Really the only mom and pops store all selling music.
it’s 12th street. it’s legendary. behold.
Nice fellow
Always on time with my
needs
Mr. Mike is good people. And the vinyl album selection, is extensive & priced more than fair, quite cheap actually. Also, prints a nice selection of T-shirts that honors fallen Men & Children of Color. GOD bless you Mike
If you like the smell of urine, not sure if human or feline, this place is for you. Through the first door you are hit with musty mold smell but through that second door all you smell is piss.
I use to love this place, he use to have music that you couldn’t find anywhere.. now he doesn’t have it…Bommer…..
This place in shambles! Albums spilling out of boxes on the floor T-shirts strewn everywhere. The albums in the bins were in no order. Left after 10 minutes.
Went into this place just to window shop. Greeted and felt welcomed going in. Inquired about guitar setup and intonation and they provide the service, which is a plus. Good selection of guitar accessories for my future needs.
Scott was great, got what I needed and their store is going to help with my upcycling program. Go Saied Music
Very friendly.
Nice people. A little pricey. Mainly for band students but they do have some sound equipment, just not a huge selection.
In and out. Didn’t stay long. However, they had what I wanted and no one in the area complained about the half Naked Trucker with a guitar in the parking lot zoning out in his own world.
Good for new strings but a small selection of equipment.
A few months ago, I visited Saied Music’s North Little Rock location to look into used flutes (online flutes are too hit-or-miss, I discovered, so I wanted to be able to try one before buying). Not wanting to spend a small fortune on an instrument I wasn’t sure I’d stick with, I figured used would be a safe bet.
The gentleman who was working that day showed me a Jupiter flute that had a price tag of $380 or $385 (I just distinctly remember it being in the $380 range). It had a head joint with a gold-plated lip plate that I found rather garish, but for the price, I was willing to consider it once I tried it and realized it played fairly easily. So, I went home to think on it, but I ultimately put off getting a flute for awhile.
Yesterday, I returned, and lo and behold, they had the same flute still in stock. However, this time a different guy brought it out, and the price had been removed, leaving only a partial green tag with some text on it. The man made a fairly loud show of talking to the other guy, who had originally showed it to me the first time I saw it, saying that, since it had a green tag, he could sell it for below the “book price.” He thumbed through a binder, ran his finger down a list of prices, and landed on $480. Then, he quoted me $450, saying that price was $30 below list.
I immediately thought of the scene in Legally Blonde when the clothing boutique worker pulls a tag off a dress from last season and tries to sell it to Elle for a huge mark-up, believing her to be too uninformed to know any better.
I closed the case without taking another look, then left the store without saying another word.
I lost all trust in Saied Music in that instant, and I will not return.
The absolute worst store ive ever been in will not be back
Not very much guitar stuff. Didn’t even have strap studs.

Absolutely top notch service. They’ve done a great job on several instruments for me. I would give them 6 stars but 5 is all I can. Update: The two guitar players that I play with and myself continue to use Renown and we have never been disappointed. Great, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Just a fantastic local business.
I love this place. My kid loves this place. He looks forward to his drum lessons every week.
I’ve been taking guitar lessons from Renoun Music since Sept 2022. I started from scratch and can now play some basic stuff and am having a great time. The guys there are great my teacher Travis Bowman is a world class guitarist. Did I mention I am 76. Highly recommend as a non -intimidating place for young and old. Reasonable pricing and many services.
7. Guitar Center
Address: 12315 Chenal Pkwy A, Little Rock, AR 72211 , Landmark , Arkansas , United States
This is one of my favorite places to go in Little Rock. I stop by just about every time I’m in town to look around. I don’t always buy anything. I like that I am able to check the instruments with no pressure to buy. Staff are helpful when needed but they also stay out of the way too. Thanks to their sales and financing I have bought a lot of nice guitars that I don’t think I would have any where else.
Awesome staff
Guitar Center, generally speaking, is one of a number of companies that is no longer a ‘mom and pop’ store, essentially. I’ll tell ya why here in a minute or three. More or less, they have pretty much what you’re looking for. Albeit, they’re the only store in town who has what you need. Now and again, some stores, somewhere, have some of the same stuff. But, invariably, it’s a pawn shop, more or less. So, you may buy strings and/or a used variety of the equipment you may get for most often a relatively, decent break in price. Though, not new is it. Now, some of the time, I’ve run into good salesman and good helpers at Guitar Center. For the most part, they’re adequate. By and large, I wanted to explain the one time I came at 8:59 and they closed at 9:00. I openly suggested they just put ONE E string under the door they they’d locked a minute before closing. The string was something like 2.13 cents. I even offered three bucks so they could leave a note for the people in the morning, on the books, that they’d helped out another player. I needed that string and had a gig that evening. They wouldn’t do it! Yes, they actually turned away sales that evening. It wasn’t a big deal. I even gave them a way out. But oh no, for Pete’s sake, their books would have been off that nite! Hmm, kind of sounds like I had that problem figured out from the beginning, myself. Who knows, perhaps the battle of the bands were playing for little old me and maybe they thought they would get an edge! I don’t know I don’t care. Of course they weren’t playing (the battle of the bands) but it just reminds me of the way things used to be and the way things are now. Ain’t that a shame.
Good service
Customer service is always great.
Still not open I need microphone’s and professional music gear .from pics to guitar maintenance etc.! I have go to Memphis to get guitar pics!!
I think I was sold a Fake or Counterfeit Squire Classic 70s Vibe Jazz bass. The same excuse for a person who tried to sell me a Les Paul with the head snapped off LOL! He didn’t surprised but I very disappointed with the guy who rung up the sale.
I arrived in the store. Waited for worker. Instead of helping me (someone his race came in after me) he waited on them, was demeaning, then tried to sell me a $400 mic.
I am going online now. Same mic they had for $289, found for $216 with free shipping.
Wonderful violin shop with great luthiers, excellent selection of instruments in a wide price range, and phenomenal customer service. They were extremely helpful and took great care of me, and my viola, when I was in town on a trip.
I could not be happier with LR Violin. We’ve been with them for years, from a lease as my son began his cello work to our first cello purchase for his work as a music education major. They have always been so patient and helpful, and when his brand-new bow broke in the first week, they worked with us to get a replacement without any hesitation, giving us full credit toward the purchase of the next bow we picked. Wonderful service.
I love that there’s a local place to have your stringed instruments adjusted and usually while you wait. My only complaint is that they charged me two different prices for the same service. My family is new to violin lessons and the instrument, so I can’t be absolutely sure that there was no difference…but there should be a uniform price for tuning/restringing a 1/4 sized violin. The staff is very courteous and informative. They also have a list of great string instrument instructors.
Unique violin shop

Nice place, jam packed full of records, very organized. I found exactly what i was looking for. They also have players so you can listen before you buy. Owner was very nice and informative.
Great service
My daughter loved it, lots of good CDs and a bigger cassette section than most. Well organized
I’ve now visited this little old store twice and spent a good bit of my time just trying to absorb the amount of stuff there is crammed inside. Been-Around Records & CD’s offers an ample selection to satisfy most of the potential customers that walk through the door. Not only is there selection, but the service is wonderful. The owner seemed very eager to help me find what I was looking for upon me asking, but he also just let me get down to the nitty-gritty and dig through the plethora of, DVD’s, CD’s, cassettes, and vinyl to my heart’s content.
That said, the main thing that bothers me is the overall visual experience. Upon entering, one will see that is an absolute cluttered mess! I believe the owner could generate a lot more traffic and increase revenue if he would simply take a day off to clean the place out of all of the distractions, such as the records piled in droves on the floor taking up much of the walking room, the hanging Christmas lights, and all of those empty cassette cases at the register. If he wanted to go above and beyond, it would also be beneficial to better organize the vinyl records, as it is initially rather confusing to find what you are looking for and literally requires an explanation of how it is set up.
Small and cluttered. I was looking for vinyl records. He seemed to have mostly 70s music. Did not have anything I was looking for. The good thing about this place are the prices. You actually get a deal here unlike a different record store in LR we visited.
Been-Around records is nothing short of a cultural institution in Little Rock. Though John, the proprietor, is far too humble to own that claim. Over the decades, it has been a constant source for rare finds reasonably priced. More significantly, it has intentionally curated music of importance that would have been inaccessible before digital distribution. I found records on my last visit that were unexpected. I was surprised to see that the prices were much more reasonable than the current bubble of vinyl prices. It may take longer than expected to find something. But it is worth digging to find buried treasure.
So the times say 10am-6pm but…I get here at five and it’s closed, kind of disappointed.
This place is a mess. A lot of vinyl albums but most aren’t worth wasting your time looking through to find a mediocre find. Lots of records just laying face down and stacked. Loads of records behind stacked records. Just a place of disarray.
Shop was closed when i turned up within the opening hours. I will not be returning. Difficult to park there fyi
I met Evelyn on the phone after discovering her website online. She is extremely kind and trusting and just the kind of person you would want to work with to grow along spiritual lines…her awards are listed on her homepage-she’s really someone I look up to after just a single conversation!

Absolutely the best experience I could have asked for
The A-Team spot is a innovative creative hub for artist, professionals, entertainment, sports and community leaders. With annual events such as the Democratic Black Party voter registration drive and Parking Lot Show featuring National Recording artist mixed with local amateur artist ready to take the world by storm. A professional photo session can be done on-site: book ahead of time, the price won’t break the budget, lighting included, back-drop, included, the only thing missing is (you). The summer basketball tournament is held every year in the Southwest Little Rock area and both genders are encouraged to participate. If you have skills this event is perfect way to practice skills an fundamentals before the school year begins. If your not into sports check out the food truck vendors serving vegan treats, pork bar-b-que, desserts, hamburgers, lemonade, and many more treats. The pop-up shops change from year-to-year but its worth the wait. A “Pillow Talk,” radio show is broadcast over live stream every Thursday night a topic on relationships & sex you don’t want to miss. Okay. One of my favorite shows is, “Sauce it or Toss it,” an audience review radio live evaluation each artist is judged by a group of (peers)/(listerners). The list is full of new releases and old jams ready to get back in circulation. Dj’s are welcomed too! Don’t forget to sign the wall.
