Totally cool!! I highly recommend that you stop by this shop! awesome place! Go check it out!!
This LP shop is a great plus to the area! Get T-shirts and posters, but the LP selection is by far the best! Love the wide LP selection and the superb help from the ever-friendly erudite staff who are all well-informed about all things music and pop culture in general! A really stupendous, fantastic find for all interested in great music and exciting pop culture artifacts!
Just rad!
Quaint and it zaps you to a cute shop in L.A. Vintage finds, vinyl records, jewelry and more! A must visit!
Store is messy and the photo shown on Google map is pretty much a lie. don’t have a lot of selection of shirts as in the photo.
Bad customer service, the guy was so rude!!!
I purchased a Carly Simon album from here, when I got home and played it it was not even Carly Simon singing!!! It was some man singing the songs from her album. I even checked the album sleeve and the record itself and it says Carly Simon on it. Very disappointed and customer service was not great.
Never again. Limited selection, difficult to browse and very overpriced. $20 for a Al Stewart album, ridiculous.
Customer service is horrible. They won’t answer the phone and none of the products actually come from LA outback, they are drop shipped from a different company. I had to get ahold of world percussion USA to get a tracking number. Also I just found the same exact didgeridoo on amazon for $35 compared to their price of $57. The products themselves are really good quality though. But I’m not giving LA outback credit for the quality because they don’t make them.
Its a truck stop. It is a LARGE truck stop. But easy to move around within. Busy place.
Has a Wendy’s restaurant fairly priced, but everything else somewhat over priced
They broke their contract on the PhilMore cups. First they increased the refill price, now there is no option for a PhilMore refill, so now it’s OVER TWO DOLLARS for a coffee refill- in my own cup purchased explicitly for pilot refills @99¢.
I make the decisions for where I fuel and spent over $200,000 in fuel last year alone. I chose not to fuel at Pilot / Flying J anymore because they lied and broke their contract.
At least I can throw this cup out and not give them the free advertising anymore.
You lost a multi million dollar customer because you are too cheap to honor your contract.
Hair in the showers and some boogers or somthing on the shower curtains. Wendy’s charged me for large water, saw on receipt after, saw manager at Wendy’s yell at trucker for asking for to go bag after waiting 40seconds after first ask
Congratulations! Finally found at least one place in the area staffed with 100% completely mean looking, unsmiling staff! Felt just as if I’d stumbled into some bizarre redneck enclave. Good job!
Bob is a phenomenal music teacher. Great about being in touch, patient and answers my millions of questions. He has helped me go from “I have no idea what I am doing to I can play quite a few songs now!” in less than a year. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
Great musician , great banjo professor!
13. Harvard Street Music Exchange
Address: 134 S Harvard St, Hemet, CA 92543 , Garnet , California , United States
Great music shop. Great staff. Bought a travel acoustic guitar. Will definitely be going back.
Great place to start. My daughter loves it here. Viola teacher is awsome.
We had an alto saxophone tuned up at a reasonable price and in a timely manner. Everyone is very nice in the store and prices are reasonable.
Great music store in Hemet right in the downtown area. Good selection of guitars & bass guitars. I just wish they had a larger drum section with selection of snaredrums & cymbals.
It is a good store owned by good people. Staff is friendly. New location is nice with four booths being developed as quite rooms. The store is still in development, but is a good place for good equipment and no BS. I am sure it will be at 5 stars in no time. Prices are very reasonable.
Great selectiob
This is a very nice local music store, but it is also a very arrogant and unfriendly place if you do not fit their desired profile. I wrote the owner before posting an adverse review, no response. Too bad, but they are the best excuse for not supporting local business.
Terrible place. My son took 2 of his beloved guitars for consignment sale. Every time he called to check on status, it was a different excuse as to why they had no time to answer his questions, or just said they were too busy and would have to call him back. They have NEVER called back. My son went last weekend to pick up his guitars, only to be told that they were SOLD!!! To who?? My son never received a penny!!! Ripoff!!! He was told the manager would call him right away. He’s called every single day to get restitution, no manager, no contact whatsoever!!! They sold his guitars and kept the money!!! Scam artists!!! DON’T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!! DON’T TRUST THEM WITH YOUR GUITARS!!!
Left my acoustic electric guitar to be diagnosed on Saturday for no sound output. Was promised by Jason that it would be looked at and I would receive a call Monday with a quote on the repair. Monday passed with no call. I called Tuesday to check on it and the guy that answered seemed bothered and impatient with me. He said he didn’t see my guitar anywhere in the store and had no idea what was being done with it. He put me on hold for a couple minutes and looked for it, it was still in the store. He abruptly answered saying, “I found it I call you back in a little bit” and then just hung up on me. 3 hours passed and I called back. Someone else answered and said the previous employee had taken it apart and then just left for the day. No call back again to let me know what was being done. Wednesday passed, no call back. I called today Thursday and was told they sent it to their outside technician to fix it, not quote it. I told them to just bring it back to the store so I could pick it up, I was tired of the run around and lack of communication on their part. Completely unprofessional and lack of customer service here. I will never step in this store again!
14. Melrose Studios Palm Springs
Address: 121 S Palm Canyon Dr Suite 204, Palm Springs, CA 92262 , Garnet , California , United States
I am an author who was searching for a recording studio in the area where I live so that I could record an audiobook for my new book SHIFTING Bravely. I am so pleased that I found David Williams of Melrose Recording Studios!
I had never done this before and David made the entire experience a complete joy. Right off the bat, he returned phone calls and emails in a timely manner. We reviewed our expectations and schedules and then established timelines that met both our needs. Costs were also negotiated upfront.
David guided me through the recordings with his easy, comfortable style. After 12 hours of recording (including the edit phase), I want to thank David for his professionalism, perfectionism, and personal investment into his work….and mine!!
I “highly” recommend David Williams of Melrose Recording Studios for your recording needs. I know if I decide to record another book, I’ll be back!
State of the art equipment and a chill, creative vibe make Melrose Studios, Palm Springs the best place to record in Riverside County. Owner, David Williams provides great service and always makes sure you walk out with product you can be proud of. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.
My recording started back at Posha studios in LA during the early 90’s. Of the many studios I have been in, and engineers that I have worked with, David is my favorite. He felt my vibe from day one. He’s extremely intuitive; so easy to get a long with. The first tracks he worked on for us at KickedOuttaCottonwood were a mess, and he was amazingly patient. He makes our music come ALIVE. He makes you feel like family, and it’s genuine. I could go on and on, but the mixing and mastering he has done on our tunes have put us on the radio and the map.
Keeping it real,
Robert

15. Winzer Records
Address: 18 La Plaza, Palm Springs, CA 92262 , Garnet , California , United States
Lots of underground records, but can find good used classic rock too. A cool space.
Always fun to stop by and see Jorg, he’s knowledgeable and find exactly what you’re looking for.
Thanks Jorg!
Unique and gorgeous little gem!! Locally owned record shop with a great variety of records and other awesome items like vintage clothing!! Don’t miss this spot when you visit Palm Springs!!
Very small store with limited inventory and selection. It’s got potential.
16. Palm Springs Studios, Inc.
Address: 2901 E Alejo Rd, Palm Springs, CA 92262 , Garnet , California , United States
Very nice, professional and great prices on equiptment.
Trustworthy. Genuine help behind the sales desk and genuine knowledge behind the work bench.
My acoustic guitar had been acting up and Mike was able to diagnose and investigate possible solutions – a cost free evaluation. No pressure or gimmick to proceed with repairs. I will be coming back to Betrand’s / Pete’s!
I used to build and repair guitars.
When I retired, I had a really hard time finding a repair man to fix, and setup my guitars.
Michael at Pete’s Music is the one who does all of my guitars. He is very talented and knowledgeable and honest.
He treats his customers like they matter.
In a era when local music shops are hard to find this one is a gem. Great service, great staff, fair prices. Their guitar techs are top notch and extremely reasonable…
I’m so glad they got rid of “Dr. Evil.” It was the best decision they’ve ever done in my 20 years of coming here. Buying guitar strings from him was like pulling teeth. I heard he was eventually assaulted, which is unfortunate and kind of reflects on the managers for not getting rid of him sooner.
The bearded gentleman that replaced him is worth his weight in Gold.
Give that man a RAISE. He deserves it.
I had some questions about a guitar repair on 9/23/14. I called to talk with Pete but he was not there. I talked with someone else about the needed repair. He couldn’t help me and when I tried to get some more information about when Pete would return he was non-helpful and then he told me that he had “a room full of customers.” Or in other words, this phone conversation is over. Am I not a customer? Just another employee filling a seat over there. I gave 3 stars for my rating only because Pete is awesome, but my experience with his fill-in was in complete contrast to working with Pete.
Place is so uncomfortable. 3 people working. Complete silence. Just staring at you. Wanted to look at guitars but felt so uncomfortable.
I cant say i have been to alot of music stores but this is defiantly one i wont be going back to watch out for the middle age bald guy. Literally the rudest most obnoxious man i have ever met in my life. DONT GO
Done
18. Palm Springs Vinyl Records and Collectibles
Address: 220 N Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, CA 92262 , Garnet , California , United States
Great place to pick up vintage vinyl and cool movie and entertainment poster, along with other entertainment collectibles, including photos and CDs
Great selection. A store, with something for everyone. The clerk was chill and funny, and I got 7 records for $7!
I get a good cut from Mr. Havens.
Eclectic and lots of records
Person working that day was fun to talk to. Found 3 albums in their 3 for $10 bins in mint shape and bought a Edward Scissorhands sew on patch. Worth perusing if your in town for a few days.
Don’t go here on Record Store day…. you will pay top dollar internet prices. This goes against record store days own guidelines for fair pricing.
Really disappointed to see this shop filled with “posters” of images printed out on a home printer that the folks running the shop have absolutely zero rights to reproduce.
No wonder why they don’t want you taking pictures inside. The entire place is a copyright violation.
LAME!
Very expensive vinyl aloof staff
19. The Sound Hub
Address: 67654 E Ramon Rd, Cathedral City, CA 92234 , Garnet , California , United States
Sound Hub just finished mastering our full length album remotely. We were not able to get in the studio due to covid but these guys nailed it!!! Frank took our mix and got it louder, wider and fatter! It was also sick knowing that they used a full hardware mastering chain! Thanks guys!
Whether you want to jam with your band or record an album, Sound Hub should be your first stop. Frank and James are seriously good guys and have built themselves a legit studio complete with digital and analog recording equipment and a bevy of musical instruments. They also have access to top-notch mixing and mastering companies.
But aside from all of this goodness, the team at Sound Hub are passionate about their craft and they are as much vested in your experience as you are. I cannot recommend them enough. These dudes have become family.
