Alway great service with knowledge and inventory. On a small island it’s so important that musicians can find even small connectors parts and strings. Every thing you could need is in stock and the helpful staff is ready to go as soon as you walk in the door they know your name and what your looking for. I have been shopping at bounty music maui for over 40 years
Life can be pretty cool how things play out. Like for instance, I was organizing my room the other day & noticed some space I wasn’t fully utilizing. I’ve actually been considering putting a shelf there, I just wasn’t sure for what exactly. So with that idea stuck in limbo, I was about to give up on my empty wall space situation. When I stumbled across a picture of an electric guitar online. Then I started down the rabbit hole.
Sure, I know absolutely nothing about this instrument. However, I do know it’s a beautiful piece that would look nice as an art piece to be displayed. Plus I could always attempt to learn. Which would then make this piece multipurpose. But where do I get one on Maui?
I originally started my search at pawn shops. Except these were all pretty worn out & expensive. A little more work then I was expecting, especially if I’d want a shot at picking up a new hobby too. So that’s when I discovered Bounty Music. A shop that has a variety of instruments to choose from with a variety of price points too. They even had a starter set in the color I wanted for an affordable price too. So I said yes to the starter set & I can always upgrade to the fancy ones in the future.
Anyways I just wanted to say thanks to Rakhel & the guys down at Bounty Music for making my first shopping experience an enjoyable one. Even for helping me figure out how to put my spur of the moment purchase into a very loaded car. Until next time.
Xoxo,

Great staff— knowledgeable, supportive and upbeat. If you’re looking to rent an instrument on Maui, this is your place.
Good selection of ukes to choose from with resonable prices.
Was a deal one day. Full price next day..
Small selection of instruments, but the people who work there are really nice. The more you come in the more they’ll work with you. It’s nice to have a music store on Maui.
You find Aloha inside the people at Bounty Music.
Went in to Bounty Music for new Ukelele strings on Christmas Eve. The young man that “assisted” us was incredibly rude! Initially, he was troubled by the fact that there were two wound strings on my ukulele. Then, after not being able to locate the matching set of strings, he stated that he would just “eyeball it”. He became even more rude after the young lady told him to verify by speaking to someone else. He refused. We were so offended, we left. Not enough room to finish my review..
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!
Wide variety of instrument TYPES here yet a very limited selection in terms of brands available. Speakers are very overpriced. Microphone selection is almost completely absent, absolutely zero equipment geared for DJs, no vinyl merchandise that I could see, no stylus’ or slipmats, guitar selection was literally only guitars and 80% were Epiphone, the rest were Fender or Squire. No Jackson. No Spectre. I didn’t see a single Bass anywhere in the store. Picks are well priced however they are double the cost of any mainland guitar/music store I’ve ever been to.
Disregarding some snobby customers/regulars comments and an extremely racist remark referring to me as a terrorist, this shop is perfect for a gentrified Hawaiian or any white person from the southern United States to come and talk story/trash with some not-so-local-locals.
The clerk was pretty friendly but followed me around the store after I bought two of the only type of jazz picks they had in stock as if I was going to pocket an amplifier… Won’t be returning.
I suggest ordering online or going to Kihei/Lahaina/any other guitar store for your needs. PROFESSIONAL DJs NEED NOT STOP BY THIS ONE.

When leaving Maui we wanted something special to take home with us from such a beautiful place. We got a ukulele with the island engraved. The attention here is great! The young man even offered a lesson which sold me!
Carlos Rock was very professional and very patient in explaining to me and my son, John, the differences of ukulele that he has in his family store, located in Paia, Maui. This family owned and operated business has been around Maui over 30 years. We’re visiting from Southern California and appreciated in taking home a peace of Maui, Hawaiian history home as it was made from the koa tree which is locally grown on these islands. So, if you ever visit Maui, go to Mele Ukulele and Carlos will help you pick out a nice hand-crafted ukulele for you. Ours costs $900 but you can find an affordable factory made for $125–$175. We also saw a soprano one that goes for $3000 but we’re not ready for it, yet. You won’t regret it!
Awesome friendly Ukulele Shop with a big choice of Ukuleles from cheap to expensive.
5. Lahaina Music
Address: 910 HI-30 Suite 9, Lahaina, HI 96761 , Hana , Hawaii , United States
Max and Jason were great! They spent a significant amount of time talking with, educating, and trying out several different ukulele with our daughter. She is thrilled with her purchase and we all left the store with a richer knowledge about ukulele and Hawaiian history and culture. Thank you, Max and Jason!
We love Lahaina Music! The team there knows their ukuleles! They truly love to share their love and knowledge of this special little instrument. We will be back for lessons.
Very knowledgeable. Allowed me to try several different ukeleles, explained the differences, and never pressured me to buy anything. This is exactly what a music store experience should be.
6. Hāna Farms Roadside Stand, Pizza Oven and Bakery

Friendly services, best banana bread ever! Experience agriculture up close highly recommend this stop.
Great food and friendly people in a picturesque area, enjoyed it!
Super delicious food here. Nice views as well in the back. Really cool vibe. Great spot to get lunch/meal on road to Hana. Their bowl with fresh fish was yummy and they provide free pineapple hot sauce that they make which is also great. The curried potato salad is a must eat.
Was okay BBQ. Not unhappy to have tried it, but would try somewhere new over going back.
Food tasted fresh and was generally flavorful. I ordered the pork tacos, and they were huge. Meat was well cooked, and the pineapple/jalepeno combo was really great. For sides I did the pesto pasta and the turmeric rice, and they were just ok. The pasta was better than the rice. My wife’s order was slightly off, but we were too hungry/tired to care (no stars deducted since we didn’t even bring it up). All in all, if you’re going by it on your way to (or from) Hana, it’s a good option for a meal. Plenty of seating and friendly staff.
Loved the espresso brownie, the banana breads looked great but I did not buy one, I was trying to not end up looking like a whale on my return from Maui, lol
Its horrible
Nice stop on the road to Hana.
Good food.
I bought a tangerine from their farm stand and when I peeled it open maggots fell out and were hopping on the table. They were actually jumping about a half inch off the table. It was one of the most unique and fascinating things that I ever seen. Incredibly gross but fascinating. Besides all of that excitement, the food was very good.
Very impolite/aggressive staff at the cashier when we were finishing our order, even though we spent nearly $100. First and last time coming here. We ordered 3 different soda flavors with pizzas. Somehow the staff understood 2 flavors instead of 3 like we ordered and that was a major problem to them. Their eyes were just turning and again very impolite.
7. Mele Ukulele Wailuku
Address: 1750 W Kaahumanu Ave, Wailuku, HI 96793 , Hana , Hawaii , United States
A wonderful shop with so many beautiful instruments. This is a must-see for anyone visiting Maui — and Wailuku is a charming little town for shopping and lunch!
Replaced a broken string. $3.13 installed!
Very nice music store.
Loved hearing Koa test out an awesome tenor ukulele from here.
I was excited to buy a nice ukulele for once. I spent $400 thinking the ukulele I bought would be great. The same day I bought it, without any chance to play, the peg broke. I asked if it could get it fixed by the time my flight left, and they did. When I went to pick it up they made me wait a half hour even though my ukulele was sitting right there. I asked if there was any way I could either get my money back, get a new ukulele, or if they could check to see that none of the other pegs would break. I’m writing this because they responded with oh no you’re peg won’t break again, that’s super rare. But Im back home now and just had a second peg break, different peg from the first one that broke. I am a very kind and patient person but I do not appreciate this kind of service and I hope there is some way they can reconcile for an absurd amount of money paid for a low quality instrument.
