I love this place! Always great prices and nice staff. I stop here every time I’m in fruit cove
Great place for finding treasures.
This store is set up and maintained like a boutique – but has the best prices of all the local thrift stores! Kudos to the staff and volunteers.
A wide variety of used items. Great cause. Fun place to peruse if you like thrift stores.
I like that it organized. Would like to see more discount days for Miilitary/Veterans, Seniors, and First Responders. I’d definitely consider shopping here more often and supporting local if I feel supported too.
Hit and miss but the money goes for a good cause so you can’t beat that!
This place has changed 100%. I don’t understand what happend. Smh.
Holly and the other staff were extremely rude and made my experience shopping there literally terrible. Will NEVER be returning.
Nice lay out but employees take the good stuff. Don’t donate if you think you are helping battered women. Better charities and nicer people out there. Many items are WAY OVER PRICED! But they have to make up the money somewhere.
9. Starbucks
Address: 495 State Rd 13, Fruit Cove, FL 32259 , Fruit Cove , Florida , United States
Coffee was great this morning, exactly as requested. Thanks Starbucks!
A newer location that always makes the drinks right! Love it
Always has what I want.
Typically Starbucks
Good but pricy.
Staff always rude, orders take forever to get
I will never come back here again. They closed their doors because they were too busy and said you could do a mobile order. Then they would not let me in to pick up my mobile order and I had to go to the drive-through and wait in the line. Worst experience ever.
The staff working the mobile orders this morning had no hustle. There was a group of about 15 people waiting on thier drink orders. I waited for about 20 minutes after I ordered 5 to 10 minutes in advance. The Starbucks on Old St Augustine by the hospital is much better staffed.
10. Rhapsody Music Inc
Address: 1820 State Rd 13, Jacksonville, FL 32259 , Fruit Cove , Florida , United States
They are so kind and loving to all instruments that go in! It’s a little bit of a drive for me to go there but it’s completely worth it. My trombone came out amazing from there and my professor brings all the school instruments there. All-in-all if you want your next music shop you can trust especially for wind instruments this is the place!
Great experience shopping here, fair prices and great service.
Good customer service
He repaired my trumpet acceptably, but he under-estimated $10 short of double the price I paid. Less than two weeks later, an Issue similar to the one I had repaired manifested due to allignment issues. If you need a mouthpiece removed, though, he’ll do that!
I took my step daughters trumpet to be repaired there are they weren’t very direct on giving me a quote for the repairs. I ended up driving further to Music and Arts and they were very helpful and direct with their pricing. Not a big fan of this place but it’s ok if you need something in a pinch.
Very overpriced. When I went in there to buy a Hercules Saxophone stand, the price was $62.99. I ended up buying and realized later that it was cheaper online for an average of $45. I went back to try and return it but he refused to refund my money. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. HE IS TRYING TO RIP YOU OFF, DO NOT BUY HERE. You are better off shopping for it online.
I called to inquire about the price of cleaning a trombone and did not have a pleasant experience. When I expressed sticker shock at the price, the owner, Mr. Robert became defensive and rude. I have not had to have an instrument cleaned and was unaware of the cost. I called around to other businesses and received a little better pricing and a much better attitude.
I have been waiting over there weeks for a simple repair, would strongly not recommend you go here for repairs!
11. Brass Tacks Coffee Co.
Address: 119 Bartram Oaks Walk, Fruit Cove, FL 32259 , Fruit Cove , Florida , United States
I’ve been visiting Brass Tacks Coffee pretty much on a daily basis since they’ve opened the Fruit Cove location, and I have to say the staff and the coffee and breakfast menus are top tier and quite delicious! The staff is always very friendly and always seem to go above and beyond to make the experience great! I recommend this coffee shop a 100%!
Cheers!
Friendly staff, amazing drinks
I love this place. Never a bad experience.
No metal spoons for my cappuccino, only have plastic and don’t see bothered by it. Ordered non-fat cap, got an oat milk cap, which was pretty good considering how average brass tacks beans are
laid back local coffee shop… like most its pricey, but the iced coffee choices are good and their biscuit sandwiches are the best. Coffee is always quick, with food taking longer. People have always been personable when I’ve been there.
Good value coffee spot in old Starbucks.
So I wanted to like this coffee shop while I explore Jacksonville coffee shops and if I hadn’t come back the first day I would of left a good review.
Day 1 4/4/23: I asked for a white mocha cold brew 50/50 almond milk but blended and a pretzel. They happily made it all and it came out perfect was happy.
Day 2: 4/5/23: Different staff asked for the same drink. Was told we won’t make that. I asked why and got a vague we just don’t implying it’s not right or something. They wanted to make a blended latte instead with two shots of expresso. I had to get work done so I agreed. As expected it was bitter and expresso tasting rather than my smooth blended cold brew the day before. I even explained that I was bit concerned about the caffeine amount in her suggestion. Which she said she could make a half but tried to tell me there would the same in my cold brew. Which is not correct math below.
Here is the issue:
I go to coffee shops around California and Florida and in 15 years of going almost every single day to some coffee shop. I’ve never been told by a shop they won’t make me a blended cold brew many even have it on the menu as their standard blended drink offering. It’s a very smooth drink and has almost no bitterness to it but a fresh coffee taste paired with whatever flavoring you put if any.
The Math:
Expresso shots are 1 oz and according to google 64 mg per shot or oz. Latte 2 shots = so128mg caffeine
Cold brew has a range but if you use a very strong blonde brew you’ll be about 13 mg per oz weak ones can be half that.
A blended drink is 50-60% ice
So a 20 oz drink we can say 10 oz is coffee and milk
if it’s half and half 5 oz of coffee with 5 oz milk.
5oz of coffee in the blended blonde cold brew = 65 mg of caffeine
blended cold brew drink 65mg of caffeine
blended latte 128mg of caffeine
So yes a half shot would of been the same as an extra strong blonde cold brew but even an extra strong is half that of the standard blended latte.
So to me I got a drink twice as caffeinated and much more bitter and it wasn’t what I was wanting.
Worst cappuccino I’ve ever had. I ordered a traditional cap but got something that tasted like dishwater. Barista didn’t seem happy to be there, lack of energy. They swapped a large coffee to go as I asked, but doubtful I’ll be back.
The drinks here are great which is why I keep trying to give them another chance. Unfortunately it seems as though the experience is always the same. Long waits for food only to find out they are out of what you ordered or like today, getting home to find out your order is so completely wrong. The staff is rude if you have any kind of issue. Very disappointing because I really like to support local businesses
12. Music & Arts
Address: 10991-51 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223 , Fruit Cove , Florida , United States
Great place to rent musical instruments for school age children.
Very helpful friendly people. And they restrung my guitar for cheap. Plus tuned it.
We took my wife’s flute here for repair (general overhaul — pads and springs) because there were air leaks causing a “pithy” sound (we perform professionally). Because they we so backed up their instrument tech sent it to some unknown tech in Orlando without first asking us. After a wait of several weeks we picked it up and brought it home — it was MUCH worse than when we took it to the store. Slow service, sent out to an unknown person to fix. Crappy fix. And no, we won’t return it to them to try again. Perhaps they are overwhelmed by the amount of business they have, but that’s no excuse for creating new problems in a pro-level instrument. I managed to correct the B-flat key by physically bending it. Cannot recommend this shop. We now have several alternate recommendations for required additional repairs. Will have to pay again for this plus rental of a usable instrument for upcoming performances. Frankly, we’re not even sure the instrument we now have is the same instrument we brought to the store.
UPDATE: 4/23/17 – The store manager called this past week to apologize for the problem and offer a full refund on the amount paid (more than $200). The refund was in our account in a couple of days. He was very apologetic about the problems and inconvenience and indicated that they would no longer outsource repairs to the vendor in Orlando. We appreciate the follow-up very much, and I have added a couple of stars to my original rating based upon this.
I brought my trumpet in to have a valve fixed. They did it while I waited. great service, nice people, clean well stocked shop
Gotta say it’s pretty good I tried a few of there basses (all out of tune) but they were helpful and I picked up a pretty nice strap
Do NOT rent from this company. After more than 2 years of renting my son’s instrument from them they will not cover the cost of returning the instrument. They’ve closed all of their affiliate retail store in my town and the closest store is over 50 miles away. You know it’s bad when even the Guitar Center will no longer deal with you. Give your money to a local store and make sure they don’t get their rare instruments from Music and Arts. Terrible customer service. I would not recommend.
Went there and tried out a pedal that I was seriously interested in and he came and told me I needed to turn down that I was disturbing customers .. Well I was a customer too. I left and didn’t buy the pedal because I couldn’t turn it up to play with it so thanks bud .. It was the older white man with black rimmed glasses . I’ll never go back
We’ve rented here for several years and have bought things here regularly. The customer service has gone WAY downhill the last year. We’ve had to tell all our private instructors & band teachers not to recommend any more. They are so rude, and give false information. Even had to call about hours, because the door said closed but it was the middle of the day. When I called & asked if they were open he lied & said the door said they open, despite me standing right outside seeing otherwise. Then he hung up on me. The manager is awful.
13. Heartwood Music
Address: 411 Walnut St, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043 , Fruit Cove , Florida , United States
This place is absolutely phenomenal. The food is to die for, the service is fantastic and the environment is welcoming. Five stars all the way! Don’t even bother to read reviews that are less than that- just write them off as malcontents!
The doughnuts are absolutely delicious. Very light & fluffy. Coffee is great too.
Fire without the hole!
What a interesting donut. texture is close to Krispy Kreme, definitely not a cake donut. I tried the Espresso Creme which was yummy. I thought the Campfire donut would have more for a s’mores flavor but I should have asked. I alsogot a GF donut for my neighbor. It was more $ and considerably smaller than the others. They also make it in the back, so keep that in mind if you are in a hurry.
It’s $27 for a dozen
I got 3 donuts, 1 GF donut, 12oz cold brew and a dog donut which = $21 (not including tip)
Very nice atmosphere, nice coffee selections, amazing scones!
Appearance is awesome but once you get past the window dressing, the donut is plain.
Terrible flow of orders. Order doughnuts from one area, drinks and hot sandwiches from another. Disorganized. Slow.
Ordered peach donut no peaches or flavor. Too expensive.
HORRIBLE cake doughnuts. these might as well be classified as type 2 diabetes doughnuts. absolutely grotesque!
15. Guitar Station
Address: 421 Walnut St, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043 , Fruit Cove , Florida , United States
Curt Towne is the man you talk to first if you need guitar repair or gear near the Green Cone Springs area. A great guitar player, very fair and you’ll likely find he’s gone above and beyond to make your instrument feel like new.
Great personal service that you only get from a small family style business, thank you guys
The owners (Jim and Kurt) are helpful, kind, and all-around good dudes. I’d highly recommend checking out their shop!
I have been going to Guitar Station since I was teen. Jim and Curt are phenomenal at answering question and fixing guitars. I trust them with every instrument I own. Check them out of you are looking for accessories or anything related to playing. Don’t go up to guitar center or George’s if you live in Middleburg, Fleming Island, or Sounthern Orange Park. These Guys are great.
16. Sam Ash Music Stores
Address: 8151 Blanding Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32244 , Fruit Cove , Florida , United States
For a store that aims to serve musicians of many types and skill levels I found the gear selection surprisingly good. As a guitar geek I would love to see just boat loads of higher end guitars, but for a store with such a broad customer base to serve the selection was still impressive. The guys there took good care of me and working with Joe S over the course of a week we worked out a trade that put the Gibson Les Paul I coveted in my hands. Have done business there before. Will do business there again. Thanks!
Very helpful staff
Great place. A helpful, friendly crew. No judgments when it comes to making claims. I love doing business with them. And I hope to do more in the future!
Sam Ash in Orange Park, FL had willing and helpful staff, a fantastic selection and fair pricing. I bought a brand new PRS SE Standard Custom for $800 and it’s a fantastic guitar – couldn’t be happier.
I am new to music and piano specifically. Rather than buying online, I wanted to touch the piano and ask questions. I also wanted to give a real store the opportunity to earn business.
DJ, the sales associate was very helpful and understanding. He did go into jargon, but spoke in simple terms I could understand.
Nice store, very nice customer service. Got almost all the items I needed. Ended up buying a electric tune up package, some straps, few cables and an amp. Everything was very nice on the inside. But the place could use some touch up on the outside.
Honestly one of the worst companies, if not the very worst company, I have ever dealt with. They misrepresent their “Guitars of Distinction” as something better, going as far as to claim they are hand selected… really they are just high end instruments that Sam Ash has limited supply. They messed up my original financing. Then the guitar doesn’t show up originally when I was advised it would. Then it arrives damaged. The store “tried” to get it resolved by agreeing to send it back to Fender but then Fender couldn’t repair it. At that point when I started asking questions they didn’t want to answer any questions. Honestly they just seemed to be more concerned with getting me to take another guitar. The guitar originally bought was unique in its finish so when I inquired about getting something close to what I originally bought they avoided the question over and over, then just wanted to refund my money. When Sammy Ash became engaged things only got worse. He is not a people person for sure and instead of acting like a professional and working with me he made claims that were false. When I pointed out the false claims he just want to refund the money and be done with it. The lack of professionalism from this company is crazy. Honestly if you are looking for a professional company that provides top notch customer service and provides competitive deals go to Sweetwater.
Honestly, it was ok. I was a little offended. I placed the money in the employee hand, as observed his actions. He placed 2 dollars and then the receipt on top, and then drop the change in my hand as though he did won’t to touch me! Wow, if I was undercover boss I would have an issue with it. Perhaps, I may share with other Musician.
Great selection. Customer service is junk. I was in this store for 15 minutes and not one employee helped me. I even walked up to the counter where they were talking about their rigs to each other and no one even acknowledged me. I came down from Georgia to purchase a j45, a SG and possibly a new amp. Fix yourselves!
17. Redbox
Address: 430 FL-13, Jacksonville, FL 32259 , Fruit Cove , Florida , United States
Clark’s Music Center is a great place for lessons and for your things that you neer for your instrument.
Came into Clark’s for a repair on my snare drum. Delt with Clark, who’s super nice, super knowledgeable and really helpful. He got my snare working again, and didn’t overcharge me. I’ll definitely be back!
Nice Guitars
Obviously from My approach I went and asked if they buy guitars they said Nonchalantly that they wasn’t That enough that they are receiving a big shipment in but they were buying something similar from a white couple this may not be what it look like it was I do not know I just know the website says they buy guitars and they refuse me almost immediately when I came in the door
Dealing with the owner’s loud mouthed wife was nothing more than a big fat waste of me and my family’s time today.
20. George’s Music
Address: 912 3rd St S, Jacksonville, FL 32250 , Fruit Cove , Florida , United States
Jerry was helpful, courteous and interested in helping me find the best solution, not selling me the highest priced equipment.
There are some fantastically fine, supportive, knowledgeable folks at George’s ❤️
I ALWAYS have a great experience whenever I visit. George’s here in Jacksonville Beach. The guy there are super cool and very knowledgeable about their inventory. And usually have a terrific selection! Except this time, the Ibanez Mikro Paul Gilbert white guitar was not in stock. Which kind of bugged me a little, but that’s just me being petty. But other than THAT, an overall, great visit! Adam, the sales manager is always very warm, welcoming and knowledgeable.
I definitely give this place a 10/10.
30 day price grantee, but low on pro audio products
Good selection
Typical shop with consumer priced, entry level instruments.
Will not come back here as long as masks are required.
Hi prices on accessories. If you are not an electric shredder, don’t expect much. Took my la voce for adjustment. Came back with cracked nut.
Very weak percussion inventory he’ll be glad to order you something it’ll come in in a week.
