There flutes are high end, handcraft quality instruments. I’m very happy with de two flutes I bought from them and I am looking forward to expand my high spirits flute collection. Odell Borg’s tutorial videos are great to learn the bases, and also to continue learning one’s your at an intermediate level.

I started the native flute about 6 months ago due to a lung disease, a friend mentioned it would be good therapy. Within a couple of months my length of playing time has doubled. I have found High Spirits Flutes not only make a superior flute but their customer service is unequaled. I have bothered them with many emails as well as phone calls and they handled this with high spirits and great humor not to mention they are very helpful. Not once have I heard the term, “Gee, I don’t know, let me check into that”. I am getting ready to purchase my third flute from High Spirits. Thank you Jessica and to all the staff for all of your help and advice.

I have purchased two flutes for my wife from High Spirits over the course of three years – the “Sparrow Hawk” key of A, walnut, and the “Spirit Flute Traditional Bass” Key of D, Spanish cedar. Both are extremely well crafted, easy to play and look fantastic. My wife is not a musician and practices sporadically, but she has nonetheless made good progress because of the ease and “approachability” of these instruments. I am most impressed with the Spirit Flute; my wife was seeking a deeper tone, but a traditional “D” bass flute is rather large and can be cumbersome for a beginner. Somehow, Odell Borg, the “spirit” and craftsman behind these flutes and this company, was able to design a shorter, much easier to handle flute without sacrificing any of the deep, “D” tones. We have a neighbor who owns High Spirits traditional “D” bass flutes; played the two side-by-side, and there is very little discernible difference. Quite a feat!

I recently heard that High Spirits suffered a terrible fire at their business that nearly wiped them out. I can’t tell you what a grave loss that would have been to the spirit of all musicians who seek authentic Native American instruments. May Odell and High Spirits continue on for many, many moons to come!

I was delighted with my first High Spirit pocket flute in G after trying out and found out that it can hit high D note and subsequent bought another in A key which made me sad as it is unable to hit the higj E note.

Website shows open on Saturday, went to store on Saturday @ 215 pm and they were closed. We’ll never be back until they get there hours straightened out!!! Very disappointed. But I love ❤️ there flutes.

We came into the store today for the first time and we were very impressed. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Tyler went above and beyond, had good recommendations and was fun to talk to. We’re happy with the piano we purchased and we will be back for our future instrument needs and possibly a piano lesson. Just want to say that I am a fan of this store. I think they do a great job at helping people find what they are looking for and have them leaving satisfied with their musical purchases. With that being said, I want to make a point that only having one store closer is unsafe. Multiple times in the past year I have heard of there being theft. I’m concerned for the employees’ safety and customer safety.
Protect your employees! They make the company money!

Abit more expensive than the guitar center.

I used to be loyal customer for years. Howerver, M&A’s new strategy of “Paperless receipts”, requires that I provide my email address for a purchase. Their “paperless reciept” excuse is nothing more than a strategic excuse to obtain email addresses so they can spam. When I stated I do not provide my email, they refused to sell me a service. I have since found a local music store that is more friendly and will no longer use M&A.

I was very unhappy with the way this store sold us an instrument after we rented one for over two years. We qualified for the rental credit and it was given to us. The problem was that they valued the used rental instrument at $800+ and they sell the same one brand new for about $470. The reason they do that is that there is a clause that states that when using the rental credit one must buy an instrument that cost the same or more than the rental so they jack up the value of the rental. We were told that we couldn’t buy the flute we had been renting and could not get a new flute because it wasn’t equal or more value to the one we had been renting per terms of our agreement. They said that our only option was to purchase a used refurbished flute from the warehouse and it would be sent to us. We feel that this is a very shady way to do business. Not recommended. One of the worst experiences I have ever had dealing with incompetent employees all the way up to management (heaven) to even cooperate , I’m so thankful I no longer have to deal with any of these people again especially the guitar instructor, I did not appreciate every little comment he made about any of the equipment we brought in to shame my child because the items he brought in were passed down from his grandfather , I also find it way more convenient to order my items on Amazon for a much lower rate and to not have to deal with individuals that are looking to charge me an over priced rate , I gave a small shop a chance to help out locally and all they did was run the “he said she said “ experience, I will not and do not recommend this place to anyone , one of the worst experiences I have ever had at any facility . Good riddance !!!!

I had never played an instrument before coming to Fletcher Music Center in Tucson. What a thrill to play my favorite songs.

Don’t schedule with them to perform for your facilities.
They will schedule with you, then not show up. Then when you call to see what happen they will claim there is no record of anything ever being scheduled. We will be doing business elsewhere.

I could not agree more with those who shared these people prey on the elderly. My very elderly father purchased a top of the line organ and had roughly $80k invested in it. I won’t even go into the details of the transaction(s) but he passed away and fletchers sold it on consignment, and I kid you not, the family got 3.7 cents on the dollar for a near new organ. I would love to know who they preyed on next and how much they sold it for (mind you that it sold almost immediately). Draw your own conclusions from this review but we find this entire industry to be utterly despicable.

Fairly good music store. They are a little too corporate for my tastes now. They used to work with you on price now its, the advertised price is the price.

The staff seemed fairly knowledgeable but I felt very pressured. So first off I am very new to the guitar and I don’t know too much about it. I was came in simply looking for strings. I didn’t know really what I was looking for. The staff was very helpful in getting me hooked up but I felt like I was pressured to much into buying the premium strings and also into some other non needed gear. I could be wrong but it felt like they were being paid on commission. I would recommend relaxing a little on helping a customer and talk more simply and not do you want it to sound like a Gibson or a Fender. Honestly I’m not sure ‍♂️

Very cozy bookstore with tasty treats and snacks from local vendors. I love the concept. And they have board games for sale! I’ve used the wifi to get some studying done and would definitely recommend this place. There are at least 3 outlets accessible near seating. I can tell the space was designed with care.

Nice little place. Iced matcha was a 2/5 and the bagel was a 4/5. The place is new so everything is super clean and the staff is nice.

I love bookstores! I wish I loved this place, but I didn’t. It’s more of a coffee shop/gift shop with a smattering of books, none of which piqued my interest in any way (which is unusual for me). Normally I’m walking out and my wife is saying “ANOTHER book”?..not this time…walked through in 5 minutes..done. I wish the owners all the best, but it’s not for me.

This place needs a few more customers that are interested in older instruments. Nice people. Bought a older repaired guitar and gig bag. Perfect for someone who just wants to see if they like playing a guitar.

They repaired my 12 string guitar

I am absolutely incredulous as to how condescendingly I was treated over the phone by this place. I arrived with my Taylor 312-CE looking to trade up and quite likely spend substantial chunk of money. I noticed the posting on the door that read (I may be paraphrasing) “masks required even for those vaccinated.” I have been twice jabbed with Pfizer, but no problem. I get it. I understand it. People may not be fully honest about their status and might contaminate others. I have zero issue complying with the policy The posting also read “do not knock; call to be granted entry” (again, I may be paraphrasing, but this was the gist). I keep a KN-95 with me in the car but couldn’t find it. Maybe it fell behind the seat or something. I ring their number. A woman answers. Convo goes like this: “Hi, I noticed you require masks even for the vaxxed, which I am fully, but I can’t seem to find mine here in my car….I’m here outside….do you happen to have any masks there inside the store that you could pass out to me”? (like logical, sensible merchants across town, the state, the country have in abundance in case you forgot or can’t find yours—sterile ones for the taking in boxes) “If not, I don’t live too far. I can run home, grab one and come back”. The woman on the phone raises her voice and says “NO YOU NEED TO WEAR A MASK” and abruptly hangs up!! Um, I think I got that part and more than amply communicated it back. Wow. And delivered with a tone of voice akin to Mrs. Gulch from Wizard of Oz. I was perfectly polite, acknowledged the policy and was willing to go out of my way to comply. This is not only ridiculously bad policy, but there was not even basic intelligible, lucid communication on her part. Not the conduct of a sound minded individual.

Now, for some background. I have never made any major purchases at Folk Shop. However, I have patronized them over years–even before I moved to Tucson. The first time, I was recording an album visiting from Austin in 2014 and needed a dobro capo. The engineer called around to Guitar Center and few other places. They didn’t even know what a dobro was, much less a dobro capo. Folk Shop to the rescue with a Paul Beard capo, just like the one I had forgotten and left back in TX! I’ve been there since for strings, straps, stainless steel slides etc. Never ever the slightest of problems. What happened today is totally inexcusable. I myself have been fastidious and a stickler about masking and distancing throughout the pandemic, but this kind of post-mandate fanaticism, illogic and outright meanness is beyond the pale. They certainly don’t want my money or any of my future business. To hell with this place. l’ll buy a guitar from Musician’s Friend before stepping foot in there, even though I prefer to shop locally.

Very rude disrespectful because I was asking for a part and I didn’t have a mask and I wasn’t trying to go in the place without permission and they were just very rude very very rude and I didn’t understand I was thrown off by it. Yelling at me for no reason all I wanted was a part I didn’t even try to go into shop told her I’d wait outside because I didn’t have a mask she slams door in my face. So I go get a mask and they won’t even deal with me I was the up most respectful and didn’t deserve that. Very very rude!!! I’ll never do business with them again.

Well, over the years I’ve bought, sold, and traded with Paul and really wouldn’t do so again. The last guitar I purchased there had broken tuner barrels and more important, his pricing and moods vary wildly. Certainly lots to look at, but no great shakes in terms of quality or pricing.

Took my clarinet in for the simplest repair. Took more then 3 months to get it back.

John took my bass for a setup about a month ago. He first said it would take about a week. a week later, I called in and he said he was working on it that day. When I came in the towards the end of the following day John had not worked on the instrument at all. Instead of providing customer service, he gave the run around and said it would be done in a week, he said he would call me the following Monday. Havent heard from him since, now i have to find time to go back to retrieve my property and i expect him to give me a hard time based on how he has treated me so far. Wish i could give 0 stars, its been a month.

One entrance to go in, the one at the far end of the store. You’d think they could use the middle entrance instead, but no, that would make to much sense. Store has fair supply of goods but forget trying to find help, to cheap to hire more people.

Cashier rude.issue with online return.when i finally got my return done , the gift card didn’t work.the layout of this Walmart is wird.and always have a hard time getting what I need.stuff not in stock.i have notice to ,that the prices are higher on some stuff then the other Walmart witch i think is outrageous.

Too crowded, too many not wearing masks. Employees cant or wont enforce. 99% of people ignore the one way shopping so you’re constantly coming face to face with antimaskers. My advice? Stay away or if you need food, go late at night when there’s less people. They’re open until 10pm now, not 830.

Ordered a drum kit through these guys. Incredible experience. Customer service was absolutely top notch!! The kit was very well packaged, even double boxed. This high end kit was received in perfect condition even though it seemed as if fed-ex used the boxes as fall protection. A testament to the folks at Rainbow’s pride in their jobs. Came in with a broken guitar. Got my questions answered in less than 2 minutes of walking in the door, and I was given the small parts I needed for the fix for free. I decided to buy new strings, and he gave me 20% off because he thought it was too expensive. Hands down the best guitar repair in Tucson and I will always recommend.

They fixed the bridge on my Fender acoustic steel string guitar. Finished a week sooner than promised and did a great job.

Big selection! And Drums….

Emailed through the website asking for suggestions on replacing Fender pickups. No response, so phoned. Was led to believe that expecting the guys in the back to answer an email was a pretty radical concept. Was also led to believe that replacing pickups was an insane idea and that if I didn’t like my guitar I should trade it in, not that they would want to assist with that either. Proof positive yet again that guitar stores only seem to attract males who really want to be left alone. Suits me, shan’t be bothering them again.

Don’t bother with this place. Worst customer service of all. They don’t cater to beginner guitarists nor are willing to help out genuine patrons. Very pushy and ran me out the store when I didn’t immediately buy what they recommended.

I have purchased over $10k of guitars from Rainbow, so I will say the selection is great. The customer service is possibly worse than any guitar center. The employees act like you are bothering them when you inquire about inventory or you feel like they are judging your ability to buy the instrument before helping out. Since they are now only online, you can find the same selection with better pricing elsewhere. PitBull audio out of San Diego has been my new go to. Same instrument selection, better prices and much more friendly staff. Chicago Music Exchange will also be more competitive with better customer service. Interested to see how long Rainbow can stay in business with this business model and a unhelpful/unfriendly staff.

Five stars when the old man ran it downtown and had everything 3 stars since he passed awesome high quality then ok now but comparitively approaching mediocrity in quality and in off brands mediocre quality instruments profitable in margins for them but way too many entry level instruments and equipment still an interesting group of shops but it was a virtual museum of guitar and instrument history when the old man had it with every guitar you could every want from the 50s to the present..sometimes change isnt good keep the old mans business acumen and legacy somewhat intact and its easily 5 stars plus his was the best music store in the world in my book and ive seen many its still good but not crazy awesome like when he had it and one of a kind then but its in extreme danger at this point of going from a one of a kind store with everything vintage and new anyone could ever want from beginner to superstar to just another music store in a sea of music stores from one of a kind unique to just like all the others..some emotional attachment here but keep at least some of the old mans vision for what was once hands down the best music store in the world..still good but not at all the chicago store i once knew and loved

I’ve been a customer of the chacago store for 40 years & I can. Say ” YOU CAN’T BEAT UM”

They told me they only charge for the E string on a single re-string on my bass guitar during a phone call I had with them because i only needed one string to get fixed. Only to get charged about 20$ when I picked up my instrument, 17$ for the re-string labor & 3$ for the string?? i love this store but that did not sat right with me

I hate saying anything negative about a local music shop, especially one who normally does so well with its customers, but I had an experience with their repair shop that is disappointing enough to take my business elsewhere.

I brought in an old trombone for a dent repair on the bell side, which yes they repaired quickly and at a good price.

But in the process they tried to adjust the slide and ended up knocking it so out of alignment it couldn’t slide back into 1st position.

When I pointed it out the tech made an attempt to bend it back to its original shape but unfortunately that only made it worse. after a few weeks in the case like that it ended up stuck shut.

I when I called the shop to look for a solution the tech said it wouldn’t be as simple as bending it back to shape, and instead quoted me a price to redo the slide, which is more than a new trombone would set me back

if I brought in a broken instrument and left with a broken instrument I could just accept it as a lost cause, but the horn played fine when I brought it in and is the only one I have.

I just brought it in for a cosmetic dent repair and I did not ask for the slide to be touched at all.

now I have to find a new repair shop or a new trombone, either way, I am disappointed by the outcome.

This is a terrible store. The guy in charge is sleazy and their service is really bad. We went to a band rental night and this guy started yelling at everyone to come to his table. He really is embarrassing.

I rented a 3/4 tuba from them for the semester, and had an easy time making the rental, and an easier time returning it. The tuba was good, and I enjoyed working with the people there. I would definitely consider renting/buying from here again.

They have it all, drums, pianos, guitars, saxophones. It’s super friendly staff, very chill and helpful. If you get an instrument buy the insurance for it, especially if it’s for a kid. Worth every penny.

Not pleased at all. I called ahead to get instruments repaired and was told it would be two weeks. I drove to drop off instruments and asked if I could have them done a few days sooner. I was told the repair person is taking a vacation and it would be 3 weeks. But, if I wanted to pay double, I could have it done sooner. What a scam! I will never do business with this music store.

Had my violin taken in for string and bridge replacement because of old age. When given back they failed to consult if I wanted the gear pegs back on, nor did they fill my request of a new bridge. When taken to a second opinion they stated that the bridge was ready to collapse and was causing issue to the sound post.

This bad review concerns Maria Ferraz, piano teacher. Our initial meeting seemed positive and I felt comfortable with her with my three year old son. To make sure he was ready to be taught piano, according to her, we set another appointment the following Saturday. This time she wasn’t as nice and patient. I was outside the room while she stayed in the room with my son. To begin, my son is three. He is a very curious boy. This particular day he wasn’t wanting to sit and learn. As I peeled through the window, I saw Maria force his little hand to play the piano. My son resisted and just sat there staring up. She then yells at him, “What are you looking at? What are you looking at?” She turned to see if I was standing there and she just nodded her head. I opened the door and grabbed my son.

I also want to point out that she has a lot of pictures, posters, just stuff in her tiny room enough to distract anyone much more a three year old. Also, if she doesn’t have the patience it takes to teach a three year old, then you shouldn’t advertise that you do. And lastly, you have no right to yell at my son or any child who doesn’t have the ability to fully comprehend what is happening, what you are asking, or able to express his emotions with proper vocabulary to answer your ridiculous questions!

Beware of this woman and always keep an eye on your child when you are not in the room.

Went into the store to buy a few guitar cables, came out with everything I wanted, and more. Employees never talked over me- they treated me like they needed me. I even asked if I could try one of their Strats, because I’ve been dreaming about playing one for a few months; these guys set me up in a studio and let me play a $1500 Amp without even knowing who I was lol. They trusted me not to damage their stuff, and treated me like a god. This place ROCKS.

Great group of knowledgeable and helpful guys. They went out of their way to make sure that I was happy with my purchase. I will continue to go to them for my musical needs. Great place to shop.

Ordered a guitar part like 3 years ago, guy just kept saying “uh… check back next Wednesday”. No honesty or integrity, just a desperate guy whos probably in a lot of debt.

Never received my whammy bar and not even given a credit!!!! Stay away from this mom and mother beisness! Not worthy being called a music shop… They don’t even have bass guitars ☠️ ☠️☠️

This place is awesome! Really nice variety of musical instruments of all kinds. The store is roomy , impeccably clean and staffed by very knowledgeable people. I went there on a Sunday it was almost accidental there were no other guitar stores open on Sunday but they were. I was looking for a new amplifier for my guitar. Not only did I find one I found a really good one I think I played guitar in there for about 4 hours testing out this amplifier. I tried a couple Epiphone Guitars to. Sometimes paying the big bucks for a guitar is worth it. I didn’t have $1,000 to put down on that guitar that I tell you what, that was the slickest guitar I ever played. It almost played itself. Effortless all up and down the neck. But when it’s all said and done the thing that impressed me the most about this store is the quality of the staff that works there. They want to be there and it’s obvious. I don’t know if this is a franchise or not. I do know there are Guitar Centers All Over America but this one has that special Tucson vibe and that happens because of the people. New and used equipment these people will work with you. I really am thrilled to have discovered this place. There’s no question I’ll go back because they also carry a full line of accessories.

The reason I didn’t give 5 stars:
The employees who helped us, while polite and friendly, failed to point out a better more cost effective item after we asked if the solution we had discussed was the best option and cost. We found the better cost option in the store and purchased it instead of the multiple products we would have purchased to solve the same problem.
When I pointed out the item that would solve our problem for the same cost, it just felt as if they didn’t know their inventory or didn’t want us to know about that option for some reason.

It was well organized and I was greeted in entry, but I was not assisted in making an informed decision on which piano stand to purchase. I just grabbed one thinking if it’s not a good choice the clerk will help me, since at most locations they converse with you while you ring out. Nope. Oh well. It’ll

I was trying to purchase a gift for my kid and they only had one drum machine left. I was relieved that it was available but! I had forgotten my guitar center credit card at home and the associate refused to help me. He said it was not possible to look up my information because his computer was out dated. “Would be too much of a headache”. It really upset me because I live 45 away. I called the Marana store the associate was open and willing to help me, even helped me into getting a better model that was on sale. His help and willingness made up for the bigger and better purchase. He was able to locate my account and I was off with an amazing gift. Broadway store has really gone down. Wish the Marana store was the main leader for Tucson. Hats off for their knowledge and wanting to help.

My previous experience was that the portions were very small and it was very expensive. Sandwiches were uninspiring. But recently been getting their salads which were decent.

Where do I start? The service was terrible. The cashier acted as if we inconvenienced her. She only knew how to grunt. The food: broccoli cheddar soup was excellent, as expected. We ordered the turkey avocado BLT sandwich & got a turkey black pepper BLT. No avocado & way too much pepper. The previous evening they had no tomatoes. Multiple Panera Bread restaurants in other states have closed early without indicating. Is this trend indicative of a larger corporate problem? Supply chain management problems, product quality decline & poor customer service, when other establishments have figured out how to navigate restrictive operations.

The food here is very good. And it’s food that you can’t get anywhere else in the area. However, they are extremely rude. Helping you over the phone is a clear and vocal annoyance to them. I’ve been hung up on after a single question because they don’t want to wait for the second question. Their availability of what’s on the menu is a tossup, hence the need for call ahead. There’s no area to pay & pickup if you’ve called ahead. You have to wait in line with everyone else trying to figure out what to order. There are some things they will NOT accommodate, such as tossing the dressing into a to-go salad. They absolutely refuse and will only put dressing on the side.

What a poorly ran Panera. Disorganized and uninspiring staff, plus a Cup of soup, half cuban sandwich and bottle water is apparently worth $14 at this place that’s outrages. What a horrible experience, won’t be returning.
