A1 Professional service. Mikey is the only person I trust handling my guitars!
Mockshop has helped me with multiple setups and tedious pickup installation with amazing results!
Nice retro music storr
If you’re looking for a high end amp, a unique pedal, or an electric guitar that stands out in the crowd…Mockshop may have what you’re looking for. They are a niche store that’s geared towards tone tweakers. You won’t find any vintage or acoustic guitars there. It’s worth stopping in to see what they have.

3. Guitar Center
Address: 9365 Atlantic Blvd #1, Jacksonville, FL 32225 , Jacksonville , Florida , United States
An employee here, David, assisted me with a used guitar pedal that I had inquired more details of. He not only informed me of the model, purpose, and features of the pedal, but he also answered more specific questions of mine, in regard to the pedal. I hadn’t been informed in such an exemplary manner, in a long while. I am simply grateful for David’s service and his attention to my needs.
Terrance helped hook me up with a subwoofers cajon today and we had some good conversation thank you my friend. Time to worship the LORD!
I might be back for cajon pedal soon thank you sir.
I have been going there for years always nice
Customer service lacking. Prices OK. Selection is alright.
My 7 year old has drum lessons here and his teacher is amazing. He is very patient as my son loses his focus at times.
Awsome Jam to take music lesson
Went into to look at microphones and after 15 minutes, no one offered to show me anything. I went to the front desk and asked for assistance and was told someone would be with me in a minute. After another 10 minutes, I just left the store. I think I’ll stick with Sweetwater and will definitely not return, that’s for sure.
There sevice was not good needed string and there was only one service tech was very disappointed he was out for 3 days and they sold me the wrong strings not helpful at all
Never have anything in stock
4. Clark’s Music Center
Address: 4154 Herschel St, Jacksonville, FL 32210 , Jacksonville , Florida , United States
Owner is knowledgeable and very friendly. I rented my children’s band instruments through this shop and was extremely pleased. We got them same day and both the rental and return process were easy. We will absolutely be coming back for any future instrument needs.
Great Service!!! I will definitely come back again.
Clark is a gentleman to deal with. I bought a snare drum from him at a good deal and I’m very happy with it. Thank you Clark.
Dealing with the owner’s loud mouthed wife was nothing more than a big fat waste of me and my family’s time today.
Obviously from My approach I went and asked if they buy guitars they said Nonchalantly that they wasn’t That enough that they are receiving a big shipment in but they were buying something similar from a white couple this may not be what it look like it was I do not know I just know the website says they buy guitars and they refuse me almost immediately when I came in the door
5. Liberty Music Inc
Address: 7853 Bayberry Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32256 , Jacksonville , Florida , United States
Exceptional service and expertise. They have an impressive inventory of high end instruments. Was looking for a particular guitar which they had it in stock. Not only that, but there prices were aggressive compared to other suppliers. My representative went out of his way to make sure I was satisfied with the experience and purchase. Accolades to him and the organization. Exceeded expectations!!
Fast shipping. Guitar was well packaged & ready to play after tuning out of the box
The guitar I bought was just as described. Great communication and fast shipping. I highly recommend this seller! A+
Shipping took a little longer than my usual purchase from Amazon
Absolutely loved my new strings
Good Strings
6. Crazy Dave’s Music Outlet
Address: 5985 Richard St Suite 2, Jacksonville, FL 32216 , Jacksonville , Florida , United States
Great experience, Frank was super helpful knew exactly what he had in stock and got me out of the store with my first guitar at a great price. No snobbery or pushing products, he was super nice and took the time to pay us attention even though we weren’t buying a guitar that was hundreds of dollars.
Great selection and prices, staff are great
Fantastic store. I haven’t actually been there, but I ordered online from reverb.com. The item was listed as used but it looked brand new. I had it in 2 days. The guys are great at what they do and I highly recommend them for all music needs. I will definitely be using them in the future. You should too.
Awesome place with great selection and awesome lighting options. A bit pricey though. Been going here for years for specialty items. Still like em. Staff is great
They are closing the shop. Dave’s retiring. Good luck.
Is this store going online only now? This address seems to be an office space, not a showroom. I used to buy picks here all the time.
Nice enough but be prepared to hear a lecture of why your stuff is garbage and not worth anything. I went down the street and got more than I wanted and no lecture
Rough part of Orange Park.
Dave likes to ride the turning lane to skip everyone waiting at the light and then when he gets in the highway he drives 60. Apparently he is way more important than everyone else.
7. Kevin’s Musicians Superstore
Address: 5225 Lenox Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32205 , Jacksonville , Florida , United States
This is real musicians music store. Kevin is extremely helpful & knowledgeable. All the guitars have new strings & are in tune. That may not sound that important, but it’s the only music store in the Jacksonville area that I found to be the rule & not the exception. No pressure sales. I often come in on my lunch break just to play the guitars & am always welcomed even though he knows I am not buying, at the moment.
Great selection, especially the Martin Acoustic and Fender electrics. Lots of other gear too.
Greg a t place to find any thing musical very helpfully files large store in small place looks like my garage cramped but they know were everything’s at
Good people
Great store. Amazing full inventory and accessories.
Nice small business, cares about the customer
I was really rushed the first time. And I purchased sound system now I am happy with it
Very disappointed in the employees attitude. We are lifelong friends of Kevin that passed away and we felt like we were treated like we weren’t welcome there. We will never go back.Kevin would be very disappointed in the way the “family member”treated us. I just hope that she isn’t that rude with all her customers. Kevin would never treat his customers like she did. Really sad
I walked in the lady was on the phone I mean that’s alright. A little kid was running around which I don’t think is a good idea. After the lady gets off the phone she just looks at me until I speak. I ask for a book for trumpets then out of nowhere a man just says we don’t have trumpet books never said hello just say try Music time and gave me a card.
8. Sam Ash Music Stores
Address: 8151 Blanding Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32244 , Jacksonville , Florida , United States
I went looking for a case to carry case for my cords. The man behind the counter ( I cannot recall his name), was very friendly and took me to where the cases were. We found exactly what I was looking for and the price was very reasonable. Thank you staff of Sam Ash.
Exellent employees were very nice and even more helpful
I have been doing most of my business with Sam ash in Jacksonville for a few years and they are hands down the best I have ever dealt with. From trading in my old gear to buying new gear they have always given me a far deal.
Sam Ash used to be a fun place for me and my boys to visit. We have purchased several instruments from here before. We always interact with Zach, he’s the best with customers. Today unfortunately, my son was there playing and trying out the drum set and was told rudely by the broke Jack Black look a like in the store, that there was a 10 min limit to play the instruments. However, there were several people playing other instruments in the store and were not told the same. Fortunately, there is a guitar center just across the street. I will take my business elsewhere.
The sales person was very friendly and even went the extra mile in telling me what my old guitar was worth. He even sold me a Gator case for extra protection for it!
Very nice staff, helpful without being in your face.
Wouldn’t go back to store. Service was bad, attitude from manager. No thanks! Won’t be going there again
Disappointing experience here. They had a guitar listed on Reverb. It was $200 cheaper. I called to verify they had the guitar for which they said they did. Drove an hour to purchase it. It was marked higher for which they told me was a different guitar. The nice salesman asked to match the price for which they didn’t. $200 cost them many many more dollars in several thousand dollar guitars. Cheers
Honestly, it was ok. I was a little offended. I placed the money in the employee hand, as observed his actions. He placed 2 dollars and then the receipt on top, and then drop the change in my hand as though he did won’t to touch me! Wow, if I was undercover boss I would have an issue with it. Perhaps, I may share with other Musician.
9. Yesterday And Today Records
Address: 1522 Hendricks Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32207 , Jacksonville , Florida , United States
Awesome product selection. Great prices. And a very knowledgeable staff who adore what they do!!!
Great staff, awesome selection, and very knowledgeable. If you have a request they will not stop until they find it. I go once or twice a week. Very Knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Support local Businesses.
Great prices and selection. Very conscientious owners and staff; highly recommended.
GREAT SELECTION OF ALL MUSIC ! ! ! AND WILLIAM BRUECK IS A AWESOME OWNER ! ! !
Owner was ehhh.
Nice little shop, somewhat overpriced at times.
Place looks much bigger in the pictures. Tried to sell the cashier some hard to find 12 inch singles and the guy offered me an unbelievably low offer. The guy claimed that no one would be interested in these records, but doing research on the internet tells me otherwise. Cashier was very pretentious and claimed he knew a lot about music. I was not impressed by there personal selections of Elvis records and k-tel compilations. Complete waste of time going there. If you are a serious record collector, music producer, dj, avoid this place. You will be more lucky finding something at your local Goodwill store. Records were also in poor, beat up conditions. You could not pay me to take any records from there.
I would not suggest anyone looking to sell used vinyl records to step foot in this shop. My first experience of doing business here was denied immediately, definitely a prejudice at the front counter. No explanation for the refusal of the records, I’ll sell them myself online. They were not very welcoming or hospitable at this record shop and parking is difficult to access.
They buy old albums & My friend had slot of really good old albums-Jimi Hendrix, etc, but they didn’t want to pay anything really. One album was valued at over $200 online but they would only pay $1.30! Thx but no thx!
10. Chamblin’s Uptown
Address: 215 N Laura St, Jacksonville, FL 32202 , Jacksonville , Florida , United States
Great book store.I get to LOOK at all type of books.I love books. I could spend hours.it has great customer service and when I need to find a book the clerk took me around
Favorite used book store. Excellent selection. Well organized and easy to find what your looking for. Pricing is fair. Highly recommend.
It has a warm atmosphere thr associates are friendly and helpful and has a variety of books and media one of my go to spots to chill
Awesome service!! Nice place to have coffee and read your favorite book by yourself or to even have a nice lunch date with a friend. Customer friendly
They got everything you’d want in reading material!!!
The coffee was good. Cute atmosphere.
Will never go back…any business that shows ,their political veiws is not for me
I’ve only been here 3 times for coffee. The boy behind the coffee bar with the mullet and the girl who has glasses, and now red hair have been behind the bar each time I have visited. Honestly….I don’t think I’ll be spending money there again. They are just the worst. There has been a noticeable amount of negative tension between the two. They have no personality, no drive, no smiles, no “Thank you” when I tip them. The boy didn’t even wash his hands before, and after my cash transaction and then touched my food which I didn’t eat. They literally are so blank, it’s rude. Like the girl has never said “good morning, how are you? What can I get you today?”. Neither has the boy who was back there. I’m so disappointed. I want to enjoy it in there. I want to enjoy the coffee, bagels, but I unfortunately don’t want to spend my money where the employee so rude, and obviously miserable in each other’s company. My first visit there the same duo had nothing but ugly attitudes toward one another, and die to that, the customers noticed, and made my boyfriend and I feel awkward because they had their own issues. Also, coffee was made so poorly. You can taste the lack of love in what they do. Hopefully you guys can find people who want to be there. Who want to work, and enjoy it. People who are friendly, and outgoing.
PRICE GAUGER RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE!!! Came in on Saturday. June 5, 2021. Had 4-8 books we wanted to buy, mostly old. There was an 1876 Atlas we wanted priced at $125. SIGN IN STORE SAYS TO ASK FOR LOWER PRICE, because prices aren’t current and can be LOWER.
Sign reads-
“Many hardcover books on our shelves were priced several years ago and might be priced too high for the current market. Therefore as you select hardcover books of interest, and suspect that they might be too high, please bring them to the counter BEFORE checkout so that we can insure the prices are at the LOW END of the market.”
I asked about the Atlas and she said she had to call her boss. Boss decides it’s NOW WORTH $800. Ethically wrong to price the book for $125 & change it to an exorbitant amount right in the customer’s face. SHAME ON YOU MR CHAMBLIN!!!! Price for $125 should be honored since that was your price. I’m not in your store to price your books for you & for you to price gauge. Your sign says to LOWER the current price. Not rip your customer off!! We walked out without buying anything….
11. Chip’s Music
Address: 3505 Southside Blvd #8, Jacksonville, FL 32216 , Jacksonville , Florida , United States
Professional , knowledgeable, and a mainstay for all jax music repair/sales . Chip is sought after for all my music needs. Same day service is amazing, reasonable, personable. Enjoy the atmosphere whenever I come by with my bass. Cleaning/strings/set up/special order items. You know when it’s done right! It’s done by Chip…..
For about 20 years I have been going to Chip’s. from appraisal, to I need this fixed so I can play tonight. He has been setting up, fixing, and correcting my mistakes forever. Hope I retire before he does. Only place I will go to for service in North East Floida. Going to day for straps gig bags and patch cords. oh by the way he guarantees his cables and work, and stands behind it. Best guitar and bass store in Florida.
I own a local pawn shop and was unsure about the authenticity of a guitar that I was about to pawn. I called Chip’s music for help and they went above and beyond to help me. Unfortunately the guitar was not real but the service we received was priceless.
Took my guitar in to reglue the bridge, they didnt remove the bridge to reglue it, they just stuck some glue under either end, and of course it came up again. I took it back, asked Chip to do it properly, they did the same thing to it and it pulled up again a couple days later. I finally took it to Dale’s and he removed the bridge and glued it properly and its been absolutely fine for months now. Lesson learned. I take all my work to Dale now.

13. Music & Arts
Address: 10991-51 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223 , Jacksonville , Florida , United States
I was anxious about bringing my new Buffet Crampon R13 clarinet into the shop for a minor repair. I drove past other locations closer to my Westside address to try for some expertise at “Music & Arts”. They were familiar with the problem, product, part and quick solution. When I have a future need I’ll be here.
Contrary to a couple recent reviews, the two employees were nice and helpful. It was my first visit there.
Service was wonderful and Paul was very kind and helpful!
They are hit or miss on greeting customers when coming in the door. The employees will keep talking with each other instead of acknowledging. You can sometimes stand in line waiting while they keep on doing whatever they were doing at times to the tine of 10 mins. Sometimes they acknowledge you are there and apologize for the wait somwtimes not. I am not an online shopper, but they make me think about it when i do need to go.
Great customer service and pricing.
Very helpful and attentive when I visit. Haven’t had a bad experience yet. I rent an instrument from there, had a few issues with it and they are corrected each time I go. Will continue to do business with them.
When it comes time to rent for your child’s band class, please look elsewhere. This is a terrible company with ethics in operations that are similar to the mafia. There are so many local Mom and Pop instrument places around. Please give them your business. Oh, and they’ll probably be a lot nicer too.
Went there for repair it was really rushed they showed no interest in taking care of my instrument I was very disappointed
IT SUCKS
I turned in my Double Horn almost a month ago. I have waited and waited for them to fix my instrument! I have been out off, and set aside for almost A MONTH!
14. The Guitar Shop
Address: 9818 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32246 , Jacksonville , Florida , United States
Needed action adjusted on my Breedlove acoustic and called to drop off. Was told to bring it in and Jerry did it while I waited. He adjusted it and made sure it was what I wanted for my style of playing. Friendly, fast, and efficient service. Thanks! I will be back!
Awesome service! Switched my pickups out and got a setup done and now my SG is screaming! Get your work done here, you won’t be disappointed.
15. Guitar Center
Address: 6000 Lake Gray Blvd #45, Jacksonville, FL 32244 , Jacksonville , Florida , United States
Excellent selection of instruments, good quality, very clean
It rocks
I must say that this location is hands-down a better equipped and more professional and knowledgeable location then the one on Atlantic Boulevard and Arlington Expressway in Jacksonville Florida, this staff treated us with respect and took care of all of our needs thank you guys you saved Guitar Center in our opinion we truly would not have ever considered Trading Andorra Shopping with this establishment again
Standard box guitar/music store, employee tried to be helpful. Managed a decent deal on a guitar
Definitely lacking in the drum department.
Trading your guitar in to guitar center is like going to a pawn shop they will rip you off if you don’t know what you got it worth, employees are not experts on the equipment they act like Walmart employees just try persuade you to buy the more expensive product. Not an honest shop. It’s got a shady feeling when you walk in and i refuse to go there. They do have quality products with semi relevant prices but I dis like the atmosphere. Not a homie shop strictly corporate support your local shops! Via guitars United ! The new shop Sam ash is better too ! Soo sick with a better selection and nicer staff !
Great Place but do not go there if you’re in a hurry employees are very slow. There were 4 employees in the cash register area and only one register open took forever. Will return but i will make sure to not be in a hurry
Don’t try to order anything as a gift online they will count it as fraud and cancel your order without authorization. Tried buying a gift for my boyfriend and ended up with nothing waiting on my money to he refunded to my card. Highly disappointed
16. Dales instrument repair
Address: 9816 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32246 , Jacksonville , Florida , United States
These guys really know guitars and can fix anything, including neck and headstock breakage.
Wow… I don’t know who “ Hebrew Queen” is but they don’t know Dale, and they gave a lot of places bad reviews too. And to be called a local guide by Google is kind of sad. If they are a guide, well they’re not a good one in my opinion.
Dale is simply the best I’ve ever known, and I’ve got 30 years in the music industry, so I’ve seen some bad work in my time.
If you want your instrument fixed right the first time, you take it to Dale.
If you want to play better than it did from the factory, you take it to Dale.
If you want it done as quickly as possible, you take it to Dale.
I have used FIRS since they opened in their original location, maybe 8 years or so. I highly recommend Dale for repairs, set ups and witty repartee.
good work price was pretty high I think.
No exactly customer service oriented
Worst place to go for a set up. If you don’t want to loose your time and money, don’t go there, either they don’t know what they are doing or laziness after 3 guitars set up with buzz never again , they don’t even deserve 1 star. The younger guys is the worst one. Please dont!
17. George’s Music
Address: 912 3rd St S, Jacksonville, FL 32250 , Jacksonville , Florida , United States
I have been taking piano lessons from Paul for awhile now & they are the highlight of my week. He’s an amazing teacher & the staff is always friendly.
Great customer service. Staff always go above and beyond to help you. Support local businesses#, support local music#
Garret was awesome, the entire team is awesome.. we love this store, it feels like the only local option we have. The service and knowledge is great. The selection is good for regular guitars, we wish we would have a few better classical options, but it’s understandable that the market isn’t as big as the electrical guitar market. We’ve bought guitars, electric drums and much more here. We will ALWAYS come back.
Just wanted to share with you an experience I had this weekend with one of your employees in Jax Beach – Robert.
He helped me and my son in December on a midi system. We eventually got him one but had a helluva time figuring the system out. After Calling around to find someone to give him a lesson I remembered Robert at your store and called up to see if he does lessons.
Robert doesn’t give lessons but was whiling to help my son anyway, in between customers. That alone not only shows the type of person he is, but the organization for whom he works! He said bring him up to the store with his stuff and I’ll get him going in about 30 min… Robert, and others, took the time, not to just walk my son through the program, but taking the time to do it with passion and sincere dedication, encouraging my son to “explore” music!
The difference George’s music is compared to others is off the charts. I will forever be a “Raving Fan” as long as you all keep finding guys like Robert and never change providing an exceptional customer experience!
Everybody was friendly and knowledgeable. No used equipment though.
These guys always friendly, polite, professional. Support local biz’s like this or we lose them. -ML
The manager’s was no help and rude , to me and my daughter . would not help find the gear that suites our price and would not lay away the item we wanted . because the manger, his name is (niko) and john is the other one. Niko would not have my item sent to the store. He said they was closed and we stop there to see. And so happens he lied . the other manger is the worst one. He would not show us where anything was in the store. He just pointed to the right side of the store. Instead of assisting us . his attitude was very poor. Made the store look very unprofessional and unwelcoming for the feamle gender. like we walked in the mens restroom or somthing lol. We didnt have been so disrespected & treated so poorly in our time of shopping for guitar gear. My daughter almost took her stuff back because of what they made her feel like. They acted like she wasnt allowed to be there or something. Funny thing is this didnt happen at the georges music, down at the southside . they are not helpful at all. Very rude and smart about the thing. Made us even question why someone would be that way just because a gender difference. Guitar center never did this. I hope in the future your store in Orange park picks better clientele. Mangers need to be helpful and polite . not sexiest and rude. Because someone ask a question. Made me wanna call corporate and tell them. I always shopped there . never had any problems untill i came a cross that store with those mangers. John and niko. None helpful young men. No need for my business anymore. Mu money is not gonna be good enough and my daughter isnt. Thats a shame. My day young men respected and was very polite to ladies. Not at that store. Dont go there if your a female. Those mangers wont help you. They will give you short send offs and lie to your . im surprised they even took your money . i was feeling like they wanted us to leave and not even buy anything. How rude. No more georges music. This fixed me. I refuse to be talked to like a less of a woman or human being for that matter.
Will not come back here as long as masks are required.
Hi prices on accessories. If you are not an electric shredder, don’t expect much. Took my la voce for adjustment. Came back with cracked nut.
18. DJ’s Record Shop
Address: 2999 Edison Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32254 , Jacksonville , Florida , United States
Owner was very nice and very helpful! Asked me what I was looking for, and helped me find it.
I love DJ’s
This place is amazing! The widest selection of music from a very knowledgeable, very personable man. He’s been doing this for 50 years and it shows! Both the store and Mr. West have a rich history. I was very impressed and had a wonderful experience! Will definitely be coming back!
It has records you can’t find elsewhere but their prices are too high!
Could not believe they wanted $18 an album. Most stores would have these as bargain finds for a couple bucks. The owner was very helpful but would not come down on the prices. I was gonna spend my whole stimulus check at that store if the prices were fair. Most record stores use Discogs to determine pricing of music media (CD, vinyl, etc). Even on there the prices are only $2-$5 a album. And it seemed like all albums DJs had were all $18 or $16. That is way overpriced!! They had records stacked up to the ceiling and i know why. Any true record collector would know those prices are outrageous.
Advice: organize your merchandise. Even if you have to shut down to do this. Re-open newly organized , easy to shop, and look up every album and price them fair according to Discogs and market research.
The goods: your store could be the destination for all old skool r&b rap if it was easy to find what you were hunting down. The inventory was definitely there and quite impressive. Just was not shopper friendly.
tons of stuff, i mean TONS. for the collectors but not for the claustrophobic. great place!
Totally unpolite on the phone, she hunged up on me.
Personal service is lacking.
Solving your issue is slow.
Not categorized and overpriced for mistreated records.
19. Harmony Music Co
