Have been a long time customer! It is always good to have a neighborhood store for odds and ends. However service is what makes the difference. I just had some fret work and set up done to a Yamaha FG365SE that I’ve had for over 25 years and was used when I got it! It came back playing better than any acoustic that I’ve ever played! Great job Max!

Hands down the most down to earth people I’ve ever met.I lost my wallet and by the time I realized it,they were closed for over 30 minutes.I called just to see if anyone answered and shortly after I got a call back from the owner.She seemed so concerned for my issue,and called one of her employees that was still at the shop to meet me there to look around the store with me.He even checked the cameras and verified that my wallet was still in my pocket when I left.I ended up finding it at home,thank you so much for the ponce de Leon staff,I am forever grateful for the time that you guys gave me even though you didn’t have to!To anyone looking for the best music store in the world,this is the place!

Had to make a quick stop to grab a few things. I know it was closing time. I was trying to make it quick. When they started harassing my husband reminding him when they close he left and we took our business somewhere else. Customers want to feel welcomed, not reminded how unfortunate you are to have to lock the door right at 5:00.

Attinas is a great music store. I just very recently had a misunderstanding with the shop and the shop owner was still very flexible with dealing with a child. I just want to apologize for what i said and i will come personally to apologize. I highly advise attinas! Any misunderstanding you have with them will be taken care of by the hardworking dedicated workers there that have been working there for 52 years! They are reliable, understanding, and very professional. Highly advise !

It was obvious that my presence was causing discomfort to the manager/cashier/whatever. I was not allowed to play a certain Epiphone Les Paul (not even a Gibson) because ‘they wanted to keep it clean’. I am a frikin professional guitarist with 11 years of experience and no music stores have ever denied me of handling an instrument. Highly offending for a first time visitor’s impression.
Go to Guitar Center and avoid this place, you’ll be glad you did.

They were friendly, but we kinda felt they were stand offish because my husband was asking all kinds of questions and we kinda felt that they was tired of being asked the many questions that my husband asked. They had a low selection of items and we felt that we was being pushed out of the store because he asked us a few times if we was ready to check out. So after a few times of being asked we checked out and left. Not sure if we will be going back or if we will make the hour trip to Fayetteville for all of our needs.

My son damaged his saxophone 2 days before his Allstate Audition. How that happened is another story but I called Jackson music to see when it could be repaired. They told me it could take 2 to 3 days. I came the next morning and Doug, their repair guy, was gracious enough to come give it a quick evaluation on the spot. Although he was extremely busy between repairs for two different stores he told me he could fix it that same day. True to his word it was restored by end of day. Appreciate him going above and beyond!! This JM store has always provided great service to us!

Moved to the area last year from a big town and it was hard to find a music store with friendly staff and when I visted Mr Jerry Lee’s it was a blessing has everything I need and words of wisdom. I look forward to making this my store.

Guitar work not up to standard……

I will shop there, but they will not work on my guitars anymore, very friendly staff and knowledgeable, and can do basics, but anything beyond that is out of their ability, I had my guitar worked on twice and both times they failed in regards to proper setup and intonation of the bridge etc, I had my guitar tech in Florida spend several hours fixing what they didn’t properly and found that a neck screw was broken, and the intonation had never been be addressed as well as the appropriate setup of a tremolo on a middle of the road guitar not 5k but not $500 either, so I like them but they are not suited to take on intricate bridge work and setups of electric guitars and bridges in regards to proper technique and application.It’s cost me several hundred to get something done three times which should have taken only once to do. Again, it is a great place and kudos to them for their pleasantries and knowledge but just not cut out for the discriminate player and needs of particular equipment of guitars.

I bid 4000.00 on a Gibson Gold Top guitar listed at 4,999.00 . They countered my offer with 5,299.00?? I’ve never heard of anything like this.
The store counter to my offer was more than the original price?? That’s so wrong. Hoof luck dealing with these guys.

They had exactly what I was looking for in store. The staff was nice and took care of the necessary covid19 precautions by ensuring I used hand sanitizer and masked up before entering. The employee I spoke with told me exactly where to look to get what I needed. My only reason for giving it 4/5 stars is because I felt it was overpriced. Nice store though and very well organized.

I drive from Braselton to get drumsets..stands…snaredrums..pedals…snare cases. I have 5 drumsets so I always need something from your store ! worth the trip always !!

If I could give no stars, I would. My daughter found a violin ONLINE that she called this store and asked about. A friend of mine wanted to purchase it with his credit card and have it shipped as a gift to my daughter in Kansas. They refused to let him purchase it with his credit card and ship it somewhere besides his billing address. He called them, and I thought maybe he was just coming across harshly; therefore, I called them. I spoke to Josh (I think that was his name). He told me that they had someone arrested just last week for fraud, and shipping it out somewhere besides the billing address is a “red flag.” Really?? I asked to speak to a manager, and he said that they “manage themselves.” Interesting. I apologized that I would not be purchasing the violin from them, and his response? “We’ll survive.” All I can say is that my daughter’s violin won’t come from this place, nor will I recommend this place. You have products online, people. It is Christmas. They aren’t going to want to purchase something that they can’t ship to someone out of State. You’ll survive, though.

Also, just so the owner is also aware, Josh basically told my friend who planned to by the violin that he would like to have the conversation with my friend in Duluth, GA, and accused him of trying to pull a fast one on him. Over a violin? C’mon! He asked to speak to the owner, and Josh told him he would have to email the owner When my friend told him he was calling from Houston, he hung up on him.

I don’t think training is going to change the cocky attitude.

The selection of instruments was fantastic and the employees were very friendly and helpful. We picked up a nice Jackson “Shattered Mirror”. The reason for 2 stars is that they changed the price tag on it. Not the price, just the tag. The original tag was thick with price sticker over price sticker. This made it obvious that the guitar had been in the store a while. We left to get the money for it and when we got back it had a single sticker.
The problem is there is usually a little room to play on price. But I was.told that there was nothing they could do because they only had it for three days.
Why argue – it’s their house? We just wont visit again.

Went in today to buy a few picks around 12 this afternoon. After grabbing a few, I went to pay for them. The guy in front of me just bought an amp and left to get his car to load his equipment up. I was standing there waiting to pay for my stuff and the guy behind the counter (without even acknowledging me) just walked away. I can’t imagine he didn’t see me. I’ve shopped there off and on for years and I never go out of my way to leave bad reviews, but this place earned it. I teach guitar and used this place for books, picks, and other things. I’m very understanding towards employees in retail and usually won’t make an issue out of most things. But, I was completely ignored and I won’t refer my students to ever go to this place to pick up anything they may need.

Super friendly Super knowledgeable and really took great care of me. Had a problem with my guitar and Mitch figured it out. Zac was super helpful and wasnt there just to sell me something. I love smaller stores like this- no big box attitude – just good down to earth great people! Thank you!!

I brought a violin bow in for repair but it was broken in the process.. Gwinnett Discount Music gave me a brand spanking new bow for free for the inconvenience. And they also helped me with my violin bridge issue. Thanks for the help! I will return in the future.

I can never get a call back from this place. In person, the service is great but they have had my son’s instrument for 3 weeks and no one will return my calls. Very disappointed.

I purchased a flute from here, one year ago, in hopes that my daughter would do well with it. Unfortunately, after a year that has not been the case. I contacted the store in hopes of transitioning her into another horn but the owner was unwilling to work with me at all, even though I’m a past customer. Therefore, I do not recommend this store.

Dave is amazing and never disappoints. Looking for an honest people is hard but I’m here to tell you, Dave and his staff are wonderful. If I could rate higher I would! 10 ‘s

Donley’s , always, customer service above par but their repair tech did not mirror Donley’s reputation AT ALL. MY 9YR old niece offered to try a repair. I will probably get the same visual “quality” result BUT WOULD SAVE $100.

I tried to buy ernie ball regular slinkys and they put ernie ball super slinkys in my bag while I wasn’t paying attention. Poor selection of accessorys.

Bought a guitar from them. Took it home only to notice that a string’s intonantion was off and the neck was too straight. Took it back for them to fix it only to find that they didn’t fix it at all. Took it back a second time and asked them to fix the intonation only for them to, once again, not intonate it but merely tried to tune it. Ended up having to intonate it myself.

What does it say about a guitar store that can’t even intonate a guitar properly given two opportunities?

Horrible, shady business practices! I got home with a mandolin I bought and noticed a pickguard had been attached and removed, leaving small holes in the neck and body of the instrument. I was told over the phone there was hardly a scratch and the instrument was in near mint condition. They flat-out lied. This depreciates the value of the mandolin almost completely. They knew this was the case, and just plain deceived me. Sure, I should have inspected it before I left, but I don’t expect people dealing with musical instruments to be shady the way they are. I’m extremely disappointed and appalled that people in the music industry act like this when so many good people are involved with music. why can people not just treat others how they want to be treated?

Stopped by to check out a very cheap guitar, ended up with a great guitar that the friendly lad out front marked down by 40% so I could afford it. Told me a little about the work they do and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. These folks are doing such important work, and on top of that, they’re friendly, kind, and work with you to make sure everyone gets to share in the gift of music. It’s out of my way, but I’ll certainly be back!

I bought my acoustic guitar from here and the people there were really helpful

My daughter started taking Piano and Voice lessons in October 2012, She has Ms Postell for Piano and Ms Katherine for Voice. Our family has no musical talent in our past generations and we just wanted to expose our daughter to a new world, to which we had very little skill.
I cannot begin to express how grateful we are to the these two ladies. They make learning music fun, interesting and they are both able to impart knowledge in a kind, patient and jovial manner.
At Jennings they also put on Recitals, where the children could exhibit what they have learned. These recitals also allows us to set goals and help our daughter achieve them, this makes her very happy to see what she can accomplish.
Being able to perform in front of an audience has made my daughter stronger and has given her confidence, she is more outgoing.
The folks at Jennings create a nurturing and caring environment.(May 2013)

Great place to find music, lessons, and instruments! Top notch!

Edit: I was called the day of this review and my issues resolved within the week. I have never received such a quick response to a complaint and it counts for a lot in my mind. I can tell that their reputation and customer satisfaction is important. I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt regarding my previous experiences and change my review. I’m not sure why the ball was dropped previously but they made sure to fix the problem and apologize. Everyone makes mistakes but their willingness to take responsibility and handle the situation was refreshing.

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!! I signed up for a lease to own plan for a bass at this store. The plan is supposed to include repairs and a size upgrade because my son is 13 and still growing. About 8 months into the plan the bridge was broken on the bass (a simple fix) and I was told to expect 3 weeks for repairs. 3 weeks turned into several months. I had to start going in person everyday and basically harassing the staff to give him his bass. They never gave him his bass back. They gave him a very beat up bass and told me not to worry about the appearance as he would not keep this bass and would have one in better condition once the contract was up as the size would be upgraded. However, once I took the bass home to my son he informed me that this bass was smaller than the original one he was given and so he couldn’t practice at all. I informed the store of this in August, it is now January. The store is completely unresponsive and unless I start harassing them again, they’ll leave me with a product I can’t use but still charge me monthly for it.

Nice store. Very friendly and helpful. If I ever consider leasons for anything, I’d definitely consider them.

Way over priced !!!!! My son in high school needed a mouth piece for his instrument. Jennings wanted to charge almost $70. You can get them for $20 in Kennesaw and YES they are acceptable and standard in the class room. Wow! I am so tired of this area trying to over charge.

These people were extremely rude and impatient this evening. I was trying to reach a salesman that left another store. I need a cello but I will not buy from these people. Instead of trying to sell me something they simply hung up in my face. I called right back thinking it was a mistake and they were not kind. They lack good communication skills and have no customer service skills at all. I was expecting them to say, “… the person you are looking for does not work here but we would love to assist you with a purchase”.

We love it here! Absolutely outstanding service with a passionate owner, staff, gifted musicians and instructors! And best of all…Stan’s Music is local. It’s here where I purchased my first Martin guitar and violin. There will be more. Thank you for the kindness you extend to everyone and the many different ways you make our community better!

Good selection of guitars and accessories. Keyboards – not so much (there were literally 2 on the floor and not the best quality). Should be called “Stan’s Guitar World.”

Even though I was actually looking for a keyboard, guitar prices were decent and I might have bought one if anyone had tried to help me.

I really wanted to ask about equipment rentals as well since I was only in town for a short while, but again, service wasn’t part of the display.

The staff member at the register was so preoccupied in conversation with another customer that I wasn’t even greeted when I came in, and he didn’t even bother with a “come again soon” when I left angry after about 10min of looking around and waiting.

This is the reason people skip over local small businesses to shop at national chains – like that “other” guitar store

I have been in the store a few times and have had the pleasure of working with Cailey. Although she was busy, she took the time to answer all my questions and help me with things I was unsure about. Even though I had to wait while she helped and took care of other customers, I appreciated how focused she was on each customer. I highly recommend this store and will bring all my musical purchases and repairs to Cailey.

Tyler exemplifies customer service at its finest. I went in today looking for strings and a case for my sad guitar that has been sitting in my closet for over 10 years. He sold me strings and a case. When I told him my concerns about my guitar, he encouraged me to bring it up and let him help me with the strings. I went back up with my guitar– He helped restore life to my guitar. He changed all the strings while reminding me/showing me how to do it. I wound up buying a tuner, a strap, a cloth and cleaning spray for the body. All things I needed and had lost along the way. Thank you, Tyler for being an excellent salesman but mainly for offering the finest customer service I’ve seen in a long time. I’ll be back for all my music needs.

We have purchased from here and we also get lessons from here. The instructor is awesome and the staff is always friendly and ready to help. Not a huge selection but they do have plenty to get you started out they can order what you need. When I drop my kid off for lessons it’s a perfect time to get groceries in the Walmart.

They helped purchase the wrong size violin for my daughter the first time in person. Then when I ordered a 2nd one on the website they cancelled my order without even letting me know. When I called them I was told there was nothing that could be done.

The lady who waited on us basically turned us down on every option we had to schedule a fitting for an instrument. She didn’t have very good customer service skills. Seems if she wanted our business she would have said “let me see when we can do this for you”. I realize it is a busy time of year but it is not the customer’s fault. I called the Johnson’s Ferry store in Marietta and was met with a much friendlier response.

(I ordered online, not blaming this location.)

I recently had the unfortunate experience of ordering a keyboard, keyboard stand, and stool from Music and Arts, and I must say that my overall experience was nothing short of a nightmare. From start to finish, this company has displayed a complete lack of competence and customer service, leaving me frustrated and furious.

First and foremost, the lack of transparency regarding the availability of the items I ordered is inexcusable. It wasn’t until I called them in late January to inquire about my order that I was informed about the backorder situation. I wasted over a month eagerly waiting for my package, completely unaware that it wasn’t even close to being shipped.

Finally, in late March, I received the keyboard, but to my utter disbelief, there was no sign of the promised stand or stool. Naturally, I contacted their customer service department to rectify the situation, only to be met with complete apathy and indifference. They claimed that they couldn’t help and that I wouldn’t receive the missing items. This level of disregard for their customers is absolutely appalling.

To my surprise, a month later, I received a second shipment containing another keyboard, stand, and stool. At this point, I was beyond frustrated. Instead of providing clear communication and instructions, Music and Arts remained silent. I waited, hoping they would reach out to resolve the situation, but instead, I received an invoice in the mail, demanding payment for the duplicate order.

Determined to resolve the matter, I called customer service once again to explain the ongoing issues. Initially, they assured me that I wouldn’t be charged and that everything was under control. However, my hopes were crushed when, a month later, I discovered that they had charged my credit card for yet another keyboard. This not only angered me but also meant that I would have to pay interest on an item I never even wanted in the first place.

Attempting to rectify the situation, I contacted their customer service yet again, only to be met with further frustration. They insisted that they would not process a refund until I returned the unwanted items, putting the burden on me to take time out of my schedule to deal with returning their mistakes to UPS. This added insult to injury, as it is their responsibility to resolve their own errors promptly.

To make matters even worse, the following day, I received a bill from a collections agency, demanding payment for the keyboard that I had never authorized. It is unfathomable that Music and Arts would make an unauthorized purchase on my credit card, showcasing their complete lack of professionalism and respect for their customers.

All in all, my experience with Music and Arts has been nothing short of a nightmare. They have consistently demonstrated incompetence, apathy, and a complete disregard for their customers’ time and money. Not only did they fail to provide the items I ordered in a timely manner, but they also made unauthorized charges on my credit card and showed no urgency in resolving the matter. I strongly advise anyone considering doing business with Music and Arts to steer clear and find a more reputable company that values its customers. Music and Arts, you truly suck!
