Much respect for this walmart. California 395 was closed going south towards Reno, due to high wind. I called walmart and they said we can absolutely park our semi here. Thank you.
Better than most as far as personnel goes.
Good service
It’s Wally World. Folks smart enough to run one competently won’t work there. But they sell cheap stuff cheap.
Not very busy and staff was helpful!
Your typical DG. But since they have switched distributors staff seems overwhelmed.
Crazy mess..
WORST customer service ever!!! They treat you like you’re criminal when you need to return anything EVEN WITH A VALID RECEIPT WITHIN A 7 DAY TIME SPAN!!! Said they couldn’t take merchandise from a store located in another state. Isn’t Walmart owned by Sam Walton industries? Not franchised? Why doesn’t Walmart honor the words they built their company on? They have seemed to forgotten customer is always right!!!??? I remember Walmart would honor all returns if only with a Walmart gift card it still was compensation. But not anymore in late July 22 I traveled to Utah to visit conduct business. While in Utah my vehicle began to go bad. It was my battery purchased at Walmart less than a year before. Still under warranty. After being stranded in the 115 degree temps with a dead battery for over 3 hours. I removed the still under warranty battery and took it back to Walmart in Taylorsville UT feeling confident Walmart would help a traveler. Wrong!!! Nope I took my now spitting out acid battery into the store went to automotive after standing in cust service 45 minutes to exchange it so j could be on my way. Nope. Now they must check it so they did some gauge test and said battery is fine. Mind you I had just taken it to AutoZone and their machine said no good. And AutoZone tested in my presence. Walmart took it to the back. They said it would take 3 to 6 hours to test it. Feeling defeated I bought a NEW BATTERY EXACTLY AS THE ONE I WAS TRYING TO EXCHANGE!!! AFTER I ARRIVED IN RENO I TOOK THE NEW BATTERY I JUST PURCHASED IN UTAH AND HAD A RECEIPT WITH CLEAR AND EXACT PRINTED WALMART RECEIPT. AND THE FOLKS IN BOTH CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AUTOMOTIVE DENIED MY REQUEST TO REFUND MY MONEY FOR A INFERIOR AT BEST BATTERY NEVER USED STILL HAS TAB ON POST RECEIPT IN HAND BATTERY!!! IF THERE WERE ANY OTHER STORE IN AMERICA I GUARANTEE YOU THAT’S WHERE I’D BE!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO “CUSTOMER SERVICE”? ALL I SEE IN WALMART WORKING ARE UNEDUCATED SCROUNGY DIRTY HAIRED GOSSIPING TALKING ON THE PHONE PLAYING ON PHONE KIDS THINKING THEY RULE THE WORLD AND HAVE NO TIME TO DO THEIR JOB!!!
Awesome cart pushers
2. Goodwill
Address: 2565 Main St, Susanville, CA 96130 , Johnstonville , California , United States
Very well organized and clean. Hope they keep it that way!
Always fun shopping there with my wife
Prices are amazing
Well, like everyone else I frequent the quite often. I recently – about a week ago- found what looked like a Ladies Old Style (simple) wooden jewelry box with like wood stratled across laterally whereby say necklaces could be hung. I sold for $2.50 something. The wood alone is worth that. But I broke it down in a way where I used it as drawers for my Keurig cups and then the other piece used as a small bookshelf. It was a hack.
I donate a ton of items here often. I wish they would offer some sort of coupon for people who donate items like other thrift stores that I’ve been to. But other than that I am a regular customer here with my family and we do shop often as well. Prices are okay. Not super cheap. Also, they never answer the phone from the phone number provided on the Google. The number needs to be updated or something because when you donate items and call the phone number on the back of the building door, it works.
Overpriced.!!.. Need to be aware of the cost of new… Some things are priced above retail.!!
The web says open at 8. And the door says 9 be nice if they would correct this so people don’t drive there to wait . I give this a one star
The store smelled awful and items were priced high for being used.
They have Dollar Tree items for $2-upward. Walmart brand items cost more at Goodwill than at Walmart itself. I won’t purchase shoes there since they’re overpriced. $12 for boots that a practically trash. Dirty and nasty. Just completely dissatisfied with their pricing. Not to mention the staff are not friendly and completely unprofessional. On one occasion the lady working there yelled at a customer because she thought she was “stealing” and then fought with her about it. Said lady didn’t greet me or talk to me while checking out. Today she was on the phone with her “boss” as was the man at the checkout. Refused to say anything to me. Got off the phone and still didn’t greet me. There was an older ish lady there, early thirties if not late twenties, who was better but not great. She was way more helpful then the two teens there.

My favorite place in Susanville, so many books to
Choose from. Audio books too.
Helpful staff, family-run business. Large selection of used books. If they don’t have a book, they will order it for you.
Great place to find new and used books and toys for learning as well as games.
For a primarily used bookstore they’re the only place in town. Friendly service and they know everything going on locally, sell tickets and you even can pay your power bill.
Margie & David are fantastic, Lots of Books
Lots of book. So many books, so little time

Anytime I need something, I check here first. This is the best thrift shop in all of Lassen County as far as I’m concerned! It’s a big store and it’s always clean, organized, smells good. They have pretty much everything and then some. I have found awesome vintage pottery, books, movies, jewelry, brand name clothing that is unworn/brand new, kitchen appliances, Christmas decorations, you name it! Plus, the people who work and volunteer at Nu2u are just wonderful. It’s always a fun experience visiting the store.
On the main drag. Only take cash but they are friendly?
I am a bit confused as to what some people expect from a used item store. We stopped in the store for the first time a couple days ago. The wife was enjoying her experience, browsing the women’s used clothing when I arrived from a nearby book store. The clerk, I believe to be the owner, was pointing out the dressing room. I struck up a conversation, finding the lady to be open and friendly. While talking I saw a pair of men’s pants on a rack. I decided that since the pants were in near perfect condition I might purchase them. When I asked the price I felt that maybe me hearing had failed. I see in another review a person cares about the prices, well the price she was asking for thses pants was far more than reasonable, it made me feel like a petty thief. Those complaining about the prices should come to Reno to see really bad prices. The wife too found the prices to be low. So, friendly clerk, nice choices, great prices. We’ll be back.
Prices a little high on stuff in store but very clean…
Nice place huge lots of items
Skip this place. Very rude owner.
Waste of my time. Hours are WRONG. CLOSED at 4p on a Tuesday.
Overall un-welcome atmosphere. Person at the front desk was unnecessarily rude. You’re not missing anything by skipping this place.
6. CR Stuff Thrift Shop
Address: 372 Alexander Ave, Susanville, CA 96130 , Johnstonville , California , United States
It’s a McDonald’s so you know what to expect. Can be busy as it is right at the beginning, or end depending on which way you are traveling, of Susanville.
It’s pretty much one of the only spots around that I saw that you could get good clean fast food at. Dad really nice restrooms in the overall experience was pretty positive.when you drive in make sure you look over at the mountains and check out the pretty amazing view the play says cuz you can see pretty much everything in all directions.
McDonald’s is what it is
Worst restaurant i have been in for a long time
Fries were hot and fresh. My 20 piece nugget not so much. (Dry & hard) I asked for ranch and Buffalo. I got ranch and bbq. This happens EVERY single time I go to McDonald’s ♀️
Luckily yall gave us an extra cheeseburger or I’d be more upset
Mediocre food, avoid if you have food allergies.
9. Redbox
Address: 2970 Main St, Susanville, CA 96130 , Johnstonville , California , United States
I love to go paint!! The artist goes step by step to help you paint. Anyone can do it. It’s a great place to socialize and relax. Beer and wine are available if you want.
I had so much fun. The experience is worth every penny . They instructional portion of the painting was fantastic. The attitudes of everyone who worked there was amazing. I plan to go back as much as I can. Great gun.
Good time. Very friendly and professional staff. Thank you Bottles n Brush Art Bar
Two stars on the food …We shouldn’t have to wait 45 minutes for a charcuterie board, then receive it only to have to cut our own salami. They should definitely do that for the customers. Especially when you are already waiting so long in the first place.
11. Houser’s Music
Address: 1944 Bird St, Oroville, CA 95965 , Johnstonville , California , United States
Best music store in butte county. They are efficient professional and relatively cheap for the great quality. I would refer this to anyone.
I hadn’t visited this iconic little music store in quite a while (years) . Of course Bill was friendly and helpful although, I was very disappointed in the guitar selection. I remember the days of Fender, Taylor, Takamine…well, you get the gist. Overall, a good local shop to pick up needed items like picks, strings, etc.
Bought a AXL amp for my new Epiphone LG last week. Great sound from a small unit ! Tim
Small but nice
I was never there
Unimpressive staff support

Awesome shop with awesome staff. I was stoked to find they have a good selection of studio and synth gear along with everything else musical you could hope for.
Knowledgeable staff, friendly, welcoming to young children and teen as well as customers.wide variety and choices of music.
great spot, great people. a bit overwhelming but take a min and its easily appreciable
While it may seem like a bit of a hole-in-the-wall, the store offers a plethora of instruments and other musical paraphernalia. Music lessons also offered!
Love it
Yeah not too sure about that place I feel robbed every time I go in there, yeah of course there’s a lot of good stuff there but overall there wasn’t a chance for no stars they can have one I guess
Drove there on Sunday, as Google said they were open. They were not.
Over priced
14. Sherlock Music Shop
Address: 210 High St ste. C, Mt Shasta, CA 96067 , Johnstonville , California , United States
We are lucky to have this guy in town. He really knows his stuff. Repaired a vintage sampler with new tact switches and cleaned it up nice, really went above and beyond on that project. He also fixed up my guitar with all new internals, new hardware, and polished up to look brand again, as well as setting up the action very nicely. He builds amps. He will make you instrument cables if you need a custom length. I’m very thankful I didn’t have to send my equipment out of town for repairs.
Only local (non corporate) music store. Super informant owner that loves talking amps and tone.
Great amp repair!
Owners kinda of an a hole woundnt order strings for us, only wanted to sell us what he had
Knows the music business.
Went in for strings and left with more notable
Guitar repair shop but I bought guitar strings .
15. Yuba City Music Store
Address: 1527 Starr Dr, Yuba City, CA 95993 , Johnstonville , California , United States
Great store, good chat with the owner, check it when you are next in town.
Fantastic teacher. I’m learning a lot and very quickly. The lessons are very well priced aswell!
Eric the owner knows everything about guitars! He also offers great lessons and lots of unique instruments. We have purchased at least five guitars and my husband takes lessons from him. His prices are also very fair.
My son was in need of a flute for junior high band. They had a great price on a used one and were very knowledgeable. Thank you!
Not much of a selection,,a lot of really low end pieced together mutt guitars and amps.
Tried very hard to engage counter man in conversation,,but he just preferred to sit quietly while I looked over tiny inventory…..guess I will keep looking for a music store.
Zaful
16. Live Oak Music
Address: 14791 Mono Way, Sonora, CA 95370 , Johnstonville , California , United States
Comprehensive colection of instruments, good advice, friendly staff, I highly recommend.
Awesome customer service lv this place
Bernie and Co. are the most helpful guitar people in the world. Hands down.
A very friendly place!
Not a huge variety of guitars, maybe 20 guitars on the wall and most of them were similar models. Staff did not even acknowledge me during the 20 minutes I was in their building. Now being the only shop in town, it is time to step up their game.
Very friendly employees and a great selection of instruments. Some arent tuned the best but that’s an easy fix. They let my brother try out various electric guitars while me and my mother worked our way through the ukeleles, keyboards, and acoustic guitars.
The owner was very rude to me .Was completely unhelpful I’ll never go there again. He even insulted me
The two times I’ve been in there I’ve been completely ignored. They did welcome me in. But I stood at the counter waiting for the person to get off the phone. Which they were on for a good 25 minutes. Maybe I’m impatient idk. But I definitely wouldn’t have been treated like that by Bernie. He was so nice and encouraging. He always remembered me and said that I was talented and he enjoyed me and my brother coming in. This place just doesn’t do it for me. Going to Amazon from now on.
I ended up at brass reed. It was a more than pleasant experience. Just make sure they’re open before you drop In. I specifically needed stuff my guitar. They had everything I wanted and the guy working the counter took the time to ask me questions and actually help me.
Customer service is essential to me. I expect friendly staff that listen to me and try to help me. This is not that store. With unimpressive prices and staff, they convinced me not to go back.
18. El Dorado Hills Music, LLC
Address: 873 Embarcadero Dr Suite 1, El Dorado Hills, CA 95762 , Johnstonville , California , United States
Had my guitar worked on here. Very surprised with the level of service and pricing. Hidden gem of El Dorado Hills for sure!
The owner takes great pride in the shop. It’s long been regarded in the community to produce great musicians. My son absolutely loves taking piano lessons there. I highly recommend it!!
Excellent customer service and knowledgeable staff! Had everything we needed in one place and at affordable prices!
Their music selection was a bit small but they had everything I needed at a very reasonable cost.
Did not have a kazoo
The line was crazy long and they were extremely under staffed.
19. Watermelon Music
Address: 1970 Lake Blvd Suite #1, Davis, CA 95616 , Johnstonville , California , United States
Awesome instruments, even better prices.
Amazing customer service, would definitely come again.
They try to help you as much as they can and they’re always ready to order what they don’t have for you
Biggest music shop in Davis.
Pretentiousness in some staff leads one to want to shop elsewhere…i love helping out small businesses but… They can’t have that attitude
On the good side, it coordinates with many music instrument teachers to offer a wide range of private lessons. However I found that its music products’ price tags are at the higher end.
VERY RUDE STAFF!!! I am a beginner Alto Sax player, and instead of the sales staff being informative and helpful, they were extremely belittling, petty, and RUDE! Their supply of sheet music is extremely sub par for the instrument, and the environment is very unwelcoming! Someone really needs to remind these people that 1.) They work in a music store…that’s their job, and 2.) They live in the city of Davis!!!, not Beverly Hills, not Malibu…Davis! Please do not support this establishment in the future..by the way, its obvious that most of these good reviews are written by the employees.
I purchased a new G&L Fallout guitar only to discover an issue with the grounding of the toggle switch and output. I brought it back to Watermelon and they initially said that they couldn’t find an issue. I told them to keep looking and described how I found the issue. Later that day, they said that they did discover a lose ground wire and that they soldered it back into place. When I got the guitar back home I discovered some lose screws on the pickguard. I tightened up the lose screws, but the ground hum and grounding issue was still very prevalent. I could take the guitar back for “store credit” but to tell you the truth I don’t want to have to deal with people I can’t trust and I won’t be going back to Watermelon Music. So, now I am stuck “fixing” a brand new guitar so I can at least stand to play the thing.
Don’t bring your instrument to get repaired here. Very laggy with no communication. Waste of time.
20. Micks Big Bite Cafe
Address: 2101 Main St, Susanville, CA 96130 , Johnstonville , California , United States
Excellent food, excellent service, and good prices
Had a great time with the staff.
Really nice cappuccino and breakfast items. If you want something light the veggie omlettes are good, we tried the cinnamon french toast which was decent so maybe will go for pancakes next time to play it safe. The classic breakfast is also really good especially the sausage.
Went to dinner with family and they had great food and service
I usually order for lunch never have and issue….
Tonight i ordered dinner…. my portions were half the normal size…. the spaghetti was barely warm … when i called to complain there was no offer to fix the issues… might as well been told not my problem…
$50 down the drain
Over priced and rude, lack of attentive behavior.
Have been there once a while ago. I went with my family and their food was cold in the middle and when I asked for some jam, the waiter was simply rude. I reported it on their Facebook page and they said it was fake news. I’m sorry but instead if trying to cover the problem, just fix it. Tried deliver too, it was hot for once, but it took 2 and a half hours to get here. The biscuits I had were dry and hard. Will not be eating there EVER again.
