What a cool place to see all sorts of musical instruments and music not to mention the great local artisans. You gotta come check it out.
Very art and musical forward. If you enjoy supporting local artists — this is your place.
My husband and I stopped in here on Sunday afternoon while shopping in Idaho Springs. Hubby saw a guitar that he’s been looking for to add to his collection. He asked the guy at the counter if he could play it and if by chance he had a slide he could borrow to see if he liked the guitar. The guy responded that he didn’t have time to get it down for someone to “jam”. We were the only people in the store at that time. We’ve never been treated so rudely at a music store. Why would someone buy a guitar without trying it first? Lost sale for them. We just walked out. Totally ridiculous.

I needed some more snow pants, and they had lots of gently used pairs for $20-30. I also found a Patagonia jaket I’ve been wanting for $20! Definitely great deals here
This place is so great! They have winter coats, pants, base layers/ sweaters, and shoes for men, women, and kids. Almost all the coats I looked at are originally hundreds of dollars and they’re priced at $35-45 here. Not the biggestttt selection but all good quality. I found exactly what I needed.

Address: 1538 Miner St, Idaho Springs, CO 80452 , Idaho Springs , Colorado , United States
We came to visit on a Friday afternoon with our volleyball team from out of state and the shop was closed. No note to state why they weren’t open. 4:30 on a Friday and a chocolate/ice cream is closed?
Rude Owner

Great little coffee shop on the main strip.
Light or dark roast all done exceptionally well.
They also sell coffee by the 1/2 and full pound.
Do yourself a favor and drive past starbucks and check it out.
Great black coffee and nice atmosphere
Have to get the blueberry bliss muffin. Coffee was so yummy. Service was suburb. Lovely little place to stumble upon
Cute little coffee shop which serves best coffee and good pastries to try. Easy for travelers to stop by and enjoy their journey . Restrooms were clean and good. The baristas were friendly. Their Mochas were good. Good breakfast options to try.
The mocha latte birthday coffee was awesome! The service was a little slow, they did forget one of our coffees.
Cute little place
I was disappointed. They had a drink on their menu board which I never heard of. I asked what it was and the girl behind the counter explained everything in the drink. It sounded good so I ordered. It took a very long time for the drink to come out, but that seemed to be the norm for all of the orders. If you are in a hurry you might want to try a different place. I finally get my drink, and the first big sip there is coffee in it. When the girl told me what was in it, coffee was not one of the things… Bottom line is I was quite disappointed.
The women at the cashier told us they only take orders per shot for a cappuccino. I’ve never heard this before and she recommended at least 3 shots for a medium coffee. Well now I’m sitting here with a crazy caffeine headache and a $6 coffee I can’t finish
Highly recommend to have less than 3 shots in your medium cappuccino..
I was there this morning and watched the staff treat not only my self but customer after customer with total disrespect. I would recommend finding a different coffee shop.
5. The Goldmine Smoke Shop & Gifts
Address: 1800 Colorado Blvd #3, Idaho Springs, CO 80452 , Idaho Springs , Colorado , United States
Stopped in here while passing through, nice little shop. They tend to have about anything that you need smoking wise. I’m not sure about nicotine juice as I don’t use it. Picked up a nice little battery for $10. Everyone in our party bought one and at least something else. I would recommend.
The owner is a dose of staying awesome. The selection is powerful with papers to glass smoking devices of varying degrees. Also stocks lighters, clothes, incense and tobacco in the loose for rolling. Awesome place owned by awesome locals.
The Goldmine is my choice of headshops. I appreciate that it’s closer, rather than going down to Lakewood to Freakys. Speaking of Freakys, the Goldmine’s prices are half price, LITERALLY for everything. And that’s no lie. The piece selection is so unique. Most of the time it’s mass produced or it isn’t good over all. All the pieces I’ve bought from The Goldmine are choice quality and some designs I’ve never seen. Sometimes I just go in there to look at their stuff and buy just a small item like Smokey Socks. It’s a smaller store, but then your just closer with the employees, they’re really nice and make it fun to be their customer.
Very helpful staff and retail for your smoking needs. Nice little shop.
Place was nice but the product was horrible. I got a disposable vape that was supposed to last 2,500 puffs…..lasted exactly 2 days…
Went and bought a vape today and when i finally got my batterys chatged the damn vape didnt even work.
Was just in there to make a purchase and the girl that was working really needs to work on her customer service skills. She was not very helpful or friendly. I guess in the future we will do our business in Denver.
Nice little selection of men’s and women’s apparel and gear. Everything I saw was in great shape, no holes, stains etc. Friendly staff at the counter. Would definitely make this a regular stop if I lived in the area.
Left Denver for a day on the creek in Idaho Springs and always stop at the local Fly Shop. Walked out and Mountain Exchange caught my eye. Thanks to the Owners both Am and afternoon were very helpful in their ways of business
I would not call this is a thrift store, but a resale store. The prices were still below retail but not thrift. Good selection though. Found a great flannel here when I needed one, cost me $28. We also bought a used umbrella for $10. Don’t expect thrift prices.
It was worth having to listen to conspiracy theory talk radio at high volume to get the deals they have here! My friends and I will get blasted with talk calling us sheep to come get more great merchandise at unbeatable prices!
Bummed, went today at 350pm and it was closed
Always closed, phone number provided is disconnected. Don’t waste your time.
The store employee was disrespectful and they were selling fake North Face Jackets.
8. Lone Wolf Guitars
Address: 3735 Beaver Brook Canyon Rd, Evergreen, CO 80439 , Idaho Springs , Colorado , United States
Very friendly people however the drinks are not kept as cold as other places.
Spent way too much like always but hey now we’ve got it covered. Nice Weed shop next door!
Have enjoyed the selection here but last time I went in while checking out – I was asked by a worker what I thought of current protest situation. Without answering – I got an earful from their point of view. I clearly was not there to talk and didn’t engage the worker – but was forced to listen. Totally fine to discuss politics if both people want to converse but not something to spring on a patron. There’s another liquor store in town and that’s where I’m taking my business.
The new middle aged guy needs to learn math he gives wrong change and tried to keep 5.00 of it. Very rude he was. Said i was some lady that was just in there giving him problems and i said i hadnt been there for over a month. He was shaking and sweating thought maybe hungover?
Pretentious dreadlocked hippie should keep his opinions to himself and charge the advertised prices and not whatever he feels like.
10. Margie’s Place
Address: 1534 Miner St, Idaho Springs, CO 80452 , Idaho Springs , Colorado , United States
I could have spent all day in here! Such great *local* finds and found a gift for several family members (and myself!)
This was our last stop of our vacation before heading home…we were hunting for a CO hoodie and were excited to find exactly what we wanted (along with a couple of other treasures)! Very friendly service. Great music playing, too! Will definitely shop here again when we make it back that way!
Great shop!
Good quality clothing at reasonable prices.
Great store has lots of nice things especially if you’re into the outdoors. The lady in the front at the register was real rude I try to ask her question and she cut me off in the middle of my question. She was very unprofessional and not polite.
We stopped in while waiting for our table at a nearby restaurant. I’m definitely glad we did. They have so many unique items, not just your normal t-shirt shop (although they have those too).
Fun stickers, Bigfoot merchandise, retro games, sweatshirts, socks, and even fudge. The wife liked the area with the shakra candles, etc. Prices for most items seemed fair but some things were more than what I wanted to pay but just my opinion.
It’s a somewhat resort town so prices will always be a bit higher anyway but the quality for most things was good. Not just a low quality gift shop, would stop again.
Super rude lady

I like this place…clean and modernized… Self order … Self serve Coffee … Table service … Awesome thanks
This McDonald’s is hands down one of the best McDonald’s I’ve been to in ages and I live down in town where they’re everywhere and there’s good ones down there but the food quality of this one the service the correctness of my order and just the overall flavor and experience of the whole thing was one of the best Big Mac meals I’ve had in a long time and definitely some of the most polite and attentive employees I’ve interacted and encountered at any McDonald’s in years 10 out of 10 no questions asked Great great great great food great great great service.
It’s McDonalds, it’s always good!
It’s fast food, so of course it has its limitations. However i was starving as i had eaten nothing all day and now it’s dinner time. Just for the heck of it, i got a 1/4 pounder from McDonald’s and a famous burger from the Carl’s jr right next door to compare. The McDonald’s was far better! Warm, twice as thick patty compared to the other one that actually had some flavor. The Carl’s one was horrible, i didn’t even finish it. Cold, very thin patty, the lettuce was that huge flavorless chunk that grows at the base of a head of lettuce. Not that i see myself getting food here very often if ever again, but spend your money at McDonald’s if you find yourself trying to choose between these two.
What a place….food was what I expected and the rest was ez access to what I needed. Only issue was bathroom sink was out of commission…and at 4 am taking it up with the mcds EMPLOYEE isn’t what I or he needed. Just need to focus a bit more on what is really important inside and itd be 55
Good prices
I almost never go here, but when I do they mess up my order. This last time we were one mcdouble short and they didn’t blend my mcflurry lol
Food is okay, service isn’t to great
Pretty much the worse bacon, egg and cheese biscuit I’ve ever had. The only reason why it isn’t a one star is because the staff was so friendly.
13. Alpine Music Exchange
Address: 3997 Evergreen Pkwy, Evergreen, CO 80439 , Idaho Springs , Colorado , United States
Excellent customer service and great finds! Will definitely be back!
Excellent service and friendly atmosphere. Prices are more than reasonable. Bought gear here and don’t regret it. Service after the sale is outstanding.
He does great guitar work and setups! Great prices for service and some used gear. The best music store in evergreen for sure. Nice guy, helpful, knowledgable, great guitar tech, and they have a decent selection of used and new gear. Worth a stop in! I take all my guitars to him and he does as good or better than anybody in Denver for a better price.
I have purchased a few guitars from here.I love thats it is community owned, the owner works the counter most days, he is a good guy who lives to share his passion of music
Also has a great record selection for sale!
Tons of awesome used CDs and vinyl.
14. Westbound & Down Brewing Company
Address: 1617 Miner St, Idaho Springs, CO 80452 , Idaho Springs , Colorado , United States
beyond expectations. Johan was gteat. I usually dont order chicken sandwiches but their fried chicken was amazing. any place that lets me have my dog inside after a bike it top in.my book. ill be back next week!
Good food and beers. A great place to stop to let the traffic die down on I-70.
Green chili is excellent, the bar staff was incredibly nice. One bartender noticed I was wearing an old Marine Corps tshirt and when I told him where I served he shook my hand and gave me a challenge coin for Vets and First Responders!
They jave a good selection of beer. The food menu should have something for everyone and everything is decently priced. They also allow dogs which is good. The only thing that would have made it a 5 was the ambiance. When I was there, it seemed dreary. The waiter did not seem that excited nor knowledgeable about the beers.
Ordered the fish & chips and a hop blender… Excellent IPA and tasty fish fry! Perfect lunch stop before heading west!
A little disappointed. Discussed with the server that we brought our children’s drink cups to reduce plastic waste. A different server filled the kids’ cups for us, so I thought that I was successful at eliminating the waste. 8 went to the restroom. Came back and there were drink cups with plastic lids and straws anyway on the table. I asked my husband why we had so many cups. He said some guy came and plopped them down and left. The kids were already drinking out of them.
One thing I ask is for them to please ASK if customers need drunk cops for their kids. It was obvious that we’re already had them, so it was redundant to bring out more. It also makes it difficult to teach our kids habits to reduce wastefulness.
I got the lentil salad. lt was good, but very small portion for the price of $17. My husband is a regular customer abs loves the fried chicken sandwich.
Just be proactive if you are a family threat is working on reducing waste. It’s the little things that add up and if we teach these practices to our kids, we can improve the future.
Tried to order food over the phone, left on hold for 7 minutes.
Bad food. Bad serves. Bad management. Bad worker. I gave them a 40% tip for bad bad bad. I they don’t even care that is the worst
Bad
Limited beer selection. Expensive burgers
15. Raspberry Hot Springs
Address: 899 Chinook Rd, Idaho Springs, CO 80452 , Idaho Springs , Colorado , United States
Had such a great time at Raspberry hot springs. Nice and relaxing soak in the hot springs. all wheel drive and ground clearance is a must for your vehicle to make it but it is well worth the drive up.
We visited Raspberry Hot Springs in October of 2023. The views were amazing. We even got to see some snowfall. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. The spring is private. There is a sauna so you have a warm place to change. 10/10 recommend. We loved it!
What a beautiful place! We were nervous that the snow was going to cancel our plans but I think it actually made the springs better! Alex, the owner, offered to pick us up where the road gets challenging which was very kind of him. The car ride alone up and down the mountain was worth the price we paid for admission! We did a 2 hour soak, which I’d recommend especially in the winter. The springs were wonderfully hot, the snow glittered through all the lights. We had a blast making snow angels and warming up at the end in the sauna. Thank you Alex for building this little slice of paradise!
Taste like chicken.
Loved our visit to Raspberry Hot Springs near Denver. The facility provides a private 1hr soak which is more than enough tine. Reservations almost certainly required. The hot springs location has wonderful views, hot springs water heated further with solar. The facility is still in an embryonic state – hot springs great, paving, waterfall etc still being worked on. Great customer service. We rented towels for $5 each as we forgot them. As it stresses clearly on the web site, we did need a high wheel-base vehicle to get there.
It’s a nice secluded spot but wouldn’t call it a spa. Would love to see it built out more and have the sauna working. It’ll be great with a little more work on the surrounding areas. There is only a compost toilet so stop in Idaho springs main area to go to bathroom first.
The hot springs were indeed very beautiful, but I feel an obligation to share our negative experience. My group had a misunderstanding and miscommunication with Alex about the price and additional guests policy. When I politely asked him about it, he immediately became upset and escalated the situation. He blocked the road with his ATVs and threatened to not let us leave the property unless we agreed to an extra charge (which was the source of the misunderstanding). Merits of the misunderstanding aside, his reaction was very immediate and alarming
16. Wild Acoustic Music Co.
Address: 28225 CO-74, Evergreen, CO 80439 , Idaho Springs , Colorado , United States
We get music lessons here. Just couldn’t be happier! If you are looking to learn, this is the place!
Haven’t been in a while because I live so far away, but I have never found another music store on par with this one. Hopefully once I graduate and start making that career moneh I can come back and visit and maybe get another awesome acoustic guitar.
17. Music Works Custom Batons
Address: 311 Eureka St, Central City, CO 80427 , Idaho Springs , Colorado , United States
This wine bar is great! It has a great European wine bar look to it with antique furniture and decor. There’s Outdoor seating in the summer months. Super friendly staff like Rabbit that will tell you about great hikes in the area.
What a cool place and what a great menu!
My daughter and I were taking a walk and decided to grab dinner. Tons of great dishes to choose from. Cocktails were also delicious and unique. Total gem that definitely deserves a go! Yum!
Wonderful and unique shop to visit while in Idaho Springs. Great prices on some cool antiques. They even have an oxygen bar to replenish your “lack of” at 7300 feet!
Pastrami, Texan sammies and the fire roasted tomato and French onion soups.
All excellent, quick and fresh. Definitely return
This place is amazing! My family and I stopped here after a trip to breckenridge. WOW!! We will be back when ski season opens!!
Amazing food and the restaurant is so cute! This hidden gem is easy to miss from the highway, but so worth the stop!
Takes grilled cheese to the next level
Place seemed fun, good food, but took an hour to get our soup and sandwiches at 2pm on a Sunday (you’d think the lunch rush would be over). Stopped here because we thought it’d be a quick bite, so if you’re looking for that maybe look elsewhere!
I got the Big Pastrami sandwich, overall good but there was just too much Jalapeño Dijon Sauce. Otherwise I loved this restaurant and would come again.!
Not sure why this place has this good of reviews. Its a grilled cheese sandwich… and not a very good one at that. Now if they were using high quality ingredients and making like the best grilled cheese kinda thing then okay I get that. But the ingredients were nothing special, and im talking from the point of view that I think American cheese on a fried Hawaiian bun would have tasted better than what I ordered. Oh and $1 for a very small ranch cup is also pretty tacky.
Didn’t eat here due to the fact they had no bathrooms or sink to wash hands and employees not wearing masks.
