Absolute favorite liquor store. The proprietor makes it a point to seek out special requests. We found a brand of rum bottled on St. Kitts that I fell in love with but had a very difficult time finding; it’s now stocked at Super Wine & Liquor. Excellent customer service.
Great little cozy bar. Not alot of excitement but a great selection of beer and mixed drinks! Ask about the best barmaid there, Lisa! Friendly and on time with the drinks, love her!
I love this place. Super nice owners and always helpful as I don’t drink they help me find gifts for others.
Little pricy on liquor.
Good prises
Kinda cool kinda not
I didn’t stop at Super Wine & Liquor, only drove by.
Where Jerry Springer finds his guests.

Staff not very helpful on items for sale. I’ve asked if they have any items that’s not found and they say they don’t know. And that is it, they make no effort to see if your item is in the store.
Even for a dollar general this place was a dump. All the parking lot lights were out the Sign was burnt out and they left the door open to let people know that they were open so there were a ton of bugs in there
6. Nu-Hope Thrift Shop
Address: 103 S Main Ave, Lake Placid, FL 33852 , Lake Placid , Florida , United States
Some Lady gave a one star because you have to wear a face mask ? REALLY??? Some people REALLY should not share their reviews of others. I give her a 1 star for wanting to spread Covid to everyone else. So there! Nu Hope is a great thrift store with wonderful people!
Wonderful ladies ,always cheerful and curious.
This place rocks. If I don’t get in there at least twice a month I start having withdrawls.
They have a little bit of everything. Children’s toys. Clothes for all ages. Furniture. The staff are very nice and helpful.
This is a phenomenal, smaller thrift store. Over the years I have found incredible items ranging from home, apparel, and antiques; ranging from high quality items to lesser, more trendy items. It’s my go-to. I only have one complaint: pricing. While yes, the prices are fantastic and no other store locally can compete, the pricing is unpredictable and seems to be going up consistently. I went from shopping 2-3 days a week to now only stopping in every other week or so because I know I’ll leave now having spent more than I find items worth. The other day I bought two vases. One was considerably higher quality and yet it cost less than a smaller, less durable vase that someone had clearly painted over. In cases like this I wish NuHope would make a set price according to categories. The prices vary considerably from item to item, employee to employee. Another example? Shoes. I’m hard pressed to buy a pair of used shoes for $8-$10. The boutique rack is also questionable. I once bought an item of high value on the regular racks for $1 and then was charged $15 for a trendy item on the boutique rack that was valued for far less than the first item. It would be great if, again, there would be a set price. I do understand that there are some items that are of higher quality and should cost a bit more, but I have paid more money for items than what they are actually worth and I think the problem stems from employees pricing things with their differing perspectives. I’ve had an employee give me one price saying it would definitely be discounted due to poor function, come back later and have another employee tell me the price is higher and sold “as is.”
My complaint isn’t so much the money itself. I will pay good money for good items and I’m happy to give back. I simply feel there are kinks in the pricing that should be worked out before prices continue to climb and NuHope no longer competes with the likes of Goodwill.
Excelente
My mom always wants to go there and I don’t want to but she gets distracted by the place
Closes to early….prices are to high and a hateful man works there.
Hit or Miss. Needs to be Organized and cleaned up. Lots of treasures but too cluttered.
7. Bealls Outlet
Address: 490 US Hwy 27 Ste 1280, Lake Placid, FL 33852 , Lake Placid , Florida , United States
Looks as though there’s new management as it’s been slightly reorganized and appears to be better maintained.
I was in the store earlier this evening and the store manager shouted over the intercom “everyone put everything back on the racks and get out NOW the police are on their way!”
I have no idea who she was yelling at because she proceeded to say it a second time when people weren’t moving fast enough. So I just put me stuff back and left to go to Publix, after about an hour of shopping I drove past this store again and there were people inside and no cops to be seen. A very ridiculous and unprofessional experience
Not a good selections..
Lots of clothes that should have been on clearance racks. Did not find anything of interest and prices were very high compared to prepandemic.

This Family Dollar store has the nicest employees. They are always busy but ready to help you at any time. The store is always clean and well stocked. I will continue to be a regular customer!
Ok,tough to maintain social distance place crowded with merchandise and people
Store was clean and no line. Love the brand new rows and just a nice looking store. People all helpful
Great Dollar store..tons of merchandise..
I could have walked out with the whole store and employ was busy talking to other employee
If I could rate them a big fat 0 I would. Very rude so called manager. Thinks everyone is Stealing How does this company allow this to go on. I see more and more people saying the same thing about this one store. They really need people that care about their job and people.
Rude employees that chat constantly or play on their phones the entire time.

The BLT sandwich made with brown sugar crusted millionaires bacon is amazing!
Such a refreshing gem in Lake Placid! The food is clean and fresh and flavorful, the service is top notch and polite and the vibe is urban, if that makes sense. Please don’t miss this place for a quick bite while you’re visiting LP! This town needs more places just like this one !
Order at the counter, food brought to your table. Excellent grub, made to order. Definitely worth a visit.
Meh
Good place and nice brunch…
The food is amazing but somewhat disappointed with the owner. Asked the owner for a take out box and told to get in line behind 8 people placing orders when simply could have handed me a box. Bad attitude. Cashier was very friendly.
My coworker gave me a gift certificate for going over and above. Several occasions I went into this establishment during the pandemic but because of that I only wanted to purchase some dessert items. There was never much available when I stopped in. On Monday March 1st my daughter realized it had an expiration date on it of Feb 28, 2021. I thought no big deal I will just go in this weekend, due to the pandemic and it only just expired I never in a million years thought a restaurant in our small town would not honor this. Well to my surprise they told me no they would not honor a gift certificate that was paid for with CASH. They claimed they never shut down during the pandemic and obviously did not CARE THAT OHERS DID NOT FEEL SAFE going out to restaurants.
WHAT KIND OF SELF CENTERED BUSINESS OWNER ARE YOU! Obviously not one that I or many people will ever return too!
You made $20 off of me today, hope you feel good about it!
When I proceeded to tell their customers what I was just told, he told me to leave and then threatened to call the police!
You don’t deserve to be in business!!! Customer service, you don’t have it, you did not even have the nerve to tell me yourself you told the cashier to tell me. Only spoke up when I started telling your customers, what a joke!
there was GRIDS in my food……
Showed up on a Saturday at 1:35 and were told they were closing early. Traveled in to visit for the day and looked forward to eating here. Disappointing.

We rented a pontoon boat from Lake June Pontoon and we couldn’t of been more happy with the boat or the customer service by the entire staff. They even brought the boat the evening before and we got in an extra sunset cruise. It was a huge pontoon with lots of room for our family and friends! We highly recommend Lake June Pontoon Rentals and we will definitely rent one again next year! Fred and Carol Hicks
She was the best so nice. Restful and so cool
Great service. Boat ran perfectly, clean and family had fantastic experience. Kristan gives upmost care and friendly service. Will definitely use this company again!
17. Good Vibes Juice & Smoothie Restaurant
Address: 215 N Main Ave, Lake Placid, FL 33852 , Lake Placid , Florida , United States
We drive from Sebring and would drive further just to eat at Good Vibes Juice and Smoothies.. Great food,Great staff, great atmosphere, I could keep on but why not stop by and try something fresh and delicious.I highly recommend!
My favorite place in LP! My whole family loves this place. Even my very picky cowboy husband who only eats meat and potatoes was able to find a smoothie called “Life By Chocolate” that he loves!!
Best smoothies ever! Definitely recommend!
The smoothies were good. We also had the Buddha Bowl and Greek Bowl. It is a bit expensive.
Friendly suggestion:
Some of the individual ingredients (rice, dressing, veggies) need some love.
Seasoning, as in salt & pepper etc. Garlic, chives, green onions, basil, etc, lemon/lime juice would give it a lift! Balancing flavors with natural ingredients.
Service was good!
Not sure what happened here but in the beginning when they first opened the cafe, the food was so delicious, but lately it’s not the same at all. The amount of food served doesn’t match the price. Menu never changes, besides some daily specials.
18. Lee’s Nails & Spa
Address: 131 Tower St, Lake Placid, FL 33852 , Lake Placid , Florida , United States
Very clean and professional. Toes still look great after 3 weeks.
Great service every time. My wife loves it, and so do I! Clean place, professional service, and courteous staff.
I came in today to see Kevin and he did great! The people here are always busy but super nice and professional. I had a previous acrylic gel set on that we removed and then did a new full set, gel polish, with designs and Kevin did amazing! I also did another service after this which was french tip gel toes and he did great! Definitely recommend!
Pedicure was decent..I scheduled an appointment for for both Pedicure and full set of acrylics..they didn’t recognize my acrylics..took me anyway and rushed through the acrylics..needless to say..2 nails crooked as all hell! Not impressed.
Nice very clean and reasonable price
Very friendly and courtesy staff. The gentleman that did my pedicure was wonderful and obliging when I wanted my massage on my feet abs legs to be done a little firmer that what is normally done. Had a great experience there. Would recommend.
The girl who did my pedicure was great I’m not happy with my nails I payed $100 for both the pedicure and I did the dip 2 days ago and it looks like I got them done 2 weeks ago the nail tech did not get the dip to the cuticle
lumpy and the pictures speak for themselves.
Reply: no, they were made July 5th, i just was hesitant about writing a review. However, I’ve never had worse nails. To give you a further review, i took my sister to get her nails done for her birthday and her most of her nails came off within the first four days. I was helped by both the owner and what I believe to be the wife.
This was a horrible exsperience !!!! The lady was so rough with me while painting my nails and they look so messy. They gave me such a horrible time when i wanted to change my nail color. While I dried my nails the light burned my arm. Dont go here! I wont be back ever.

Address: 206 E Interlake Blvd, Lake Placid, FL 33852 , Lake Placid , Florida , United States
I became homeless,I went to this store to get a blanket so I didn’t freeze sleeping outside in the brush off the side of the highway. The Gentleman that owns the store said he didn’t really have much for linens.. He then proceeded to walk to the back storage area and found a sheet and a blanket and said it was on the house. Then he called me over and handed me a camping kit with utensils plates and a pop up cup. He then brought me over to the other side of the shop and gave me canned goods and a microwave beef stew. I almost cried when he handed me the food. I said thank you and walked across the street. He then called out to me and had a rolling suitcase… This Gentleman blew my mind with his generosity and kind heart. I can’t say thank you enough. Amazing owner,a place I will never forget.
Always find a goodie or two. Enjoy scouting there. Hit or miss but some great finds for project pieces.
Great place to shop at, no pressure buying, young man let us look and was so helpful when we seen something we wanted. We bought the item and he carried it out to our car and said thanks, come again and we definitely will !!!
Weird owner … bad vibes
My mother just went in and had a nasty run in with the guy and lady that work there.
The man there was rude. I told the person I was with his prices were to hi. He followed us out to the care. And took our pictures.
20. Jaxson’s
Address: 443 Lake June Rd, Lake Placid, FL 33852 , Lake Placid , Florida , United States
Great food. Fried pickles and tuna were very good. View of the lake is nice too
Good service. Price nice people
4.75 stars…. excellent fried catfish and fried mushrooms were fantastic.
Extremely busy, kitchen was 1 hour behind. Wait staff honest and helpful, beverages served immediately.
Great food and good beer prices. It’s a nice ride on the motorcycle. We travel 90 miles to get there.
Hostile environment as long as your spending money I guess you can do whatever you want and They don’t support veterans due to the female owner but she then said “I will gladly take their money” will never be back
My mom, cousin and I took a trip here in Lake Placid from Wisconsin. We looked up places to eat out, and saw this as the #1 choice. we definitely discovered that this ranking came from the locals. from an “outsiders” perspective, this is a bar that is AT BEST average. the food is fine, if not a little strange. my mom ordered a burger, and it was very rare. she could only eat around the edges. the reason she didn’t reorder is because it took 45-50 minutes to get our food, and it was not busy by any means. the waitress also gave off an atittude like we were a burden to serve. the music was absurdly loud, a ridiculous volume for a small bar. something to note as well, if you look like you may be from out of town, you’ll receive a strong vibe that you’re not very welcome. my cousin and I wore masks inside because we didn’t know what the policy would be and if the owner would ask for masks to be worn. it was out of politeness. I have never, ever been stared at like I was then in my life. this is a place for a small and select group of people who may not have the most developed palates. the food is okay, service is below average, and the crowd is even worse. and if anyone was wondering, Jaxson’s on the lake is in fact, not on the lake. also, the hookie melt, uh.. idk. jury’s out.
