Excellent local music shop with a nice cozy atmosphere. And Chad is a solid dude who genuinely wants to help you find what you’re looking for, even when you’re not sure what you’re looking for yourself.
The best local music shop in town, lots of
Instruments, and great layout for music lovers
I just started to play so I went and bought a guitar and the dude there was awesome and had a few budget friendly guitars and amps
I can’t speak highly enough of the quality of the zampona I received from the maker Ramos. I’m sure all the makers are of high quality if you choose a different one. I found the front lower row challenging to get a sound at first but after a little practice the sound came. Best of luck to everyone and thank you so much to the makers of the zampona and the pan flute store. My quenacho from them is also of really nice quality and interesting/challenging to learn. Also, the soft cases that come with them are really beautiful and would easily cost $15+ if purchased separately. Thank you thank you
5. Bill’s Music On The Mile
Address: 2312 Pacific Ave, Stockton, CA 95204 , French Camp , California , United States
Called in and guy made the stereo rental very simple. Havent picked up yet but will update if anything unexpected…
Been going here for years. Mark is very helpful. Great place to go.
Great customer service! He knows his stuff Always gives the best deal! Honest and trustworthy knowledgable people. Hardly anymore shops like this around
Three stars because its local and dindt want to hurt em with the 1.5 star I feel Is deserved for this work. Might be different for other services.
Here is why:
Sadly, my loving wife took my professional trumpet bell to them for a bent bell repair as a birthday present.
The store repairman was shocked that I dismantled the bell from the rest of the $2500 professional model horn.
He didnt know that I’m building a custom horn.
He was just disgusted.
Well first of all it’s my horn to do what I like with, I didn’t buy from them!
I was excited to have a “professional” fix the bent bell and dinged mark’s because they would do a better job than me! I understood that there would be crease mark’s from the repair. I didnt expect scratches a d uneven repair and dents to be left in.
I play professionally part time and am building a custom two bell trumpet from and out of other exspensive trumpets. I want a pro horn when Imdone and am using pro horns I like, to build it out of! I e worked with metal and am proficient in welding and soldering.
$32 to fix the bell was very reasonable! I’ve been quoted $50 elsewhere and have seen great work for that price in Oakland and they even cleaned and polished for that price.
But finally got my bell back today and the work I see is not great. It will all have to be redone.
It looks to me that no pride in workmanship was taken and his disgust in my taking the horn apart was perceived as not caring.
I fricking care a lot!
Complete waste of time and money. And no I dont want to go back and give em a chance to make the bell worse.
Tried to give local store work and keep it in my town. But dont take a pro brass instrument to a guitar shop and expect to have quality work done.
Now I’ll have to ship it out someplace probably out of state because the guy in Oakland retired.
My project delayed now even longer!
#family business #small business . The guys that run this shoppe are the best! Super helpful and unlike the old regime. The manager usually means the front while the owner does repairs. The selection is not large but the service makes up for it. Especially recommended for instrument rentals and school instrument repair.
I went to this place because I have a Ukelele to fix it. I believe the owner help me whit it and I how this place has diferente instrument, and he rent too. If he do not have something he can orther for you. Nice place!
Extremely rude, very poor customer service. Expert at music, immature level of social interaction. He even directed his impatience towards my 9 year old sister. Overall: es un pinche cerote come-mierda racista!
Very strange place. Mumbling person up front, just woke up i guess
Terrible employees who dont know about guitars or any instruments in general. These guys walk around looking like tools and douche bags acting like their gods its seriously pathetic how big their ego is. If any of you are thinking of going here simply because its nearby, avoid it
6. Janis Music Co.
Address: 138 W Yosemite Ave, Manteca, CA 95336 , French Camp , California , United States
This place is awesome! I came here recently to buy my very first guitar and they were very nice and informative. They have a great knowledge of instruments and many of my friends have even purchased instruments from them before. I haven’t been to many music stores, but this has got to be one of the best in Manteca!
George is a very sweet guy. Always great customer service.
Never been here but I’m giving this man a five star 😀
Rude, dishonest, and unprofessional. They have been rude to customers for years and I never believed it until experiencing it first hand. They have a terrible work ethic, with no sense of urgency. Janis music does not honor their word. If you have a choice, go anywhere else, like Legend Music. Unless you enjoy being treated poorly, then Janis is the place for you.
So disrespectful and mean, don’t know how to talk to people and over priced!!!
rude
7. Clancy’s Music
Address: 7303 Pacific Ave, Stockton, CA 95207 , French Camp , California , United States
Great place to fullfil your musical needs and the music teacher there is one of the best around town.
Great staff, knowledgeable, and prices are great!!! They’re even fixing my moms 56 year old violin for my daughter!!! Rentals available also! This place is AWESOME!!!
Owner was very attentive. Answered our questions. Large selection. Good prices.
Generally quick service for simple repairs and fair prices. Used instruments for reasonable prices. But selection is limited for anything not guitar or ukulele.
I’ll give the store the benefit of the doubt. It’s a new store and the guy who runs it is knowledgeable and nice. The selection isn’t vast but the prices are fair. Has a grand opening coming up soon with reps from Ibanez and others. Hopefully that helps him stock up!
A small place i am not sure what supplies it has friendly person who runs the place.
Guitar
Waited in line for about 20 minutes before
They don’t have good stuff. It’s like a place for beginners. Didn’t have what I needed either.
The staff was really nice and helped me pick my first guitar last year on my birthday and I plan on getting another some times this year to. Definitely will come back here again
best music store ive been to
It had good guitars.
Small store with new and used musical equipment. Repairs and lessons available.
Limited selection.
It was ok. Bought some guitar picks as I was down to my last 2 that were half worn. Heard some guitarist that was struggling and anemic in skills. An epidemic of laziness where people rely on Apps, not real practice.
Do not purchase from this store! (see update below)
I purchased a product online and was told that it would be priority shipped via usps (1-3 days). I called each day to ensure they had actually shipped the product ande the staff outright lied to me. The product did not even leave the store until 4 days AFTER They lied and said they shipped it and was not shipped priority.
The product was ordered in PLENTY TIME to arrive on time for the event but because of the employees incompetence and outright lies the event was ruined.
**UPDATE**
After speaking to the store manager they were able to provide a partial refund which considering the situation was a reasonable offer. I have made this a 3 star review as there is clearly still an issue with the way staff handle shipping though I think that this will probably improve with some training and better internal communication.
They took 5 days to ship a small package. The label was created but the package was not given to USPS until 5 days later. I called on the 3rd and they told me USPS had not picked it up. I called again on the 5th day and they told me the package was dropped at USPS the day after the purchase which is a lie. Take responsibility for not shipping the item instead of bluntly lying.
My son wanted an acoustic guitar for his birthday. Unfortunately we picked the wrong time to go because some old dude who reeked of pee was jamming out on base. Hard to hear what an acoustic guitar sounds like with that going..oh well..took our business down to clancy’s
This place is a ripoff. The tubes for my $700 amp cost $130 a set and they offered me $200 for this tsl601 marshall
