7. Gamble Music
Address: 2401 S Leavitt St, Chicago, IL 60608 , Greater Grand Crossing , Illinois , United States
Everything you need for sheet music storage, from high quality heavy duty boxes to file envelopes. Not really a walk in business, but the owner is available 24-7 to take orders on the phone and always courteous.
This is without a doubt the single worst place with which I have ever done business. Nine months ago today I placed an order, which I cancelled today. Absolutely disreputable–plus their service was atrocious. At no time was I contacted about the delay, and my repeated phone messages and email messages were ignored.
Please, for your own sanity, ignore these cretins and shop at Wenger instead.
I placed an order 2 months ago. Gamble has already processed my credit card payment but have not delivered my product. Nor will they communicate with me after three attempts on my part to find out the status of my order. This is bad business. Not sure what’s going on at Gamble, but I will not order from them again. Very disappointing.
Do not order from Gamble Music! I thought I found a product I liked and ordered it. The payment process was confusing, and it seemed that ‘check’ made the most sense. I thought they would send me to a page to submit an e-check. No, instead the order was fully submitted and they said they’d ship when my check was received. I immediately sent a communication to cancel my order. No response. Two weeks later, UPS sent my shipment. I refused it and sent it back. I sent more communications indicating I wanted to cancel my order. Two weeks later again, a small piece of my shipment arrived that I couldn’t intercept. It contained an invoice. They do not respond to emails. They provided an 800 number which is out of service. I went on google maps and found another, local, number. It is clearly a landline that is always kept off the hook so they don’t have to answer that phone either. This company is a fraud. Do not trust them at all!
8. Hyde Park Guitar
Address: Call for Appointment, 1464 E 56th St, Chicago, IL 60637 , Greater Grand Crossing , Illinois , United States
Did an excellent job of repairing a bridge/saddle problem with an old Epiphone guitar (that I thought was not fixable).
Patrick did a great job replacing the plastic bridge of my gibson acoustic guitar with a wooden one, and it sounds better than ever! I highly recommend hyde park guitar for fast and affordable service.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to Patrick if you want to repair your electric guitar around Hyde Park. I have my Stratocaster restrung perfectly here. His workshop is by appointment only. Feel free to call him before your visit.
If you are in search of an instrument, ceasars is the place to go. From bajoquintos to violins and accordions, they have what you need. They also sell audio equipment, mixers and speakers for live sound systems. Friendly and helpful staff will answer any question you have about any instrument you are looking to purchase. Highly recommend.

Yeah I gotta say the service is great and I all WAYS walk out with what I needed ,I hope the Chicago music exchange is here to stay ,I will be back ,THANKS for being here for all of US
Guitar heaven!!!!!
Helpful staff and great selection! My favorite music shop in town
The drum shop should accommodate left handed player not be uniform in just right handed sets only…. what a ridiculous comment by the Drum Shop Tech
Ordered guitar by 2;30pm – I stressed the fact that I needed it shipped the same day. however it did not shipped when requested. it takes 2 days for shipments from CME to me so If it would have shipped the day I wanted I would have had it by the day I needed it. Now they just tell me they are sorry and if I want next day it will $100. I even asked if they could split the difference but no……..I will more than likely buy again from them but probably do back to dealing with Joel…….
Great place to buy and hang out.
Might be one of the most overrated stores in Chicago. They only get away with poor customer service because of the lack of competition. They never seem to have what I want to buy and the salespeople are not good at their job. I am a former salesman myself and they don’t listen to their customers and treat them like they are bothering them. I would spend so much money there if they were good but instead I buy online mostly which I hate. I keep hoping that another full line guitar shop comes to Chicago.
i don’t live near but i bought i cheeseburger once
A big company with a bad attitude, they own reverb too and these guys just puff there little chest and try and boss everyone around online as well as sell guitars for way more than they are worth. The place is full of stiff cats who think they are better than you. This is like the Guitar Center of Used gear. Awesome gear but bad service and respect. STAY AWAY
