the selector switch cap was missing. Thirdly the middle pickup doesn’t work, it has barely any volume. I contacted Guitar Center support immediately, they told me to bring it in to my local store. Had the guitar looked at, and they have confirmed there is an issue with the pickup. I’m going on two weeks, and all issues are still present. Terrible experience.
almost no customer service real hard to make a purchase ,just no help workers standing around ask for help with no response
12. Music & Arts
Address: 1408 Highland Ave, Melbourne, FL 32935 , Ens , Florida , United States
Very helpful and knowledgeable. They go above and beyond to help their customers. You can tell they truly care about and enjoy what they do. A positive contributor to our community.
Nice work, super friendly people – great dog!
Pleasent and professional experience
Pricey
Great rentals, they take good care of the instruments.
If it’s horns that you’re into, this is the place.
Ordered an instrument, charged for instrument, after 2 weeks and multiple calls and sitting on hold for 45 mins was informed they have no idea when I would receive my instrument. And my refund will take 3-4 weeks.
First of all, they need to extend their store hours for 2 weeks during August when students are renting instruments. I went on a Saturday and the line was over an hour-long. Secondly, a week later, I tried to return a still sealed, unopened package of reeds to the store and was told they were non-returnable, even though their website specifically says, “The following items are returnable only if defective or unopened or unused: strings, reeds, tubes…” I’m going to ask my child’s band director to consider recommending a different local business for music needs next year.
You’d think when you’re paying $25 a month for a used plastic clarinet you’d at least get decent customer service. I was told that my clarinet, that had been damaged and sounded awful since the moment I opened it, was extremely damaged (obviously) and when she asked what I did to it I told her I had no idea as I’d barely played it and it was this way when I opened the case when I received it. She then told me “Think hard honey because all our instruments are shipped in perfect condition.” Clearly untrue. I will not be giving business to this company again. Very overpriced and rude.
Edit:
As I’m reading through others reviews I see many people have had this same issue with the same woman I had an issue with. I hope the owner notices this and takes proper action.
13. AMP Shop & Music Parlor
Address: 776 S Congress Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33406 , Ens , Florida , United States
Friendly, helpful and a good reputation by word of mouth by other musicians.
I brought in my twenty plus year old Fender Acoustasonic amp for service for the very first time. It was popping and crackling. They had to clean out the controls and did a fine job. The costwas about $75 and well worth it. The grill cloth had also been torn. They showed me how I could order the grill cloth and do it myself if I wanted to or they could do it. I did it myself and with their encouragement I was able to do myself and it looks new. Bottomline, I trusted their integrity and work quality. They could have quoted me any price and made up a problem but they did not. First time and not last time customer. These are good knowledgeable people.
Always does and always will work on my instruments!! Trust only them! Honest and hard working. And They understand how to fix a guitar. They have been since I have been in Florida and I have been here a long time….
Really nice folks but they weren’t able to fix an amp that another place fixed easily
This has been a reliable location for many years
Good store for used equipment and service on your equipment. Friendly!
Closing early on a Friday during season? Bad business practice. Sitting outside your shop at 4:45pm. Call ahead or schedule an appointment with these guys
12/30/16
Sold me an amp for $130 that they didn’t even check at half volume (cuts out) and called that “fully serviced” and couldn’t do anything for me when I complained bc I live out of state.
14. Full Circle Music, Inc.
Address: 3302 NE 33rd St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308 , Ens , Florida , United States
I’ve known Mitch since 1989. He’s trustworthy, an expert technician, and a great guy. There are only two people in the entire country I trust my horns to: Eric Satterlee, owner of Meridian Winds in Michigan, and Mitch Kopp, owner of Full Circle Music in Broward County. If you want good, honest, and expert service at a reasonable price, Mitch is the man. Trust me on this. You’ll be glad you did.
Best customer service! I ignored the other rating. Glad I did!
Great place! Unique and professional.
Unique place worth visiting. Lots of guitar from second hand
I am dumbfounded anyone can be giving this place more than one star. Complete hack. Brought a guitar in for a routine procedure, was most sloppy, amaturish job I could ever imagine. If you value your instrument at all, avoid this place at all costs. This is not a place for serious musicians or collectors. Is a tourist hole at very best. Beware.
DO NOT recommend! Guitar was shipped with no protection in two boxes that had been cut to fit and taped together, only one small piece of styrofoam in the bottom. The guitar arrived broken and is unable to be repaired. Request for a return and refund refused.
Do not go here. The owner doesn’t know how to fix guitars.
15. Schmidt’s Music
Address: 105 N Palafox St, Pensacola, FL 32502 , Ens , Florida , United States
Great customer service! Swung by to get saxophone checked, and it was no problem. Some adjustment were made for a very reasonable price. The person at the front desk was very friendly and professional, gave me great tips on how to maintain instrument and playing techniques for the beginners. The shop overall looks really nice and gives you a cozy ambiance. Definitely recommend!
I couldn’t tell you with any degree of certainty if this store is pricey, stocked with all a musicians needs or if their instrument selection is worthy of being highlighted. However a couple times a year for the last several years somebody in the fam has needed their repair service. I’m thankful they exist. Their work, care, service and expertise is awesome as well as wonderfully consistent. Whatever it is, friendly, familiar, maybe even nostalgia this little store is what I think all music stores want to be. Keep up the good work!
Staff very helpful and informative. It’s never too late to learn to play an instrument!
This is a great shop with friendly staff, but sometimes the wait is too long.
Very helpful and friendly staff. They have a large variety of instruments and accessories.
Excellent repair department.
Bought a clarinet from them for 1,111.94 was on sale originally 1900. A year later tried to trade it in. They offered 75$. They services this clarinet as well. Upgraded mouth piece. Long story short bad customer service owner wouldn’t even talk to us. Said he had lots of inventory but we saw none in store. Went to Schmitds and they offered a fair price for this and gained a customer. They were extremely nice. He said he gets a customer a week come in mad at these guys. 75$ smh.
I came to the store looking for some help on purchasing my first violin, I ended up getting snubbed. I was trying to get some general information on purchasing and what I needed, instead I was told at least 3 times how expensive they were. I was deffinetly judged upon walking in the door, as it was I had just returned from a trip and did not feel I needed to dress up to go into a music store. In the end I am glad I had this experience because it allowed me the opportunity to find another business that was actually customer service oriented, and was not judgmental. I am now on my second violin and enjoying every minute of it, no thanks to this store.
Too expensive
16. Blues Angel Music
Address: 657 N Pace Blvd, Pensacola, FL 32505 , Ens , Florida , United States
Blues Angel Music has done it again. Great product, great price, great service. I learned a lot about bass pedals and DI’s today. Great trade-in value and walked out the door with the gear I needed. Thanks to the staff for a great experience.
Second time here. Excellent selection of guitars and expertise of the salesman was a great help.
The staff was so helpful
Jacob was knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. Very nice music store and reasonable prices. Very well stocked for 2022.
Friendly and helpful, just expect to pay full price or a little more on equipment.
I wasn’t here never heard of this place
Cool people, subpar service. I sent a saxophone in for repairs at the beginning of April. They said it would be $120 and take roughly two weeks. Sounds good to me. Two weeks later and they haven’t even started on it. I finally get a text message at the beginning of May notifying me of my saxophone being ready. The total has been raised to $150 without warning. Friendly staff, especially the guitar techs but probably won’t go there with another repair.
Worst guitar store experience of my life. Rude and arrogant salesman treated me like I was stupid. I’ll no longer feel bad ordering from big name music stores in the future.
Edit: I really hoped to be able to change this review but after reaching out to the email provided and getting no response, it will sadly stay up.
17. Music Man
Address: 179 N Jog Rd, West Palm Beach, FL 33413 , Ens , Florida , United States
Purchased an acoustic guitar and I’ve posted the image as well. Quality product at a reasonable price. Great customer service.
Nice and helpful. Tuned my daughter’s violin for free. Even though it’s a cheap one
Excellent location and wonderful customer service
Went in to resolve an issue. It didn’t get resolved. I will look elsewhere to found what I am looking for.
Nice
They lied to me
Ok
I have purchased three clarinets for my daughter from Music Man, with the last one being over $3600 (Buffet R-13). The “brand-new” clarinet was damaged. We had it repaired from an outside person since my daughter needed it immediately for college auditions and we had been told by Music Man that the repairs would take three weeks. I received a phone call from the manager, Chris, asking for copies of my receipts. He then told me that he would submit the receipts to Buffet for reimbursement. After I submitted the receipts, Chris told me (A MONTH LATER) that he didn’t know why I had dropped off receipts for reimbursement and there would not be any reimbursement since I had taken it to elsewhere for repair. He even went as far as to say that he had never called me and had no idea what I was talking about, even though he had asked to speak to my daughter about what exactly needed to be repaired, as there had been other Buffet clarinets that needed to be repaired. After spending over $7000 at this store, I feel their customer service is horrible. Will never recommended it to anybody.
18. Miami Music Works
Address: 11771 S Dixie Hwy, Miami, FL 33156 , Ens , Florida , United States
This is a wonderful music store. I was moving and they came and picked up my piano and sold it on consignment at their shop. Louis was great to work with– and he is passionate about his work and the store and the music lessons and instruments they offer. Highly recommend!
Great place. Teachers are top notch.
Looked nice from the outside. But was closed at 4:45pm, before displayed and published closing hour (5pm on Saturdays as of Feb 27th 2022).
On Dec. 10th. the fifth day of HanukkahI went to the store to buy a Ukelle. In the past I have bought 2 other On Dec. 10th. the 5th. day of Hanukkah I went to the music store to but myself a soprano Ukelle, having bought 2 other Ukes there. I picked up a yellow soperno Uke and took it to the desk. I asked the owner a rather tall stout man in his 6o’s to help me tune the Uke. His reply was I am to busy for that. Understanding that I suggested that someone else could get me a tuner. He looked me directly the eyes and said” PUT DOWN THE UKE AND GET OUT OF MY STORE”. I Stood there in absolute SHOOK! What did I do to cause this absurd response. Was it that I am a brown skin man with a colorful yamaka? Did he take me for a Muslim and decided to exercise his right to be a flaming bigot? I’d like to say bless him but I just can’t. There is no place for bigotry period.
One of the worst places i have been. first time i have felt so discriminated against. i was going to buy a 26k piano but these people are horrendous. They pre judge me by the way I look that I couldn’t afford any of the pianos. extremly bad experience i walked out. ill take my business elsewhere.
19. Music & Arts
Address: 608 N Dixie Hwy, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33460 , Ens , Florida , United States
I would like to thank Jason and everyone at Chafin music Center for all the help moving into the new year. I needed a violin case for an event same day and they came through.
Thank you, again and I hope everyone has a great and prosperous New Years!
I recently visited this store. I am so impressed with the manager, Scott. He took his time on the phone and in person to help me with this rental experience. I had know idea how it worked. He explained in detail everything. I really appreciate the attention to detail that Scott gave. The store was beautiful and had every item i needed. Scott did such a great job at being attentive to all that came in. I highly recommend this place. If your new to renting an instrument. You must call Scott. He will guide you through itwith ease. Great experience and great service. Thank you!
The people working there are actually helpful one of the cashiers was really nice, he helped me with what I was looking for.
Mixed feelings. Scott was friendly and helpful on the phone. Unfortunately, when I arrived, someone else helped me. I was in town from California, and I had 1 gig. Normally, I wouldn’t do this, but the venue suggested I ask the store to loan me a tablet mount for 1 day. The clerk’s response was comical! “Um, we don’t loan tablet mooounts…you can return it.” LOL At checkout, knowing this was no longer Chafin Music, I said, “Hey! There is a Music And Arts where I live in (town name). That’s in Southern California.” Her response, “Oh.”
I asked for a bag, and for some reason, that’s when she smiled. She said, “Absolutely!” And she gave me a bag that was too small to comfortably hold the product. It was actually problematic for me because I was walking.
There was no choice of tablet mounts. It worked fine, but I found it awkward. I finally did get to see Scott when I returned the item 5 days later. That was a smooth and friendly transaction.
They had what i need. A little pricey on a few items, but closer than guitar center
the lessons itself were good, but I signed up for a one month trial in December to see if I liked it (guitar lessons), and after 2 lessons I realized I was too busy to continue. The issue was the store kept charging me for lesson in January without my permission, just a hassle to deal with and now they are trying to collect on lessons which I did not sign up for or attend.
Shameless and soul sucking corporate structure which models its business plan to steal wages from instructors by offering serfs pittance in wages. Instructors and teachers would do much better working solo, advertising their services independent of these vampiric organizations which exploits musicians by selling over priced lessons to meet corporate profit margins. Shameless. If you want to learn and for free go to YouTube and devour all the free sources offering wonderful and informational FREE tutorials in theory, technique, improv, composition and business sense. If you are a guitarist you can do infinitely better just viewing channels like Troy Grady’s Cracking the Code. Save your money and support local independent musicians. These venues and organizations offer nothing but membership plans and packages akin to fitness gyms with ridiculous policies in order to steal as much of your hard earned money. Avoid.
These people are a bunch of crooks that are over charging customers. They are nothing like Chafin Music which was a Staple in Lakeworth. Chafin is missed because they served this community with Care, Integrity and transparency. I rented a used no name trumpet that I have been paying for over 2 years when I try to pay it off I was told I owe over a thousand dollars! Music and Arts need to be cancelled and reported to BBB.
20. Central Music, Inc.
Address: 5175 Ulmerton Rd, Clearwater, FL 33760 , Ens , Florida , United States
Having been a member of the Team of Central Music for many years, serving as Regional Manager for the Rodgers Church Organ Division in Southwest Florida, this great company is family to me. The combined experience of the sales and technical team is unsurpassed. There is no other company out there quite like Central Music, Inc.
I have studied classical music for the past 55 years. Recently, I purchased a Rodgers Classic organ (series 558) for practice at home. The price was excellent, and service is outstanding! On the day of delivery, the truck arrived and the console, bench, and pedal unit were all blanket wrapped.
They spent about 1 1/2 hours setting the instrument up in the living room, testing and adjusting as necessary (pedals sitting on a carpeted floor), and a good 30 minutes or more showing ALL features and answering all questions.
Having been a music director in the South Florida Area for over 30 years, I have personally played on some of their installations – both electronic and hybrid electronic/pipe instruments. It becomes obvious when one walks into a church that great care was taken in designing the perfect instrument for the space – not only visually, but also acoustically. I have long been a fan of Rodgers instruments and they are the South Florida representatives.
Whether you have need of a practice instrument at home, or your church is looking to replace or upgrade the organ, I recommend without hesitation that you check with Central Music. I’m sure that you will agree that they stand out from their competitors in design, price, and support.
Not your average piano shop. Family owned, they care.
Bad customer service, very rude
Owner stood over me questioning about my income. Felt very unwelcoming. She claimed to do a lot of work with the church, but should probably read the Bible again. There are better piano shops where people welcome aspiring musicians…
