Really nice location. Machines are in really good shape. Super friendly service
My wife and I just returned from a weekend in Lake City, CO where we rented a Polaris Razer 900 from Lake City Motorsports. We reserved the UTV a couple of weeks in advance and when we arrived we had a brand new 2016 unit to ride. The folks that run the place were very friendly, polite and helpful. They gave us a map to the surrounding area, a GPS unit in case we got in trouble and helmets to wear. We had an awesome time! I will be returning and will definately rent from Lake City Motorsports again. I can’t wait to get back and explore those mountains again.
$45 to get a flat fixed for our side-by-side and was told it would take to days!! Nevermind we fixed it ourselves..
Decent gas prices, needs more road trip friendly items inside
Brought my Buick Skylark in after it took a clip out up the river. The kind folk here told me the tri-axel may have been damaged, they recommended I leave the car over night. The next morning they found the radiator had been wasted and that I also needed some malleable logarithmic casings on my cars pentametric fan. The whole thing blew my vacation money but at least they fixed my problem!
Overall bad experience and horrible customer service.
I reserved a side by side from Lake City Auto & Sports Center two months in advance. When I showed up with my two kids at 8am to pick up our rental we were told to wait outside for 15 minutes as the one person working that day (Saturday) opened the store. Once we were let inside, it took over an hour to get our rental.
Approximately 10 miles into our journey the gas gauge on our rental indicated that we had gone through half of a tank. 20 miles into our trip around the Alpine Loop the gauge showed we had 1/4 of gas left, so we turned around and headed back to the shop. As we approached the shop the low fuel light started to flash. Our planned full day trip (8am-5pm) turned into a stressful half day trip (9:15am-1pm).
We explained the situation to the 2 people working at the shop (mechanic and front desk worker) and were told to come back at 5:45pm to talk to the owners, who were “out in the mountains”. This was not convenient for us, so I asked if we could come back the next day.
Next Day – I spoke with the owner in the shop and expressed my concerns and complaints. I was told that morning delays are normal and that if I wanted to apply for a job there I could. I was told that the gas gauge was not accurate and I could email the manufacturer if I had a complaint. Finally, I was aggressively told that under no circumstances should I expect additional discounts or a refund.
Overall we had a horrible $500 experience with Lake City Auto & Sports Center.
Luckily, in the past few years a few other companies have popped up in Lake City that also rent side by side UTVs. We will not be doing business here again.
Do not rent a jeep from here!!!! Scammers! Will try to say don’t worry about small scuffs when renting here, only to charge you insane amount when you return Jeep. The jeep that was rented never touched anything but air, only to be charged when returned for scuffs already there. They use this as an extra profit center at your expense. The staff is extremely rude and this place should be avoided at all costs!!!
These people are the most rude and inconsiderate business owners you’ll ever meet. The only reason they are in business is because they are the only power sports dealer in town. If anyone else ever opens a competing business in town, they will close within days and they deserve it.
2. Sportsman’s BBQ Station
Address: 173 S Gunnison Ave, Lake City, CO 81235 , Lake City , Colorado , United States
First time every going there and I can’t complain.. friendly employee, great BBQ and they have a little bit of everything for being a small place… We got the brisket and pork sandwiches, they were very delicious, good price and reminds me a little bit of Texas BBQ.. who ever smoking the meats, keep it up.. good timing on them
Some of the best Texas food in all of Colorado.
They have gas and are friendly to OHVs.
Enjoyed an evening of reminiscing over John Denver music. Longed for mosquito spray, though.
They have gas. Store was closed.
Fast self serve. Expensive but not unexpected.
Very expensive for what you get. The two of us had a chopped beef sandwich and onion rings with drinks and it was 43 dollars. Food was o.k.
NOT 24 HOURS
Food was alright. Customer service was horrible. Owner was extremely rude.
3. B’s Cabins & Mini-Mart
Address: 231 Gunnison Ave, Lake City, CO 81235 , Lake City , Colorado , United States
Cool little mountain store and gas station as you come off Engineer pass into Lake City
Super cool
Scott and Tina run a really nice operation here. You can get ice cream at their mini mart among other treats and rent a cabin as well. They are rustic cabins to be sure, but they are in middle of the Rocky Mountains! Cell service anywhere in town is almost non-existent so be prepared to unplug, which is its own blessing. Lake city is gorgeous and surrounded by a multitude of recreational opportunities!
Great little convenience store. Carries most common items at decent price. Has 91 octane gas and free 120 psi air hose on the side which I found helpful to air up tires after hitting the Alpine Loop. Staff was always friendly and very helpful during our 2 week stay.
Friendly, small gas station, has limited snacks, and drinks.
Made a gas stop to top off before heading towards Engineering Pass. Friendly service and they carry just enough common items.
The cabins have not aged well. Every interior and exterior surface is covered with chipped and peeling paint. The staff is bitter and inflexible…who could blame them with these working conditions? Every piece of caulk in the bathroom is moldy and needs replacement. Carpet in the bathroom makes me want to vomit thinking of all the urine and foot fungus it has seen in its long, long life. Hot water (from the obviously sludge-filled tank right in the bathroom) ran out after 1 shower. No hangers. Kitchen…yes; a bowl…no. Huge cracks in drywall on ceiling and many walls. Decor is on the “slum” side of quaint, with exposed poorly working plumbing, junk and waist-high weeds in the “courtyard”, dim lighting, and ghetto-class fixtures. The only nice thing I can say is that it wasn’t infested with bedbugs when I was there, though I’ll be carefully washing my feet after accidentally stepping on the carpet.
We stayed at these cabins 2 nights, 2 cabins July 2020, they are not very good. In 1 cabin the front and back doors had visible gaps at the top and did not stay closed or lock well. The water heater pipes run through the bedroom so it’s very loud when someone showers. The other cabin the bathtub did not drain properly and the toilet wobbled when you sit on it. The kitchenette is from 1940’s and there were few pots or pans to cook with besides cups and plates. The floors were very uneven, even in bathrooms. The only reason we stayed here was cause we had 2 dogs and booked late, everything else sold out. Definitely not worth $110-120 we paid. We stayed one night at another place in Lake City, recently remodeled with nice kitchen and tons to cook with.
Not great. Back half of the cabin is sloping away from the main part so the tub doesn’t drain, the toilet is on a slant, and the head of the bed is lower than the foot… everything is threadbare, and it doesn’t feel super clean. Right by the road so truck and OHV traffic comes through the windows.
4. Chillin’ Internet Cafe
Address: 205 Gunnison Ave, Lake City, CO 81235 , Lake City , Colorado , United States
Great friendly staff, amazing variety and wonderful atmosphere. Will absolutely be coming back to try more
Great cold brew. The owners are a young couple that are super friendly and very supportive of OHV folks. Very cute Colorado town, we loved our visit.
Oh WOW this place is amazing. Anything on the breakfast menu is delicious. I had the huge burrito with a small hot chocolate. The staff is amazing and very nice. I WILL go back there if I ever make it back to their cute little town.
Great patio. Good food. But … 1) The owners are very vocal about their politics, which is their right. But if you don’t share their views or – like me – wish for a time when politics were kept private rather than being a personality trait, you may not feel comfortable. 2) They play very loud music from open to close, which I don’t mind but I bet the neighbors and the people trying to enjoy the neighboring park do
Busy, good coffee. Staff were apologetic for the wait which was nice!
Not a bad place, nice coffee on the main drag of Lake City.
I do miss Mean Jeans though
Too grumpy this a.m. to give me a taste of their sausage gravy or an egg over easy for my sandwich.
Pretty disappointing. The staff is friendlier than at begging for bagels down the road, but the breakfast sandwich is two eggs on a thomas bagel with Macdonalds cheese. The pro gun signs were a little weird.
The two people behind the counter were not wearing masks and weren’t requiring customers to do so defying current restrictions. Also the wait time was completely unreasonable.
5. The North Face Lodge
Address: 1223 CO-149, Lake City, CO 81235 , Lake City , Colorado , United States
We stayed in the Aspen room. They were very accommodating as we booked the room at noon last minute and they were able to have it cleaned and ready by our arrival time at 1p. When we arrived the owners greeted us and showed us where to park. We were a little worried since the style was a motel but we were proven wrong. It had a rather large room with a great bed. Not sure how the other rooms compare but for me nothing is better than a 4 post wooden bed. There was great views from the deck. The room was not to hot nor cold, it did rain off and on throughout our stay. Would definitely stay here again.
The most friendly, most accommodating owners I’ve experienced in CO.
Very comfortable and with everything you need for an extended stay
Excellent customer service. Hugh waited for us to arrive to show us the room, and had free beer and wine on the patio for guests.
The rooms are older, but clean and comfortable.
I would stay there again.
Very comfortable beds. Not as clean as last time, but not bad. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful view of the town.
$150.00 for a Sunday night stay! I don’t think so.
6. Lightshine Music
Address: 514 La Veta Ave, Alamosa, CO 81101 , Lake City , Colorado , United States
Great owner and staff, 1st class repair shop and guitar techs here. Highly recommended
A wonderful interaction, place feels like music knowledge and compassion
Great real deal music shop, much better than going to a big box store.
Sell instruments, have manuals, seem to want you in and out
Bob was friendly and helpful
Bob is awesome to work with and very knowledgeable. Has a great selection of used equipment.
I have personal issues with the owner/operator
I will never do business with them again. We had taken an alto sax in for pad repairs and it too over 2 months to be repaired and then were charged outrageously for it.
Do not bring your instruments here for repair. I brought my violin in to be repaired and it was completely ruined by the worker. All it needed was for a small hairline crack to be filled. Instead, the repairman decided it would be better to sand off the varnish and stain which is impossible to replace and match to the original. Although I liked the store before this experience, I cannot forgive this kind of decision making. This would have been avoided if the repairman had simply told me how he planned on repairing the violin, but he did not.
7. Jimmy’s Music & Supply
Address: 1239 Main Ave Ste 101, Durango, CO 81301 , Lake City , Colorado , United States
Has what you need. Of not, he will help you find it. Very knowledgeable and friendly!
Friendly service, good selection!
Friendly and so helpful. Thanks Jim!
Good local music, guitar store
Jimmy’s music was very nice store however seemed understaffed.
Cute store pack with tons of things.
Had my mind set on buying a new piano keyboard and supporting this local music store in Durango and to know that the workers (maybe even the owners) don’t know how to treat their customers is very disappointing. When I walked in I wasn’t greeted, even after a few minutes I wasnt asked how I was doing or IF I NEEDED HELP FINDING ANYTHING. I know what you’re thinking “maybe he was busy” nooooo! Because there was another worker there and no one else was in the store. I wasn’t addressed or anything until I was about to leave. I know I’m an adult and maybe I should have just asked him myself but if I’m gonna spend a few hundred dollars at your store then I’d expect to be treated like it let alone be WELCOMED INTO THE STORE! But my question is why? Did I not looked like a serious buyer? Was it cause I was wearing a mask? Or was it cause I was brown? My questions are valid and justified through the actions of the workers. Sad to know that people are treated differently for whatever reason. Such a bad impression on the community and very disappointing experience.
They did not have what we were looking for.
8. Alpine Music Exchange
Address: 3997 Evergreen Pkwy, Evergreen, CO 80439 , Lake City , Colorado , United States
Nice little record store in Evergreen! Was definitely not expecting as much variety as there was since it is in an instrument store. It is very clean and organized with fair pricing (didn’t see anything over $20). The Staff was very nice and I was also impressed with the fact that they had a “New Wave” section, always appreciated!
Nice selection of used vinyl at a good price.
Such a fun place to explore!
Tons of awesome used CDs and vinyl.
He does great guitar work and setups! Great prices for service and some used gear. The best music store in evergreen for sure. Nice guy, helpful, knowledgable, great guitar tech, and they have a decent selection of used and new gear. Worth a stop in! I take all my guitars to him and he does as good or better than anybody in Denver for a better price.
I didn’t go here for the selection of musical instruments, but they do have quite a bit. I went here to dive into their record bins. They have a pretty good selection at reasonable prices. Check it out if you are in town!
9. Lake City
Address: Colorado 81235 , Lake City , Colorado , United States
Great inventory, great staff. I’ll be coming here every time I visit Denver!
Great little shop packed with guitars and drums! They were very friendly and eager to answer any questions I had. I’ll surely be back when I need a new guitar!
This is a cool store with interesting inventory.
Tell me if a person can come across any other place like this .
Nice greetings Nice knowledge on product in general . Ran well.
Family owned since 1965.
Real cool.
Great staff, bad prices!
Very nice little guitar shop with many other accessories for your musical needs drums Electronics you got it they got it
I’m a beginner so I went in looking for the ibanez bass guitar starter pack. Everything went smoothly (other than when I asked them for any begginers advice they have and was ignored twice) and I was happy until I got home and pulled it out of the box to start playing. That’s when I realized the bass to amp cable was missing. So I called them and they got me a new after I had to drive back to the store. Got home again, hooked up the bass to the amp, then realized I needed to tune it. The electronic tuner it was supposed to come with was missing. I decided I need to take a full inventory. I didn’t think this was necessary because of this stores great reputation. It was also missing the shoulder strap. I had to drive back one more to return the item. Upon returning, they blamed the manufacturer and never offered anything to make up for the lost time, gas money, and frustration I experienced. I decided not to leave this review as I continued my search for my first bass set up. I found a nice bass but now i needed an amp. So after a week, I called them to give them another chance (on black friday) and asked them if there was any deal they can give me since they already gave me the run around once and if I drive all the way to 44th I want it to be worth it. The response was that his cheapest amps start at $100. I am now deciding to leave this review in hopes of 1. Improving their customer service 2. Making a begginers buyer beware as i felt like I was treated poorly compared to the other customers who weren’t begginers. Their reviews say friendly but I felt no friendliness during my whole experience 3. If u purchase from here, check that they don’t rip u off by making a full inventory before leaving the premises.
I purchased a guitar from this company for my husband, it was a 7 string Schecter Omen which was something he had been wanting for quite some time so I purchased it as a surprise gift for him. He used the guitar once and the next time he went to play it wasn’t working. We took it to a company that fixes guitars and they informed us that it was a used guitar.. I paid full price for a guitar that was not only USED but BROKE immediately after purchase!! If you’re in the market for a guitar I highly suggest that you search elsewhere. Drum City is not a reliable place to purchase from
I ordered an item online that was in stock that the time of ordering. I even called in the store to confirm. I received an email A WEEK LATER saying my order was canceled because the item was out of stock. First and last time I ever buy from this store.
11. Golden Music
Address: 10395 W Colfax Ave, Lakewood, CO 80215 , Lake City , Colorado , United States
I take music lessons at Golden Music and Kelsey has always been very organized and helpful with my billing and scheduling. Very happy with my experience!
Love the selection, employees, and rental/rent-to-own program. They have a great maintenence plan included in the rental price, that really covers you or your child from breakage, and having to drive, or lose time waiting on a repair! They will give you a loner so you never have to stop practicing. Being Colorado Family Owned and Operated gives them a special place in my book.
While at Golden Music, I worked with an employee named Kelsey. After working with her to discern what type of ukulele would function best for me, she quickly finished the transaction and acted as though she prioritized my time. Overall, Kelsey’s knowledge and experience ensured a very pleasant experience.
I’m renting a violin for my daughter for elementary orchestra with Golden Music. At the rental night they were very helpful, informative and patient. One of the owners sized my daughter to make sure that moving her up from her 3/4 to a full sized violin was the right move and then got us all set up! They also deliver to the school or even your house if you don’t live near their store. I’ll update or add a review as we go since we are just beginning to work with them but a great help and service so far!
The quality of their rental instruments is good. However their employees are beyond rude, especially Terry who is probably the rudest most condescending person I have ever spoken with. Additionally the program they have to except payments is inaccurate so while your bank statement reads that your payment has been deducted and sent to them, they call and claim no payment has been made.
Great selection but not the best music store in Denver area.
We rented a cello from Golden Music through the school orchestra program. They were accommodating and helpful through the rental process. Now, the trouble begins when you return an instrument. I sent two emails with no response so I called to arrange pickup. The cello was picked up as scheduled from my child’s school. Subsequently, I had an employee come to my home to pick up the cello a week after it was picked up from the school. Then received several calls from different employees to arrange pickup. One of the employees was quite frustrated at me because the cello was already picked up. What’s concerning is how disorganized the store is when it comes to records. I expect a store that deals with large school district to have excellent records and customer service. Should we rent again, it won’t be through this store.
Horrible experience. Brought in my violin to have it priced and they said they’ll need two weeks (first red flag). Then three weeks pass and they still have not done anything. When I came to pick up my instrument, the employee had to look through piles of others to finally find it. Shows you how much they care for the instruments that are placed under their care…
Called Von’s Violin Shop in Hampton and the worker said to price would only take~ 15 mins. That’s where I’ll be going.
Literally the worst customer service I have ever encountered, bordering on fraudulent — this business charged my credit card without my authorization after I called in a rental payment. The issue was due to their own accounting incompetence and they deal with it in shady and completely unprofessional ways. And, the string rental program instruments are sad approximation of a real instrument. Many MUCH better rental programs in town. Big thumbs down to this terribly managed company.
12. Elledge Music Inc.
Address: 518 W Northern Ave, Pueblo, CO 81004 , Lake City , Colorado , United States
The owner is helpful and nice and will order quickly for you anything they don’t have.
I love the atmosphere. The smell of wooden stringed instruments fills the air with an excellence that’s been worked for through practice and calluses familiar only to musicians.
I had a old Yamaha acoustic guitar with broken neck!! Took it in to see if it even could be fixed! They told me they’re plans for the repair.when it was done it came to $ 25.00 with new strings and they steamed it back to new !!!it plays like it never was broken!!!
Fun music store….. unique classic place
Really nice man who’ll help you with anything owns this place. Been in Pueblo forever!
Nice owner. Friendly place. Very helpful.
Not very helpful he dont know what he’s selling.
I called, and inquired as to whether he purchased instruments at his location. I am new to the area. He responded “that’s why I have a music store, to buy and sell instruments”. When I gave him my instrument model (custom Ibanez in wonderful condition), he responded again by changing his statement. He said “I have too many instruments, I only want to sell”. I don’t leave reviews often, but this seemed necessary for future shoppers here.
I visited this music store with my cousin as his banjo was fixed and ready to be paid and taken home, Also with intent to buy their Luna electric but 5 minutes after entering the store and testing the poorly tuned guitars and tuning them for the store i was told by Mike that we’re too poor and can’t buy anything so I need to leave the store as they are busy and they don’t want to have to clean the guitars anymore from people touching them, (there was no business even going on except for them walking around and watching me or sitting down waiting for a customer.) So my cousin and I promptly left without a word, came back with the cash to pay off the repairs and I told them they lost our business.
If you would like to be treated like a clumsy, dirt poor fool while looking for a new guitar then this is the place for you! Otherwise steer clear of this rude and hateful establishment!
13. Olde Town Pickin’ Parlor
Address: 7515 Grandview Ave, Arvada, CO 80002 , Lake City , Colorado , United States
Awesome prices, awesome staff and awesome selection
Always a great place for string instruments. Outstanding repair shop. Very knowledgeable with years of experience.
Nice store with some real good things on display! Friendly shop.
I don’t know anything about picking parlor but I must say Olde Town has potential to be great. But…. they tear down way to many old interesting buildings that should be preserved and keep the Olde Town real. And I have to rate downtown a 3 with all the cigarette butts that are littered throughout the entire town! It is DISGUSTING!!!
Great little shop offering guitars, mandolins, banjos and a huge variety of stringed instruments both for sale and/or repair. A fun shop to visit, and if you play to try out the various instruments.
Fabulous selection but pricey.
Disappointing that employees won’t wear a mask, despite the sign on their front door saying it’s required. Decent selection but generally lacking in customer service.
First…the prices are way too high! The proprietor is a pompous chap to say the least. I walked into The Old Pickin’ Parlor today with $1500 in my pocket in hopes of finding a decent guitar. The gentleman who was running the store looked me up and down (sized me up) and went back to talking to the postman who had stopped to deliver the mail. Not a hello or howdy. I just moved here from Portland, Oregon and found that to be out of character from the friendliness I have found in the Denver area. I then started to look at some of the guitars. The store has some nice Martins, Collings, What looked to be Rhode Island Guilds behind the counter, etc.. I also noticed that the prices were inflated. I have been a collector/player since the 70’s and Have bought guitars from coast to coast. I know the going rate, and these were boutique prices. The real kicker was the guy behind the counter. After his initial glance, he never said another word to me. He made/answered a couple of calls of a personal nature in which he talked about playing an open mic the previous night. He called the sound man at this venue a 25 year old idiot with a tin ear, but despite that, he and his partner “wowed” the crowd anyway. His tone was abrasive and I thought it was so unprofessional to speak like that in front of a (now not so likely) paying customer. I decided to exit the store, and upon doing so looked over my shoulder. The guy was glaring at me! I had to laugh…wow! He did me the best favor possible, because I went to another acoustic specialty store in town and found a Guild NT-72! They only made 200 of these in 1994 (before Fender bought them) and it is unbelievable. Even more unbelievable is that I paid only $1700 for it. It was only $100 more than one of the stock J-50 Guild’s that this guy had at the Old Pickin’ Parlor. Look up the NT-72…you will see what a gem it is. Thanks brother! You may have wowed the crowd at the Open Mic, but you left this audience member(customer) unimpressed and slightly offended.
NOTE: There are other places that will treat you like an old friend in Denver…Try them first:)
I was looking forward to visiting, but after this experience it is highly unlikely I will ever go back. The guy working the counter today could not have cared less that a customer was in the store and interested in guitars. I tried to engage him in conversation, but he had zero interest in chatting with me. Thoroughly unimpressed. I have a hard time believing they will be able to stay in business if this is how most of the people who try to shop there are treated. I love to support local businesses, but unfortunately this won’t be one I support in the future. If you need anything guitar or music related, you’re probably better off finding another place to shop.
14. Affordable Music
Address: 104 Village Pl, Dillon, CO 80435 , Lake City , Colorado , United States
The owner is very sweet! He helped me pick out a capo and I was so grateful that I didn’t have to drive too far from Breckenridge to replace the one I lost. The store is cute and I’m sure I’ll be back with my friends 🙂
Great selection of all records, CDs and all music related. Great customer service.
Limited selection, average prices
I’ve heard good things about it but I was upstairs at pug Ryan’s bar
Surprisingly good 45 selection.
Sells broken products. Very expensive.
A shambles. Nothing affordable. Maybe okay for guitars, but not music. Looks like a yard sale gone bad. Used vinyl is poor quality, C- vinyl and covers disorganized and twice the price of Denver. Boxes of unsorted records strewn about. New stuff is full list price. Not worth the effort of stopping. Waste of time
Owner is a racist. He harassed my friend for shopping while black , four times AFTER he bought a CD. We went outside and had to show the police his recite.
Great place to shop if you are worried someone is impersonating you. Don’t shop there if you are black, he might call the cops.
15. Flipside Music
Address: 2231 S Platte River Dr, Denver, CO 80223 , Lake City , Colorado , United States
Top notch advice and service and a really cool inventory! I will go back soon!
Great store. Great gear. Fantastic staff. Boutique feel with rock bottom pricing and centrally located. I tell everyone who asks to shop here.
From the moment I came in the shop I was happily surprised to find guys really wanting to help me get what I needed and find the sound I am looking for. If first impressions are anything, I will be giving them my business from now on . Thank you.
Very knowledgeable staff and unique instruments
First Visit. Nice small shop, great pedal selection and some nice guitar brands (Reverend, G&L among others). Really friendly folks.
This store is one of Denver’s hidden gems! I walked in looking for a bass pre-amp… These guys blew me away with their knowledge and friendlyness. They definitely know their stuff. I’d recommend flip side to any bassist or guitarist for any needs except repairs( I don’t know if they do repairs, I didn’t ask, as I already have a guy for that…).
Overly expensive and also lots of homeless people hanging outside on the street near by. It’s a dump.
16. Music & Arts
Address: 8475 S Yosemite St Suite B, Lone Tree, CO 80124 , Lake City , Colorado , United States
Every time I walk in I always feel welcomed and the employees are always amazing:) highly recommend
I bought a used violin from their sister store after deciding I wanted to try to pick it up again after almost 20 years of not playing. The violin I received needed the bridge installed and needed tuning, so the sister store sent me to Music and Arts for help. Christopher helped me get the violin set up and ready to play. I told him my situation and he helped me pick out a music book to learn from and some accessories. What I appreciated most was that he was genuinely excited to share a love of music with someone looking to get back into it. Thank you for your help!
Good selection of musical gear, instruments, some sheet music, and other necessities. The rental prices are high – the markup on their instruments is, too- but overall it’s a good store with a friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Your one stop shop whether you want to buy or rent or repair musical instruments. They have friendly staff with reliable service and they do have branches at many places in Colorado
Very limited options. Good for beginner or any starter . Cheaper instruments and cheap music stand. Not recommended for intermediate or professional needs :/
Helpful staff, but totally under staffed. If you roll in expect a huge line and pack a lunch. It is a very poor experience.
Purchased a viola starter pack at a school rental night. Was told it would be delivered to the school within a few days. It is now more than a month later and my kid never got the starter pack. To top it off the customer service line does not answer the phone. I sent an email to see if I could get it resolved and the same day I got a random $30 charge on my credit card. This has been a very frustrating experience and my daughter still has no viola pack!
Very poor experience with lessons. Tried to cancel lessons because we were traveling for the holidays. We missed 3 of 4 lessons before they called and asked why we weren’t coming. We had originally planned on continuing our lessons, but after multiple refusals to work with us (saying “you signed the contract and there’s nothing we can do”) by staff and manager, that’s not going to happen. I wasn’t expecting much as they are technically correct – we did sign, but didn’t understand the auto renewal policy. They can do better, and should.
17. Flesher Hinton Music
Address: 5890 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80212 , Lake City , Colorado , United States
For those who think Flesher Hinton Music is no longer serving the public with their wide selection of music services and supplies, I have some great news for you! They are still in business in Wheat Ridge on 44th Avenue near Harlan Street. If they don’t have what you need in stock, they will go the extra mile to find what you need. Check them out and discover for yourself how they can fulfill your musical needs.
Best store owners ever!!!!
There’s parking at the new location. Really reasonably priced supplies. Not the best selection for buying instruments though. Since their relocation, seems they’re putting more emphasis on instrument repair. Still probably the best music supply shop in the area
The people employees are professional, knowledgeable, and ready to help!
As with any store like this, you can expect them to be salesmen, though they don’t push too hard and don’t avoid helping you find the lowest priced items.
The technicians are great, but I wish they had a bit more enthusiasm.
If you are testing out brass instruments or such, the practice room they put me in had too much reverb to get accurate samples, even with a recording device. I have yet to ask if they had a more acoustically dry room.
They can order sheet music and products, and have all the basics and many accessories for band musicians.
Like always the services people were just great.
Just terrible experience! Purchased a new wood clarinet 5 months ago. Found out it was cracking, unfortunately happens if not taken care of, but not in the first 5 months.
Took 2+ months to fix, when we finally picked it up, some old guy in the store started telling my 16 year old daughter about keeping it greased every six months- lecturing her because it was so dried out! Finally stepped in and told him…we bought it here less than 5 months ago…in other words, you sold an old dried out clarinet for $2000.00. Will never ever step foot in this store again d/t the service dept.
Went in to check out acoustic guitars earlier today. Got an important call as I was about to tune a guitar I was checking out and the guy behind the counter just starts blowing into some sort of wind instrument seemingly deliberately because taking a quick phone call. So I hung up the guitar and just walked out.
But the guy who welcomed me when I walked in seemed nice.

A beloved music store and luthier among the local musicians here. Don’t expect same-day service as Don’s work is in high demand. He is very knowledgeable and loves to share what he knows with his customers. Great selection of gear and accessories, great lesson programs, and has sponsored some awesome workshops as well.
Awesome shop, feels like a guitar shop, rather than a Wal Mart. A real good experience.
They have more than just guitars they also sell wind instruments and string instruments
Good people knowledgeable, highly recommend
Bought the tool I need next in my grand plan. 5 string Bass. It’s a pretty beauty.
I walked into this store today for the first time, didn’t even realize it was there before (I haven’t lived in longmont for almost 10 years but I visit family there frequently) so I thought I’d check it out. I came through the door to what seemed like the owner of the shop having a conversation with one of his employees. They initially acknowledge me and quickly said hello before going back to a heated conversation about what seemed to be the employees incompetence. This is a very small store, so I was inevitably able to hear the entire conversation whether it was of interest to me or not. I picked up a few guitars, played one or two, and I made a full circle around the store checking out the inventory before I walked out unnoticed after 10 minutes or so. Not once was I spoken to, but I was able to gain some insight about the employee and his peremptory store owner. It appears there had been a customer service issue and the employee was unable to accomplish something for a customer due to his lack of knowledge and confidence with the point of sale system. The manager then proceeded to train his employee as he made several comments about the store computer being nothing like his at home and that he didn’t understand the system. As a retail manager myself, I have an above average understanding (at the very least) of what good customer service in a properly managed business should look like. I’m writing this review less in distaste at the fact that I was not engaged by either of you in your store, but because I am a supporter of local businesses and I enjoy seeing them thrive in my hometown. Employees should be coached away from the vicinity of customers, and EVERY customer should be greeted and engaged if you expect your business to succeed. I didn’t need to hear your conversation, but I did, and my advice for you would be to let that particular employee go – he is old and unable to adapt to the point of sale system you have in place, and he doesn’t seem to have a basic instinct for customer service.
Don can be a bit rude and condescending. I want to support the small business local guys, but just a little more respect would go a long way.
Nice selection but not very good customer service. The cashier seemed more interested in planning his next ski trip than helping us out.
Edit: I did not review the wrong place. We watched the cashier playing around with Google Maps on the store computer (maybe not skiing, but definitely not work). We spent about 15 minutes there and he never greeted or acknowledged us. We had much better experiences at Larry’s and Guitars Etc.

I needed my sax fixed while on tour. Roper found me a part and got me back on the road quickly. Fantastic service. Great store.
I play the viola and they tended to all my needs with no Hassel
They helped me with what i needed
Very little selection
Good customer service and selection.
Previous band teachers of the grand valley recommend it but sometimes it takes a while to orders to come in.
Good friendly service and selection of musical supplies
Really expensive and very rude customer service.. they know they are the only music shop and they take advantage of all of us band parents… if you look on line you can find anything cheaper than them
Used to be a customer of 30 years, all of my life playing music – until today. Purchased an instrument case and I wasn’t 100% sure about it and the young person working that day said oh yeah, you can just bring it back for any reason for a refund as long as all of the accessories are still with it. I read my receipt and it said there is a 14 day return period and other various terms. I was within the 14 days and the other terms didn’t apply to this item. Upon returning the item a different person was there and as soon as I said I need to return it, had an attitude. They even.proceed to tell me my refund was $xxx amount, but took that back and said oh we have this 15% restocking fee. I said the receipt has the terms of return and a restocking fee isn’t on there. Why don’t the sales people point this out on large purchases. She just sighed and said nothing. This is what we get for trying to support local businesses. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else.
Strange vibe. Poor customer service, high overpriced.

Wow is all I can say. What a surprise to find this place. Biscuits and gravy was awesome, the wife enjoyed her poached eggs. All the ingredients were fresh.
Food was amazing! Best in lake city for sure. Service was great, such sweet waitresses. Loved it!
Wonderful spot in Lake City and the only one open late with good coffee. Try their pastries. They are wonderful! Friendly staff!
The best behavior mocktail was delicious. The avocado eggs Benedict was tasty as well. They did such a good job with the presentation! Such pretty plates! The staff was so attentive. I drink a lot of water and they always refilled it when I had finished. Great atmosphere and interior design as well.
