Purchased a Squire Bass package, Staff was Friendly and Professional. Very good service. Great store, lots to choose from. Highly recommend.
Searching for music lessons outside of school day environ, the store keeps a national list of piano, guitar and violin instructors. They also repair owned items and source replacement parts.
Knowledgeable staff and great selection at competitive prices!
Very limited selection of music, they have lots of guitars and pianos, though.
Great music shoppe with a great and large selection of guitars!!!
Friendly,has most anything
I’ve been to a lot of music stores, and let me tell ya, avoid the this at all costs. Prices are High, equipment is below average, and the customer service is a joke. If you don’t mind paying top prices for sub standard gear and having to staff look down at you like you owe them something well this is the place for you . Two thumbs down
I hate doing this because I want to like music stores but if service is gonna be like this, everyone myswell DIY at home and heed this warning. I’ve had a few guitars setup there which is what I’m always needing done, new guitars etc, well I happen to be changing the strings on my Chapman that I had setup there and the low E saddle of the Floyd Rose came loose and the saddle screw fell out and that’s strange as you tighten them down. Well here’s what I discovered. Either dude lost the original saddle screw or he broke it somehow, but sitting in place of the original saddle screw is a too small saddle screw from a different bridge! It had been set in there and the string was tightened until it held the saddle in place! Like magic no screwing required! This guaranteed that as soon as the string tension came loose the saddle and screw would come loose every time NOT like it’s supposed to. Soooo sad service especially since luckily here at home I have many of those saddle screws laying around. It would have been better service to call me/order the correct part than to wait for me to get home figure out that I have the wrong part and have to deal with it myself. Smh.
The guest experience was alright, but after going in, and returning my item the staff took my return and assured me it was completed, I left and enjoyed the day, more than a week later and I have discovered the staff I talked to must have processed my return improperly since I have never received my refund on my bank statement and when I tried to call in to get the situation corrected I was told they could not find my transaction. Edit… The owner has personally reached out to me and has worked to correct the situation.
went to get my guitar set up and it came back out of tune, disappointed to say the least, reading other reviews it appears the staff might need more technical experience or organization
5. Halpin Music Company
Address: 139 S Locust St, Centralia, IL 62801 , Greenfield , Illinois , United States
The best place to go for anything music related. They have an amazing staff and can pretty much fix anything. You will leave with your equipment repaired and looking and running brand new. Also great for accessories as well.
Neil Miller and the staff are always ready and able to help out with any musicians needs. Top notch group for sure.
GREAT PLACE TO VISIT, BUY, AND STAY A WHILE
The website says its open till 5 on Saturday not 3
Average music store
Good prices
I had to have my horn sent to Alton because this tech in Centralia is discriminatory against people with disabilities. Had to drive two and a half hours 200 plus miles and no discount for a simple repair I will never use them again thinking about taking legal action.
Good stuff just could be better with details and price
6. Greenfield Music Center
Address: 1215 E Main St, Greenfield, IN 46140 , Greenfield , Illinois , United States
Very inconsistent level of service and very limited inventory.
I was kicked out for playing a acoustic guitar
Definitely won’t have a guitar set up there again. Took in my brand new Jazzmaster that had slightly high action and a couple frets that buzzed. Guy said it’d be a few days but called me the next day saying it was done.
Got it home only to have fret buzz literally across the entire board. It’s terrible. Idk if he tried to lower the action too much or what but idk how you could give a guitar back to a customer sounding worse than when it came in. Its so bad I can hear it through my amp. It sounds like a slinky every chord you play. He said “it was hard cause I’m a lefty and he’s not”… I could have done a better job myself. $40 for nothing. Not even calling them to fix it, just taking it elsewhere. Now I remember why I quit going there 15 years ago.
7. Music Go Round
Address: 7425 W Holmes Ave, Greenfield, WI 53220 , Greenfield , Illinois , United States
Amazing deals on a variety of music equipment in great shape. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
This store treats its customers like gold!
Keep up the good work!
Bought a bass there the guy who was helping was not rude price for it bad not bad had a lil hole because it was used but for 140 that price it’s good and it’s electric
Cool store, good prices
OK
Lot of guitars.
They basically only deal with guitars and drums… Should be called trendy instrument go round.
The guys who were working at the counter were very rude to me. You are not greeted when walking in, they will bark at you for not wearing a Mask. I understand policies, but there is a level of professionalism, and they do not have that. If you don’t mind being talked to like Natzis & no regard to good Customer Service or your feelings, then feel free to shop here. I valve my Freedom & a level of Respect for others to not come back.
I have in the past given this store a better review but it’s getting far to ridiculous. I have been a customer for what seems to be over 20 years since they were in the old location across the street. The prices on the used guitars is out of hand. I’ve literally seen used guitars at a higher cost then the new on sale at sweetwater, guitar center, etc. At this very moment they have 3 guitars in there that I would be interested in but they are asking like 90% of the retail new price. And let it be known…they say they give 40%-60% on trade..well I’ve traded in for store credit multiple times and only got 40% max. And I’ve verified this by watching how much they sell them for when they go out on the floor.
What used to be a great place to do business is now a complete rip off. This is not just my opinion. I have a lot of friends who also agree it’s just not worth it anymore. If you are local to the Milwaukee area try Dave’s guitar shop. They give an honest 80% in trade in and their prices on used guitars is a lot better

Super helpful staff helped solve all my problems!!
Guitars are cool
I have got to admit I have never ordered a guitar through the mail . I am an old school guy so when I want an axe I have my choice of stores to walk in , play a couple of guitars and walk out with one that fits. Then NYC became the epicenter of Covid 19 .I don’t know which made me cry more, loosing my job or watching the last guitar store NY close its doors. I tracked down one of last modified 72 Telecaster thinline to Music Makers . That being said I was very nervous about getting a guitar from a complete stranger. Well these guys at Music Makers are the real deal! They were very sympathetic of the hell I am in the middle of and bent over backwards to get me the tele in one piece fast. It’s nice to know that there are still guitar people working in stores that care about Old guitar people like me.
It’s ok. Nothing special in regard to service
Knowledgeable staff and everything you need.
Good amps but they didn’t get down a guitar i wanted to play
Got a “better than” feeling in there. Short, unhelpful answers for my 14 year old grandson.
unfortunate, but i’d had a guitar in storage for a year and the fret board was a disaster.they did an excellent job cleaning that, however, they took it upon themselves to badly alter the guitar without asking us despite us being there and only explained what they’d done after it was too late. another thing about these “fixes” was that they didn’t address the problem at all! they said the action was too high the lower you got on the neck so they shaved the frets?? they also took some off the bridge, though only to the top, not where the strings rest in it. i’m a novice so i didn’t catch this in store, just paid for strings and cleaning and alterations for $40. value of guitar negatively impacted & i paid for it! nice and nice sounding 20yr old, semi acoustic fender. such a shame, and as i said before i was in store and they didn’t ask! i would get my strings changed there again, though stressing that nothing else be done without consulting me
Last five years I have purchased several guitars several by I’m talking around 10 I walked in to this music store a lady did not even ask me how they can help me all she said was what are you looking for looked around for awhile noticed that the pricing was a little bit outrageous. But the main thing was the woman that put the sour taste in my mouth by acting like it was a bother for us to even walk in the store. Oh well their loss my game I’ll continue purchasing equipment from American music supply Sweetwater. Won’t go back

Great place if you need a quick buy and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Good meatballs
It really depends on which one you go to actually. Some aren’t so crowded. Some are a LOT cleaner. Also depends on the time of month you go.
Always have just what I am looking for in stock but could use a good spring cleaning
Many workers here seem to go out of their way to make your experience while shopping a great one.
We have 3 stores within 10 miles of our home and all 3 of them are disgusting. They are dirty, cluttered and many of the isles are impassible. I wish the corporate office would make them clean up their stores.
Cluttered and appears dirty
Nothings ever in the same place. Place is a mess.
12. In-A-Godda-Da-Vida Music
Address: 302 S State St, Geneseo, IL 61254 , Greenfield , Illinois , United States
Huge selection and great prices. Very nice guy with useful knowledge and offers lessons first ones free
Currently my favorite place to visit. With a passion before profit mentality obvious in the prices of his products, and services. The owner of this hand built haven, is more than willing to share the magic that is music, flowing within the walls of his personal eden.

Very well stocked nothing in the isle and employees very friendly.
The employee Jeff is very friendly and helpfully! He makes your experience there a good one! He is a great addition to the team!!
It’s one great place to shop they have a very good variety of products
Good experience, they have a couple real good employees!
You can find pretty much all you basic necessities you are looking for without having to travel to a bigger shopping outlet.
Helpful staff
I had a cart full of items that were in the clearance aisle and the clearance sale was advertised. I was then told at the register that I couldnt purchase them because they were supposed to be sent back and the employee working would be in trouble if she sold them to me. This also goes against dollar generals policy. Very aggravating when you think your getting a good deal and dont because of an employees mistake!
Cheap junk like any other
The store is so congested with boxes of merchandise that you can hardly get around.
