Tim, and his team are incredibly professional and helpful. I look forward to many encounters with them. They are incredibly knowledgeable, and will continue to support this organization!
The music lessons at Shin’s are excellent. The instructors are incredibly talented and patient.
Our son has attended Shin’s for 2 years now. The Shin’s couple are truly a professional team. Mrs Shin has given our son the tools and insight to succeed in getting accepted into any music program, including the most competitive in the nation. The diligence and coordination is unparalleled. If you are interested in getting to the next level of music, you should go to Shin’s!
Mrs. Shin is amazing. Her daughter is a great instructor. She has many other awesome instructors too!

Address: 3604 Hartsel Dr Unit E, Colorado Springs, CO 80920 , Gleneagle , Colorado , United States
Great space with a small town feel, makes it easy and fast to get what I need for my daughters music class
The best music store in town. Always have what I need, always wonderful staff. I’ll never shop anywhere else!
Smaller store but pretty knowledgeable and helpful for the novice musicians. Reasonably priced accessories.
Limited selection at this location. Staff is eager to send you downtown for things they don’t have at this location.
Great for beginners. Not a pro shop by any means.
I’m quite happy to be free of this business.
I rented a keyboard to test interest with my daughter before purchasing one of our own.
I found it strange that their policy required me to fill out paperwork with a credit/debit card number complete with CVV in the year 2023 on a paper form, rather than reading the card for secure storage in an online system. I had never done this before but complied with the request. Two days later fraudulent charges showed up on my card account.
The particular unit I rented was set up as a floor model. The sales associate, when dismantling the setup, walked away from the wall with keyboard in hand, without unplugging it. This pulled the power cord sharply where it joined the keyboard and shattered the connector. While I saw the drama unfold, I didn’t know this part was broken at the time, as the associate quickly sealed the keyboard in the box and pushed paperwork under my nose, requiring me to confirm the keyboard condition. I was told the unit was brand new and so there was no need for me to inspect its condition. It appears the associate, after making an honest mistake, elected to leave the damage for me to deal with rather than do the right thing.
After I took the keyboard home and discovered the damage, a different associate at the store completed a new condition report for me the following day, so that I would not be held liable for the damage upon returning the keyboard.
While the keyboard remained in my possession it continued to work despite the shattered connector. However, if you’re renting a keyboard here, you might want to check it over before signing the condition report regardless of your associate’s claims or hurried attempts to seal any instrument in a box.
When I rented, I was told, and was provided paperwork to confirm, that a two month minimum rental was required. Further, I would pay for the first month up front and a deposit that, weirdly, would be applied to the second month. I would not be charged again until the beginning of the third month.
After the broken connector, I was already distressed by my experience with the store. The fraudulent charges appearing on my card finalized my decision that I would not be renting beyond the minimum of two months according to the contract I signed.
Strike three came when I returned the keyboard at the end of the two months. My account was in good standing according to the terms of the contract with no further money owed by me. However, this time a third associate who received the keyboard from me very carefully phrased that the only thing left to do was for her to collect payment from me for the second month. How many people actually fall for this? I made it clear that I was familiar with the terms of the contract I signed and that I would be offering no further money.
I walked out for the last time, satisfied with myself for not having provided my new card number to this particular vendor after having to change it and update other vendors two months prior.
The lady was so incredibly rude. Unfortunately had to deal with her but my daughter got the instrument she needed.
I don’t get by this store often but two weeks ago we purchased an item at the store and today I was back in the area and brought it back for an exchange and to make an additional purchase. Their return policy is a firm 7 days and my purchase was 15 days. Just make sure you purchase the right item as you won’t be able to exchange or return after 7 days. Their policy is clearly written on the receipt once I looked but it was still disappointing.
5. Square Music Company
Address: 2332 Vickers Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80918 , Gleneagle , Colorado , United States
Informative, always willing to help, talented staff with lots to offer to all ages.
Cordel was amazing, brought my D’angelico in because the action was messed up. He had my guitar working in no time. Definitely using them as my guitar maintenance shop.
We have been coming here for over a year for our kid’s music lessons and it has been a great experience. Everyone who works at the store is friendly and I have nothing but good things to say about this store.
Dead business. No one answered the door, or phone during normal business hours. Would have liked to drop some $$$ on a local business, but I guess I’ll go to another major retailer.
6. Changing Times Music Services
Address: 2199 Diamond Creek Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80921 , Gleneagle , Colorado , United States
Employees were excellent, knowledgeable, and I found everything you would expect from a good used music equipment store. Their electronic equipment section was especially nice.
Great place to look for rare gems in the rough!
Average shop customer service should be improved
Don’t go to guitar center.
Great place for used gear.
October 2019 Sold me UNDISCLOSED DAMAGED equipment online through the Internet. They packed it extremely well. Shipping box was not damaged in anyway So it was damaged when they packaged it October 2019. They did offer refund but they’re not willing to pay the shipping for their product that was damaged (MY LOSS) Always verify the physical & working condition with your own eyes “never take a salesmans word for it“… I’m the Fool… other than that “LOVE MUSIC GO ROUNDS”!!
I called the store asked if they were taken in drum sets I load the car take it all the way down there take two pieces in the store and another guy says oh we’re not taking drum sets today how high can the employees be in the store this is wrong to have somebody go down there for no reason so my advice to you if you got something to sell don’t take it to them take it somewhere with employees still have brains in their head
I brought these guys a tube amp to sell to them and the kid checking to see if it works obviously doesn’t know to use music gear. He turned it on and played on it for a few minutes and it worked fine, then he proceeded to hit the power and standby knobs down at the same time and completely broke my amp. Then They offered me $60 for a $700 amp. I refused and when I got home I found that my amp no longer worked and when I called them to tell them the issue the owner refused to admit it was their fault and declined any kind of reimbursement
8. Zimbelman Guitars
Address: 7355 Churchwood Cir, Colorado Springs, CO 80918 , Gleneagle , Colorado , United States
I brought my 1965 Gibson FJN to Matt.
It had a top crack and he fixed her up like new. She sounds great and you can’t even tell there was ever a crack. Excellent work & I highly recommend him for any repairs
I had a great experience with Zimbelman Guitars. I had a situation where a brand new guitar had been damaged, he was able to repair it so that it looked like it never happened. Very pleasant to deal with and went above and beyond for me.. very highly recommended! Thank you so much.
-Tony
An excellent experience. Matt is customer focused, fair, and trustworthy without sacrificing diligence and quality. I needed a quick turn around on some work, and he was more than willing to work toward meeting my timeline. I highly recommend trusting Matt with your projects and repairs as well.

10. Graner School of Music
Address: 4460 Barnes Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80917 , Gleneagle , Colorado , United States
My son is taking lessons there at the moment. His instructor is excellent and the guys in the store are super helpful and friendly.
I brought 2 flutes for repair, the employee was very knowledgeable and did a quick tune up on one and explained how the other wasn’t worth the cost.
For sure this place ensured I’ll be returning for any of my needs just from that interaction alone
This is great place to buy instruments or accessories. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially that guy Dean that works at the guitar counter. He answered all my questions and was very professional. Come here for all your music needs!
Great service, very helpful!
Very helpful. Explained all contracts well, good with kids, instructors onsite. Staff helpful.
Great place for kids to get musical lessons, voice lessons and books and instruments. They also do repairs here
I know I won’t be going here again, I came to get new strings for my violin. Usually I order online but it was a present from my boyfriend so I came into the store. My violin isn’t a fantastic violin but its still my violin. The guy kept trying to push a new violin on me by telling me mine wasn’t worth even putting new strings on. I know its not fantastic but that is just really rude, I came in for one thing don’t try to push something else on me. Usually buying a new instrument is a huge deal and if someone wants a new instrument they will tell you that right away. Most people don’t have the money to drop on a 1,000 dollar violin without thinking about it. I finally got new strings on my violin but I was very unstatisfied without I was treated.
Pretty disappointed in all honesty. I was recommended this place by other music stores around town that couldn’t provide what I needed.
The selection of the instruments and accessories seemed to be impressive!
What was most disappointing was the customer service. There was a very nice woman upfront, sadly losing her voice, but was sweet the whole time!
Mike, was not.
To avoid a novel, wording is key! There’s no need to constantly criticize someone’s instrument, constantly tell them to return it because it won’t work, and then try to just sell their inventory.
He seemed knowledgeable when he spoke of the instrument, but to only push for a sale, sad.
After leaving something there and returning to get it, the additional comment of “did you take it back?” Was not needed.
A fellow musician should encourage, not discourage and try to push a sale. As a salesman, if your customer wants a peg, just sell them a peg.
Chelsea with Graner music is the most unprofessional and unreasonable person I have ever dealt with. I would highly encourage you to go with another company and not rent equipment through this one. The principal at my child’s school forewarned me about Graner and I wish I would have listened.
11. Drip Coffee House
Address: 13800 Gleneagle Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80921 , Gleneagle , Colorado , United States
The other reviews are spot on. Great place to pause, catch your breath and enjoy some coffee!
We had heard excellent things about Drip, and decided to try it out. Wonderful experience. Clay, the owner helped us and knows his stuff. I had a med (2-shot) cap which was right on flavor target (he mixes in a little cinnamon, which I couldn’t detect but may have balanced out flavors). Next time I might go for a dry cap, as the coffee was smooth enough. My wife wanted something with pumpkin but not too sweet. Clay told her they have two types: pumpkin pie for the sweet-tooths, and pumpkin spice for those who want just the spice and flavor. She took one sip and handed it to me (I’m the, “just coffee in my coffee” guy)… it actually was pretty good! Had a perfect huge croissant on the side, sourced by La Baguette and/or another French place. Very very good. Interior was small but comfortable, and it seemed there was a decent take-out going on as well. We definitely will be back.
If you are a true coffee connoisseur, Drip Coffee House is a must! Clay is absolutely one of the best people and baristas you’ll ever meet! I will never enter another coffee shop around here! Please support this incredible small business
Coffee was good but the food selection is very limited. Should consider adding breakfast sandwiches and a greater variety of pastries. Much potential for this young business.
12. Moondog Music Shop
Address: 1716 W Uintah St, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 , Gleneagle , Colorado , United States
Everyone says this place is always closed when they say that they will be open. Well unfortunately that is the reality I too have experienced. Multiple times I’ve tried to visit during posted operating hours but I can never seem to catch the store open. I’ll keep trying though maybe they need some extra help like a part time employee. We need local musical instrument stores or all there’s gonna be is guitar center.
Not that great, I went in there with high expectations and came out disappointed. First, I got blatantly ignored, the person who worked there was talking to another person and didn’t acknowledge my existence, He didn’t say anything like ”I’ll be with you in one moment” NOTHING! I stood there awkwardly for about 10 minutes, finally the guy stopped catching up with the other customer and got to me quite UN- enthusiastically.
Was a pain trying to find parking and got there at 5:25pm on a Friday which means they should have been open till 6pm. me and my buddy just wanted strings guess I’ll skip this place next time I just wanted to help a small business out oh well.
Stopped by to get a guitar and they are closed. Wish I would have know this, I wouldn’t have drove across town to come here.
13. Colorado Guitar Tech
Address: 4965 Old Farm Cir W, Colorado Springs, CO 80917 , Gleneagle , Colorado , United States
I came to Colorado from L.A. a year and half ago or so and needed to find a good, reliable guitar tech/repair shop. As you can imagine, I’d been spoiled by some of the top guys out there. Finding Xavier turned out to be a stroke of luck. He loves what he does and he’s great at it. I had him work on a 1965 Gibson J-45 acoustic and a Frankenstein early 70s Tele Thinline and I couldn’t be happier. Try him – you won’t be disappointed.
Highly recommend this business. Took my Telecaster in for some much needed care. Fast service, great rates and top quality work. They take pride in their work and it shows.
Xavier did a great job on my guitar! Was impressed with the quality of his service and communication. Recommended!
Just learning guitar and have been around to a lot of places where they make you feel embarrassed for being older and not knowing anything. Totally different with Mark and he makes learning songs I like a lot of fun. So far a couple months into lessons and I can definitely see a huge difference!
I’ve been taking guitar at silver sound for about 5 years now. I’ve had the best time there and have learned so much from everyone especially my teacher Mark Young. I can’t express my gratitude for everything I’ve learned there enough it’s just such an amazing studio and experience for everyone who decides to go there. They offer in person lessons and video lessons, which both are great. They have a mini store in the lobby where they sell guitar strings and other things like guitar straps and tuners. The skills I’ve learned have been so beneficial as I’m able to play things on guitar I never dreamed I could. Everyone is so friendly the customer service is amazing and I’m so proud of how far they’ve come. I 100% recommend this place and anyone who wants to get into music take a trial lesson and see how you like it. Also they offer lessons for everyone of all ages.
I’ve been playing various instruments off and on all my life, and the best music lesson experience I’ve had is at Silversound Guitar. Mark Young is a great teacher who has challenged me and helped me develop my skills, but disguised it all as having fun. He’s devious that way. They’ve got a good set up for Skype lessons, so when I moved back east I just kept rolling with it. I’ve had brief interaction with Jon and Drew, and both of them are really nice guys as well. Finally, I was pleasantly surprised that the lessons are less expensive than I expected (pretty significantly so).
Awesome guy, took him an old 80s synth and he went through it and discussed what it needed and performed the needed repairs. Really went above and beyond. Quality work at a reasonable cost! Would definitely use again and recommend for others! Thanks!
