I take lessons with Hershyl/Mike Edwards. He’s very knowledgeable in a wide range of music topics, very patient, and a great teacher.
Brother has taken lessons here and I’ve bought a guitar as well. Great place to learn and buy musical instruments.
Really cool store, owner is a bro.
Great customer service! But they need a left handed guitar or two for us lefties!!!
All in all was a good experience. Came in to repair a much neglected guitar. Though the initial price was agreed to be under a certain amount, I went with the final amount that was given to me without much debate. The guitar came out great. Also got a keyboard at a great price. My only issue is that one bloated middle aged mummie that happened to be behind the counter, in the mornings. Does he work there? Is he a friend? The owner? Who knows! I say hi and no response? Why the long face??? Everyone else is friendly.

I have taken piano lessons from many people over the years, and Junichi Sato is the finest teacher I’ve had. He is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, professional, helpful, realistic, and has really helped me improve. He and his wife Regina teach everyone from beginners to accomplished pianists. Their studio is set up nicely. There is a waiting room, complete with bathrooms where parents can read, and siblings can quietly play or do homework. The studio has recitals twice a year where you can see the wonderful work that is done here. Definitely check out this studio. I give it my highest recommendation.
Karl makes mouthpieces of top quality. He also will sit with you to make sure that the fit is right for you. There isn’t any reason you’ll need to spend close to $300 on the other brands because Hammond Design is just as good and cost less than half as much!
Karl Hammond was very professional and is knowledgeable of the product line. This made my experience very enjoyable. Thank you Karl with your expertise in helping me pick out the mouthpiece best suit for me.
The best craftsmanship, quality, service and knowledge hands down! Karl is wonderful!

Address: 100 6th Ave, La Grange, IL 60525 , La Grange , Illinois , United States
Service was AMAZING! Such quick service and amazing employees.
Very good. The coffee here has both good flavor AND good aroma. Both are great qualities that that leave McDonald’s coffee where it belongs: in the dust!! When was the last time anybody overheard someone say how much they liked McDonald’s coffee?
A easy to find Starbucks with easy parking and.late hours.
Es costumbre hacer un alto en Starbucks y saborear el café en todas sus manifestaciones, acompañado de un rico Egg and chesse bacon crossan
It’s Starbucks. I enjoyed it. However coffee has a burnt taste. Sorry to say but I’m beginning to enjoy dunkin more.
Place is always super slow because they are alway short staffed and the staff they do have move like sloths, horrible place to order from specially when school lets out l.
Service and coffee wasn’t good at all…
I’m calling in right now this was the worst experience ever !!!! Not having a great day because of the people in this spot !!
6. Owl and Lark
Address: 41 South La Grange Road, La Grange, IL 60525 , La Grange , Illinois , United States
My favorite craft coffee establishment. High quality, creative food menu. You could not ask for more; although it does get crowded on the weekends (which is a testament to how wonderful The Owl actually is).
Coffee and tea are both good. This place was very busy and service was rather slow. We managed to get a seat and hoped to relax a bit. The juicer was so loud and this made to a distracting stay. The baristas should wear hearing protection to avoid hearing loss.
I didn’t try food here. But they have great coffee. The bad side of this place is that it is only a bit small. But that is not a bad thing sometimes.
Great little coffee shop. It can get loud at times and crowded specially in the morning. Little pricey and service slow. Coffee always delicious
I been here multiple times. Prices are high, but food is great HOWEVER today I was craving Icai bowl 11 min before closing. I rush here before they close. I call as Im parking and Allyson answers. I tell her Im parking can you make me a Icai bowl, she tells me we ARE CLOSING in few minutes….Im like ok, so you wont make me a bowl even if your still technically open since it was not 7pm yet and she said NO! Who hires people like this with this nasty attitude? Wont be going back! Went to RED MANGO the girl made me a bowl right away and was all smile
Coffee is great but the 2 girls working there were very rude. They made a mistake and gave me whole milk in my drink instead of oat milk and it really wasn’t a big deal but the way they reacted was as if I was lying. I literally didn’t care about the mistake they made but their reaction after made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I’m a restaurant owner and understood that she may have misheard me when I said oat but her reaction was over the top nasty. Great coffee, poor service
The staff is always so rude. Why did I come back a 2nd time?
7. The Jam Lab
Address: 9234 47th St, Brookfield, IL 60513 , La Grange , Illinois , United States
The pastries are delicious and unlike anything I’ve ever had before. They’re inexpensive and unique, and are great for bringing to parties. The ingredients are listed under each item in the pastry case so you know exactly what you’re getting and can pick and choose whatever looks good (and it all looks good).
S
Burek was sweet
Over-priced!!!
Nice eatery and a variety of good food must visit
Sram vas bilo, prelepili ste datum isteka da se je video rok trajanja koji je istekao u junu jos prosle godine!! Pricam konkretno za noblice
Unfortunately the baked goods quality gets worse and worse… Who ever is the chief baker, needs more attention to the burek and pita, crust layers are thik and hard… shoud be thin, soft on the inside, crisp on the outside… Did not like the mushrooms pita at all today. Burek was the same.
The burek is old and warmed-over.The crust is so hard that you can break your teeth.
HORRABLE BUREK!!!
If I can put 0 stars I would
9. Mattix Music Studio
Address: 4211 Grand Ave 2nd Floor, Western Springs, IL 60558 , La Grange , Illinois , United States
Started music together classes through matrix music studio with my 16mo after she was assessed for speech delays. When I asked what we could do to help her speech in addition to speech therapy the therapists response was music together. She was right. Almost 8 months later and my daughters love for music and communication through music has blossomed. We sing the songs at home at her request and my older kids 4 and 6 love the times they have been able to attend class. Miss Katie is a complete joy and her energy lifts up the mood of everyone in class. My #1 activity for my daughter and our entire family has benefited.
Katie Mattix has made the learning process of how to play the piano SO much fun for my daughter. She even went piano shopping with us to help find the right piano for our family. I highly recommend Mattix Music Studio for a creative way to learn how to play the piano or violin.
My children (5 and 8) are taking lessons here for piano and violin. The teachers (Mr. Matt and Ms. Nissa) are fun and incredibly patient. I really appreciate how they stress proper technique. Lessons were easy to sign up for and they coordinate instrument rental which I found really helpful. I would highly recommend them.
gotta love it when they hang up on you 🙂
10. Organ Service Co Inc
Address: 1210 W 55th Pl, Countryside, IL 60525 , La Grange , Illinois , United States
We are from Oregon looking to find a part my husband thought he needed for his hammond. Thinking he could do it himself. I found this company online. They retuned our call and my husband agreed on a part. They charged us over the phone and sent the part. It was the wrong one. I get it, my husband is not a tech. Miscommunication happens. We called and we were told we could get a refund. Sent it back but it was late getting back to them. We have tried multiple times to reach out to them with no return call and no refund. Update : We finally received a return call after one last a tempt to reach them. UPDATE : One last attempt was made to reach out to The Organ Service Co. We received a return call the next day and are awaiting a refund. PS….. my husband believes in communication and rewarding those who work hard and help him. My husband went out of his way to ask if the man he spoke to likes pizza. He found a local place and had this man’s favorite pizza delivered at our expense. We did not expect the lack of communication we received.
11. 7-Eleven
Address: 6 E 47th St, La Grange, IL 60525 , La Grange , Illinois , United States
always open at 5:15 in the morning not like the one on route 66 in Indian Head Park
Had the best service at a 7-11 ever there Friday night. Forget the kid’s name, but was awesome.
Not a big fan of the employees. Most talk in a foreign language in front of you. One guy is very nice.
I had experience with this
7-Eleven stores the cashier lady and doesn’t want take color money and we bleed the same color and that color its( RED) and learn how treat customers how you want too be treated right and treat everyone equal and will report her seven news report and I come in the stores … I like the old boss used run the stores and he doesn’t looking at color
This is third time the cashier lady keep on doing this …I trying over looks this… That why I want the
world know about this problems ..
problem ….its really sad .For no one worl
Rude dude at the counter, super unnecessary
The manager Ron used to be so kind and hired people that you could talk to. This new guy thats always there is so rude and only gives off negative vibes to people.
12. JAYNE La Grange
Address: 20 W Harris Ave, La Grange, IL 60525 , La Grange , Illinois , United States
The store is lovely. I bought a beautiful purse this morning
Super friendly and helpful staff. Great selection of merch.
I ordered a scarf from here and had it shipped to me in CT. I accidentally selected curbside pickup when placing my order, but the woman on the phone was so nice about my mistake! The scarf actually came earlier than it was supposed to! It’s super cute and very vibrant. I’ll definitely be ordering again!
My wife stopped in here today to check out the sales items. They were offering a 20 percent discount on almost all their stock.
Great selection of Latisse womens shoes
Great great shoes!
Didn’t even acknowledge us walking and and ignored for about 10 mins while we stood there waiting at the counter to purchase an item. Guess the workers were too busy talking amongst themselves to even help coustomers out.
Stop by Jaynes in LaGrange Today, 5/20/2023, they had a few associates but none of them greeted us or acknowledged me or my friend. I saw a few pieces I liked, but because the associates clearly did not want to be bothered, I left the store. These idiots did not even make eye contact, they looked the other way, and carried on in conversations w/ coworkers. While browsing the boutique, I noticed they greeted ‘certain customers’ instead and was more attentive to those customers. I will not return to the La Grange location again. The associates were rude and very ignorant. I’m glad I was able to find another boutique 2 mins away, CLEO’s! I will definitely return to shop at Cleo’s! Much friendlier associates and very welcoming to ALL customers.
13. Jackson Square
Address: 112 E Burlington Ave #1, La Grange, IL 60525 , La Grange , Illinois , United States
Lots of selection and great prices. Not all one style of antiques which is great – rustic stuff, victorian, midcentury, farmhouse – really great curation of vendors. And good prices! I was expecting high prices due to being in a posh Chicago suburb, but vendors are reasonably priced – even found some bargains.
Staff helpful
Visited yesterday for the first time. What a great place! Very fun. So many interesting things. Very friendly staff.
It’s a nice shop. The layout is a little strange which made me wonder if I got through everything.
Nice place.
A treasure trove of collectibles and antiques. Enjoyed seeing and discovering furniture and thousands of items of high value. Reasonably priced for the most and helpful staff.
When my friend and I were in here yesterday afternoon, there were only one or two other customers in the whole place. And we were there to spend. Yet, no one bothered to say Hello, Goodbye or Can I help you. When this store goes out of business (and it looks like they are on their way, judging by the drastically reduced merchandise), they will claim that it is the pandemic’s fault. But maybe, just maybe, it’ll be their’s.
It smelled like old in there
Want to be totally ignored by staff when shopping? This is the place for you then.
A simple hello or welcome is too much to ask for from staff, who literally never once spoke to me, despite my approaching the front desk repeatedly where they were all gathered.
Items are over-priced and most of the vendors lack even minimal imagination or creativity in their layouts. There are too many great antique shops in northern Illinois to be wasting your time at this one.
14. Windy City Music
Address: 5401 9th Ave, Countryside, IL 60525 , La Grange , Illinois , United States
The crew knows their stuff when it comes to live production. Top Notch equipment and service!
Windy City stepped in and helped us out in a big way for our organization’s event! At the last minute, after our previous vendor fell through, Randy from Windy City was willing and able to assist with our audio setup for our keynote presentation. He was professional and courteous, and the project quote was competitive and reasonable. Once setup it was the best sounding presentation we’ve had in years. Thank you Windy City Music! I would highly recommend!
Everything you need for your concert or party$

Pleasant staff, fast service & order has always been accurate.
Clean restrooms
if u dont like the mcdonalds in la grange then go some where like wendys or burger king u all people get angry about it so ya good day
Good time it was really busy it took less than 10 minutes
Ok
As expected
I should not be spoken to like a child by the cashier at the first window at this location because she got my order wrong and she also should not try to make me pay for something I did not order and continue to try to convince me that it’s a close enough order. I cannot believe someone would speak to me like I was a child that did something wrong because she was rushing and messed up .very unprofessional
This is the worst McDonald’s ever. I give it negative stars. However, it will not let me post the review unless i at least give it one star. Rest assured this McDonalds is NEGATIVE Stars. Just left the drive thru. I ordered two happy meals for my boys. One chicken nugget happy meal and one PLAIN hamburger happy meal. We get home, my son opens the hamburger and there is NO MEAT in-between the hamburger buns. Basically paid for a hamburger bun, ketchup, onions, mustard and pickles. What a disgrace. I will NEVER frequent that McDonalds again. What a disgrace of a restaurant.
A worker by the name of Anthony spat in my sprite and laughed at me when I confronted him yesterday at 7
18. Kagan and Gaines Music Co., Inc
Address: 7655 Roosevelt Rd, Forest Park, IL 60130 , La Grange , Illinois , United States
We called Kagan and Gaines when we needed a drum set for one of our children who wanted to be able to continue drum lessons online. The customer service was fantastic, and Kagan and Gaines was able to deliver a drum set to us within a few hours! Our son LOVES the new drum set. Thank you, Kagan and Gaines!
Very clean an friendly
If you are looking to buy a string instrument, you should absolutely buy it here. Unmatched service and maintenance at a good price. Best experience I’ve ever had buying a cello.
Nice and helpful staff, but they require you to give them your phone number to make a purchase. No thanks. Took my business elsewhere.
Really great staff, knowledgable and well stocked.
Unfortunately I won’t be able to justify shopping there any longer for my business because their three day return policy and extremely limited store hours make it difficult to get back over there within the period.
(I’m unwilling to pay a 20% restocking fee for unopened cables)
Hate to say it because I wish my business was going to an independent store rather than the corporate or online big boxes.
45 dollars for an on the spot (30 min) electric guitar restring, minus the price for the strings, is a little steep, folks. I appreciate the good work, but I can get the same treatment for a lot less at A Sound Education off Ogden.
I hate to agree with the user below who complained of a dishonest experience, but we are going through the same. I’ve read all of the other 5 star reviews and notice a pattern: it seems that for violin and stringed instruments, this is a great place. For renting brass/woodwind instruments via their monopoly with the school districts, they are subpar and dishonest. We should have just purchase a used instrument which would have resulted in us obtaining a superior instrument at, I am not exaggerating, 1/4 the total cost. We just had to call them to stop processing our credit card when we noticed we had been paying an abnormally long time on my daughter’s VERY USED, VERY DENTED saxophone (4 years!). We were “reassured” that, coincidentally, they were just going to call us as well as our payments happened to be completed. Yet they have no records of all the payments that we made, and are asking us to provide payment records going back to 2017 to “prove” how much we have paid in total. Luckily for us, we can easily provide them as they have all been made on the same credit card for years. We are also disputing the amount owed as our daughter’s original “nicer” model saxophone broke, was taken in for repairs, and she was given a loaner, student-model, older and dented sax. Her other one was never repaired and instead she’s just had this one forever. We were told at the time it would be “worked out.” Now they want us to pay the same amount as they were going to charge for the initial instrument to keep this replacement instrument permanently, as they also claim to have NO record that any switch was ever made or that the original saxophone was ever brought in for repairs. Typically, I endeavor to support neighborhood shops, but not when their record keeping is straight out of Mayberry. This is taking a lot of our time and energy to sort out, and we’ve ultimately laid out over $2300 to own an instrument that I have found at multiple music stores online for around $600 and under. We understand that renting the own is typically more expensive, but this feels like being swindled in every way. Extremely disappointed. My husband has been playing music for over 40 years – he also used to play saxophone – and his mother is a professional classical musician. He is used to dealing with all sorts of music shops and has never had an experience like this one.
19. Bottle & Bottega by Painting with a Twist
Address: 1 W Harris Ave, La Grange, IL 60525 , La Grange , Illinois , United States
So much fun!!!! Great for as well ! It was a great spring break activity to enjoy time as fam/ friends. I’ll be back!!
Meg and the team at Bottle and Bottega were fantastic!! They were encouraging and helpful. More importantly they taught me to fix things I didn’t like in my painting!!! Best of all -No judgments, just fun!!! I highly recommend hosting or attending a party!!
Awesome and fun atmosphere. Great instructors. Highly recommend
Had a great time painting with friends and sipping wine! The painting instructors were very helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely a recommended event.
Usually love this place. Absolutely love the owner. She’s awesome. Her staff pretty much too. The person helping the girls out this past Saturday not so much. She wasn’t kid friendly. Needs to be more patient. Made the kids rush and enjoy the party less because of her comments. Needs to work on that. Doesn’t fit in with the rest of the staff or the owner, in my opinion.
Nice place
20. Tobias Music
Address: 5013 Fairview Ave, Downers Grove, IL 60515 , La Grange , Illinois , United States
Great local store with friendly, knowledgeable staff. A nice alternative to the cold shoulder, wish you weren’t here feel I always get at the national guitar chain.
Classy place
Can’t say enough about this place. White-glove service, very friendly and knowledgeable, everything they have is top-of-the-line.
I recently purchased an Eastman 335 style electric here and it blows away any actual 335 I’ve ever played 1. because it’s well made and 2. because the setup done in-house is immaculate. They threw in a humidifier and all.
All around the best customer experience at any guitar shop I’ve ever been to.
***EDIT***
So, I am knocking down my review from five stars to three; due to my most recent experience a couple months after the first one. So I reached backout to buy another guitar (place order) as I really wanted an AD22e or another model I can’t remember, but after confirming they could place the order I let them know that I wanted the AD22e and to provide me the full price so we could close the deal and they went silent, mind you I didn’t even get a copy of the receipt from my AD27e that never came which I had also requested from the last conversation.
I did finally get my guitar ordered but I had a national retailer place the order. I was disappointed I didn’t hear back from Tobias Music about completing the purchase and obtaining a copy of the receipt for my AD27e that never came.
** original **
Just bought an AD27e (Taylor) from them after finding it for sale online. it was a great buying experience. I’m a lefty, buying guitars online is the norm, and most of the time guitars I buy take a day or two to pack and ship. we had a few emails back and forth and they were quick to respond and very professional. These guys had it packed and shipped the same day, and I didn’t place my order until after lunch; that’s service.
They also took the time to dial the guitar in; it came with the action set and was tuned ready to play out of the box. Paul did a great job and really made this buying experience easy, and hassle free. I’ll have to check back often to see what other lefty guitar they get in. If I have the chance, I will buy from them again.
They are more of a acoustic guitar place not really a place for bass players .
