Very helpful! Got my first guitar here years ago! WILL DICKSON and JAGUAR JAKE are juts ignorant and mad! THE WORLD DOESNT REVOLVE AROUND YOU insignifiCUNTS!!
Closed when it says 24 hours and store is a mess
2. Music Depot
Address: 2318 W 17th St, Greeley, CO 80634 , Gilcrest , Colorado , United States
The Absolute best Music Store in Greeley, they treat their customers with respect and have a kind heart. Good prices and 100% in my opinion.
The young man on staff was engaging and knowledgeable regarding products and equipment on the floor. He offered suggestions once he knew what I was looking for. An all around good experience. I will patronize this shop in the near future.
People who know their stuff!
They had a book I needed.
Some dork will make you wear one of his silly masks if he thinks your mask isn’t good enough. Needed a new trumpet, ended buying a single E string instead, take your money elsewhere if possible.
The absolute worst experience. They do not charge your card properly for payments. They do not return phone calls and when they answer it always is someone else you need to talk to. When they mess up and don’t charge you, nor answer calls, then you get a pounding knock at the door at 9 at night serving you. Then when you pay the entire note they give you no ownership papers.
This company is a joke. They are rude and steal from people.
Buyer beware. To many other places to shop. Thanks for the worst experience ever and I will spend a lifetime avoiding anything music depot. It anything you fundraise or sponsor.
Totally disgusted customer in Colorado!!!!!
Even though the state has been opened up, they still are trying to force people to wear them. Zero stars. I guess spending on small businesses is out. Amazon it is, which is a shame, because I’d prefer to go to a local store.
Gina is a consummate musical instrument expert, especially when it comes to Flutes, Horns, and the litany of Brass Band instruments. I reached out via email to her business after hours and received a return phone call immediately and she proceeded to run me thru the gamut of her Saxophone collection on hand and educated me on each and every one I inquired about and lastly she offered an a phenomenal deal on a mint condition Sax that I would have been foolish to bypass. To top it all off she had the instrument overnighted to me (unbeknownst to me). My inspection proved that she was spot on in her description on the instruments condition. I can’t give enough accolades to Gina and her team. Thanks a million Gina!!!
We were looking for a professional Getzen 3062AFR bass trombone online for WEEKS, when we came across this store. We were able to get the Getzen 3062AFR bass trombone used (but in impecable condition) for an excellent price. A new Getzen 3062AFR is very expensive, so we eagerly bought it. As we purchased it, Gina was very helpful and gave us photos and a thorough description of the instrument. As the product shipped, we were frequently updated on where it was on its process. An amazing store.
Ordered a used king trombone. Was in really good condition. No surprise damages or anything, I’d order from here again
We had such great experience with Chase! He did an excellent job and was so friendly. We will definitely use his services again in the future!
Chase tuned our Kawai piano this morning. He took the time to answer all our questions about our piano and the tuning was fantastic. He also fixed a key that was getting stuck. Great experience.
I recently had Chase tune my piano and couldn’t be happier. He was punctual, friendly, reasonably priced and did a fantastic job on the piano.
9. Main Street Music
Address: 609 Main St, Windsor, CO 80550 , Gilcrest , Colorado , United States
Music Instructions on almost any instrument. Happy place to learn.
My Daughter has been with Main Street Music for 4 years now. She has taken lessons in piano, voice, violin, and flute.
Great instruction, and very convenient to be able to bring all of the kids to piano lessons at the same time!
Very helpful with new violin and restringing. Tried lessons and decided not to continue there. No progress in lessons over 5 weeks at $90. You might have a better experience but we would not choose them again.
I went in today to check the place out. The woman working looked at me like I was crazy. I had no help with anything. Awful place to send children or anyone for music lessons.
I’ve used Brigg a number of times for several of my projects. He does awesome work and has a great ear. He’s also super friendly and supportive in the studio. Some of the best recording value you’ll find!
I had an outstanding experience recording with Brigg of Kula Sound. He is accommodating, encouraging , professional and helped me to produce an excellent recording. Use him with confidence.
Kula Sound helped bring my song to life–Brigg is patient, talented, and understands the vision. Thanks again Brigg– I’ll see you with my next song!
Went in to have my frets sanded down on my guitar. The repair guy did it right away even though I could see they were busy. He wouldn’t have had to but did. He didn’t know that I was from Loveland so it was greatly appreciated, since it saved me a 40 min trip again! Now that’s service! I will be back!
This place is awesome. Rob and Jen are so very helpful every time I need something. Great customer service and follow through, quality advice and huge selections. They are hands down the best place to go for any music needs.
Rob and the staff are great people to work with. I have purchased 3 guitars from them and can’t wait to get back down there.
nice selection of guitars and equipment ,and associated equipment … of string’s piks & suff!
The atmosphere is friendly, and this is clearly not a corporate chain establishment. Unfortunately, they no longer carry Taylor guitars.
.
I’ve got a Breedlove Stage Pursuit, 7 years old, played nearly an hour every day. Prob needs some setup by July 1 for getting back on-platform at Timberline Church. Do you have a tech available (a number of guitar stores – including Guitar Center – say they don’t have one anymore) who could do the work? Would love not to have to drive up to Cheyenne or down to Denver. Thanks.
It was the worst customer service. All I needed was my guitar tuned up. I was given a time quote for when the guitar would be finished. When I called to ask about the guitar after the time quoted, some one told me, it wasn’t done and it would be another 3-4 days. When I asked why I was told the original time frame, and what changed that a tune up would take 5 days instead of the 1-2 I was originally quoted, the response I got was, “Well, I don’t know what to tell you.” The customer service was deplorable. I decided to go pick it up with out the work being done. When I picked it up and made a comment about why couldn’t someone have figured out how to quote it correctly, or at least notify me when they realized it was going to be longer, the guy I spoke with at the shop was rude, and even suggested that the reason it wasn’t done was somehow my fault. So, not only did I have to go pick up a guitar after it was not worked on I was then told I was also my fault that the it never got worked on. After years of me having exclusively shopped at Spotlight. I will never ever return.- As a local business I expected that customer service mattered. The current employees don’t reflect any of those values that I assume the owner does, unless I’m wrong and the employees DO reflect the values of the owner….unfortunate.
Good place to buy a cable or some other basic stuff but do not use for luthiery. They took my bass with a promise of fixing it in a few days. Several days later they told me they didn’t have the parts and I’d have to wait weeks longer. The best part? One of the employees was checking the availability of the parts the day I dropped it off. They just chose to wait a week before telling me. As I was on tour, I had no choice but to pick it up and deliver it to another luthier on my route. I just wish they had told me the truth from the beginning.
Really frustrating! Customer service is non-existant!
15. Sax Alley
Address: 561 E Garden Dr UNIT E, Windsor, CO 80550 , Gilcrest , Colorado , United States
Always a great experience when I get to go visit Sax Alley in Windsor. Tim and his staff know so much and are willing to let you try anything out, to help you find what really fits you and your instrument. Love the atmosphere, the friendly no-rush assistance, the countless amount of mouthpieces and saxes to try out, and just the overall feel of Sax Alley. Keep doing what you do!!
Best place for woodwinds and woodwind work in Colorado
I was very surprised to find this great little resource outside of a major metropolitan area, but don’t let the location dissuade you. It’s worth a visit.
The owner and staff at Sax Alley are very professional and easy going. I have had work done on my pro / vintage horns here and even had a bent body tube straightened out without a lot of fuss or cost. I felt their advised repairs and/or adjustments were warranted and definitely improved the response of my horns. They were also able to make my daughter’s aging, student-level Yamaha play like a million bucks for a very modest investment. This was a far better option than the rent-to-own “shiny new” music store model that has not been adjusted or maintained.
They also have a great revolving selection of cool new and vintage saxes, woodwinds and all the accessories. I felt their prices were very fair, even when compared to the no-service internet world. It’s refreshing to still see a “brick & mortar” storefront doing a great business! Thank you!
Luca was playing recognizable pieces in a short time. He never felt frustrated and always looked forward to his lessons. Seth is a great guitar teacher whose in depth experience and knowledge allows him to taylor his lessons to each student, individually. He is patient and kind and clearly loves what he does, which is to inspire a love of music in each of his students…oh and teach them to play guitar! I highly recommend Seth and only wish he didn’t move away.
Cave Creek thinking that we were going to see a classical guitarist. We were pleasantly surprised to see a dancer that night, too. Our children got to dance with Linda that night. Since both children enjoyed it, we were thrilled to hear she taught children’s classes on Saturday mornings.
His boundless zest for life and music radiates in his playing and teaching. Proficient in diverse styles and instruments, a true standout.
He DJ’d a quinceañera for us and everything was on point. He was very professional and took all our suggestions. He played the perfect mix of all the music we wanted.
He was very professional and returned all our calls and kept in touch w us. The music was a hit and the night was perfect
His prices were the most reasonable that we could find…. Thank you DJKP for making this the memorable night
18. Music & Arts
Address: 238 E Harmony Rd Suite D10-12, Fort Collins, CO 80525 , Gilcrest , Colorado , United States
Great store with a pretty good selection would recommend got my Scarlett 2i2 at a really good price although they did not have any of the XLR cables I ordered those on Amazon so no big deal.
I have been going to music & Arts for the past few years now, and the staff there are always incredibly helpful and kind. Both of my children have taken lessons from their instructors and loved it. I also have to mention that they did a great job adapting to the new environment of online learning due to COVID. They continued to provide great instruction despite having to do it over the computer. I appreciate Music & Arts and will continue to go there for any musical needs!
Friendly atmosphere!
The staff are nice & know their products.
Got a speaker that came without a charging cable for some reason. They gave me a new one. One of the employees even went above & got a part I was looking for. Out of curiosity & to have something in the store. No problems with the store whatsoever. And I’m a hard please Lol
Complete rip off. Rented a clarinet for purchase, to find out the contract doesn’t allow a purchase. Can get some store credit, but not much. Can not believe they won’t work with us. We can’t keep the instrument, and if we don’t return it they keep charging for rental…wth???
BBB investigate…apparently we are not the only ones!!! DO NOT SHOP HERE!
Horrible service. Had my daughter’s clarinet cleaned and tuned. They took two weeks longer than promised, qoted me $50 but ended up charging me $130 for what they could only explain as routine cleaning and tuning, and when we finally got it back, the mouth piece was MISSING!! The sales people are friendly, but BEWARE the maintenance is all sent off-site and is completely incompetent.
I wish i could say I had a good experience but a sales person who didn’t listen to me ended up selling me in a bad way and then i was only informed on pickup. you got me once, ill never come back though.
19. Music Go Round
Address: 2925 S College Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80525 , Gilcrest , Colorado , United States
Fun place to hang out and try some music equipment!
I needed an IEMonitor system. Branden helped research it and then ordered two systems. I bought one for a great price! Best deal and cool people. go here.
Great shop! These folks know their stuff and love what they do, can’t wait to visit again and again!
Good deals and knowledgeable staff .
Asked about where to repair my amp, told him I had it looked at by a local sound guy that has been repairing amps for decades(including four of mine, which I was very happy with) but wasn’t sure if I wanted to return it to the factory to be refurbished. The guy behind the counter(the manager) took that opportunity to bash the guy I went to(pretty excessively), and try to convince me his amp guy would be better than having it factory refurbished. It was rude, unprofessional and I’m doubt I’ll ever be back in the store.
Pretty cool…!!!
I do not recommend this store. I have been a faithful customer for many years and tried to support local business, however this particular Music Go Round is by far the worst. I have brought in guitars and basses that I have played for years only to be told they have warped necks or something else is wrong with them. I have brought these same instruments to either Guitar Center (Fort Collins/Arvada)or the other two Music Go Rounds in Denver (Littleton specifically) and they had no issues and said all they needed was a little set up. While the owner is a good guy, the manager is completely un-knowledgeable and very rude. Also, their return policy is completely different from the other Music Go Rounds only allowing 7 days and in store credit only, and while they claim it’s stated everywhere it is not musician friendly as sometimes we need more time to see if equipment is going to work for us. Guitar Center is a much more musician and user friendly store, and I would highly advise taking the trip to the other locations to be treated fairly.
Good music store but don’t sell them your musical instruments – they value everything on ebay and offer you less than 10% of its value. Offered me $50 for a very old German violin which I sold on craigslist for $800 which was about the value of the instruments I could see them looking at to compare against on ebay
Had good experiences in the past here both buying and selling but chose to offer me $200 for $1500 worth of bass gear. At least guitar center offered me 50% of the total worth. Avoid if you are selling. If you are buying check EVERYTHING over as much of the wind instrument stock has issues.
EDIT: Went back last week to trade another guitar. The salesperson claimed that the neck was twisted (so they of course couldn’t buy it) which was debunked later by a good luthier. I really want to like this store but they don’t employ honest people.
