Super nice dude.Very accommodating as and knowledgeable helping me out while I was passing througb
Dave is truly the best guitar instructor in the region. He directs instruction to the musical genre preferences of the student and provides hands on learning as well as solid theoretical constructs. Both my son and I take lessons from him and have had a lot of fun and skill development under his tutelage.
Dave is awesome! He really knows his stuff, he is a natural teacher and is very friendly and great to be around. It doesn’t matter if your brand new or have played for years he can make you a better player.
Canon City is lucky to have him.
The staff members at Meeker Music are very knowledgeable and friendly. They have serviced my son’s instrument, and directed him to good reeds and fun sheet music. As a music teacher myself, I know Meeker Music doesn’t always have the lowest price, but the prices are reasonable and the product is always quality.
The customer service was super
Its a nice music store the people that work there were very kind and very nice and very helpful I appreciate that a lot I took the time to help you with everything you needed
The ladies were very helpful on instructing us which reed to purchase for my daughter’s saxa phone.
A good selection of musical instruments or to get advice from the musical community. They do lessons as well
Purchased a Yamaha flute with a rebate. Rebate never came.
For a music store, not many options for accessories for electric guitars
Over this place and their terrible customer service. There staff is so unfriendly and lazy. After 5 years of patience with their staff, I can’t handle it anymore.
We needed a larger instrument and the lady tried to say we would be fine with the size down. When we explained that our daughter’s teacher said she needed the larger size, she was upset because she had to go upstairs for it. I’m not even joking.
Not only that, we were given an instrument with a broken case because they didn’t have a proper one on hand. They suggest I sew it myself. They later replaced it after that one broke and I had to follow up on the previous replacement.
Any time we’ve been in the store, we have been greeted with ignorance and rude attitudes. I won’t even get into the recent situation but I have had it and will never rent or purchase from meeker music again. What a terrible establishment.

Musically, I go by the name of Tim Hillwood, and I purchased a guitar almost a couple years back from Jeff. It’s opened up my playing. It sounds great, and if you’re looking at getting a guitar that you’ll be glad you purchased many years later, this might be the place for you. Jeff Bamburg is at the top levels of his craft, and it shows.
Great quality goods , friendly atmosphere. Always worth a stop!
Exquisite selection of handcrafted, colorado-made acoustic guitars, mandolins, banjos, ukuleles & more. In beautiful downtown Salida, Colorado.

Very good shop very helpful I have bought and sold with this shop. Outstanding repairs at very reasonable prices. So nice to have a local music shop
This place is amazing! The staff is super friendly and helpful. Amazing inventory. Beautiful just beautiful!
Chris was very helpful and accommodating even if i was a day early for his shipment…
I drove over an hour and a half to salida to go this shop and nothing else. I got there, and they were closed at least two hours early. Better call before you go, apparently they don’t keep the hours they post.

Really cool and friendly. I find what I’m looking for Everytime I go in
This is a particularly good place to find great deals on used drum equipment!
In and out. Seemed like a great place though
Nice staff but felt majorly ripped off on an item I sold to them. I guess I could have just sold it myself though.
Good selection of really cool guitars and other musical equipment. The young fellas helping me could use a little customer service training but otherwise a hidden gem of a store.
Decent enough selection of electric guitars. Ok selection of keyboards. I think the store is worth stopping by.
I was not impressed with their cellos and violins. (Acoustic room in general). I understand they are used instruments, but half of their selection was missing strings, and strings so loose it was unplayable.
Overall, the store is worth checking out if you just love instruments.
They act like they don’t want me there, weird way to do business.Ive bought a guitar several pedals cases and strings there,as well as selling those things to them. Now the new people ignore me when I want to buy things or to inquire about it.I was going to buy a 2×12 speaker and boss delay,as the salesman was supposed to get the pedal out of the case, someone else came and started talking to him he and just talked to him and left me standing there. But it’s a good thing because they wanted $20 less for a model dd-6 than what I can get a dd-8 for brand new!
Rude service.
Bought a mpc for 200 a month ago, went to trade it in and they offered so little and said they would resell it for 150. So I got ripped off a month ago barely used the item . Used to be a awesome spot to trade old gear but I’ll just sell it myself and get more.. super disappointing will not buy here again. To think I recommended this place to so many fellow musicians
This place is great, cool stuff and the man that was there was awesome; very informative and hugely talented. Webwill be back
Excellent place to shop for musical equipment in Woodland Park. Hector and Shannon are friendly and very knowledgeable on the product line they carry and instruments. They are A plus when it comes to customer service. I recommend everyone locally to stop in even if you are not a musician. They have great souvenirs and unusual gift items for those who love music.
Hours say they are open online. Darkness. Will get my gear in springs tomorrow.
I had a horrible experience at this store. The lady at the counter found 2 seconds to get off her phone to say hello and then proceeded to stay on her phone the remainder of the time I was in the store and ignored me as I greeted her and asked her how her day was going. The store had very little to look at but I did happen to find a guitar pedal that I’ve been searching for a while. When I asked if I could test it she seemed annoyed I made her take time away from her phone and she then asked in a rude tone am I going to buy one. I was confused at her tone and replied yes. She then proceeded to put on a fake smile but the damage was done. When she asked which one I told her I was no longer interested and left the store. This store needs to retrain there people on customer service.
Response to review:
Hi there, my name is Shannon the owner of Rocky n Roll Music. I am also the person you wrote about in this review. We are a small business owned and operated by my husband and I, and do not tolerate misinformation about our business. You are clearly a reviewer looking to damage small businesses.
You should consider shopping at big box corporate retailers instead of attempting to damage our small business that has an outstanding reputation within our community.
Response to comment from owner:
If this is misinformation then why did you not make it a point to defend yourself against any of the points I stated? You being a local mom and pop business does not make you immune to bad criticism when you give customers a bad experience. I’ve worked in retail for a number of years and try and go out of my way to support local business. This is extremely unprofessional to reply to complaints in this manner. Playing the victim after a negative interaction on your part is not becoming of you. I do wish your business the best of luck with all of your endeavors but I hope you can take this review with a grain of salt and do better with your customer service.
11. Moondog Music Shop
Address: 1716 W Uintah St, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 , Fremont County , Colorado , United States
I love Moondog Music. Mike is the best! The only person he treats unfairly is himself. I can’t get him to charge me enough for his service on my guitars and mandolin.
Great place with some awesome guitars!
Excellent service and a great price
Everyone says this place is always closed when they say that they will be open. Well unfortunately that is the reality I too have experienced. Multiple times I’ve tried to visit during posted operating hours but I can never seem to catch the store open. I’ll keep trying though maybe they need some extra help like a part time employee. We need local musical instrument stores or all there’s gonna be is guitar center.
Not that great, I went in there with high expectations and came out disappointed. First, I got blatantly ignored, the person who worked there was talking to another person and didn’t acknowledge my existence, He didn’t say anything like ”I’ll be with you in one moment” NOTHING! I stood there awkwardly for about 10 minutes, finally the guy stopped catching up with the other customer and got to me quite UN- enthusiastically.
Was a pain trying to find parking and got there at 5:25pm on a Friday which means they should have been open till 6pm. me and my buddy just wanted strings guess I’ll skip this place next time I just wanted to help a small business out oh well.
2nd time I’ve stopped by during advertised open hours and shop is closed. I mentioned this to a friend and he laughed… Apparently it’s pretty difficult to figure out their schedule even though it’s posted on their front window and on the internet. He told me that’s definitely their reputation around town. Maybe it’s an amazing shop. I keep trying to find out.
12. Meeker Music
Address: 3604 Hartsel Dr Unit E, Colorado Springs, CO 80920 , Fremont County , Colorado , United States
Very professional and helpful. Good attention to detail.
Great little store.
Limited selection at this location. Staff is eager to send you downtown for things they don’t have at this location.
Great customer service
Great for beginners. Not a pro shop by any means.
The trend continues. Like many others have said in their reviews, I experienced horrible customer service the older lady working here!
We paid for the higher tier (tier B) for the school year, went to turn in our instrument and use our credits. The lady looked up our rental, saw our tier because she processed our deposit refund, didn’t ask any questions, and said all done! I then asked about how the credits work….because why would someone pay for the higher tier to NOT use the money they accumulated intentionally?? She just stared at me! I’m assuming she expected me to be as informed as her…? I asked her again. She responded short and snooty, if I wanted to use my credits, she would have to reverse the returned she just processed. Had I been a trained employee I would’ve known this and avoided her the 60 seconds of work. I explained to her that when we came in the first (and only) time, to rent, that we were encouraged to go with the more expensive tier and revert to the lower tier if we end up not being interested in using the credits toward an instrument and that they would helps us when we came back at the end of the year. Unfortunately instead of help, she was argumentative. She continued sternly warning me that I can’t use my credits on just any instrument, but ONLY on the orchestra instruments. I believe this was different information then I was given the first time we came in but by this time my son and I are feeling so uncomfortable and burdensome that I look over and he’s just shaking his head like get me out of here. So I just gave up and said thanks and we left. Over $100 in the trash. What’s the point in having these two tiers?? Maybe you can do right by my son and tell us how your credit policy works so he can get his instrument!!
I don’t get by this store often but two weeks ago we purchased an item at the store and today I was back in the area and brought it back for an exchange and to make an additional purchase. Their return policy is a firm 7 days and my purchase was 15 days. Just make sure you purchase the right item as you won’t be able to exchange or return after 7 days. Their policy is clearly written on the receipt once I looked but it was still disappointing.
I’m quite happy to be free of this business.
I rented a keyboard to test interest with my daughter before purchasing one of our own.
I found it strange that their policy required me to fill out paperwork with a credit/debit card number complete with CVV in the year 2023 on a paper form, rather than reading the card for secure storage in an online system. I had never done this before but complied with the request. Two days later fraudulent charges showed up on my card account.
The particular unit I rented was set up as a floor model. The sales associate, when dismantling the setup, walked away from the wall with keyboard in hand, without unplugging it. This pulled the power cord sharply where it joined the keyboard and shattered the connector. While I saw the drama unfold, I didn’t know this part was broken at the time, as the associate quickly sealed the keyboard in the box and pushed paperwork under my nose, requiring me to confirm the keyboard condition. I was told the unit was brand new and so there was no need for me to inspect its condition. It appears the associate, after making an honest mistake, elected to leave the damage for me to deal with rather than do the right thing.
After I took the keyboard home and discovered the damage, a different associate at the store completed a new condition report for me the following day, so that I would not be held liable for the damage upon returning the keyboard.
While the keyboard remained in my possession it continued to work despite the shattered connector. However, if you’re renting a keyboard here, you might want to check it over before signing the condition report regardless of your associate’s claims or hurried attempts to seal any instrument in a box.
When I rented, I was told, and was provided paperwork to confirm, that a two month minimum rental was required. Further, I would pay for the first month up front and a deposit that, weirdly, would be applied to the second month. I would not be charged again until the beginning of the third month.
After the broken connector, I was already distressed by my experience with the store. The fraudulent charges appearing on my card finalized my decision that I would not be renting beyond the minimum of two months according to the contract I signed.
Strike three came when I returned the keyboard at the end of the two months. My account was in good standing according to the terms of the contract with no further money owed by me. However, this time a third associate who received the keyboard from me very carefully phrased that the only thing left to do was for her to collect payment from me for the second month. How many people actually fall for this? I made it clear that I was familiar with the terms of the contract I signed and that I would be offering no further money.
I walked out for the last time, satisfied with myself for not having provided my new card number to this particular vendor after having to change it and update other vendors two months prior.
Professional and honestly really fun, all of my sessions so far have been home runs
Reece is probably one of the most amazing talented guys I’ve ever met. Whatever you need, he will figure out how to do it one way or another. Much love
Great guy to work with, and at a great rate. Thanks reece!

I just moved to Colorado from California a few months ago, and I was looking around for a good music store to buy guitar strings, and other accessories. Anyway, I found this place. I went in for a simple restring set up for my acoustic guitar. The owner, Cordell was super chill, and easy going. We talked about music for a little bit while he did the set up on my guitar. He was very knowledgeable, and informative. Excellent customer service. I definitely recommend others to check this place out. You will recieve quality service. This place is great!
Wonderful small business, run by a husband and wife. They are the nicest people, and they have a really cool locally made instrument/gear section that I have not seen anywhere else in town.
Just bought an Ibanez bass guitar from them at a really great price. Cordell was super helpful in making sure that everything worked the way it should and that it would fit my needs. Very happy with my purchase and will definitely buy my consumables from Square moving forward
Dead business. No one answered the door, or phone during normal business hours. Would have liked to drop some $$$ on a local business, but I guess I’ll go to another major retailer.

Friendly atmosphere they had every guitar I could ever dream of…love that they carry Charvel definitely like to see more Khalers possibly some more signature models like Jeff hanneman JH600..or Yngwie Malmsteen maybe a Dave Murray or Adrian Smith Strat.. would love to see a Dave Mustaine signature model of one of the companies he’s been with LOL but thank you very much for the hospitality I’ll be back I was given a handshake when all I bought was strings and said thanks for coming in
Great service and knowledgeable staff. Rich is the MAN!
Professional and knowledgeable staff. They do a great job of setting up my guitars as well.
Went in a few months ago and mentioned I was looking for a decent guitar on a budget. I was sold a Korean model Ibanez S series which plays and sounds very well for about $300.00 complete with a soft case. About 45 days later I picked up a older Jackson which was out of whack and needed adjustment. I took it to Richard who was able to order the tremolo bar I needed, retro fitted it and fully adjusted the guitar so it was much easier to play. I can’t argue the prices since stores need to make money, that’s the whole point. The service is just fine, the selection of multiple instruments is very nice and the guy’s who work there are friendly. Richard done a great job dialing in my Jackson. Thumbs up bitches!!
Great selections
Always good to go in and see my old bandmates Howie and Richard! Prices are great and selection is awesome!
Aweful! Just awful. My husband used to work there, went to them when he passed away from Cancer to resell some of his gear he left us, the offered WAY less than market value. Don’t sell your gear there.
The quote only covered 10 pieces, didn’t account for the rest. NOT ok. Felt scammed.
And if that wasn’t enough, the manager raised his voice to me when I said no to the offer. The other guys there were incredibly helpful though in unloading and loading the two car fulls of equipment. I think that was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I’ll never ever go back! Not ever.
If you want to give away your money then go here. They can’t figure out our rental agreement to save there life. Bu the time they figured out how much longer we had on our rental we had the onstrument paid off and they kept charging us even after that. What a hastle.
Guitar tech sucks
19. Guitar Center
Address: 535 N Academy Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80909 , Fremont County , Colorado , United States
I had my electric repaired and purchased a few items. Helpful and efficient employees. Affordable repair and good insight into some gear I needed.
Was looking for Gibson Hummingbird guitar , stopped in to Guitar Center. Was impressed with their collection of guitars. Including Gibson Hummingbirds.
Super selection of guitars
Small. Great technician. You can kick it and talk gear or riffs and such for days man. Solid spot
It’s ok, but local shops are better. The people at the local shops tend to know more about the gear, and they usually play.
Good prices
Employees leave the impression to customers as being mentally handicapped.
Handicapped being a more polite word for retarded. Entire staff at this location would be more qualified to work as walmart door greeters since they clearly have no knowledge of products or musical instruments.
Used products are broken and missing parts to make them functional yet will be priced well above full retail.
In fact any customer that walks in with a smart phone can simply google search any item in store and instantly save 25% to 50% or more buying same items at advertised price and shipped from anywhere else.
Literally any brick and mortar retail and any internet retailer will have same products for less.
So why shop here? No reason at all.
Save your gas and time and don’t.
Thank me later or don’t say I didn’t warn you.
This Guitar Center shouldn’t even receive 1 star.
Hope not all the packages come like this.
Horrible experiece sales force and mgnt are incompetent, I had payment in full on the counter and they could not place the order. $500+ sale. More interested in selling picks. This is the 3rd day I have tried to make this purchase. I would like to speak to senior mgnt but could not get a contact.
20. Graner School of Music
Address: 4460 Barnes Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80917 , Fremont County , Colorado , United States
Mr.Bob was so patient with my son. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in session learning from him.
22 years ago i rented a violin from Graner. Now I’m a working opera singer. Graner has always been my go to for anything music, even when i lived out of town. Between instrument repairs, rentals, practice spaces…. this store is a staple in the Colorado Springs music scene.
I love this place, everyone is friendly, everything is well-priced, and the drumhead and stick selection are top notch as long as you’re not looking for Remo heads (I’m an Evans guy, so not a problem). I would far rather go here than Meeker.
Great service, very helpful!
Great place for kids to get musical lessons, voice lessons and books and instruments. They also do repairs here
Very helpful. Explained all contracts well, good with kids, instructors onsite. Staff helpful.
The rental process is a scam.
BUYER BEWARE when renting/purchasing instruments through the schools. Predatory business practices during Covid pandemic.. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
The people who work here are complete elitists. If you don’t have a $15k instrument they will repeatedly refer to your instrument as “cheap” and make comments like “If you ever want to upgrade to a decent instrument make sure you come back and see us.” My instrument is $2k so perhaps in the grand scheme of things it is on the lower end, but I don’t at all understand their sales tactic of trying to belittle you and your instrument. It was such a poor experience, both in-store and on the phone. Go someplace that doesn’t make you feel less than.
