Just like the 5-Stars indicate… this store ROCKS and I LOVED IT! ’twas a really great experience had on the Grand Opening of GC/Athens. Great New Store, Great New Crew and it’s loaded with a bunch of Great Equipment! I just had to ‘go there’.. and ‘see inside’
..and so I came home with a beautiful new Black Martin D35.. and it ROCKS! That’s all.

Very helpful
Great acustic selection
Well, we only went in for a sustain pedal. The young guy at the counter helped me out. But then I realized the part of the pedal I was supposed to connect the piano to was to big. So i went in again & found an attachment. So yeah, 🙂
Staff very helpful, good price. Will buy there again.
Meh. Good for beginners and routine supplies. Selection of professional gear is slim compared to larger guitar centers, but that can’t be helped I guess. Most things “can to ordered” aka shop online, ship to home, save the trip. So why go to the store?
Staff is pretty friendly. That’s a plus. You also don’t have as many typical “guitar center jammers,” which is nice.
I have been into this store three times now looking to purchase a nice keyboard. (Twice this past week.) Not once has anyone asked me if I needed any help or assistance. No friendly welcome, and the guys seem to not want to leave from behind the counter. Perhaps looking at a cell phone is more important. If you want assistance, you’re on your own here.
I called and spoke with TJ who I assume is a manager and I told him I had a piece of gear a Roland M 400 mixer he said he would be interested in it just bringing an end to show him and he can appraise it for me I have my 2 sons 18 and 11 take the piece of gear into the location my son’s called me telling me that upon walking into the store they were turned around at the door immediately saying that the piece of gear is too big and it wouldn’t be interested thank you TJ for wasting our time we love Guitar Center but TJ should at least look up the piece of gear before telling someone to bring it in thank you guys have a great day
I went to that store to get a drum set for my son I spent 1 hour looking around no one ask me if I need help they just there joke around have fun.

Took my Gibson acoustic in one day for an adjustment. I didn’t have an appointment because it was a spur of the moment trip. They took care of it with no problem at all. Great store.
Everyone was helpful great selection for a small store got a really good deal
The people are friendly they had what I wanted.
Nice place,i purchased fender guitar!
Lends competition to the area
I went to return a purchase and the staff was very rude and not interested in anything I had to say. They were more focused on having a conversation with each other than the customer….nothing like the stores in ATL!
Horrible customer service. There policy states anything over $250 will be returned by visa or check, what it needs to say is they don’t do a cash refund even if you just paid cash for it. Management at Macon location needs to be replaced immediately
This place is ok for a box store feel. I have been here 3 times now and the staff seems like they care more about hanging out than helping customers. I got the feeling that I was bothering them when I asked questions or even when I went to check out. 0 stars for customer service.
Gave me a good deal on a piece of gear I decided to sell as I scale down to a more “mobile” setup. Very pleased.
Muy bueno
A salesman Bryan was excellent at helping us with our purchase.
Caro y no se encuentra lo que buscas
Bass selection wasn’t great, 4 of 6 instruments I tried were broken, and only 1 of them were used. All guitars I tried were in almost new to new condition. But got my hands on an LTD 6 string and it is one of the best basses I’ve ever played. I’ve never been a fan of ltd or six strings but the BA 206 won me over. And not surprisingly it had just gotten on the sales floor that morning. Huge shoutout to John, helped me out every request I had and is one of the best salesman I’ve met at a music store.
Cool staff, good selection, the place just needs a face lift.
Terrible customer service. Finding new vendor!
Bad selection
Stupid floor sales guys treat you as if they are doing you a favor. They work on commissions, so they kept interrupting and attending to other customers. I will have to go there because there is not much competition for the product set.

A young man named Ridge helped me , he was very efficient and quick. And I’m always happy to see my old friend Steve, the manager.
Large selection of items for your guitar needa
Helpful good prices all your music stuff
Really..
Large store with something for every musician. You are permitted to touch/play many of the instruments. Many accessories available, staff is adequately friendly and attentive.
Twice I have visited this store willing to make a purchase and both times I have received miserable service and had to leave
Don’t NEVER shop at this location…. I waited for 45 minutes for someone to ask me if I need help…. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE IN PRO AUDIO….
Went in to try and find a new acoustic guitar and was immediately denied service and asked to leave simply because I don’t have a face mask and can’t wear one due to mental health conditions and anxiety attacks
8. Music Go Round – Atlanta/Duluth, GA
Address: 3675 Satellite Blvd # 100, Duluth, GA 30096 , Jua , Georgia , United States
Staff always helpful. Good selection of used gear fairly priced.
They have a lot of great deals on used equipment and guitars
Excellent
Super friendly and helpful staff. The majority of the guitars are accessible to try without needing assistance, unlike GC. They seem to have comparable or lower prices than Reverb. One con is some of the guitars need new strings and a setup.
These folks are incredibly friendly, flexible, and knowledgeable. You are absolutely encouraged to test the equipment before you buy to see if it does everything you want it to. They’ll even help you run the test.
Great customer service
Cool if you’re looking for music gear but terrible place to sell, all these guys do is low ball you and try to make as much profit on your gear as possible. Would give a better review if your employees weren’t so stuck up. They’ll be happy to take your money though anytime.
If I could give no stars, I would. My daughter found a violin ONLINE that she called this store and asked about. A friend of mine wanted to purchase it with his credit card and have it shipped as a gift to my daughter in Kansas. They refused to let him purchase it with his credit card and ship it somewhere besides his billing address. He called them, and I thought maybe he was just coming across harshly; therefore, I called them. I spoke to Josh (I think that was his name). He told me that they had someone arrested just last week for fraud, and shipping it out somewhere besides the billing address is a “red flag.” Really?? I asked to speak to a manager, and he said that they “manage themselves.” Interesting. I apologized that I would not be purchasing the violin from them, and his response? “We’ll survive.” All I can say is that my daughter’s violin won’t come from this place, nor will I recommend this place. You have products online, people. It is Christmas. They aren’t going to want to purchase something that they can’t ship to someone out of State. You’ll survive, though.
Also, just so the owner is also aware, Josh basically told my friend who planned to by the violin that he would like to have the conversation with my friend in Duluth, GA, and accused him of trying to pull a fast one on him. Over a violin? C’mon! He asked to speak to the owner, and Josh told him he would have to email the owner When my friend told him he was calling from Houston, he hung up on him.
I don’t think training is going to change the cocky attitude.

I always enjoy patronizing this place! I’ve gotten great guitars at great deals w/accessories. That’s what they’re there for!
I go there to accompany my son who’s a musician it was a musician and of course I’m a vocalist but I just enjoy the atmosphere and then watching everyone do improvisational jam sessions
This place is awesome I live in Texas and I saw they had a used Martin. I can’t remember the guys name that helped me but when I did call everyone there was very helpful and knowledgeable. I love this place and if I ever need another Martin or any kind of guitar I am definably going here. I gave 5 stars cause these people were awesome fast and friendly. I called on a Thursday and the got it shipped to me. I got my guitar Wednesday I highly recommend them nicestest people I know and this was a gift for my husband for his bday/fathersday/ everything he has done for me since my ankle surgery. See years ago I got him a 12 string martin but it was stolen out our house in Cali and every since my husband wanted to get one back so when I saw these people had a 12 string used martin I knew I had to get it so I got it and yes it brought so many tears to my husband’s eyes thanks for been so amazing and been able to get this delivered to me. You all are awesome.thanks so very much. The
Used Martin 12 string guitar I got was so amazing very nice the case was amazing too my husband loves it thanks for all your help and shipping it to me Dessie Dunkin
Good
Overall good! People are knowledgeable and helpful. Could use a bit more product knowledge when it comes to shipping contents on certain items. Also store not large enough to play Acoustic drum sets, heads up.
Employees are helpful and friendly. It’s smaller than most gc’s I’ve been to and may not have all the high end stuff that other locations might but has the essentials and then some.
I was just there earlier had a few questions waited for 30 min for the dj specialist to answer my question and he was on the phone the whole time so I just walked out.!Will try a different store next time for sure!
I don’t know how places like this are still open. I try to give them my business to be told “out of stock, we can order and have it shipped in a week”. I guess I’ll throw more cash at Amazon and save time/money/effort
I am completely blown away. I have bought numerous strings, accessories, and gear from G.C. Over the years. I visited the Kennesaw location, looking for a new Martin or Taylor. I was approached by an associate and he walked me to the Acoustic room. The manager was behind the counter with another young man and never acknowledged my presence. The young man showed me a VERY slim selection, and tried to sell me a Breedlove after I told him I had one and was looking for a Martin or Tayler. After that, he walked out saying, “ if you want to play one of those I have to get my manager.” OF COURSE I WANT TO!! I told you I was looking for a Martin or Taylor.!!!! So, I walked if of the acoustic room, and found him behind a set of drums with the other young man. After I stood there again without acknowledgement, I asked to play a Martin. The manager replied yes, and got up seemed aggravated. He unlocked 2 Martin’s. No questions, no concern as to answer any questions I had. I asked about the differences between Martin and Taylor’s wood, he responded, “ I’m a drummer, let me get my guitar guy.” Seemed to be desperate to get back to his drum jam session.
Gets better..
A young kid comes in, starts fixing the tags, says nothing. So, I ask a few questions to see what he knows, benefit of the doubt. After trying to get some help, we left. Walked around to see if the manager would say anything, then walked out. No one spoke. So, today, I purchased a Martin from Ken Stanton spending $1400+.
Guitar Center, you lost my business. Due to, lack of management, and competent staff.

Collection was good but I wished the staff there were a bit helpful and not always busy in there selves.
Nice enough. Not too judgemental about what you’re looking at. The guys can be a bit snooty but still helpful.
Visited Guitar center Cobb Pkwy yesterday. Was not greeted in the drum room. The guy working drums just looked at me. I didn’t get the feeling my business was appreciated, so decided to leave..
Every time I have came to this guitar center (3 times during 2015) , I have had a problem that needed to be fixed, which was fixed, but only temporarily. First, I bought an entirely new internal set up( labor fees as well) . Only a few months went by until it messed up again. I went back in, paid AGAIN for a new jack this time, and had it fixed. Today I just found out a wire is loose in the *input jack…..and there is no way in hell I can trust yall to fix it. Thanks for nothing. enjoy my money!
I saw a used Schecter Hellraiser C-1 listed as “excellent condition” on the GC website, so I called the store and talked to a Sales Associate named Brandon. I had him look the guitar over and tell me if there was anything wrong with the guitar that was obvious. He said it looked great. I ordered the guitar. What arrived was certainly not excellent. Both pickups were cracked and you could wobble them back and forth with your finger… and the body finish had damage (small scratches, small dents) of some kind pretty much any place you looked. I didn’t even bother trying to tune it because upon closer inspection, the A string was almost snapping off at the head tuner. The closest GC to return the thing to was an hour away both ways and I was only on 3 hours of sleep, I still went right away because of how angry I was. BEWARE OF BUYING ANYTHING SIGHT UNSEEN FROM THIS STORE!
Employees are generally miserable and unhelpful
11. Jackson’s Music Store Inc
Address: 1651 Horizon Pkwy #500, Buford, GA 30518 , Jua , Georgia , United States
I recently had my sons alto saxophone repaired through Jackson’s music store. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The repair came back quickly and at a very good price I recommend them to anyone in need of service or equipment. Fantastic staff and thanks again!!!
Great shop for band instruments as well as player instruments.
Good selection of accessories
Chad was very helpful.
Employees know there job but convenience is a -1
this store is downright awful. the service is terrible and they try to pull every penny out of your pockets. small fixes can be charge to up to $200 and is downright despicable.
I just went in to get son a guitar and then guy in dreads is supposedly the manager and it was an issue for him to even help us. I asked to see his manager and he lied and said he wasnt in. And then he told me to leave. Do not go to this store. Go somewhere where they want your business.
No inventory.
12. Town Center Music

Dustin did a set up on my sorry old Epiphone LP. Best money I’ve ever spent. Never sounded our played better. Thanks!
Justin at the front was also a pleasure to deal with. I’ll be back.
Great personal service.
Always fast, friendly, knowledgeable service! I am so glad they are close by and that I can trust our guitar to them! They know exactly what needs to be done.
Much better store I not been here in a while the past manager was not a music guy or a manger known as a air head I will be back
Good
Taught my kids to play guitar
Wow. Just called Town Center Music. Someone answered. I started asking about a guitar I’m looking for and got cut off mid-sentence by the guy talking loudly to a co-worker. When he stopped talking I said hello? Hello? Nothing. A few seconds later he hangs up.
Not where u want to shop you find poorly trained staff and not music people I shopped here off and on for years . just not good pepole
AVOID AVIOD
High prices not helpful run by a guy who looks 40 and still in a garage band no music
background not open late any place better then here. Manger is clueless.
13. Musician’s Warehouse
Address: 245 N Lumpkin St, Athens, GA 30601 , Jua , Georgia , United States
Great service and selection!!! The owner went out of his way to change his schedule to go to his warehouse to get me a drum head I needed. On top of that he gave me a discount. I will always go only there! Best in town!!!!!!
These guys communicated quickly and, y’know, like real people, which is pretty refreshing. They shipped SUPER fast too, so I had my new guitar in hand just days from making the purchase. The guitar showed up in perfect shape. Glad to have given them my business.
Very nice store. Great selection of quality musical instruments. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. A nice departure from some of the big box music stores.
Nice selection of stringed and percussion instruments. Pretty decent prices, too.
Could be a little more organized. Drum area needs more open space. And more displayed of items. Seems pretty congested.
Professional assistance provided.
Dude I’m not sure what happened. The first floor is desolate (empty for everybody that’s currently reading this while dunk). I understand social distancing, but I’m I am attending Warehouse, I do not care about the current situation, I’m here to rave. Open the first floor for a mosh pit.
Really wanted to like this company. I was cheated and conned, and after a week with zero communication I contacted them. They fumbled around for another day or two then stated they couldn’t find the item. I was left empty handed and confused. No attempt at finding the item or ordering another. Nothing. Zip. C’mon guys!
Poor selection. If you like grandpa guitars this is the place. Wouldnt recomend to any modern guitar players.
14. Village Music
Address: 114 N Avondale Rd, Avondale Estates, GA 30002 , Jua , Georgia , United States
ATTENTION ALL GUITARISTS! If you are in need of any kind of work done to your guitar… Village Music is the place to go. I recently had an amazing experience with Jake Willoughby and Village Music. I was in need of a few upgrades and some fret re-work/setup done to my Ibanez As73. Jake’s attention to detail, clear communication and video updates of his progress with my guitar was AMAZING. Jake took my entry level guitar and made it sound and play like a top tier semi-hollow electric guitar. I will take all of my guitars to Village Music and have Jake work on them going forward. Do yourself a favor and request Jake for all your guitar repair/upgrade/setup needs. He does amazing work!
Village Music is a brilliant store full of knowledgeable and friendly staff. Let the team at Village Music know what you need and they will find a solution for you. We are very lucky to have a place like Village Music in our community. I’m looking forward to my next visit and recommend everyone check this place out. It rocks!
Love this place! A wonderful music store with so many interesting items. If you want guitars to buy or repair your own…this is the place, they also have percussion, keyboards, and so much more! I know the owner/manager Nick for many years, and he is a great guy who is also a great musician. He also has wonderful staff to help anyone.
Gotta go see for yourself!
Very cool music gear spot in Avondale Estates.
Called the store 3 times before arriving employee was sitting down on his phone when I walked in so I’m assuming the phone is not connected in the store.
First time guitar owner needing new strings put on was told to bring in my guitar and stings in from the car.
When I came back in I was to he’s no expert and someone could get to it later.
Not a big deal at all I just wish I would have know that before driving over and being told to go grab my item from my vehicle.
I visited this store which was rated as a great pace to sell vinyl records. Well I agreed to sell some of my records for a paltry $25 to be received via cash app, even though the clerk told me the owner has a habit to forget things, but I was assured my money would’ve be sent the same night or next morning. Still have not received my payment. Extremely unprofessional especially for such a small amount of money. Extremely disappointing and dissatisfied and would advise against utilizing this service
15. Jackson’s Music Store Inc
Address: 5485 Westmoreland Plaza, Douglasville, GA 30134 , Jua , Georgia , United States
Learned a lot by coming here. Great friendly staff. Thank you for the experience.
Knowledgeable people. Decent selection of instruments and gear. And their prices are as good as an online retailer. It’s awesome to have a real shop in town.
Great place!
Nice store. Friendly folks!
Good customer service. Very knowledge.
The salesman i had there knew HIS STUFF…. KNOWLEDGE!
Very unhappy with the service on a product exchange. Came into the store this morning and made a purchase very possibly a four-star transaction. They were very helpful the sales guy that helped us initially. But upon returning to the store to exchange after realizing that the wrong mic cord was purchased the customer service received from the manager was very inappropriate. The salesman that sold us the cord initially apologized that he assumed that we needed the cord that he sold us the first time. So he apologized and went back to get the manager to do the exchange. The manager was clearly disgusted with us because we wanted to exchange the cord that was only two dollars difference in price. We even said that he could keep the change. He was typing on the keyboard very hard and just looking at us and like he didn’t want to be bothered and basically threw the original receipt back at us. Maybe he was having a bad day. He made a comment to the salesman about another customer in the store who was playing a guitar saying “why is he even here?” The salesman said he didn’t know. So maybe the manager was having a bad day.I don’t know but don’t take it out on your customers. I surely will not be back.
People there are polite enough, but have no business sense, if you’re not familiar with the music industry they will belittle you. Do not sell equipment to them, they only do consignment (which is a very outdated idea imo), and offer a 70/30% which is higher than typical music shops.
I’ve went to Jackson’s music a few times in the past couple of years. I have purchased a drum set from them and its my number one kit still to this day. For the most part friendliness is in the atmosphere when the older guys are working, the younger guy on the other hand is lazy and careless and doesn’t see the need to know about drum accessories even being the store salesman that he is.. I guess he’s a guitar guy or something. I feel as if anyone that was clueless about music or music instruments could do a better job than that guy. The guy acted as if he didn’t know what I was talking about and was trying to pretty much get me off the phone until I pushed the issue. Then he was like, “oh I know what you’re talking about.” This was after I walked him through what I was in need of twice! Anyways the guy clearly knew what I was talking about and was more than likely anxious to get off on time instead of making one more sale for the day. He even told me that someone else called this past week about the same thing. In store experience is definitely the route to go. If you call you’ll more than likely get the careless and clueless young guy on the phone that doesn’t even deserve his job. I don’t know if it’s because he didn’t get the training he needed or if he likes to milk the system but whatever the case may be he obviously can’t help you because he can’t even help himself or the store by doing a good job.
16. Jerry Lee’s Music Store
Address: 101 West St Patrick St, St Marys, GA 31558 , Jua , Georgia , United States
Awesome place and the owner was super nice and helpful. He was upfront and honest. Didn’t try to oversell or hustle me into buying something I didn’t need. Offered lessons and gave me some wonderful and helpful info. Very excited to work with this music store and support a local business and not a big brand store.
Killer guitars, Jerry Lee’s gets all my money…( Don’t tell my wife but I’ve bought 4 so far)
Had to replace my banjo strings while traveling through georgia. Stopped here being it was the closest place, but glad I stopped in. Very friendly folk
It’s pretty cool. Like the people there.
Nice people. They also offer classes at reasonable prices for any aspiring musicians.
Neat little music shop with some quality products. Not a huge selection, but they have what you need.
If you are into electric guitars, the selection is very limited, and even the ones in stock had problems.

Tyler is the man! Always very helpful and willing to go the extra mile!
Staff is super helpful. They keep lists for your kids school too!
Good service and very knowledgeable
Went to this location to rent a Cello because that is where the school told us to go. Despite calling to confirm they have every size Cello available, upon arriving, I was told by the Associate that she does not have anything to size my child for a Cello. When I told her we were sent to this store and if she can’t help us we would have to find a store that could, she said she was sorry that she could not help us and allowed us to walk out of the store. Will not be renting or buying from this store ever!
Will not use them again. We had a signed contract for a rental and after several months, they realized that they made a mistake on the pricing. They did not honor their agreement and changed the terms and we had to pay higher price. Signed agreements mean nothing to them.
They tried several times to take $800 out of my account for rental. Had to cancel my bank card-
18. Sam Ash Music Stores
Address: 2999 Cobb Pkwy, Atlanta, GA 30339 , Jua , Georgia , United States
Stopped by today after being very disappointed by a different unnamed guitar store yesterday. My experience here was fantastic, and I ended up leaving with a gorgeous Telecaster that I look forward to playing for a long time.
Good experience with a young man who knew his stuff.
Our sales person, Alex, was knowledgeable, super friendly & engaging. He was awesome!
It was ok
Got a used Flute for my child. I would have given 5 stars, but the salesman was creepy and very aggressive (to the point of being obnoxious). If I didn’t like the flute so much, I would have left and never gone back.
Music
Pretty barren, looks like it’s going out of business with how little inventory there is. This place used to have a lot of high end stuff, but now it’s basically all beginner gear.
Edit: A month later, even less inventory. It would not surprise me if this location closed.
Plain Bad customer service…
Samash has fallen off. Service suck. Couldn’t hook anything up to test used speaker. They didn’t know the price of anything. I’ve spent so much money in that place over 25 years. Unfortunately it will end today. I went right down to guitar center and got what I wanted with good service.
19. Randy Wood Guitars

Great little music store with quality stringed instruments and knowledgeable craftsmen. If you go on a Saturday afternoon you might hear some live bluegrass picking and singing!
Jan. 2019 update: Really enjoyed getting to hear the Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver show in the Pickin’ Parlor! Great, intimate concert setting with amazing acoustics and a stellar view from every seat!
Best guitar lessons with Ricky Standard!! My son has done amazing!!
Cool spot with a great antique righty Gibson acoustic transformed into a lefty that I wish I could afford!
So I will say they haven’t had a chance to reach back out and fix the situation. I brought my guitar in for a set up brand new. I know I should have looked and inspected the guitar right away. But I have a before and after picture there was no damage to the guitar again brand new after I got the set up this damage was right where I can see they tried to use the truss rod adjustment tool. I know guitars get slightly dinged up but like come on…..
I will say people were nice, and guitar set up was ok. I will adjust the rating depending if they get back to me.
Edit they called me back right away I bumped up extra star guys were nice about it. I wasn’t trying to get anything out of it I just want it to be a learning experience.
Went to eat at Flacos Tacos.
Had a Gibson SG refinished here and it was terrible. Very patchy and uneven coverage. Worst of all was the headstock. I am a little perplexed though, they have many great reviews and other great pictures. The folks there were nice, decent selection of guitars for sale, no other complaints. I’m not sure why my guitar came out so bad.
Terrible service and terrible work.
Would never recommend to anyone.
Stay away!

Store manager very willing to help on multiple occasions, thanks!
The staff is absolutely wonderful! I truly felt more confident once I left!
Great store!
We didn’t have any lesson but the staff that was working there was friendly and kind. They help us out a lot and the price was ok I’ve seen better price on some of there stuff but they items we went to get was a good price
Teachers vary depending on instrumental focus
Muisc que
Never rent music instrument from them. They have many tricks under their sleeves to squeeze money out of customers. We ended up paying a lot more than we expected. They applied our monthly rent to the MRP instead of sale price.
Experience with teacher depends on which instrument you are learning. But dont rent from them.
I have been going here since this location opened over 5 years ago. I have spent hundreds on books and piano lessons here. Despite the horrible piano teachers, it used to be worth the price for books, because it was a friendly atmosphere.
This store now has new management. They are selective about which customers they will treat well, and which customers they will manipulate. I, unfortunately am of the latter, and their region manager will not even talk to me about it.
Now that I feel used by this company, and treated unfairly, I most likely will never shop at this store again.
It is good though, because I think their teachers prices are a sham for what I learned, and I can find the music I am actually looking for for half the price on amazon.
