Great place to shop for all your music needs. Cliff and Debbie are great people.
This place is amazing has most anything guitar lovers could want and Mr.Lovell is awesome I bet we talked for 2 hours a wonderful polite and very knowledgeable man if you need musical equipment go see Mr.Lovell in Dequeen
He had a pretty good selection there. He is a very nice man and he fixes guitars as well.
2. Billy’s House of Guitars
Address: 201 E Broadway, Glenwood, AR 71943 , Howard County , Arkansas , United States
Had them check and tune my squire now it plays with the quality of a fender will have them work on all my stuff extremely satisfied
Good Christian folk that are there to help you with whatever it is you need (musical, jewelry) and in my case that would be music.
12/23/22: Awesome little music shop. Variety of instruments with options to grow into so more. Very friendly staff as well.
Brought in a basically new saxophone and he only offered me $150 when A brand new saxophone is $1000 no scratches no dents like do you know how to run a pawnshop??
Was very dissatisfied to find out these guys aren’t honest people bought a guitar and case in there and it had only been took out of case to look at it still has tag I had receipt where I purchased it due to unforeseen circumstances I took it back in to sell back to him he was rude an only wanted to give me less than half what I had paid few months back it still has tags and I have receipt thought was pretty sorry not very honest he is a rip off I will tell everyone I know not to deal with them they are crooked like I said it still has tags and I got receipt I could have understood if it had been messed up but was just like I carried it out of the place then the jerk had the nerve to ask me to leave it there and see if he could sell for me I may not be very bright but not stupid I guess I was stupid for buying it there to start with
4. Shuffield Music Company
Address: 610 Main St, Arkadelphia, AR 71923 , Howard County , Arkansas , United States
I bought a guitar from Paul online and I’m so happy to know it was a privately owned business.
Thanks Paul for the guitar and the excellent customer service. Hope to visit you one day!
Good folks here, it is a pleasure to deal with Paul he is a kind hearted person and eager to help, he also is a great musician and knows his way around the guitar.
A fine selection of various instruments, electronics and supplies for the professional songwriter or musician as well as the dreamers who mostly listen. Paul and the others are very knowledgeable on what is not-only in the store, but how to play it. If you want to take lessons to play an instrument, this is the place to go.
Great local music store. We have shopped here for years.
Not to bad
Good place to buy guitars, don’t ask them to fix anything you own uness you want it damaged.
Rude
5. Heartwrite Music Inc
Address: Texarkana, AR 71854 , Howard County , Arkansas , United States
Took my guitar to get a repair and Michael went above and beyond with the repairs in an incredibly short amount of time, and with amazing customer service. I’m very happy with my visit and will definitely be coming back for more business
Super helpful and really nice.
Great people, over priced used stuff. Knowledge staff with understanding across most instruments. Some nice and not so nice used guitars in stock. BEM is part of the problem in this online society, people will come here to see things in person, then go to Musicians Friend to buy. Give it a try, but you will probably end up buying somewhere else. Jeff
These guys are always willing to help and are really knowledgeable .
My one stop shop for all my musical needs. You can also record tracks. Awesome place.
I bought a lot of things from Brent when the store sold instruments and amps and was always happy with them. Unfortunately, things have changed. I brought a guitar in that needed a rewire job. I was aware they were busy with festivals but they kept my guitar for 2 months and finally called and told me they didn’t have time to fix it. Needless to say, I wont be back.
Holy cow. I didn’t even know this place was open until I went inside. Not very inviting and the whole building needs renovations. Seemed very trashy. Almost made me feel like the items there have less value just because of how badly ran the building is.
I bought everything from guitar cases to a JBL top of line PA from them before I found out they are totally BOGUS! Sold me used merchandise as new, then got an attitude when I called them on it! Cuss me out when you’re a thiefing liar? I don’t think so! I wouldn’t buy a guitar pick from these people!!!
7. King of Peace Recordings
Address: 129 Oak Dr, De Queen, AR 71832 , Howard County , Arkansas , United States
Very nice place and staff. Helped with a guitar repair and new strings. Good inventory and reasonable price.
Dolan is a great guy and his store Joyful Noise is the best around.
Quick story, I recently went to a small guitar shop in fort smith and was treated completely the opposite. The owner was 1 guy who works on guitars, sells used junk at high prices with an attitude to boot and he was the worst, rudest and nasty music store owner one could ever meet. I wont give his name but he could take a tip or a few million from Dolan, cus he cares for his customers!
Thanks again Dolan I definitely will be back for sure.
Bought a wonder BSR turntable. It came in MINT Condition. And plays wonderfully. Transaction and shipping were flawless and fast. I am VERY happy with this Item. PS. I love the way the took the time to pack it. I give you and A++++
Great place
10. Spirit Instruments
Address: 3 Dogwood Ln, Texarkana, TX 75501 , Howard County , Arkansas , United States
This store usually has all the products you’ll need. Things are always in stock and there is a good variety of brands to choose from.
Only place to shop
I love Walmart
On availability on products and services
What can I say other than it is another Walmart. If you are in the area of Murfreesboro this is the closest location. My wife and I needed a few things for our trip so we stopped in. Not too bad of a location but I have been to better locations.
A surprisingly very large store
To many associate are more interested in their phones than there work
Don’t ever have many things you are wanting. Only one slow checker.
Stock the shelves and act like they came to work not to be there hanging out on the phone!!!
12. Band House LLC
Address: 3033 Kennedy Ln, Texarkana, TX 75503 , Howard County , Arkansas , United States
Great friendly group. They knew I had no idea what I was talking about but they got me exactly what I didnt know I needed!
Very friendly
Prices are are awesome helpful people and treat customers excellent
Great sales staff! If they don’t have it or can’t service it, they will point you in the right direction!
Not to Skippy on restringing guitars… Lol
Great selection in a good location. Repair staff did a great job on my instrument.
Horrible customer service and rarely good service. The overpriced Alto Saxophones had many problems that weren’t checked out properly.
customer service was horrible. There were two employees yet neither could take the time to acknowledge the only customer that was in the store.
This is the second time I have been here. The first time they didn’t have what I wanted in stock which is quite understandable. Well here we are again today. I walked into this place to inquire about a guitar, there were two people at the counter. Male and female, the gentleman was helping a lady, understandable, neither one offered assistance while I was looking at what they had. When I decide to leave, the female tells me to have a good day. All while they were yapping, and on their cell phone. I won’t step foot back in this so called establishment. Awful, and had the money to kindly buy something I don’t recommend.
Quality repairs and service! Great doing business with such professionals!!!!
I’ve never been in the store,I called looking for someone to do a repair an set up on my violin. They referred me to Bill Carter. The best most giving string instrument repair guy I’ve ever met. So they get 5 stars for that
Great place to shop. Friendly and helpful.
They are great. But they closed the business. They still do instrument repairs from home though.
Very rude!
14. Pete’s Music
Address: 3817 Buchanan Loop Rd, Texarkana, TX 75501 , Howard County , Arkansas , United States
I love Mr. Pete, he always treats you like family every time you come in to his marvelous shop, if you want a good man to sit down and play along with or just a good ole chat, stop in and see Mr. Pete.
He knows his stuff definitely. .and has a story and smile to go with it. Definitely a place to check out..has been in business for a long time. ..
Excellent place!
great selection…. but very rude. i once brought in a cheap mandolin, to see if he could help me shave off the nut to lower the action a little, but he wouldnt even look at it claiming it was a waste of time, referring to it as a fly swatter. this makes me frustrated because i dont want to spend $600 on an brand new instrument i barely know how to play. so i went to mic’d music, and they worked with me without hesitation on something very easy to do. sorry pete, but i would have expected you to be helpful instead of judgmental. maybe ill buy a quality flyswatter somewhere else when this one decides to quit working.
15. The Musician’s Exchange
Address: 2221 Alma Hwy, Van Buren, AR 72956 , Howard County , Arkansas , United States
Love the musicians exchange. They always have what I need and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful.
Musicians exchange has been a staple for my own and many other musicians needs for many years. Always a friendly smile and professional advice.
This is one of only a handful of places in the River Valley you can buy instruments and accessories from. It’s a place I can drop in quickly for new strings or sticks. They offer some set-up/repair services from entry to intermediate difficulty. Keep to the kids close (or at the house), as various instruments and/or parts are laying around in some areas of the sales floor, making for somewhat treacherous terrain and unclear pricing. Staff are generally friendly and helpful, though you may have to approach them directly for help. I prefer this myself. Glad they’re here.
Interesting selection of mostly used gear. Friendly folks!
Drove by & stopped because I’m new to the area and was looking for a music store. I’m a new drummer, so I was only curious about their drum supplies. Sadly, they had very little drum stuff, with only a handful of used cymbals for sale on display that I could try out.
The few drum sets they had were used, in bad condition & were stacked (not on stands or with heads on them). So, I was a bit disappointed.
Store looked a bit old, dirty & run down. The two guys working behind the counter were busy chatting with regular customers, but did welcome me when I entered the store. They were pleasant enough (which is why I gave 3 stars instead of 2). Wish they had more quality drum stuff to offer.
Dropped my guitar off before Christmas was told it would be ready 2nd week of January. Called 3rd week was told not yet. Called 1st week of February was told it was being repaired. Called 4th week was told it would be ready today or tomorrow. Still not ready. Called March 2nd was told still not ready had not started on it had no idea when they would start on it or when it would be ready. Then the smart ass says if I am in a hurry I could just come and get it he did not care.
Hate it I could not find a clarinet ,:(
Dropped a guitar off for the owner to look at. He told me over the phone he’d give $150 for it and only a few hours later when I came in to get the money he prints me a ticket off and hands me $100. I reminded him that wasn’t what we agreed on and all he said was “that’s all I can do unless you want me to undo the transaction”. Not good business in my opinion. He lost a customer over 50 bucks. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
And now he’s calling me a liar. This isn’t some story I made up when I was bored, it actually happened. Remember the guitar was dropped off so it could be appraised. I don’t enjoy writing bad reviews but this one was earned.
16. Blue Ridge Music Co LLC
Address: 3103, 3704 New Boston Rd B, Texarkana, TX 75501 , Howard County , Arkansas , United States
Awesome, helpful and very friendly staff. They are not happy til you are. They are for sure the best in town.
Absolutely the greatest music store in Arkansas! Proud to say i’ve been shopping with them for going on 5 years and never had a bad experience. Very helpful staff, very laid back “play whatever you want” enviroment, very fair prices on everything! If you’re looking to buy a guitar, bass, amp, strings, banjo, drums, keyboards, Palmer Music has you covered!
I had an issue with my Taylor and I wanted to get it fixed by the most qualified place around and I’m glad I chose these guys to help me. They are very accommodating with thier service and fair with thier prices. Glad to see that great customer service is still around! Don’t waste your time with inexperienced technicians like you would find at the big “chain stores”. They will mess your guitar up and you’ll wish you made the “only right decision” in the first place. PPS has my vote for best guitar repair in this state! Great job guys!
Talked to Joey in the store today. He took some time to help me plan for an upcoming purchase for our church. They have a large selection of all kinds of musical instruments and they do lessons, as well. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Highly recommended! Thanks, Joey!
I was looking at electric guitars and they didn’t offer to let me plug any of them in. How are you truly going to know if you like one or not if you can’t hear the sound.
Usually busy because they’re good at what they do!
Went in expecting to buy a new guitar on 01/26/2023. The man behind the counter was very unfriendly & unhelpful.
I found one I wanted to buy but I just didn’t really want to give my money to a person who didn’t know how to smile.
Another employee walked by and was even more emotionless than the other guy. I left feeling very unwelcome.
I will not be back.
Go to GUITAR CENTER instead (you can actually have FUN there).
