Great service, awesome variety, smooth and easy, in and out
many kind of guiters!
Great selection. Very large inventory.
It’s a Guitar Center. Not much to say. No one talks to you unless you purposely find someone to deal with. The guy that I talked with was pleasant and informative. Prices were the same as everywhere. No big surprises in anything. It’s a loud and chaotic environment. If you don’t like that or can’t handle that… Just don’t go. They do have online ordering with curbside pickup.
It is a Sunday and I urgently need a G-String for my full size violin. The usual music store I go to is closed. Problem? They didn’t sell strings separately and the price was VERY ridiculous. On top of that, to have them install the string for me, costed $35 dollars more! My regular music store replaces strings as a common courtesy, but at least I got my string so my music teacher can repair it for me tomorrow.
Sold me a product that was incomplete and were unable and unwilling to rectify the situation. Complete waste of time. Manager was unfriendly and incompetent.
Worst guitar center ever ! No respect for customers !
Came here to rent a clarinet for my 6th grader, it was quick and easy. The gentleman who helped me was very friendly and helpful. When it came time to return it, a different gentleman helped and he was also friendly. That process was also quick and easy! I’d definitely come back when the time comes.
Had a great experience at the Music and Arts store. Had exactly what we needed for my son’s instrument.
Good selection, very fair pricing, great flexibility and spectacular service. When everyone else wanted a three month overpriced minimum to rent a saxophone for a weekend special for our church’s Christmas service, these guys gave me a fair price for a month. They listened to my need and worked with me. I will send fellow musicians and business their way and I myself will go to them for my music needs. Shelton and staff, well done.
The good reviews here do not fall in line with my experience at all. And they sell instruments yet have no basic knowledge about them at all. Completely unhelpful
I really want to give y’all a good rating, but I don’t understand how I can provide formal approval for my flute’s repairs, and then proceed to have to approve two more times over two more months because someone, somewhere keeps not actually putting the paperwork through? I expected a timesink since repairs take a while, but to have had my flute sitting WAITING for said lengthy repairs for more than two (three by now?) months despite me approving it three! separate! times! because someone just didn’t click a button is extremely disappointing!!!!
Do not rent your music instrument here, it’s a nightmare.
My son Greyson has always wanted to learn the piano. Unfortunately he was nervous in the big classroom setting. Marsha Tanny’s 1 on 1 instructions has allowed my son to read music and play the piano. I recommend Marsha 100%

Amazing service and customer support! Bought Pulsar-23 and couldn’t be more happy with the price and delivery time. Will definitely shop again. Thank you!
Rob was so helpful! I ordered a brand new Larrivee through him and I was amazed by his willingness to go out of his way to help me get my guitar. He drove from SoCal to the Larrivee warehouse to get my pickup installed and then hand delivered it to where it was most convenient for me. Very quick to respond to all of my emails, texts, and calls. Super impressed with the service here and I have and will continue to refer people to him!
Amazing Service ! Very happy with the prices and excellent selection! A+++
Nice guitar for sale, i would have bought it until they said $165 for shipping. NO ONE charges that much to ship a guitar, and i could have sent it to them for about $45 . The “owner” talked to me on the phone as if i were an eighth grader. The guitar was overpriced as well.

Great staff. I was just in town and I needed some last minute practice time for a show. They said no problem, come on in. Truly a musician’s friend.
Asked question via text and got a response almost immediate. Super friendly and helpful. Thanks!
Horn improvement is a trip
They were extremely helpful and kind. We are all set up with a fitted violin for music class.
Not happy about when they said summer months free once paid in full … Ladies and gents not true at all. Was charged months of July and August, not happy about it. Not true to their words.
They need better quility instrimunts
Bad store. Employee claimed “2 months” for a repair. But there’s a catch. First they take 5 days to perform an estimate.
I thought this was a music repair shop?
Total waste of time, don’t even bother driving here.
Michael installed some Lollar PUP’s and a 3rd wire/ 4-way switch. Royal T Neck, Special T Bridge. The guitar is now in a different universe of sound and tone possibilities.
Great job thank you
Michael did an excellent job setting up my Taylor as well as hand filing a bone nut for me so that it was perfect. He was very helpful and really easy to communicate with which compared to dealing with guitar-center-like places was a breath of fresh air. Also worth noting it’s a single man operation as of this review so you don’t have to worry about your guitar getting passed on to lesser experienced hands. I highly recommend using FM Guitar Repairs for all you guitar needs.
Django Guitars is the only place I purchase my Gypsy guitars and gear from. Tommy is incredibly knowledgeable and patient and doesn’t hesitate to answer any questions. I also think he makes the best picks and bridges you can find, along with his restoration work.
Tommy Davy at DjangoGuitars not only fit me with a great guitar but enriched the whole experience with his communication and customer service. As a first time buyer I was blown away by the time he invested answering my questions I have great sounding TDB and Django Guitars has a customer for life. Thanks Tommy
Tommy Davy from DjangoGuitars has some of the best customer service skills I’ve have ever witnessed. He answered my questions over phone and email and was so knowledgeable about how to improve the sound of my guitar. He wasn’t trying to sell me anything, but was genuinely wanting to help. He modified the bridge which helped the resonance of my guitar substantially. My next gypsy jazz guitar purchase will definitely be from DjangoGuitars!
16. Guitar Shoppe
Address: 1027 N Coast Hwy # B, Laguna Beach, CA 92651 , Laguna Woods , California , United States
The best. Guitar Shoppe is the ONLY place I go for purchase, repair, maintenance of my guitars. They are homeowned. Mostly I see Sean Copeland for my needs but, everyone there is helpful. I have complete confidence in them. If you’re looking for a new instrument or maybe fix up an old one, look no further. They also offer lessons from talented and experienced instructors.
Love this place. Everyone is super helpful and friendly
Went in to play a Martin. The price tag looked like $599.00. So I made an offer. Guy behind the counter said it was $999.00. So I offered $800.00 out the door. Guy behind the counter goes into this monolog on how difficult it is to find these guitars and such. I say, “I’m finding it hard to feel sorry for you”. Guy behind the counter tells me to get out of his store. He actually kicked me out.
Been going there for as long as I can remember. I put the guitar down and said, “it’s a nice guitar” and walked out.
My wife is a physician. I told her about the story. Next thing I know, there’s a $6k 1968 Martin sitting in our bedroom. She got online and purchased this beautiful guitar for me because she loves me and felt bad I went thru that. Love that woman!
Would have liked to support our local businesses. Buy hey, if they don’t want it, we won’t give it.
Good luck to the Laguna Guitar Shoppe. I always liked you guys.

Post Script:
Welp, everyone deserves a 2nd chance; except my sister.
The old case for my 68 carved two intentions on the neck while on a trip to AZ. I know for a fact the Laguna Beach Guitar Shoppe is the best in the world at repairing guitars. And I don’t say that lightly. Prior to getting kicked out of the Shoppe, they had been repairing and servicing my guitars for 30 years. So I went back asking them to repair my 68 Martin.
They were happy to have me back and vice versa.
Incredible repair job. I cannot even see where the damage was. Looks good as new.
Glad to be back. You guys are the best! Good thing I didn’t haggle on the price of repair this time…
Here’s a pic of my wife as an alumni cheerleader back on the field for UCLA. Now she just cheers me on…

Mark is the Bomb… He is The Guitar Mang!
If it had a little more available customer service, it would be one of the great guitar stores in SoCal. Awesome acoustic selection though. From VERY high end to boutique to working class Taylor and Martin, Guild and Gibson. But also offer well made economy minded guitars that sound great but won’t take your first born as down payment. Very good electric department as well.
If you’re looking for even half decent customer service, you’re better off looking elsewhere. Extremely rude, no consideration whatsoever for the customer. Will never come back again.
Not that appealing
Don’t go here for setup. Seems they don’t really care, or maybe just really don’t know or have the skill level needed. But I cannot see that seeing that Kirk has what 50 years’ experience. So, I say his heart is not into it anymore and he just does not care. I took one high-end archtop there to get setup and they did a downright lousy job after making me wait nearly 3 months to complete the work. Fret ends needed a lot of work, and I told them it was one of the most important items in the setup that needed addressing. Came back a hair better than it was before but fret ends still sliced my skin and there were gaps under most the fret ends. Took it to 13th Street Guitars and they were able to do the fret ends beautifully and do a PLEK setup. Now it plays great. Go to 13th Street in Huntington instead for any serious setup, you will be happy not sad. I’ve been buying product from the Guitar Shoppe for 30 years but will never take another guitar into them for setup or fret work.
