Very helpful the employees. the pop corn delicious
All the things you love about a True Value. Staff is very helpful.
A small store with a huge amount tucked inside. A ton of oddball hardware that you’re hard-pressed to find else where as well as some dated stuff that home depot and Lowe’s have discountined but people still need. Enough lumber and concrete to do a job or get you out of a bind. The Very knowledgeable staff can usually get you out of any situation you’re in even if it requires half the staff. Wire, rope, chain, and tubing all sold by the foot and they offer rekeying services. The master mechanic brand of tools they stock is a nice homeowner grade tool. Won’t last with a contractor but also aren’t as awful as harbor freight. A nice middle ground for the average homeowner. They have quality bit sets from dewalt and milaukee to go with your drills and impact drivers.
Horrible and I mean HORRIBLE!!! THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECIEVED. HONESTLY I’M PRETTY SURE I’VE NEVER WITNESSED WORSE. 100% WORST HARDWARE STORE. I MAY BE A FEMALE BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN TREAT ME LIKE A UNEDUCATED MORON. I KNOW MY FAIR SHARE OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT WHAT’S SOLD THERE AND JUST FELT EXTREMELY DISRESPECTED. I’M NOT 5, SO WHY SHOULD I BE TALKED TO LIKE I AM!

There are two machines at this location however they are positioned out front where the sun reflects heavily on the screen and makes it hard to see. They are also out by where people hang out and smoke so you get fumigated whenever you want to rent or return a movie.
Ignacio is not only a wonderful human being, but he is a superb drummer and impeccable drum maker. I was so blown away by his craftsmanship and for transforming my old, hand-me-down djembe into something so beautiful and fun to play. Excellent work!!
Ignacio was very helpful and had lots of selection to choose from! each have unique look and sound. His passion is the rythm of the drum and his heart is dedicated to his craftsmanship. It is a whole experience visiting this place. Highly recommended!
Ignacio has a splendid selection of authentic drums and djembes, and does excellent repair work. A true craftsman, highly recommend!
Maria is super helpful and knowledgeable. She helped me get the guitar I needed for my son’s 15th bday! The best guitar shop in town!!!
This place rocks, pun absolutely intended. The owners are a great duo knowledgeable about all things guitars and beyond. My brief, spontaneous stop at their shop became a joyful hour-long excursion in my day. If you have the time, are a music fan, and are in the area, I highly recommend a stop here.
Purchased an amp chord from this place, it was a good price. Owners are very friendly.

Excellent instructors. My son takes drum lessons with Matthew Taylor who is outstanding. My other son is learning guitar with Patrick Hinke. Both sons have excelled beyond our expectations. I would highly recommend this business if you are wanting to learn guitar piano drums voice lessons, etc
Alma is my daughter piano teacher. She’s great. My daughter is learning quickly.
Wonderful teachers here!
12. Organ Stop, Inc.
Address: 543 Front St, El Cajon, CA 92020 , Jamul , California , United States
This business was in Kearny Mesa when my grandmother asked me to take her there. They were professional and comfortable to deal with, and sold her a Kawai organ, with seat and music booklets. Soon after they delivered it to her apartment in Escondido.
After she recently died, and I was selling all her possessions, it occurred to me that this business might be interested in buying back the organ. I phoned them, and eventually one of the principle persons of the business was able to visit me.
After test playing the organ, he got out a moving dolly and we rolled it to his van. After getting it up and secured in, he informed me that he prints company checks from his computer, so he would have to create and mail one to me. I was surprised and vaguely suspicious that he didn’t bring any payment method with him. But the organ was in the vehicle, and I wanted it gone, so… off he drove.
A few days later, I was pleased to receive his check in the mail, and even more pleased when it cleared into my bank account. If he had failed to pay, I would have had no proof of sale. So, kudos to Organ Stop for being ethical.

Randy at Keyboard Services fixed my organ over the phone there was no
charge. Thank you Randy
Very happy with my experience! My keyboard was fixed very quickly and for a great price.
Great service but unfortunately they are no longer in business.
I hope they read this review. Their voice mail is full and I can’t get through to leave a message.
No response to my voicemails. Perhaps out of business?
Have emailed and called for an appointment to have my synthesizer looked at/repaired for about 3 weeks. No return call after leaving voicemail messages or email response that was entered online. Not sure this business is still open or not. Was linked to Jarvis Music, when I searched Korg service and repair, but came up Keyboard Service. I hope to get a response soon.
I’m actually not sure if they are in business. I called a couple of times about repairing a Technics synthesizer keyboard. It went to voice-mail. I still have not heard from them.
16. Top 40 Guitar Store
Address: 8774 Cuyamaca St suite b, Santee, CA 92071 , Jamul , California , United States
Great store. Not the biggest selection, but great store
Great place lots of cool stuff brandon always very helpful and knows whats up
Great locally owned guitar store that has a great variety of instruments and amplifiers.
Had the neck of my electric guitar fixed, the results are amazing, can’t even see where the fracture was. Excellent looking shop, has acoustics, drums, assorted guitars and music production equipment. I enjoy the personable interaction with the shop staff. Best experience when compared to the other super music centers.
Cute little guitar place good prices great service also they are family owned
Muy buen stock de guitarras usadas, las nuevas básicamente Fender no mucha variedad.
I would avoid shopping online with this store there customer service is two faced.
I went to the store to see some amplifiers that were advertised on Craigslist. When I got to the store NONE of the equipment was available in the store. It had all been sold. Very lame business practices… I will never be back!!!
*follow up….Besides NOT having either the cabinets or heads as advertised, there were NO heads at all. The ads were still up at 10:00am when I left for the store. The ads were only canceled after I arrived. Poor business practices as I said earlier. Good prices for merchandise not in the store??? Hahaha.
This store sells things online and holds off shipping trying to get higher prices for it and then cancels your order. Don’t buy from them unless you go in person I guess.
17. Jamul Feed & Supply
Address: 13966 Campo Rd, Jamul, CA 91935 , Jamul , California , United States
I don’t have a horse any more but when I did I got all my feed and supplies from them
I always buy my feed here.
Friendly and convenient.
Very helpful staff. Has a good selection you won’t find in the urban areas of SD.
Has much more than feed. Definitely worth checking out!
Cheap dog food. My dogs don’t like it. But it’s cheap.
Very overpriced. You can get a alfalfa $3 cheaper 5 miles away at the next feed store
Called today asking for antibiotics for livestock as Tractor Supply was out and they were right down the street.
The girl on the phone kept saying they didn’t have anything for dogs. I reiterated myself multiple times – penicillin injection for livestock (a goat!) – she said “just take your dog to a vet. We can’t give antibiotics for dogs because of CA state law.” Have no idea where that came from but ok. Not thrilled with the rude customer service – would not recommend.
18. Alan’s Music Center Inc
Address: 8510 La Mesa Blvd, La Mesa, CA 91942 , Jamul , California , United States
Love this Music Shop! Been going there for almost 30 years…
Friendly staff, local store that also offers lessons for many different instruments, and decent pricing.
Great customer service! I had my violin repaired here at affordable pricing and then I signed up for the lessons. I’ve now been going here for almost a year and I’ve never had a bad experience with the staff or tutors. I always find what I need. Highly recommend.
Awesome hole-in-the-wall music shop. Has everything you’ll need at reasonable prices and has great professional teachers. I myself rake lessons under Al Caldrone. Only negative is it is a little inconveniently located and a little easy to miss. Overall, a great place to shop for your musical needs
I love Alan’s. But had a unpleasant experience last time there. Lady behind the counter was very unfriendly.
This place reminds me of an long time family run business. The staff is very friendly and the prices are average across the board. I have a friend that I usually meet in that area and now Alan’s will be the spot to find me
Alan’s has been our one-stop-shop for music, instrument rentals and instrument repair since our daughters started taking piano lessons 18 years ago. In the years since, we’ve taken flutes, saxes and a trombone in for repair. Often, Bob would do it on the spot – and would refuse payment. Most times it was quick, professional and fairly priced. And, I’ve posted appropriately complimentary reviews at that time. Our girls are away at college now, so we haven’t been there in quite a while, but this week’s experience was markedly different. Last Wednesday, I joined a community concert band (first ensemble in nearly 40 years). On Thursday, I took two flutes in for adjustment. On Friday, I called – as directed. Bob advised that he hadn’t even looked at them yet, but said that he would call me back. Today – Tuesday, I called and was informed that I was “moving up the list”. I understand (now) that they have more work than they can handle, and I don’t begrudge them that. But, it would have been nice if they would have said, “We won’t be able to get to your instruments for a week, or a month, or until 2019”, rather than leading me to believe that I should expect the same service as I’d always received in the past. And, when I picked up the instruments this morning, I asked for a recommendation to another shop that might not be as busy. But instead of extending that professional courtesy, they said they didn’t know, since several shops had closed. The 2 stars is for that. So, I guess it’s not surprising afterall, that no one in my section had ever heard of Alan’s Music. I will take my leaky flute into tomorrow’s rehearsal and ask where my fellow musicians recommend I take it for repair.
The staff always seems bothered when you come in. Also over priced.
Walked in today and the whole upstairs smelled like sewage!! I used to love this place. Please, please fix this. I cannot come back with that smell!!
19. Guitar Center
Address: 8825 Murray Dr, La Mesa, CA 91942 , Jamul , California , United States

This is my happy place
Definitivamente, todo encuentras respecto a música… Y si no está, lo piden.
Its guitar center … The best of corperate music stores
A nice place to get instruments
Unfriendly staff. Especially Eric. Try to find a different salesmen when you go in.
Just walked in to the la Mesa guitar center to buy myself a $500 amplifier. Five or six people at the front counter, no one greeted me. As I was I was walking through the store I asked an individual where the amplifiers were. He pointed me in the direction and then walked away. I went up to a counter back by the amplifiers where there were two employees behind the counter. One employee was drinking a beverage and while I was standing there looking at him he glanced at me and then put his beverage down so he could answer the phone. Needless to say, I left the store and I’m going to buy my amplifier online. There look to be more employees than customers in the store. But yet, I might as well have been a ghost!
This guitar center blows.
I’m thinking about returning back the items I purchased, and re-buying them at Sam Ash Music store.
The customer service at this place is non-existent. Be prepared to stand around looking for somebody to help you.
