Love everything that ive bought from the guitar shop. Ask the people that work there are always so nice and friendly to everyone that comes in the shop. Definitely one of my favorite places to go and shop for anything related to guitars. So I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking to buy or even slightly interested in guitars.
Last minute rush to get strings as I slid up they were locking the door at closing. Very kind ladies actually let me in knowing I wasn’t spending much money for their time but smiled and were soo kind. I will be back. earlier next time.
Helpful staff, decent prices, quality gear, what else do you want?
Everything a student needs to sharpen their craft.
Good. place to shop for all your. music. needs.
Always have a good experience at Arts. They work well with the school programs and if they don’t have what we need they are sure to find it
Big
Late or Cello repairs, They had my Cello for 2 days to reset the bridge (takes 15 mins) I had to pick it up and do it my self.
No words!
I brought in something for them to look at in January and it’s been 3 and a 1/2 months and they haven’t called back. I’ve called 5 or 6 times and the manager has been on vacation every single one of those times. They stole my instrument. DO NOT GO HERE

7. Bailey Brothers Music Company
Address: 4673 US-280 Suite # 7, Birmingham, AL 35242 , Fayetteville , Alabama , United States
Excellent customer service and very friendly. They threatened me with a lot of respect. They gave me the best price I could possibly get. Thanks guys!!!!
BBM did some repair work on my Taylor 912c. Not only did they do a great job on the work itself, but they cleaned the guitar and figured out what strings I like (in the case) and put brand new strings on it. I feel like I’ve got a brand new guitar. Great store too…my kids didn’t want to leave! Thanks y’all!
I bought a brand new 50’s Les Paul Goldtop from Guitar Center and it came with a free set up so I went ahead and replaced the nut. The guitar wouldn’t stay in tune. I took it to a different guitar store around my town and they worked on the nut but still wouldn’t stay in tune. I changed to locking tuners and put a fender string tree on the d and g string to straighten the angle but still nothing. I did some research and came to the conclusion my nut was too high. I took it to Joseph at Bailey Brothers and he filed and shaped the nut and now my tuning problems are a thing of the past! This was my first Gibson and I was honestly ready to give up on them because of tuning problems. Now my Goldtop is solid as a rock! Thx again Joseph and Bailey Brothers team!
good staff well organize not bad products
This place is awesome, need customer service? DONE! Need a repair? DONE! Need to place an order? DONE! The only thing I did not like was the lack of extended range instruments. You will not be finding fanned fret, 28 fret, tap guitar, etc. You want those go to WARR guitars or order them off of a musicians website.
It was my first time in the store and I had an excellent experience. David was very helpful and friendly as well as the other staff present. The online site lacks a lot of the guitars they have in stock because they get new guitars a lot so I would advise actually going into the store to see their wide selection.
I explained to them thoroughly what I needed and they sold me the opposite! It all about sells and f**k the customers needs! Stay away from the southside location!
I left my guitar with this store in February 2012 for a simple repair. In June it was still hanging waiting for them to repair. I had been told on multiple occasions that it would be ready in just a few days. I picked it up today June 24, 2012 and no repair has been done and I was still charged a bench fee. This place sucks. I will never go in there again. Good luck if you do.
This place is as good as, if not better than, Guitar Center. But this one man that works there is not the friendliest and makes me and my music buddy never wanna come again… I was gonna buy at least $20-$60 of stuff, and my buddy was gonna get his guitar worked on, but we decided against it after our experience today.
My friend and I were playing our guitars together at moderate volumes. No louder than the other customers that passed through. Our volume knobs probably were set around 1. This rude clerk guy came up to us and told us “turn it down, there are customers in here”. When there was maybe 1 other guy in the guitar room at most. What are we, trash? Are we not customers?
Though to be fair, there was a little kid who sat behind us who was louder than both of us combined, and he was tremolo picking the most random nonsensical annoying noise (future shredder?), but he should’ve told the kid to turn down—not us. We both turned our amps off because he was rude the last time we were in the store and we were pretty annoyed at this point. But the kid turned his amp down and continued the random picking and the dude immediately came back and said “hey, okay, turn it off, that’s enough for today” and took the guitar from the kid. The rudest music store clerk we’ve ever encountered. There’s another guy who is super nice that works there who let us turn the volume up—at least 2 or 3 times what we did today—and test every amp in the store. We bought a $2,000 setup from the nice guy in the past, but this rude guy would probably kick us out of the store before we could make a purchase. I didn’t catch his name, but he’s average height, blondish, his hair is thinning, and he had a short beard. A nicer worker told us he’s been there 3 years, though I’m not sure how he’s lasted that long. He’ll probably follow you around like you’re a thief and ask if he can help you 8 times like he did to us the last time we came in the store simply to buy a cable.
8. Lisenby’s Music Shop
Address: 831 S Memorial Dr, Prattville, AL 36067 , Fayetteville , Alabama , United States
This place has got to be the best music store I have ever been too. The people are very nice and care about their customers!
Awesome people great experience.
These guys are the best. Good quality gear at really good prices
Nice place. Good selection conveniently located.
It’s a standard small music store. There aren’t a lot of new high end instruments here, but they are all very nice folks.
It’s a shame places like this will be going out of business soon. If they would have what I needed or was interested in like certain pickups or more interesting pedals and better guitars this would be an awesome place the last time I went in there the walls were filled with Nashville guitars and they had a couple good electrics but literally every acoustic guitar hanging on the wall was a Nashville guitar and I was looking for a Taylor or Martin but I’ve never seen anything like that in that store I go there to buy picks and strings but that’s only because they don’t have a guitar store in Talladega. When they don’t have pickups I need they asked me if I want them to order it but in this day and age I can just do that myself and get it for cheaper because looking at the price of the looper pedals they’re not buying them wholesale they’re buying them straight off of a website and marking the price up.. The people are super nice I hate giving a three-star review but I’m just being honest.
Walked in today to look around and from the moment I walked in the door, the older gentleman (I guess the owner?) had his eye on me and was watching me like a hawk, made me feel unwelcome to be there. He asked if I was looking for anything in particular and when I told him very politely he didn’t have what I was looking for he arrogantly told me “I opened this store in 1973 and everything you see in the store is priced the same as you’d get it online” like ok bud I wasn’t complaining about the price you just don’t have what I was looking for. When I told him I wasn’t looking to buy today, and was just looking around he made a sarcastic comment about “well if you’re not buying, we can just put this back on the shelf” ??? I continued to walk around and look at some more product and he continued to watch me like a hawk until I got in my car and pulled out of the parking spot. All of my musician friends have recommended I don’t frequent this store, and I can honestly say, after that experience, I will not and will tell anyone that asks not to either. Lousy excuse for customer service.
I read reviews for this shop and thought it was an honest place to sell my gear. I walked in with an Epiphone AJ 220, with an Epiphone molded hardshell case I bought seperately, and an Epiphone “Snake Pit” 15w practice amp. ALL in like new condition. She plugged the guitar in and it was only the fourth time it had ever been plugged in. I never put the guitar in the case without wiping it down first. Look everything I listed up for yourself, and you’ll see what I lost. I messed up and let the lady know that I was in dire need of money for my family. The old guy asked where I bought it, and when I told him, he said he’d lost alot of business to “places like that”. No. I looked around the shop, and all he had was used gear that had been repaired and put up for sale. Junk. My guitar was the nicest instrument there! The reason he’s losing business is because he’s trying to sell junk and beating people in need out of what their instruments are worth. The lady acted like she was on Pawn Stars! If I hadn’t had needed the money really bad, I would have told her where she could stick her $200! That’s all they gave me for everything I brought in. Look up the items I listed, and you’ll see I did my part to support this business! The reviews I read must have been friends of theirs, because they definately misled me. Not fair at all.

They did an amazing job on my ’69 Telecaster Thinline. Re-fret, new nut, truss rod adjustment, complete set up and more. Guitar plays like a dream now. Well priced and amazing workmanship. A+++ Im a customer for life!
This shop is great. Jason set up my 2006 D18 V with a new bone saddle & nut and got everything dialed in just right. She plays and sounds fantastic.
Friendly atmosphere and lots of instruments.
Good product, Good service.
I’ve never dealt with someone so rude over the phone. The owner tried to guilt me with sarcasm and acted like victim when I questioned a price. Full story: I asked to order a cello string. All was going well (owner answered questions about speed of shipping and availability of the string), but then he quoted a price ($81) that was far above what other shops charge. I said respectfully that “I’ve purchased the string for $45 at other walk-in shops” and he became sarcastic and argumentative with me, claiming he was “holding my hand” through the process, and said “Well, I have to pay $35 for this string so what do YOU think is fair for ME to make? $15? What is 35 + 15, huh? Ohhh, maybe $50 is more than you can afford?” A simple, “well this is my price” would have been fine as a response from him, but I felt disrespected so I hung up and decided I’m never going to spend a dime Homewood Musical Instrument Co. I advise everyone else to steer clear of this shop and the guy who owns it.
12. Walmart Supercenter
Address: 41301 US-280, Sylacauga, AL 35150 , Fayetteville , Alabama , United States
The guys at Spicer’s are extremely friendly and helpful. I choose this shoot over the big box music stores any day. Down home, small town feel where the customer is the guest of honor! No cap!
Did a great job repairing my son’s electric guitar.
Spicer’s has everything you need – a cool vibe when you walk into the door and warm service from fun, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lessons and sessions available on site.
Very helpful staff. Nice store.
Lots of variety. I didn’t even buy anything, but asked one of the staff several questions about a few of their guitars and he was very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The store itself looks pretty cool and has a nice flow to it. A cool spot to check out some good instruments. Parking can be sort of a pain during peak hours during the day, but overall it’s a good choice to visit anytime
Needed something for last minute on a Saturday for my sound system. That rented to me without any hassle about me being from out of state.
Less than fair.
Great selection and helpful staff.
Came in with my daughter, looking to purchase a 12 string guitar. 5 employees ignore us for over 15 minutes. They were busy looking at their phones, and speaking to one another. We waited patiently but not one person even acknowledged we were there. Sad.
16. Jasper Music
Address: 52 N Walston Bridge Rd suite 104, Jasper, AL 35504 , Fayetteville , Alabama , United States
Started to buy a more expensive guitar as gift but after owner ask me several questions realized it wasn’t right for my nephew. Got what I needed at a better price and my nephew was elated. Music lessons are customized to age, ability, and what kind of music you like. My nephew was playing a real song after a few lessons.
A+++. Fixes all my basses. Does everything electronically, changes strings, etc. Good work.
If you need any form of music lessons be it drums, guitar, piano, etc. Nick is your guy. The establishment provides a very relaxed and family friendly environment. He keeps all the accessories in stock such as strings, picks, and instrument cables. Jasper Music is highly recommended and a breath of fresh air in our community
The music store had the banjo strings I needed.
17. Jerry’s Music
Address: 1140 25th St W, Jasper, AL 35501 , Fayetteville , Alabama , United States
David was very kind and extremely informative. He made my guitar shiny and hydrated and made her sound like a happy gal.
Awesome selection, great folks
It’s a small place but it has good instruments I like it
Eeeeh
Over priced. Only good if you need to grab a pack of strings or something small last minute.
Has variety of instruments and types of music. Carrie is a bubbly personality there
Awful place with cheap brands and overpriced / broken used instruments.
I felt watched and rushed. Two women were working there that day, one was very friendly. I did not feel comfortable asking questions and also it was so hot in there.
The people are not friendly, the merchandise is overpriced, some equipment is not even new (and it is damaged) although they don’t disclose that information, and getting around in a wheelchair is next to impossible. The lady at the register didn’t know anything about the equipment. It is definitely worth the drive to go somewhere else.
19. Gadsden Music Company
Address: 607 Broad St, Gadsden, AL 35901 , Fayetteville , Alabama , United States
They repair brass instruments. This is good. I have an extremely keen memory for prices and value. It is a downtown retail store so I didn’t expect prices to mirror on line retailers. I came in to browse and introduce myself and it was close to closing so I didn’t want to bother the staff or hold them up. I don’t know yet if pricing has any wiggle room or package deals. The store also may have some demo or used stuff at better values but I don’t know. I saw a speaker that I can get on line in the mid 400s priced at full boat retail and I use this as a barometer to see if I can afford to shop there. Typically, when I’ve visited guitar center stores, I may see an XLR cable listed at 19.99. After inquiring that I need several, I’m introduced to a 10 pack of same quality at a matched price of an on line retailer like 10 for 49.00. This is the stuff that keeps me going back. If some hint at all was given that I can “chew” down the prices some on items I’m interested in, I could replace my on line experience with shopping here.i just saw no indication that I would be offered a better deal on items. We in the music industry have been hit HARD and I’m sure the same goes for retailers. I would like 2 speaker stands and smaller format PA speakers for 149.00 bundles to 249. No indication that anything was in that ballpark when single small format speakers of no name recognition were listed at over 200 each. I hope this preliminary review shed some light on the feelings of the typical browser who’s played music over 50 years and stays active. The staff were very nice and friendly. When I’m ready to buy..and believe me I wasn’t tire kicking or wasting the staffs time, I will show the deals I’m looking for and if they can come within 20% of them, I’ll buy local. They need to stay in business and perform a valuable service to the community with band instruments and beginners.
Can rent instruments for beginners
i go here for picks and strings and sticks and drum-heads
Alot of merchandice to choose from. The employees were ftiendly and helpful. It was a very pleasant trlp to the music store. My hat is off to the owners and associates ok f Gadsden Music Store.
Rediculously expensive
I play guitar and went in there for some supplies. Very lacking. Used to be the place to go in Gadsden for guitars and amps. Not anymore. There is nowhere in town now.
Rip off & don’t know measurements for nuts/ saddle’s probably anything just a store that takes suckers for a ride
20. The Trading Post
Address: 33123 US-280, Childersburg, AL 35044 , Fayetteville , Alabama , United States
Why be called the Trading Post Pawn when you don’t trade back things you sell even with receipts with no damage. What a waste of Letters. Might as well be called the Traders Helper ,but that name and wonderful business is already took. Needs to be called Even Odds Pawn Shop. What a waste of my time just reading the name of your business. I tell you what you railed me in like I was fish. The name of your business was the fishing pole and my Camera was the bait and you was aimed knowing just where to stand. Your better off being called a Thrift Store & be blessed with donations. Lucky you your the only pawn shop in town with the best quality I’ve seen in years.
Wouldn’t trust these folks. Sold me a used gas tube for an AR 15 for $15. I Inspect all my parts and components before installation, and thank God I did, because this one was warped causing the bolt carrier group to actually hit the gas tube when chambering a round. Very dangerous and negligent to sell faulty components especially for the Assembly of firearms.
