Michael played guitar, bagpipes. and DJ’d during the reception. We allowed our wedding guests to request songs on our RSVP’s and Michael did an amazing job of compiling our requests together. Our friends and family had a blast dancing the night away. Michael helped keep the party going throughout the night and helped us stay organized and on schedule all night! Can’t thank you enough for such a wonderful and entertaining evening!
Michael did our wedding back in October, and was fantastic!! He was there for the walkthrough, on time for the ceremony, and very quick to reply via email. Most importantly, he played beautifully and brought tears to everyone’s eyes as the bride was coming down. I highly recommend him for your event!
We hired Michael for a funeral for one of our treasured members of our church.
He was very easy to work with. He played the music that we requested incredibly well.
Everyone was very pleased with him and his abilities.
He was prompt, courteous and very talented. His kilt and complete attire was appreciated by everyone.
He is very affordable and Gigmasters was easy to work with. We communicated several times before the funeral and there wasn’t a single problem.
All in all, a wonderful experience.
I was so hurt by this DJ. The communication was poor. It will forever be a sore spot for my special day, he was very disappointing.
The bagpiping was a nice addition, many guests enjoyed it. Our sincere thanks to him for standing in the very cold weather in his kilt.
As far as the playlist, my fault for not pushing back more when he kept saying everything looked great without any questions. It was confusing because he initially said we should build the playlist ourselves if we wanted to specify all the songs for the evening. He then said that wasn’t necessary, but the playlist that we spent hours compiling wasn’t played. We would have been receptive to more of an open dialogue on what he thought would work best. Instead it felt like he disregarded what we asked for and just played a bulk of song that he felt like playing.
We had made a list of songs for dinner time that we loved and he played other songs, including songs I hated. What was wrong with what we requested?? During the reception he showed that he had built what appeared to be our whole requested playlist. What doesn’t make sense is why he played so little of it and why he didn’t communicate with us more if he wasn’t going to play more of it.Were we supposed to go up and request songs that we did want to hear one by one?
Our guests did enjoy dancing to what he played. However, if for example he felt that a lot of our songs were not going to be crowdpleasers, then I really really wish we would have had more of a conversation about it and discussed it more. It would have been nicer to build a list that he thought was a crowd pleaser, that we would have also had to buy in on.

Been buying guitars and ukelele here for 8 years . Can’t ask for more from these guys locally. They do everything they can for us .
Got a Luna Uke for my wife, very happy with the purchase and she loves it!
Great owner. So friendly, a wide selection of vinyl fairly priced..
Tons of awesome used CDs and vinyl.
He does great guitar work and setups! Great prices for service and some used gear. The best music store in evergreen for sure. Nice guy, helpful, knowledgable, great guitar tech, and they have a decent selection of used and new gear. Worth a stop in! I take all my guitars to him and he does as good or better than anybody in Denver for a better price.
I have purchased a few guitars from here.I love thats it is community owned, the owner works the counter most days, he is a good guy who lives to share his passion of music
Also has a great record selection for sale!

Love that they have home made fudge and snacks. Very friendly staff enjoy stopping here.
You guys rock!!! Love the fudge 🙂
Fantastic lil stop along our Colorado journey! Loved the baked goods and the rustic atmosphere!
Very clean and pleasant
Cute nostalgic place to stop for a quick snack or drink! Love the candy shop! Free chocolate oreo if you post a review!!!
FUDGE! Best variety of great tasting fudge Carmel praline, root beer flavored, don’t pass up the chocolate bacon! Friendly folks with last minute bathroom or gas for those leaving, or just getting to Denver.
No thanks big time, on all fronts .
I had a horrible experience here. One of the employees was horribly rude to me and my children. I’m right months pregnant and had my two children with me. When I went to check out a woman with blonde hair said with an attitude can you have them put back that truck. When my daughter went to put it away she pretended it was driving and she yelled at her that she was making it dirty. We had just done a hike at a nearby trail so I was exhausted and quickly left because I dont like confrontation. I will never go in there again.
This place needs to be closed down, I am a NYC realtor, and a Muslim father. I went to this place and was treated badly. I can see the lady at the cash register does not like colored skin people. Me as an Indian and Muslim was not allowed to touch any gifts, souvenirs which I like to purchase for my son and on the other side locals were allowed to touch, feel and play with those toys.
WE NEED TO STOP SHOPPING AT THAT PLACE WHO DISCRIMINATE OTHER COLORED SKIN PEOPLE.

I have been a student of James for 7 years, and I couldn’t be happier with what has occurred over the past years. I have learned how to play piano, guitar, ukulele, and many more and it has been a large part of my life.
7. Christies of Genesee Wedding and Event Venue
Address: 25918 Genesee Trail Rd #140, Golden, CO 80401 , Genesee , Colorado , United States
We had a great wedding here! All the staff worked hard to make it stress free for us during the event and make sure the guests had a good time. The venue was relatively easy to get to from DIA for our guests and had great views in the light and at night time.
Great place & Great staff!!!!
Our wedding was perfect. From the moment we walked up to Kerri on the open house day, we knew they had a lot of weddings under their belt. They were so kind and helpful throughout the entire process and answered calls, emails and frantic text messages in a timely manner. We initially chose this venue because they handle the food, bar and have a music playlist available and can play what songs you want, when you want. We both work full time so this was a major time saver. They offer food tastings and the food was really good!
I must give a special shout out to the day of manager, Claudia. She guided us by the hand every step of the way, placing us where we needed to be to keep the day running smoothly but in a gentle way to make it relaxing.
Their pricing is very affordable we think, especially for being all inclusive. The venue is beautiful and there are several great spots for photos and enough space for guests to roam but still be intimate.
We love love love Christie’s at Genesee and highly recommend it to anyone looking to get married or looking for a great venue.
My daughter held her wedding here. The venue was beautiful, staff very helpful and friendly, the day was well organized. Unfortunately no one could hear the wedding ceremony or vows because the sound system was so poor – one speaker behind the audience sticking out of the doorway, and we were four rows in front of it. I was very disappointed that I did not hear my daughter’s vows or very much of the rest of the ceremony either. I expected more from a venue that does this every day
Beautiful place to officiate a wedding. Staff is very helpful and courteous. View at night is spectacular
Beautiful location, great hosts for wedding. Food was good. Music on bar laptop was plentifull.
I went to a family member’s wedding here just this summer, and I’ve got to admit, I wasn’t impressed. The place wouldn’t have been QUITE as bad if you didn’t have to show up and realize the place is in a strip mall! Seriously. It shares a wall with a dry cleaner or insurance office or something like that, so the appeal is lost before you even walk in the door.
The decor inside is really dated. We’re talking floral wallpaper boarders around the ceiling, flowery curtains, wood paneling, and old carpet. Pair that with an outdoor ceremony patio that, although nice, overlooks the traffic on beautiful Interstate-70, and that’s Christie’s of Genesee.
That aside, the staff was nice from my experience, and they stayed out of the spotlight, which was good.
8. TR Music & Voice Lessons
Address: 26174 Seitz Rd, Kittredge, CO 80457 , Genesee , Colorado , United States
I’ve been taking guitar lessons, and it’s been a game-changer for my musical journey. The instructor is knowledgeable, patient, and has a talent for explaining complex techniques. I highly recommend these lessons to anyone looking to improve their guitar skills.
Our daughter, Isabella, has been taking piano lessons with TR Music and her instructor, Lily, for a few months now, and we’re so impressed by how much she’s learned in such a short amount of time. Lily is such a patient and kind teacher, and she’s really helped Isabella develop her skills and her confidence.
Wonderful experience. We were visiting Colorado Springs on vacation for several weeks and the manager allowed my daughter to use there studio lesson rooms to keep up with her lessons! They were so great and accommodating!
my daughter has been having guitar lessons here for 3 months. she was a total beginner but has learnt loads and we’re happy with her progress. They are really flexible with lessons, and where able to give face time lessons
9. HM Musical Instrument Repair

Great place. It’s safe to say it’s a small museum. Thanks, because it brings tourists closer to the history of this area. I am very pleased with my visit here.
Very cool place. The guy that cashed us out was very rude
Cool place to visit! View is amazing.
Very nice place showing the history of Red Rocks and musical acts who have visited over the years. What was done is done very well, but I wish there was more as it doesn’t touch upon enough of the rich history that has passed here.
11. Evergreen School of Music
Address: 4005 Evergreen Pkwy, Evergreen, CO 80439 , Genesee , Colorado , United States
As an adult, I have been taking piano lessons from Jonny Sterling at Evergreen School of Music for about 4 years. This has been a wonderful experience and I have enjoyed it very much. Jonny is a terrific teacher and I am very happy with my progress.
Amazing Music school. Bob is a great guitar teacher and I cant recommend this music school enough.
Rachel is a very professional teacher who wants the best for her students! She is creative in finding ways to keep things fun and exciting for students. You definitely want to check out this school!
12. Golden Music
Address: 10395 W Colfax Ave, Lakewood, CO 80215 , Genesee , Colorado , United States
The best darn music store in the state. Fabulous customer service.
Love love love this store, what a wonderful feast for the eyes, such a vast variety of instruments arranged artistically into beautiful displays throughout the whole place! The people are so nice and knowledgeable, it is always a joy to spend time looking around the store and learning from the experts, and there is something for everyone from children to adults, from beginners on a budget to discerning collectors. Go check it out, you will be glad you did!
Love the selection, employees, and rental/rent-to-own program. They have a great maintenence plan included in the rental price, that really covers you or your child from breakage, and having to drive, or lose time waiting on a repair! They will give you a loner so you never have to stop practicing. Being Colorado Family Owned and Operated gives them a special place in my book.
Took my brand new tenor sax in for an inspection are the end of May 2020 to make sure everything was in good working order from the factory. They told me it would be about a week. 2 weeks later I called to check the status and was told they had to quarantine all horns before working on them. That makes sense during covid craziness but they shouldn’t have lied to me when I took it in.
Two weeks after that, I called again to check the status. Apparently the day after I called the first time they “cleaned it and checked every key” but when they called to tell me I had the audacity to not answer the phone. They didn’t leave a voice message or ever try to call back. When I told them I was pissed about that they tried to blame it on covid! Because apparently the virus changed the way PHONES WORK!
I had decided that I wasn’t going to leave a bad review because I know how hard it can be as a small business owner myself. Then I tried to play my horn. The spring on one of the palm keys was completely out of place. It’s a 30-second fix but I JUST PAID $100 to avoid this exact problem. So basically I paid $100 to have my factory new sax that didn’t need cleaning cleaned and to have someone claim to check it and miss one of the simplest problems a sax can have. In other words they didn’t do crap, took a month to not do crap, and charged me $100 for crap. Even leaving a voice message was too much effort.
I rarely say “I’ll never be back” to a business because we’re all human and mistakes happen but this was over the top. I honestly don’t think they actually did anything and charged me for it.
On a positive note, their prices for accessories are pretty decent.
Update: After leaving a bad review the store did contact me and offer to make it right. I have to give them credit for that. So I upped my rating based on their willingness to do that.
They have lots of instruments but seemed pricey to me. I’d probably try here if I needed repairs though. They have a robust workshop on site, but I thankfully haven’t needed to make use of it yet.
Great selection but not the best music store in Denver area.
charged 25$ for a damaged shoulder rest that costs 7$ online…
Keep a close eye on your account! Three months after receiving an invoice that I fully paid for my instrument they took money out of my account. After calling three times they replied that they messed up but would not honor their invoice. Stay away from them. They are not worth your time or money.
Do not rent from this place! I have read other reviews and it seems I am not alone when it comes to getting ripped off by them in their so-called accounting practices. When called out on his misleading tactics, Alex the owner childishly threw a fit and told me to get out of the store. If even one person reads this and rents their instrument from another store – I will feel good knowing I have saved them from the nightmare I went through renting from Golden Music.

At 56 years old I had never played an instrument before deciding to take up guitar. Over the last 3 years Dean has been very supportive and enthusiastic in helping me learn and progress with my playing. I can see that he tailors the lessons to the individual interests of each student. A year ago I decided to record a song for my daughters wedding. Dean helped me produce the song in addition to Kirk helping me with voice lessons over a few months for my recording. It turned out better that I could have imagined and was a great moment for our family. Colorado School of Music is a great family friendly place to learn how to play for all levels and ages.
My children have had lessons here for years. They are great! My son plays guitar, and did play piano, and my daughter plays violin. They consistently provide high-quality, fun lessons.
Our son has taken lessons at CO School of Music in Golden for a few years. He started with the Ukulele and then moved to guitar. He enjoys the lessons, and Dean , one of the instructors is great with him. I would highly recommend.

Open! Clean and friendly, with knowledgeable staff.
Excellent staff! Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful when I went in looking for a clarinet! Reasonable prices! Thanks for the help!
The people employees are professional, knowledgeable, and ready to help!
As with any store like this, you can expect them to be salesmen, though they don’t push too hard and don’t avoid helping you find the lowest priced items.
The technicians are great, but I wish they had a bit more enthusiasm.
If you are testing out brass instruments or such, the practice room they put me in had too much reverb to get accurate samples, even with a recording device. I have yet to ask if they had a more acoustically dry room.
They can order sheet music and products, and have all the basics and many accessories for band musicians.
There’s parking at the new location. Really reasonably priced supplies. Not the best selection for buying instruments though. Since their relocation, seems they’re putting more emphasis on instrument repair. Still probably the best music supply shop in the area
Like always the services people were just great.
Just terrible experience! Purchased a new wood clarinet 5 months ago. Found out it was cracking, unfortunately happens if not taken care of, but not in the first 5 months.
Took 2+ months to fix, when we finally picked it up, some old guy in the store started telling my 16 year old daughter about keeping it greased every six months- lecturing her because it was so dried out! Finally stepped in and told him…we bought it here less than 5 months ago…in other words, you sold an old dried out clarinet for $2000.00. Will never ever step foot in this store again d/t the service dept.
Went in to check out acoustic guitars earlier today. Got an important call as I was about to tune a guitar I was checking out and the guy behind the counter just starts blowing into some sort of wind instrument seemingly deliberately because taking a quick phone call. So I hung up the guitar and just walked out.
But the guy who welcomed me when I walked in seemed nice.
Peneplain played at our wedding and were great! Jerry was very professional from the beginning, describing the different styles and instrument options upfront. The band was fantastic on the day of, providing just the right moods for our cocktails and dinner. I’d highly recommend this group for anyone in the Denver area.
The guys at Peneplain Jazz are amazing. They played at my husband and my 20th wedding anniversary last night in Boulder, and we could not have been more thrilled with their performance. The music was the perfect style for our event, and the musicians calibrated the sound level perfectly, adjusting when necessary to accommodate the noise level in the room and allow for conversation. Also, Jerry was a pleasure to work with — he was very professional and responsive to my questions leading up to the event. I highly recommend Peneplain Jazz for any party where you want to enliven the atmosphere and make the evening special!
I can’t say enough about how exceptionally professional and talented these men are. My husband and I dreamt of having live jazz music at our wedding, and we were not disappointed! Jerry and I communicated entirely by email and he was so prompt and thorough throughout the process. He quickly responded to my questions, accommodated a few requests, and communicated very well. I never worried about anything and knew that we were in great hands. I had the opportunity to meet the band before the ceremony and they were truly wonderful! Throughout our wedding, many of our guests told us that they were so impressed by the exceptional music and were thrilled to have a chance to enjoy and dance to such excellent live jazz! They all have such remarkable gifts and we feel so honored to have had them at our wedding! Thank you, thank you Jerry!
Joshua is a great teacher, he has been very catering to my individual goals on the piano. I’ve been doing online lessons with him for over a month now and he I’m always excited for what he’s gonna bring to the session. I strongly recommend him.
Our daughter loves working with Joshua. She has grown musically and enjoys her lessons with him. I highly recommend Joshua as a teacher.
Quality coach, with practical experience. I’ve seen real progress in a short time. His explanations are very clear and helpful, and he’s also patience and funny. Highly recommended.
