Very helpful and friendly staff. They adjusted the action on my guitar and the action is perfect!
Always friendly and helpful, prices are reasonable.
Quiero un pad electrónico de percusión y un subwoofer
Nice little music shop! Their in-store selection primarily covers the beginner-intermediate range, with many b-stock guitars at reduced prices. Good deals on amplifiers, good selection of mid range basses and guitars. Great deals on amplifiers — considered an SVT350H that they had in stock. Will definitely go back and keep checking the place out every so often!
Friendly and helpful staff
We called before making the 45 minute trip to purchase a guitar, strings and a case, only to be turned away because I brought my little service dog. It was 88 degrees so she did not have her Service Dog Vest on. I offered to go back to the car to put it in her. That wasn’t good enough. We were there less than 2 minutes. I had brought my 16 year old foreign exchange student there and he sure got a whiff of good old American culture today.
So embarrassing. Shame on them on all accounts.
Rude staff who didn’t seem to be interested in my business. I won’t be back.
Lack communication skills and people skills
6. Fletcher Music Center Inc
Address: 1560 Bella Cruz Dr, Lady Lake, FL 32159 , Lake County , Florida , United States
An absolutely amazing and different way to learn to play music. 6 weeks for $20, plus tax. Best value I have found to find out if you like learning to play the organ, which are actually Virtual Orchestras.
Seniors only. Learn to play keyboard. Cheap and fun
Friendly folks but it’s only an Organ Music Store. No other instruments. A nice gentleman did direct us in the right direction. Also, the store is on the left side of Publix, not by the UPS store.
I worked there years ago. It’s a scam designed to manipulate senior citizens into purchasing an inexpensive organ initially and then continuously pressuring them to buy the next tier up. Stay away from this place like the plaque!
Awesome business!!! As a pastor and sound engineer, I have found I can get what I need to make things better. Good inventory of quality items. You’ve got to shop The Music Store!
Awesome friendly and helpful staff. I’ll be back often.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Nice luthier work done on my guitar.
Rick was warm & friendly & it seems to have a nice stock of instruments. Tucked in the corner of the Staples building so it’s easy to drive right by without seeing it. Very little sheet music for vocalists so if that’s what your looking for don’t bother. They have an open mic night every 1st Saturday so I will come to one & see what it’s like.
Left them guitar to glue the neck, the estimation was way above market, that’s OK. I’ve decided to go to other store but during pick up I found scratches here and there. Lucky me-made a video when I did bring a guitar the 1st time. I am just disappointed- waste a month and no result. They did polish and removed scratches (not all as I found out in another store). Not a bad store with various instruments new and used, I even bought a bass, but I do not trust their guitar master. Rick is a good guy but the master is a 3rd party that occasionally appears and takes guitars home, where I guess and damage mine.
OUT OF BUSINESS!!!Waste of time!!! Drove over an hour only to find out that there is No Music Store. I called the owner who seemed nice enough, but that doesn’t pay for the price of gas that I wasted looking for something that doesn’t exist (over two hours round trip) Change your google information about your “store “ and let people know that you are no longer in business. I will never be a customer of someone who has no regard for the value his customers time. Let people know that you are OUT OF BUSINESS
I dropped off my instruments for a tuneup. I was quoted $280 and I said of course! Never had a problem until I went to pick them up! Two individuals whom I’ve never seen before were at the counter. My instruments were sitting aside ready for pickup. I told the man who asked how much I was charged $280. He goes to the back, gets someone else and she never addresses me but questions him in obvious skepticism $280 for all of this? She proceeds to go in the back, as if she’s out of range of my hearing, to call the owner and verify if I was telling the truth. Why would I lie? $280 is not a little bit. Then she proceeds to say we just wanted to make sure because we weren’t told. I should have been able to come in with my tickets, ID, and money and pick up my instruments! Not have to wait because of whatever PREJUDICE these people feel! That exchange alone is why I’ll NEVER return here! I’ll pay whatever for my instruments.
Edit–Response:
Rick B.,
You are correct–you were NOT there. I am aware that you are the owner and as the owner you FAILED to communicate with your employees. Either way, there were failures through no fault of my own. I shared MY experience, which you were not present for and you have ADMITTED was your fault. SHAME ON YOU! This ought to be a learning lesson in communication so that these FAILURES do not happen again in the future! DO BETTER!
Their pricing is ridiculous. $250 for a used Ibanez acoustic that’s missing the electronics? That guitar sells for $350 brand new!! Also, after reading the reviews, I would bet $100 that most of the 5 star reviews were made up by the owner. Absolutely pathetic.
9. Soul to Squeeze Record & Pop Culture Shoppe
Address: 5 N Eustis St, Eustis, FL 32726 , Lake County , Florida , United States
I never expected a place in this location to have what it does. I don’t even see this stuff in the big city record shops. The store is small but bursting with stuff. The guy working there knows everything you have a question about or he will find an answer for you. He pulled out cases and cases of cassettes for me to check out. Some seriously great titles. I got a good chunk of stuff here and the prices are pretty fair not the cheapest around but I def haven’t see what he has anywhere else. He was really good at making sure everything I got was in good condition and making sure nothing was in the wrong case which in other stores has happened to me and was pretty disappointing when I got home, but he made sure I was good to go. He was passionate about what he does and it shows. Really cool guy and if you like record shops check this place out you won’t regret it. He has a lot of pop culture stuff too .
Tyson is THE MAN. Soul II Squeeze is by far my favorite record shop in Florida. From the amazing selection, the pricing, and above all, the stellar customer service. Tyson is super helpful and knowledgeable, and so generous. You can tell this store is run by someone who truly loves what they do, and it’s stores like these that make ME really love collecting vinyl records so much more.
Tyson a great guy, proactive and willing to help.
Fair price and record condition. Good place to visit.
Cassettes were a little expensive but they were worth the money
Don’t waste your time. Go to Rennigers or take a drive to Daytona Atlantic Sounds or Steve’s in Deland. This is the second attempt at this store for me. His records are over priced. If you do want to purchase Vinyl from this store definitely inspect before you buy. The record I was looking to purchase had visible scratches that I showed to him. Said he could get $20 for that all day long online. So if your purchasing online buyer beware, it might be scratched. I’ve been collecting for years and purchase a lot of vinyl. I’ll gladly pay $20 for a semi rare good condition vinyl. The record he was selling for $20 should’ve been between $2 to $5 tops in the condition it was in. Unfortunately will not be returning to this store, which really kinda sucks because I was really wanting a local music store to shop at. Also only takes cash or PayPal.
Looks like a great store if only I could get in to check out his huge inventory. I have been there four times now during the posted OPEN hours and it is always CLOSED. I have even gone twice on a Saturday afternoon. Very disappointing as I have a new turntable that needs albums
10. CornerStone Music, LLC
Address: 798 W Montrose St, Clermont, FL 34711 , Lake County , Florida , United States
This place is awesome. They are very knowledgeable and I trust them. I am so glad I stopped by and would highly recommend them.
Very nice, helpful not price gouging.
Amazing customer service.
Great local shop, sharp staff reasonable prices
Really nice guys!
Despite the trumpet not working out for my son… the staff was helpful, understanding, and ever so friendly! I highly recommend getting your school band rentals here!
For the several thousands of dollars my family has spent at this business, I expect Pete to be friendly/pleasant towards us(at the very least), for life, but he clearly can’t maintain that. He started acting rude towards my mom some years back, and now me. For no apparent reason. I hope that keeping that sour attitude of yours is worth losing 20+ year customers who often went out of their way to spend money at your establishment and stay local. Weird way to treat people who earned you money. Avoid. He’s one of those guys who thinks everyone is a “democrat”. Super solid reason to push customers away.

Dan Arnold is talented and very patient. He make learning an instrument fun!
We have taken piano lessons with Dan Arnold for many years. He is excellent with kids, he’s funny and he knowns how to direct their attention to get the best out of them. Thanks Dan!
Dan Arnold is knowledgeable, patient, enthusiastic, and encouraging during lessons. He is willing and able to explain details until the subject is clear.
I have been taking drum lessons for nearly a year and am thrilled with the progress made. My success is due to hard work and the dedication of my instructor, Dan Arnold.
14. Tavares Family Jewelry & Pawn
Address: 4129 County Rd 561, Tavares, FL 32778 , Lake County , Florida , United States
Everyone is so friendly and helpful! Thank you ladies!
The place is clean, spacious, and they remember repeat customers. You’ll enjoy your visit.
Great service!!!!!! Very family oriented and puts customers first and will always work with you. Thank you guys.
Great place helpfully staff
Nice experience…very helpful people…appreciated the courtesy.
Great customer service, prices are very reasonable and willing to accept any returns that is faulty .
If I could give this place a negative star I would. By the far the most offended I’ve ever felt doing business with a pawn shop. Take your business else where to avoid being taken advantage of.
I called Family Jewelry & Pawn and told them about an item I had. A Yamaha PSR 19 electric keyboard, excellent condition with padded leather carrying case original manual and stand. They told me they’d give me 30 dollars. I drove all the way out there and showed them the keyboard. Plugged it in and demonstrated it worked perfectly. No scratches, mars or defects what-so-ever. They changed there price to 15. Yes I was told 15, made the drive out there and they decided to only give me 15 dollars instead. WHY? THEY ARE DISHONEST. This place gives pawn shops a bad name. I wish I could load a copy of the receipt to prove it. The Yamaha Keyboard PSR 19 is worth a lot more than 15 bucks. What a SLAP IN THE FACE
Horrific customer service- I wouldn’t go there if someone paid me.
15. Matthew Baynes School of Music and Music Central
Address: 605 S 14th St, Leesburg, FL 34748 , Lake County , Florida , United States
Very helpful and professional. I love the fact he helped me by listening to what I wanted and even played the guitar so I could hear how beautiful the sound was. Thank you so much for your help.
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I’ve purchased equipment there. Had equipment repaired. And I’m taking lessons. I am a totally satisfied customer in all respects.
Excellent musical instruments
Nice staff ….. clean store …..l shop there again
Matt was very helpful and the selection is great!
They have a good selection of guitars.
Sold me a broken guitar and the worker literally told me the owner would steal my guitar if I left it for repairs, but then offered to repair it for free. That’s not an exaggeration or misquote. They smoke cigarettes in store, prices are all double what any other store prices at, to even get a price for anything the worker has to attempt to get ahold of the owner Matt which can take hours. I only got my guitar back because I threatened a lawsuit. Seriously this is a horrible business and Matt is the type of guy to go to an open mic and play back to back covers of Wagon Wheel. Too bad he didn’t have the balls to reply to me, none of what I said is untrue and he can’t even bother trying to deny it.
Placed a guitar and case on consignment. Items were sold yet they have yet to pay me – 3 yrs ago! I have called, Chris got involved and was going to check and call me back – never happened after numerous promises. I consider Matt a thief – that is what you call someone who owes you money & doesn’t pay you. Run away from this bunch… horrible experience.
If i could give it less if I would. You claim your open till 6 on Saturdays. Nobody was home. Tisk tisk.
Simply awesome! Always great to see them! You can always count on a wide variety of artists and songs. I have been watching them play for many years!
Nayme Brand is a high energy, husband and wife duo that builds community through their music! A recommended source for variety rock, pop cover and original music, modern rock, worship cover and their own original music.
check out this fun Husband and Wife dynamic music duo! Kevin and Kristen Nayme play everything from variety rock of the 50 and 60s to modern rock, with a little bit of Country mixed in.
Kevin was a founding and full-time member of Disney’s ‘British Revolution’ a British rock cover band that played at Disney World’s Epcot Theme Park from May 2011 through March 2020 until their contract was abruptly canceled due to the economic instability caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In late 2019, Kristen started sharing the stage with Kevin full-time. Since losing their live gigs and jobs to COVID-19, Kevin and Kristen started performing Livestream concerts from their home. They are also hard at work writing original material and expanding online opportunities through social media and YouTube, and now they perform music on stage and full-time! Our entire group loved their music!
They were incredible, we have had so many compliments. They played the crowd, did requests, made my daughters wedding so special. The next day they performed for our small town Prescott Daze, and were loved!
After a very disappointing experience at another Central Florida music shop, my daughter and I visited Music Shack in hopes of finding her a clarinet. What an outstanding experience!
Music Shack is a small, family-owned musical instruments shop in a Longwood strip plaza. Aptly named, the ‘Shack’ is not a big place, but the service you will receive here far surpasses any lack of variety in their selections.
Amelia was the store’s representative who assisted my daughter and I. She was both knowledgable and patient as we asked our 101 “newbie” questions about clarinets, rental agreements and reeds. In the end, I have a happy daughter because of Music Shack and that makes me a happy Dad. I look forward to many future visits over the years to come.
Thank you, Music Shack. Please keep up the great work.
Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Stocked with essentials for the new instrument player.
I had a flute that hadn’t been used in years since a relative passed away. My grandson decided to play the flute. So Cleve repaired it by doing a complete overhaul. It’s amazing. Thank you Cleve for taking the time to repair this important instrument for us.
I purchased music here. It was OK.
Great customer service!!
The staff were easy going and helpful .
Went for sax repair. Took about 20 minutes just to drop off sax and purchase one item. Sax repair was overpriced and only partially complete. Was partially ready two days after promised. Phil, who does the repair kindly explained to me that it was my fault the repair was not complete and that for an additional fee he would complete the repair. Worst customer experience I’ve had in a very long time. Will not be back.
Very disorganized, have you running all over the place to just get one simple equipment.
Awful customer service. Sons middle school tried to push this business for band rentals. I called early on a business morning and Received their voicemail. I left a message and it’s been days where no one could handle to spend a few minutes to contact me back. I rather bring my money elsewhere.
Edited to respond to owner. Yes I’m aware everywhere is short staffed due to Covid. That’s why I was ok with waiting DAYS for a response but never got one. You did not hear my voicemail yesterday because like I said , I left it last week and have gone DAYS without the business following up. I was patient and understood that due to Covid I might not get anyone to answer their business phone immediately. I waited DAYS for the business to be able to catch up and respond to me but was left in the dark. If I can’t get a question answered before handing over my money, why would I trust that once you have my business I could get through to you for any rental issues in the future. Like I said I will seek other places.
Best guitar shop in town! cool staff, awesome guitars, and good prices. I have sold a few guitars to the shop, they always give a fair offer. If you are buying or selling a guitar I would recommend black bird over guitar center or Sam Ash.
The staff is really nice, but the store is the size of a walk in closet. They had some pretty cool used guitars, and a few amps, but this place is nothing in comparison to Jimmy’s Vintage Music. I couldn’t get over how small the place was. The “vintage” part seems a little lofty as well.. I’d say “used” more than “vintage”. Really cool guys who work there though.
Usually I don’t talk bad about business partners but this time I feel like I have to, sorry about that!
I spend over 1,000$ at this store and still don’t even know the name of the person I communicated with!
It honestly was the worst buying experience I’ve ever been through.
First of all, I tried to negotiate on the price (cause this is what you usually do) but there was noooo way to lower the price, not even the tiniest bit…
Well, that’s not the reason for the bad review but it’s definitely part of the whole bad buying experience. I agreed to buy the guitar anyways for the listed price, everything okay so far.
Then the troubles started to take over. The seller told me that if I want to pay by Credit Card they would only ship to my credit card’s address, although this means they would have to ship the guitar to Germany. Never heard something like this before…So I had the trouble of finding a different way to pay. The seller didn’t even seem to be interested in finding a different solution for me, I had to figure things out on my own.
Well, I found a way and the shipping worked well BUT I asked for a receipt, cause I will need that for import documentation to Germany. And guess what, the receipt never got to me.
After asking for a digital receipt via mail, this store seriously asked me what a receipt looks like and offered me a screenshot of the PayPal transaction…..
Guys, I don’t know what kind of sketchy business is going on here, but the customer is definitely not king in this place!
Sorry, but this is not how you treat customers who spend more than 1,000$ at your store….
I’m just glad the guitar arrived….
Walked in this place on 3/27 with the money I got from my tax return. The guy working the sales floor did not greet me. I ask him a question about a Breedlove guitar and he said he did not know if it included the pickup or not. He could not give me an answer as to the price of the guitar. I had $3400 bucks cash just burning a hole in my pocket and I was out to buy a nice guitar. Then I saw a nice Martin D-35 on the wall. He handed it to me and within 5 minutes I fell in love with the instrument. I ask him a simple question about the Martin and he completely ignored me. He was working on his laptop and had no time for customers. I purchase several high end guitars a year and I will NEVER go in this shiyhole again. Nor will I recommend them to anyone. I I were you I’d avoid this place.
Here is the owners unbelievable response:
Hi James. I’m finding it hard to believe a word of your review. There is no possible way you asked if our Breedlove had a pickup in it. None. Nor would my employee fail to answer two questions about a Martin that he just handed you. Feel free to call me, if for no other reason than to verify that you were even at the right store. Eric
Here is my response:
So you think your best response is to call me a liar. All this does is piss me off more. I can promise you every word of that review is true except for the fact that it was a Martin D-28 and not a D-35. You would have been much wiser to try and contact me in a professional way as apposed to being accusatory. Seeing that you find it except able to call me a liar I would like to point out that your sir are a complete and utter moron.
Below is another response by the owner of this business. First of all I need to say that every word I wrote in my review is absolutely TRUE. I made up nothing. I would have no motivation to do so. I am not a competitor of his and prior to walking to Blackbird I knew nothing about them. Just look at this guys response to a legitimate customer complaint. You need to ask yourself after reading this guys response “Is this a person I want to do business with”? “Is this a music store that I would want to deal with if I had a problem with an item I bought from them”. This owner is totally unprofessional and IMHO does not deserve to be in business.
