I have been going to Ron Sachs for years, and I am so grateful that James now has his own shop out in the Johns Creek area. The quality of work for my bow re-hairs and instrument upkeep is vital in this profession, and James is the only person I have trusted with this work in the past decade. Whether you’re looking for rentals, bow re-hairs/ instrument maintenance, or upgrading to a high-end instrument, the Ron Sachs Johns Creek location is where you want to be.
Wonderful new violin shop in town! James provides great quality service for instruments and bows, and certainly helped me out with mine. I highly recommend this shop for all of your instruments’ needs!
Great service, very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!!
4. Art and Piano
Address: 10700 State Bridge Rd Suite12, Johns Creek, GA 30022 , Johns Creek , Georgia , United States
It’s been two years that I’m sending my kid here for piano lessons, the progress has been awesome. The teachers, here, are very very good. It’s very specious place. They have very high quality pianos. They arrange recitals frequently. It gives opportunity for kids to show what they have been up to. My kid loves to come here. I highly recommend this place if anyone looking for piano lessons for their kids.
My son has been in guitar lessons for two years with Mr. Josh Lewis. I highly recommend it. He knows a lot, he is patience and very flexible when you need to change the schedule. If you’re considering taking guitar lessons, this is the right place.
Fantastic school and staff! Everyone is so professional, respectful and kind. The teachers teach super well and the results are very evident when you hear the student perform. They just had a very successful concert at Carnegie Hall in New York performed by the most talented students. My whole family is in AW! Love these people!!!
My daughter needed a new string for her cello. Jalaani provided excellent customer service, taking the time to make sure we knew how to install the string, and that we had what we needed. He was an absolute professional and we will definitely be back! My one ask is that you consider keeping a few individual cello strings in stock so customers don’t have to buy a whole set and you’re not losing business to the online sites.
They are very efficient and there all the time and so nice
I am a piano teacher and I have been shopping at this location for many years. In general I am very pleased with the service and the selection. The staff is friendly, the shelves are well stocked, and they have a wide variety of music books and materials for piano. Anything they don’t have they can order for your or get transferred from another store. It usually arrives within a few days and they are very conscientious about calling to let you know it arrived in the store for pick-up. If there is a specific song you are looking for they will search it online and print it right there in the store for you.
They also have many good sales throughout the year. I have recommended the full-size digital pianos to my students and have always been pleased with the quality. Many times you can get full-size digital pianos for $400, which is a great deal for the decent quality. However, keep in mind that the staff works on commission so they will try and sell you the more expensive item. Listen to your music teacher, and get what they recommend, not the sales people.
They have material for both ABRSM and NFMC Federated Festival.
They are also very supportive of the local music teachers association. On a regular basic they provide hospitality and refreshments for our monthly meetings.
Several of my high school students have also worked there over the summer. I like that they are good at hiring temporary summer help.
The only thing to be cautious of is renting instruments. I have never rented so I don’t have personal experience, but I have heard stories from my students renting instruments for band or orchestra. Make sure you know all the details of the contract you’re signing and read all the fine print.
TJ, the store manager, was very helpful. We’ve been going to him for 5 years for our violins and have been very pleased!
This company took about 300.00 out of my bank account without my permission. I even called after the first time it happened to let them know I am filling bankruptcy, they quickly hit my account for more even after I told them to stop using this account. Now I have to wait and see how long it takes to get my money back.
It’s horrible experience with Music & Art. I ordered a trumpet online which is $4000+, it showed me that I can get my order in 2-7days. After 10days, I didn’t get it. Also I couldn’t find my order information when I put my order number in the website. Then I called the website service number, he said he could find my order information, but couldn’t find the process of my order. He told me calling the location where I will pick up my trumpet, and the store service repeated again and again:when we get the trumpet, we will let you. I said please check where my package was , he told me he couldn’t find the process of my package. I said it was ridiculous. If the company shipped it, you should find the process of the order. No any explanation, just kept saying if we get it, we would let you know.
After two weeks, I went to the store. The service said because what I ordered was not normal, the company needs to make it for long time, but she didn’t know when I can get it. Then I had to choose another trumpet about $3000+ in the store. About purchase of the trumpet, I told her“ your company has already charged me $4000+, then this time I should’t pay. Just use $4000+ —$3000+,then the company refund me the rest of the money. ” She said no, I must pay another $3000+ ,then I can get the trumpet. I had no choice because my son very needs the new one . Then I paid $3000+. After 4days, I called the service number from website to ask when I can get my refund.I just need a estimate of time. The service said she didn’t know. Just let me wait and wait. I found the horrible thing in the company, their customer services know nothing. No explanation,no apologies. I won’t have any business with the horrible company.
I was told we would get 30% off the purchase price of our rental if we purchased it in the first year. It was even stated in the contract. When I called to purchase it they would only give me 30% off the remaining balance not the original purchase price.
8. School of Rock
Address: 10900 Medlock Bridge Rd #107, Johns Creek, GA 30097 , Johns Creek , Georgia , United States
Great program .We love the teachers and management staff. They truly care about the kids learning the instruments.
We love the music, the staff, and our teacher, Dustin. Isabella is having a blast so far! Can’t wait to start taking the performance programs!!!
This is our first season with SOR and so far things are going great. My daughter loves it, especially her weekly group lesson.
Really nice place. Friendly staff who worked with us on getting what we were looking for. My son was hesitant at first. Now, he loves it.
My eight yr old daughter was so upset at the end of camp this week. She was given no musical or vocal instruction after spending a week at the Johns Creek School of Rock in Georgia. It appears that they put way way too many students in the class to really do anything worthwhile….good for their profits though. She had been so looking forward to going and was so upset that she wasted a week of her summer vacation and learned nothing.
I recently had demo classes for my kids.
Even though I was wearing a mask, the reception lady constantly checked my mask and asked me to pull it up higher. (3times!!) It felt very unpleasant and disrespected. She kept following and cleaned up all the handles that I touched..
Also my daughter lost her ear plugs during the class, and one of male teachers were upset at her because she lost her “nasty” ear plug with germ. She came out crying. I FELT SO UPSET AND UNCOMFORTABLE HERE.. ( you can only drop your kids and can’t go in there)
Why do they even open the business, if they are that concerned.
If you are that concerned to make your customers uncomfortable, shut down your bussiness until all this ends!!
Phenomenal place for all of your music needs. The staff is insanely knowledgeable and helpful. Highly highly recommend. Best music store.in the area!
Great deals
Guitar Center: the place you go when you need something quickly and have time to waste waiting on someone to ring you up.
Great service
There were a couple employees who were kind of rude because they were ready to leave. I get it, but at the same time…
One of the store manager needs to improve his costumer service
I went to this store a couple of weeks ago and had one of the worst Guitar Center experiences of my life. My ordeal started with me looking for an amp I had seen online. The store informed me that they had sold the amp already, even though it still showed online. I explained to them that I had driven a long way so they said they’d help me find another one. This consisted of opening up their site on a computer and walking away. From there I kept getting passed off to other associates. There was a general lack of basic customer service skills or maybe I wasn’t spending enough money to be considered “important.” The manager Matt Bullard was a bumbling idiot. I didn’t realize that he was the second guy I had been passed off to when I finally asked for the store manager. There was a general indifference to me as a customer and I will never go back to this store. Thankfully after calling the customer service line I was contacted by the Marietta store with the same amp I originally wanted. The Marietta store manager was awesome and really helped me out.
Just came in here at 8:15 pm on Sunday night, maybe 4 customers in the store, to buy a $200 gift card and lesson pack for a Christmas gift, waited 30 minutes, no one acknowledges me, not a single person asked if I needed help. Useless people working there.
12. Musical Elements
Address: 3411 Howell St NW suite b, Duluth, GA 30096 , Johns Creek , Georgia , United States
Musical Elements provides a wonderful and professional musical experienice. I can’t think of a better music school in this area. I highly recommend renting an instrument here and check out a neat music studios. They also have a nice grand piano.
The Musical Elements Studio is a music enthusiast’s gem. I, as a fellow music lover, recognize the significance of the right teacher and environment. This studio goes beyond expectations. Led by a remarkable musician and businessperson, the studio features wonderful teachers. My daughter’s piano lessons here have been delightful, showcasing her progress every week.
More than a studio, it’s Gwinnett’s finest musical hub.The range of services, from lessons and instrument rentals to recording, supports this thriving community. More For those seeking a place where music thrives and learning is a joy, The Musical Elements Studio is a must!
Excellent place for music lessons . Mr.Kenny is very personable and is a great teacher. My son loves taking lessons here and he has improved tremendously.
13. Music Go Round – Atlanta/Duluth, GA
Address: 3675 Satellite Blvd # 100, Duluth, GA 30096 , Johns Creek , Georgia , United States
Me gusta ir ay porque lo que busco ay lo en centro y no ando buscado por todas las tiendas ay va lo seguro
There are too many instruments in this place. Way too many. Like, one or two more guitars could create a musical singularity that implodes most of Duluth. Beware.
It’s wall to wall musical instruments. Some of the cymbals are of an era when I had my paper route and I was just beginning. Other than that…go to town for your heart’s desire.
Cheap, well used gear.
Absolutely abysmal and highly unprofessional experience trying to buy an instrument here. I found an instrument I wanted on the store’s website, and I called immediately to enquire as to its availability. Being told it was still available, I asked if it was possible to hold it for a student of mine who would purchase it pending me as his teacher trying it out. I was told they could purchase it and have it held until I could try it.
The day I had planned to come to the store, I called to inform them of the time of my arrival. They said they could not find the instrument and said it might have been sold, only to later discover that someone had put the instrument in an area where it would be later sent to a repair shop prior to shipping to my student. Fair enough, I guess people make mistakes. I arrived at the store and confirmed that the instrument was in good condition and acceptable for my student. The instrument was slated to be sent out for minor repairs before being shipped to my student prior to the beginning of school starting this past week.
This week, when my student called to ask when the instrument was estimated to arrive, they told them that they had indeed then accidentally put the instrument back on the shelf and sold it to a secondary party, even though my student had already purchased the instrument. Incredible.
I have never witnessed such ineptitude at any store in my entire life. This is unacceptable, and the best I got from anyone over the course of this entire experience was a shrug of the shoulders.
AVOID THIS PLACE.
I’m sure this will be looked at as the “just a bad experience review” but I’ll just lay it out and let you decide.
Monday – Brought my bass in to be setup. Waited about 2 and a half hours to be told that they don’t do setups in house. I was also told it would take at least a day.
Tuesday – called in in the afternoon and it still wasn’t picked up.
Wednesday – had a gig Wednesday night. Called at 1. Asked if my bass was picked up. I was told it wasn’t yet. I responded sayibng that I needed my bass for gig. Do not send it off. I show up at the store at 7pm that night to pick up my bass. The store clerks tell me that my bass was already picked… At 12 and whoever was wrong. The clerk tried to call the guy who does their setups and it went straight to voicemail. He told me that he could rush the setup and could have it back early Thursday. I decided to just to borrow my guitarist’s bass and pick up my bass Thursday.
Thursday – I show up to the shop at 7pm. My bass is behind the front desk waiting for me. I tell the clerk that I’m here to pick the bass up. He hands me the bass and tells me that i denied service so nothing was done with it. I left the shop with my bass in hand and never stepping foot in that shop again. I’m also sending my students elsewhere.
Update: my bass is chipped…
14. Breve Music Centre
Address: 10360 Medlock Bridge Rd, Duluth, GA 30097 , Johns Creek , Georgia , United States
I have taken drum lessons there for over a year now. The staff is wonderful. Glen and Chaney have spent a lot of time with me when it was time to buy a new drum kit and hardware. Mitch Kiley is one the best music teachers I have experienced. He teaches drums and helps me with my band pieces as well. I do all my music business there.
Great people and pacient
They are always informative and helpful.
I am visiting from Las Vegas and found Cheney Brannon, in the drum department to be friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to spend a few minutes with me. Cheney will be getting a call from me next year when I will be ready to buy my new Tama Star or Starclassic kit……
Friendly, very helpful
Do not rent an instrument from this company….they double bill and then report negatively to credit agencies, purchase may be ok
DO NOT LEASE OR RENT
We had a bad experience at that place. We tried to rent my son an instrument, but the workers kept giving illogical excuses for us not to rent.
Horrible experience ! My son has to rent a band instrument from this company. We received the instrument at school with the promess that if he would change his mind we could go to the store and exchange the instrument not problem. After 10 days he wanna to change the instrument, we went to the Alpharetta location. NOBODY would know what to do. Firs we were told that we were moot in their system because they haven’t had enough time to enter all the customers of the past 2 weeks. We wait for one hour and a half before someone had a clue of what to do. They were happily taken new customers, new rentals but not us. To make it worst finally the manager figure it out but ran my credit without my personal approval for a “rental”! Are you kidding me???
It was at least 15 employees at the store at that time, even tried other instruments took forever because they did not had enough mouth pieces available. My son had to decided between 2.
I wish I won’t have to go again but sadly our school is working with this company. If you can decide run away as fast as you can.
18. Town Center Music
Address: 4072 Suwanee Dam Rd NW, Suwanee, GA 30024 , Johns Creek , Georgia , United States
I was in need of an immediate re-fret for my #1 (primary guitar); a sonic blue stratocaster build vintage ’89 Fender Custom Shop neck, DiMarzio overwound Area series pickups and a custom Warmoth hardtail body.
Jon Michael refretted my guitar with new jumbo frets and it’s hands down the best refret Job I’ve ever seen. Absolutely flawless craftsmanship. Great price, and super fast turn-around. He threw in a set up and even redoweled my strap peg and a loose neck screw. Can’t recommend their services enough.
I’ll be coming back for any further guitar service needs in the future
I couldn’t be happier with my guitar set ups! There is quality in their work. Their pedal and guitar selection is incredible and their staff is super knowledgeable and helpful! Aaron, the owner, is very kind and helpful. Great store for beginners AND expert level. This area is better because they’re here!
You walk in, you’re met with both eye and ear candy, and you get the space you want or the answers you need to explore it. I used to drive to guitar center when I needed things, but now I just ask these fine folks and they either have it, or know how to get it, or have something better.
Taught my kids to play guitar
Much better store I not been here in a while the past manager was not a music guy or a manger known as a air head I will be back
Good
Not where u want to shop you find poorly trained staff and not music people I shopped here off and on for years . just not good pepole
Went in there a couple days ago. Not a huge fan. Workers aren’t very pleasant people and they come up to you every 10 minutes kind of giving you the hint to leave if you’re not gonna buy anything like you’re in there too long.
Great for beginners I guess. Don’t come in here expecting higher quality equipment and experience. Name of their game is to hook beginners onto cheap equipment (which is totally fine) and get you out. No hanging out in there jamming for an extended time.
Maybe I came in on a bad day.
AVOID AVIOD
High prices not helpful run by a guy who looks 40 and still in a garage band no music
background not open late any place better then here. Manger is clueless.
