Acoustic Ranch is the real deal. He has awesome equipment and a laid back style that allows for expression and creativity. He took our input during mixing and really got a great sound.
Great place to go for musical instruments and accessories. The staff is really great too!
Had a very good time at the store, and the employees were very nice
Bought my first electric guitar here, had some tuning issues so i came in, they helped without question and provided helpful information and technique
Asked about where to repair my amp, told him I had it looked at by a local sound guy that has been repairing amps for decades(including four of mine, which I was very happy with) but wasn’t sure if I wanted to return it to the factory to be refurbished. The guy behind the counter(the manager) took that opportunity to bash the guy I went to(pretty excessively), and try to convince me his amp guy would be better than having it factory refurbished. It was rude, unprofessional and I’m doubt I’ll ever be back in the store.
I went in tonight around 6pm to pick up some bass strings. When I walked in, I asked for recommendations on bass strings, as I’ve only bought guitar strings before. The man working there didn’t even come fully out from behind the counter to assist me and made a rude comment when I jokingly asked “What strings does Geddy Lee use?” (The bass player from Rush.)
Honestly, it’s not about the bass strings, the inability to walk fully from behind the counter, or the rude comment and attitude. It’s the fact that I’m trying to support local businesses, and EVERY TIME I go to this store, I’m treated as if I’m an inconvenience.
At Guitar Center, I’m always treated with respect and courtesy. It’s making it really hard for me to want to keep supporting this business when I know that I’ll be treated better somewhere else. A small dose of customer service goes a long way.
If they pretended they were happy to see me just once, it would make a difference. I wear the store’s t-shirt, for crying out loud.
Pretty cool…!!!
Good music store but don’t sell them your musical instruments – they value everything on ebay and offer you less than 10% of its value. Offered me $50 for a very old German violin which I sold on craigslist for $800 which was about the value of the instruments I could see them looking at to compare against on ebay
Had good experiences in the past here both buying and selling but chose to offer me $200 for $1500 worth of bass gear. At least guitar center offered me 50% of the total worth. Avoid if you are selling. If you are buying check EVERYTHING over as much of the wind instrument stock has issues.
EDIT: Went back last week to trade another guitar. The salesperson claimed that the neck was twisted (so they of course couldn’t buy it) which was debunked later by a good luthier. I really want to like this store but they don’t employ honest people.
Seeminly not kid friendly. Employee was not ok with my child holding a guitar, even with 2 adults supervising him. Told us it was ‘too nice’ and redirected us to a wall with guitars priced the same amount. Really discouraged him and we felt too uncomfortable to continue shopping and left. Post signs to not touch or ask for assistance if you have this problem. We’ll continue my son’s musical journey elsewhere.
Edit: i was only just notified of your response. My friend and I are baffled that you’re saying we would talk about smashing a guitar. Especially after stressing to my son that we have to be gentle and careful with them. That is digisting. I handed him the guitar because that was one of the ones that caught his eye because it was in his favorite color. Imagine that, someone liking the color of a guitar and choosing their first one because of that. We also did not immediately walk to the back of the store. We looked at symbols, then bass guitars. My son was in a wagon because he had a broken leg and couldn’t walk. Which meant that guitar was on his lap, in a safe position, again surrounded by adults. I didn’t want any help by your other staff because we felt uncomfortable, as I stated before. My friend was looking for the things he was looking for. They were not the same thing that my son and I were looking for. It’s ok, though, because my son and I purchased a $1200 guitar at a different location, and he’s been taking his lesson seriously as well as taking very good care of it.
4. Boomer Music Company
Address: 3761 S Mason St, Fort Collins, CO 80525 , Laporte , Colorado , United States
The staff is all really nice. They always are there to help you with instrument purchases and plans for renting.
They are very nice, approachable, and helpful.
Great place, great customer service. Really wish there was more parking. I know the lot is shared, there really should be spaces reserved for the music customers and not just the coffee shop clientele.
Fair and resonable top notch repairs cleaning etc
Boomer music seems to be a decent place for instruments. We went for a percussion set (bells+snare+ stand.) when we first arrived there was this awful smell from the overcrowded amount of people, and nobody was willing to help, and when we were, we were told that the “bell kit” costs $400 and the “snare kit” costs $400. Sounds way overpriced
Especially considering that normally this would cost around $400 for a full percussion set, not $800. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the Amazon percussion kit costs around $300. Overpriced for the amount.
Find an alternative place! Owner is not reasonable businessman. Zero stars if there was one.
Go anywhere else but here!! They quote times for repairs that are so far off. My daughter has waited for her instrument for a month (when it was estimated to take 2-3 weeks) and they just told me another 2 weeks.
They told me I didn’t need instrument insurance for normal wear and tear, and then stung me with the bill that was equivalent to insurance anyway.
This is not the only music place in town….go find another place!
We made an appointment to get our bari sax looked at and to get it repaired and drove 3.5 hours to the store when we got there we were told oh no we have to put it in a bag and let it set in our store 5 days then we can look at it and decide if we can fix it or not. that was never told to us on the phone before we made the drive. the person was a total jerk and could careless about or sax I would never recomend using boomer music for any work they just dont understand the meaning of customer service

I’m very unfamiliar with the banjo, Rooster had me in and out in about 10 minutes with a fixed up banjo and a new tail piece for a great price, I would highly recommend
Beautiful banjos and a community dedication that can’t be beat.
Spotlight Music is much better than Guitar Center. They take the time to get to know everyone that comes through the door, and the time put into every order really shows. I’ve been going to Spotlight for over 10 years and they are yet to let me down. If you’re in Fort Collins, go here!
Came here to buy string and polish, ended up jamming on some nice guitars. Also they have an awesome lay away. This place was awesome. Beesre of their cosignment guitars though
They are way over priced, but the new strate, prs, and most of the used guitars are priced very reasonably. Love this store
Fantastic to buy from. I purchased an electric guitar with a floating tremolo system and asked for it to be set up and tuned to d standard – it was perfect! Highly recommended and will buy from again. Prices are fantastic and customer service was excellent.
I’ve got a Breedlove Stage Pursuit, 7 years old, played nearly an hour every day. Prob needs some setup by July 1 for getting back on-platform at Timberline Church. Do you have a tech available (a number of guitar stores – including Guitar Center – say they don’t have one anymore) who could do the work? Would love not to have to drive up to Cheyenne or down to Denver. Thanks.
nice selection of guitars and equipment ,and associated equipment … of string’s piks & suff!
The atmosphere is friendly, and this is clearly not a corporate chain establishment. Unfortunately, they no longer carry Taylor guitars.
.
These people are the biggest rip-off artists in the world.
Selling defective guitars and equipment. ..
These are all factory seconds, and cheap cheap cheap Chinese knock offs…
Called to ask about violin lessons for my 8 year old. They gave me the number to their teacher. Said she would return my call within a couple days. 8 days later I got a call and set up a lesson. I arrived at the lesson with my very excited 8 year old 10 minutes early. Katie (the teacher). NEVER showed up. We walked away with a very sad 8 year old and a PISSED mom. NEVER will I shop or recommend this store. Awful experience!!!!!!
Flea markets have better warranty support
Cable companies have better customer service
Any Questions?

I’ve got an 1893 M.Hohner Harmonica that’s been needing some work. After contacting just about every music store in the Fort Collins/Northern Colorado region, I found absolutely no one who could help. Finally I was referred to ZEN HARMONICAS created by Graham Elliot. I left him a message and he got back to me almost right away. Not only was he able to work on it immediately but he did an excellent job cleaning and adjusting it. In less than 24 hours my harmonica was ready to be picked up. It is in AMAZING shape. It has never played or felt this good. Graham was super friendly and very insightful and knowledgeable on the instrument (hard to come across folks like this) and the price was absolutely reasonable for the repairs. I highly recommend contacting Graham Elliot if you have any harmonica issues or need any customizations, he is suited to fix all types of harmonicas; old or new.

Bought our used Grand piano here over 5 yesterday ago. Very happy with the service and years later our piano is awesome.
Highly recommend Mike, not only did he find us a great piano at a great price, he is always responsive and accommodating for service as well. Thanks Piano Dude!
Mike was wonderful. He was super easy to work with and I didn’t have to worry about the thing. The quality piano he delivered was MUCH cheaper than other piano stores in town. I’m enjoying playing christmas carols now. 🙂

Hope is the BEST!! We went in to pick up school band supplies, and accidentally left without our practice pad. The next day Hope called to let us know, and even personally dropped it off to our house on her way home from work! Talk about exceptional customer service. Thank you, Hope!! We appreciate you!
Great store with a pretty good selection would recommend got my Scarlett 2i2 at a really good price although they did not have any of the XLR cables I ordered those on Amazon so no big deal.
This place is so awesome and the workers there are so kind. The manager, Dan helped me find the perfect keyboard and microphone for me!! It was a great experience and I will definitely be back, i recommend anyone that’s looking for any musical items to Music and arts!
The staff are nice & know their products.
Got a speaker that came without a charging cable for some reason. They gave me a new one. One of the employees even went above & got a part I was looking for. Out of curiosity & to have something in the store. No problems with the store whatsoever. And I’m a hard please Lol
The store was fine but we had to order online and they have the absolutely worst customer service EVER!!! They are rude and zero customer skills!!!! Do not I repeat do not order from them online!!!!!!!! You will regret it!
The store personnel is great and very helpful. However be wary of Music & Arts rental billing policy. I attempted to return a rented instrument no less than 5 times during March and April 2020, but the store was unattended. I called the store no less than 20 times as my credit card continued to be charged in April, May and June. I stopped payment from my credit card and after returning the instrument in July they are expecting payment for July as well. This is unreasonable policy and I suggest renting your equipment elsewhere.
The local store staff was nice, but the main office/customer service has been absolutely horrible to deal with. We tried to return a rental instrument in early June 2020, and the storefront was closed–despite the incorrect signage on the door stating their COVID hours and availability. The phone would just ring and ring with no message about closure. We tried 5 different times to return the instrument before were supposed to be charged again. Upon the 2nd try to return with no luck, I reached out to the main company customer service number. No answer…then I submitted a request through their website to be contacted with my information and the situation regarding trying to return the violin. Never heard back from them. However, after being charged for the following month, I put a stop payment on my credit card. Then, they kept sending me bills. I continued to call and follow their instructions to protest the charges. I even had photo evidence from each time I tried to return when the store was supposed to be open, but it was actually closed, each conversation that I had with someone in the management office, each email that I sent. It didn’t matter…the company said they would send me to collections. I recommend that you NEVER rent or purchase anything from this scam company. It is not the amount of money lost which upsets me….it is the horrible business practices, service, and disregard I have received from Music and Arts.
14. Guitar Center
Address: 813 E Harmony Rd, Fort Collins, CO 80525 , Laporte , Colorado , United States
Wow! My Guitar Center experience was exceptional. I was looking for an electronic drum kit and was helped by the most amazing young man, Joel. He is an expert percussionist and his advice was wonderful. I could not have done it without him. He also called after the purchase to make sure that everything was going well and that we were happy with the purchase. What amazing service. Thank you so much, I will definitely be doing more business with the Ft. Collins Guitar Center. 🙂
Decent prices and helpful staff.
Very helpful.
Good selection of “common” instruments, but they don’t really take care of what they have on display.
Was going to buy a guitar but they don’t seem to care about people getting into the store!
Store was in a tizzy, less than a stellar staff, tried to talk me in to a “bag full of harmonicas”?
Horrible customer service. I spent 2100$ expecting to enjoy buying my new drum set! Not walking away wishing I would have gone somewhere else.
15. The Pitch Black
Address: 617 10th St, Fort Collins, CO 80524 , Laporte , Colorado , United States
I rarely review places, but my buddy and I had the most pleasant experience with Jason and his record store! Super knowledgeable and welcoming. The store layout is awesome and the pricing system is unique and great. Offered us leftover seltzer waters from an event the night before and told us we could hang out and listen to music any time. Truly a great experience. Every time I come up from Denver, I know I’ve got a great place to stop and shop! Thanks, Jason! I’ll be back!
Awesome store and awesome owner

Excellent repairs done on my Martin guitars! Couldn’t recommend more highly!
This is a full service actual Lutherie shop, capable of international caliber work. Authorized for factory warranty on Taylor, Martin and more. Quality, solid, serious work. Quality Custom instruments as well. Be patient. Recommended. Chris Cecil @ Cecil Electronic / Global touring U.S..
Keith DJ’d my niece’s wedding. He was very professional and did exactly what he said he would do. Very happy with him. His band, Daddy Rab performed for a friend’s private party and they were a lot of fun. I think he does a good job as a DJ and band member. I would reccomend him, did reccomend him, to family and friends.
