Very helpful staff. Enjoyable experience buying my daughter’s first guitar
Great GREAT music shop. The staff is amazing and helpful. Amazing ukulele selection!
The store takes Covid-19 safety seriously. I mean SERIOUSLY. They have some of their merchandise behind barriers, but are happy to help you look at anything you are interested in. I applaud them for their extensive efforts. Not many retailers in Bay County have gone to such measures. They are exercising safe Covid-19 measures, and continue to treat their customers like family. Can you imagine if the entire community took even half of these steps to insure customer (and employee) safety? I would like that. Thank you for doing all you have done during these strange times!!
Very disappointed in the two salesman. Didn’t care if I bought a guitar or not. Very poor attitudes. Not interested in me at all. I was being friendly and told them that I couldn’t play very good and I have bought a guitar from them in the past. I finally asked them to think about one for me and call me back. I said do you want my phone number and he dropped a pad and pen in front of me. My friend who was with me said I don’t think they want your business. Iam 64 from Atlanta and just wanted a guitar while I was visiting my daughters. I’m a retired paramedic firefighter and those salesman need help.
I have been visiting this store for years. It has been a must stop when in Panama City. I stopped in today and found the usual great selection of instruments and accessories. I played a nice Fender P Bass today and practiced for the first time 4 new contemporary Christian tunes I will be playing at my home church next weekend. The store was not busy and I didn’t see anybody wanting to get where I was playing. I was shocked when after the second time through my 4 songs I was asked if I was going to buy the bass I was playing. I said no explaining I was playing these songs for the first time in preparation for next weekends service. I was asked to stop playing to make room for other customers. So I stopped playing and purchased a pack of music flash cards, which I found when walking through the store. I mentioned to the guy that asked me to stop playing that I play like this at Sam Ash and Guitar Center stores across the country and they welcome me coming in to play and I have never been asked to stop playing until today. Having bought a guitar, mixer, speakers and other accessories here before, I left the store wondering if I will return again after today’s experience in the not busy store.
Gemini AS211SP for the price it’s awesome. It’s all you need for around the house or jamming with your buds. I sincerely recommend this little gem. For the price you can’t go wrong.
Called to ask if they had two common guitar items in stock, and was promptly told they do not carry those items. Stopped by an hour later to find they did have them in stock. While brousing the store more than half of thier merchandise is packed up (bare shelves), and I was instructed by the staff not to touch anything I was not going to buy.
Unacceptable Service! It seems as if they just rather be closed, and don’t want any one comming in to shop. Ridiculous.
In the past I have did a lot of business with this store .They have had great prices the owners was always nice to me until this past Saturday when I went to purchase a powered speaker I was given the wrong speaker and told by a employee that to take it if I didn’t like that I could bring it back and he had away around the 20% restocking fee he knew that wasn’t what I wanted when I returned it I still got charged be the manger said the speaker wasn’t in the same shape and the box wasn’t there but his employee took the box and the speaker was still in the plastic be careful when dealing with the Panama City location
Went to buy my daughter a ukulele.
Staff was rude and basically had to wave my hands as if in danger to get anyone’s attention.
Tag clearly stated that on ukulele came with a case.
We were told in order to get a case one needs to spend hundreds on a more expensive ukulele.( even though the tag clearly said includes case.
Seemed as though every customer that came in was a big sigh from the employees and a what do you need from us attitude.
I will never buy from here. That’s all it takes for me.
Would have liked to keep it local.

Awesome staff.. Very knowledgeable. Clean store and fair prices. Will come back for any music related needs for sure
Great and very very helpful
Playground is THE Best! Wonderful customer service.
I had an amazing first impression days ago, but today was all the contrary.
They make me feel really bad as a person.
Never judge a book by its cover.
Local favorite. Been there as long as I can remember. Never been inside but had my share of poor boy window shopping dreams.
Very knowledgeable and professional
I’ve had a few dealings with this establishment over the past 10 years and overall am not very happy. The first time, I had them refurbish my wife’s mid-level flute, which I believe they contracted out to another location in the FL panhandle. The service rendered it playable again, but the technician scratched the silver in a few places. More recently we rented a French horn from them for my son. After a year, they would aggressively solicit us by phone and text to upgrade the rental to a nicer horn (at a rate of over $150/month). They continuously addressed me by the wrong surname and/or salutation even after I offered corrections. Furthermore, they mislead my wife and I about the credit we would acquire through rental towards the potential purchase of an instrument. This benefit is extremely limited and restrictive! The guys working in the shop were nice and helpful, so I have to believe that all of this is really an issue with management/ownership. That said, I can’t recommend them as a good music store.
Update: Thank you for your response. Just to clarify, I understand the cost of these instruments quite well. My wife and I just do not feel like a 7th grader is worthy of an instrument that retails for roughly $5-6k and felt that the sales calls were far too pushy. With regard to the flute incident, this happened many years ago, and I did reach out to you by phone. I was transferred to the repair technician, who explained that the cause of the damage was difficulty in disassembling the keys. No offer was made to polish or repair the scratches at that time, and I’m not even sure if this could be realistically done.
I have called Lamar’s person # that was given. me by the school Numerous times, as if this date, I have not received any form of response. Initially we went to band night ordered starter kit. Finally ended up going to Metro Music. They were very helpful. I now have everthing needed.
So bad my child had to experience a bad start to something that is so wonderful . Go to Metro Music, or their other affiliates, you’ll be happier.
Accounting department is lacking. Starting with their company rep incorrectly completing Rental Agreement, billing errors (which I called to correct), followed by their text messages threatening repossession without the courtesy of a phone call has led yo more headache than it’s worth.

Me and the rest of my whole band class (which is like 300 kids) all come here to shop for repairs, Reeds, and any kind of marching band gear. It’s always a great experience here with their cool layout of all the instruments available for you to test. I know many people who rent their instruments here (including me) and have all found the quality to be rather good (I got my instrument rented for cheap and it looked like one of the more expensive rentals so that was nice)
Great store, great product, great prices and great people. I sent back some online stuff ( PA & guitar) I had bought. I dealt with Cameren and Bobby. Forget Musician’s I’m-not-ur-friend. This is where you need to go. Buy Local!!
Best place to go in town if you need your guitar repaired.
They have everything for the muscian: sheet music rental and step up horns and strings and sound equipment.
This is a great place to go in and take a guitar off the wall and just sit around and pick a bit. The selection is limited premium instruments. They have a lot of beginner level guitars Services always great prices are fair staff is very knowledgeable. The service is the way I want it if you need them they’re available if not they just leave you alone and let you admire the instruments
Sure, it’s not the most luxurious or comprehensive music store in the world, but as a student who uses their products and services regularly, it’s hard to complain. Plus, their employees are great. It’s really a joy to shop here. 4 stars mainly because of their size and appearance – without the sign, it would look abandoned from the outside! Something for them to address in the future.
Didn’t have what I wanted.
Just attempted to “buy locally” as their sign says outside. Drove from out of town to add subs to a system I had bought from them years ago. Today was a horrible experience in customer service and more proof why local business fails when they don’t take care of the customer. I patiently stood in the store 10 minutes while 1 employee walked by me twice and two others sat at a counter. I had time to look up both subs I was interested in online and get pricing. I told the guy at the counter to be sure and let them know I attempted to buy local and it failed miserably. One guy then proceeds to come outside and try to stop me while I’m driving away. The same one that kept sitting there. Maybe that energy should have been used while the customer with cash in hand was actually standing in your store.
Went to the store in person to rent equipment for school. The salesperson told me to do it on line instead, this was on a Friday. I tried 30 minutes after leaving the store and the website for rentals was down . It stayed down all weekend and into Monday. On Monday I called and asked to reserve what we needed and they could not do that over the phone. We just drove back up there to find out they are now out of the kits we needed.
12. Guitar Center
Address: 2415 N Monroe St Suite #600, Tallahassee, FL 32303 , Liberty County , Florida , United States
The staff are super nice, and will do just about anything to help you. Their guitars are great and have pretty cheap prices when you look at other stores. I love this place. It’s also pretty much my second home.
Great place to rent musical equipment
Doesn’t carry anything but things you need for a guitar
I debated between 3 and 4 stars. The staff is very friendly however I felt like I had to talk them into upselling me items for a new guitar.
The store could use some help from a clutter and display standpoint. It looks more like they are having a Going Out of Business Sale than an actual fully functional business. I would definitely shop here again but they should make the place a little more presentable.
Perfect place to waste away a few hours
T don’t buy equipment at this time. I was highly disappointed.
theres a young rude kid who works here almost cussed him out…
Waited 15 minutes. Even flagged an employee. Nobody helped.
