Dave is awesome! He really knows his stuff, he is a natural teacher and is very friendly and great to be around. It doesn’t matter if your brand new or have played for years he can make you a better player.
Canon City is lucky to have him.
Dave is truly the best guitar instructor in the region. He directs instruction to the musical genre preferences of the student and provides hands on learning as well as solid theoretical constructs. Both my son and I take lessons from him and have had a lot of fun and skill development under his tutelage.
Super nice dude.Very accommodating as and knowledgeable helping me out while I was passing througb

Very high quality recording studio. Also the engineer, Reece is is one of the coolest and hardest working people that I know!
Professional and honestly really fun, all of my sessions so far have been home runs
Reece is super professional to work with and is an incredibly attentive, caring, detailed, charismatic and compassionate person to collaborate and solve problems with!
4. Meeker Music Inc
Address: 624 N Tejon St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 , Lincoln Park , Colorado , United States
I just recently purchased some top of the line strings and extra thick picks for speed picking while shredding the fret board like none other can do. It’s close to home and I think it’s a family owned business. At least that’s the vibe I get when I go in for strings. Like in one of a familiar type. Not alienated. So I feel comfortable there. They don’t have a huge selection of equipment. I’m sure they can order anything you were in need of. They do have some nice classical guitars that they don’t mind if you play them. There is a sound proof guitar room where you can pick up an electric and crank the state of the art amps they have in stock. Cool place and never crowded. I’ll be going there in the future as well I’m sure.
The customer service was super
They always have a good selection to choose from and are very pleasent.
Ok nothing dif. Reservations ,really?
The people are knowledgeable & friendly. Hats off to Sara.
Nice staff, good selection of basics. If your looking for high school band stuff you’re good hardcore rock or band not so much.
Please fix the hours. The google open hours and actual hours don’t match.
Purchased a Yamaha flute with a rebate. Rebate never came.
Been using Meeker since 1997 & four children all having played band instruments. This was the first time that the staff was incredibly rude. Very disappointed.
5. Music Go Round Colorado Springs
Address: 410 W Fillmore St, Colorado Springs, CO 80907 , Lincoln Park , Colorado , United States
Easy to find, handicap friendly though the aisles are a bit tight, we brought in our music gear to sell and we got a very good deal on them, they understood properly the value of our gear. Will be returning here.
Better than Littleton or Aurora. Worth the drive.
These guys are awesome. I’ll NEVER go back to Guitar Center again. The employees really try to give you the best deals and the best information they can, and they’re so friendly. Highly recommend to anyone looking to sell, buy or trade!
Website says you can rent instruments at Music Go Round, walked in and you can’t. Nice employees though
Very quick and easy service selling my used instrument. My only gripe is the cut they take (approximately 30%).
Good selection of used and vintage gear
October 2019 Sold me UNDISCLOSED DAMAGED equipment online through the Internet. They packed it extremely well. Shipping box was not damaged in anyway So it was damaged when they packaged it October 2019. They did offer refund but they’re not willing to pay the shipping for their product that was damaged (MY LOSS) Always verify the physical & working condition with your own eyes “never take a salesmans word for it“… I’m the Fool… other than that “LOVE MUSIC GO ROUNDS”!!
Total lack of professionals. Wanna get overpriced equipment come on on in. Nothing personal
Not helpful
6. The Prospect Heights Mercantile Store
Address: 1345 S 4th St, Cañon City, CO 81212 , Lincoln Park , Colorado , United States
Took my truck there for some exhaust and trans work. They had my truck done by the next day. Everything was spot on and weren’t pushy on trying to sell me things that weren’t needed.
Personable, quick, and efficient.
Great guys, honest workmanship and talented mechanics.
Good service and decent pricing.
New owners are great.
Good place to get your car fixed
Go so.ewhere else
I have known the new owner for some time. Was disappointed in the results of our last repair. We had trouble with the brake peddle loosing pressure. We stated we thought the master or a slave was bad. Should have been a half day repair. The brakes were bled and was told it needed rotors and pads to fix the problem. Not something that has anything to do with hydraulics. Of course didn’t fix the problem. Replaced the brake booster, still not fixed. Replaced the master cylinder and finally working. The first thing I mentioned. Five days later and 1400 dollars in the whole we get the truck back. By the way the rotors and pads cost about 900 to have done and the Chevy dealer quoted me less than 500. Very nice family but make your own decision.
Don’t go in there, I think I talked with the owner, and he was being disrespectful to me and my wife, I wanted help with my fiat, and he said why did a buy a piece is Sh…t car !! How you gonna treat your costumers like that.., I asked him, when the car will be ready and he was like if you in a rush call 50 other mechanic shops, and see which one will help you you and you’ll come back to me! All this just in a phone call! WORSE SERVICE
9. Elledge Music Inc.
Address: 518 W Northern Ave, Pueblo, CO 81004 , Lincoln Park , Colorado , United States
I had a old Yamaha acoustic guitar with broken neck!! Took it in to see if it even could be fixed! They told me they’re plans for the repair.when it was done it came to $ 25.00 with new strings and they steamed it back to new !!!it plays like it never was broken!!!
Pretty dope little shop. They got a great tech and they are well versed in products. Shop local people, C’mon!
The guy working here was not able to help me with my woodwind instrument because he works mostly with string instruments but he was very kind and knowledgeable about the string instruments and after he answered all of my questions about string instruments he was able to refer me to the perfect person to help with me flute. They make high quality custom guitars, very happy with the service here and will return when I save up for my new guitar!
Just purchased a used piano first time at this business friendly staff seemed to have a large inventory of instruments
Fun music store….. unique classic place
Really nice man who’ll help you with anything owns this place. Been in Pueblo forever!
I called, and inquired as to whether he purchased instruments at his location. I am new to the area. He responded “that’s why I have a music store, to buy and sell instruments”. When I gave him my instrument model (custom Ibanez in wonderful condition), he responded again by changing his statement. He said “I have too many instruments, I only want to sell”. I don’t leave reviews often, but this seemed necessary for future shoppers here.
Be open when you say your open.
I visited this music store with my cousin as his banjo was fixed and ready to be paid and taken home, Also with intent to buy their Luna electric but 5 minutes after entering the store and testing the poorly tuned guitars and tuning them for the store i was told by Mike that we’re too poor and can’t buy anything so I need to leave the store as they are busy and they don’t want to have to clean the guitars anymore from people touching them, (there was no business even going on except for them walking around and watching me or sitting down waiting for a customer.) So my cousin and I promptly left without a word, came back with the cash to pay off the repairs and I told them they lost our business.
If you would like to be treated like a clumsy, dirt poor fool while looking for a new guitar then this is the place for you! Otherwise steer clear of this rude and hateful establishment!
10. Flipside Music
Address: 2231 S Platte River Dr, Denver, CO 80223 , Lincoln Park , Colorado , United States
This place is awesome. So many pedals!! Every Earthquaker device, I got a Spacial Delivery for my electric kora. Super funky
They have saved me many times with last minute rehearsal items I have needed!
Good inventory for a small place.
Pretty good store with decent prices
This store is one of Denver’s hidden gems! I walked in looking for a bass pre-amp… These guys blew me away with their knowledge and friendlyness. They definitely know their stuff. I’d recommend flip side to any bassist or guitarist for any needs except repairs( I don’t know if they do repairs, I didn’t ask, as I already have a guy for that…).
Overly expensive and also lots of homeless people hanging outside on the street near by. It’s a dump.
11. Affordable Music
Address: 104 Village Pl, Dillon, CO 80435 , Lincoln Park , Colorado , United States
One of the best record shops I’ve ever been to! Great selection, rare finds, good prices. True local gem.
Great selection of all records, CDs and all music related. Great customer service.
Surprisingly good 45 selection.
I’ve heard good things about it but I was upstairs at pug Ryan’s bar
Limited selection, average prices
Sells broken products. Very expensive.
Terrible customer service. Was out of town for a wedding – asked about return policy and he went on a rant about him being a small business and how he would only give store credit. He was very condescending and unprofessional
Owner is a racist. He harassed my friend for shopping while black , four times AFTER he bought a CD. We went outside and had to show the police his recite.
Great place to shop if you are worried someone is impersonating you. Don’t shop there if you are black, he might call the cops.
12. Scero Guitars
Address: 1913 Pioneer Rd, Pueblo, CO 81008 , Lincoln Park , Colorado , United States
Highly recommend. Louis is a super nice guy and really knows Guitars. Very helpful and great service.
One of the best sounding guitars I have ever played.
Great find! Brought my bass to Louis for a string change/set up and went home with a super player! So good to find a local, independent with the skills and care to help with such service. Thank you!
If I could turn back time, I would. Hand made guitars is thrown out there loosely by Louis… mostly CNC like the big Coorporate names. I was drawn to this Company because I read five 5 Star Reviews… huge regret after getting what I got from them. A 3 month project turned to a 6 month nightmare. Original plan was going to end with me driving down there on a weekend to personally pick up this “Handmade” Guitar which was going to make it that much more special. Received a couple of phone calls in between the 6 months to inform me about why this Build was taking longer than usual. I kept my cool thinking it would add to the experience on having to wait longer for “High Quality Top Notch Product”. The day finally came when I was asked to pay the second payment in full before shipping it to me. I did… I paid and waited. 2 days later, I received a text from UPS stating that my guitar had just been dropped off at the front door. “No Signature Required”… just left at the front door for the world to see. Being a busy busy single parent with work and everything in between, it took me about 3-4 days to finally Crack open that case with a sloppy stenciled spray painted logo to find a beautiful guitar with a handful of flaws. I reached out to Mr. Scutti but started making excuses about the Delivery Driver having dropped it during shipping blah blah blah. Long story short… I paid almost 3K for a horrible experience and having to make final adjustments to be able to play this man’s Guitar. I don’t even consider it. I played it a couple of times and got absolute ZERO inspiration. I have planned on taking the electronics and transferring them into a 30 Dollar Squier Tele I just got at the Pawn Shop and leave the 3K dollar nightmare hanging on the wall to serve as a reminder that there are still great salesmen out there. No hard feelings, only stating the facts.
13. Walmart Supercenter
Address: 3105 US-50, Cañon City, CO 81212 , Lincoln Park , Colorado , United States
Matt and Jeff are delightful. They both went out of their way to get what I needed in the bakery.
It’s a Walmart. They are pretty much the same wherever you go.
It’s Walmart what can you say
Is ok to shop after hours.
The staff in tv department are rude, and got groceries and most of the shelves are empty, don’t shop there go to Safeway and Kings Soopers and Best buy in Pueblo Colorado
This place really sucks seems every time we go there everybody’s in a terrible mood. At the customer service desk there’s only one lady who knows what she’s doing. And she’s not a customer service manager crazy huh.
I hate shopping at Walmart
14. Music Go Round
Address: 8055 W Bowles Ave #2C, Littleton, CO 80123 , Lincoln Park , Colorado , United States
Had some repair work done by Doug after being turned away by guitar center (after they’d had my guitar for two weeks). Not only did Doug fix it extremely well in less than a week, he did it for 1/4 of what Guitar Center estimated the cost and provided a warranty for his work.
Former employee here letting you know this is a really good spot to check out especially if you like guitars and used effects. The employees here are great and they make the store what it is! They are all super passionate about music and you can always bet on there being some good gear here.
Been shopping here for years. I’ve bought my guitars, most of my pedals, strings, MIDI’s, mixers, and microphones here. Great place to pick up used, quality gear. Store comes equipped with a knowledgeable and helpful staff.
Staff is a great bunch of guys who have a grasp of what’s what about musical instruments. It used to be a good place to sell your used appointment. I would give you a a decent price but nowadays they won’t even give you a price better than what a pawn shop will give you. I’ve noticed in last couple of years their prices have gone up. They don’t negotiate the prices, which puts customer at a disadvantage Because condition is a huge part in what you pay. I will still stop in and check their inventory. But not as often as I used to.
Very knowledgable and helpful
Its usually great. Had a terrible staff that I hadn’t seen before last time I went. I won’t go back.
Just leaving the store now! I was trying to get some more information on a couple different things in the store but despite their not being a lot of people in the store for staff did their best to not make eye contact or help me oh well!
Do not buy anything used. The warranty is only good for sore credit. They sell you something broken or on the edge of broken and then you can only get store credit. The staff is very friendly and helpful but the used products are poor quality and worthless. I lost $200 to this store. The USB midi port did not work at all, wouldn’t even turn on. The akai mpk-25 controller stopped working properly after one month. I took very good care of these items. I would not waste your time on this scamming “must-be struggling” establishment. Especially if you are serious about music.
Nice selection of instruments. Prices are on the high side for used equipment. But what really cemented my decision to never go back is that, of the five employees in the store, not one approached me to see if I needed any help. Save your time, money and effort. Go to a different music store.
15. The Denver Folklore Center
Address: 1893 S Pearl St, Denver, CO 80210 , Lincoln Park , Colorado , United States
A very nice collection of moderately priced instruments. Very knowledgeable staff. We’ll worth a visit if you’re looking for a new mandolin, guitar, banjo or whistle.
Wow! A superior customer experience in every aspect. I was searching for my first acoustic guitar. The internet and the big box music stores were just not hitting the mark. I needed more and found it at Denver Folklore Center. What I found were exceptional experts in all things string. The low key, individualized approach, guiding me through the broad selection of instruments and price points left me with several wonderful choices. Not being a guitar player, it was critical that they gave me the space to explore the instruments myself and allowed me hear the sound quality in the hands of an expert player. Once my desicion was made, they made sure the instrument was adjusted and maximized for my beginner playing ability. They suggested items to keep my guitar healthy and sounding great and just the right picks to enhance my playing success. I’m just starting my string journey and I’m confident that other guitars I purchase will be coming from Denver Folklore Center.
I’m writing to share my terrific experience with the staff at the Denver Folklore Center. I visited them to find a guitar with a different voice than my other acoustic guitars. The staff (Ian and Angus) took my input and pulled some guitar samples off the wall for me to try. Each sample helped me clarify what I was looking for sonically. It took 3 visits and on the last I bought a real prize that I’m absolutely thrilled to own. The staff knew their stuff shared their knowledge without being too involved. If you’re looking for an acoustic instrument you should definitely visit the Denver Folklore Center.
I haven’t been there in 20-30 years. It was always a good place for young hippie musicians and a counter culture gathering place. Always enjoyed going there. I’ve known the main guy there since I was a teenager (50 yrs ago).
We went in to try to find a mandolin. The store is smallish but selection is good. Very “buy something now or leave” vibe. We were able to get some questions answered by their seemingly knowledgeable staff, but the way we were treated made it difficult to find an instrument that might be a good fit.
Good knowledge folks
Terrible service and advice.
I’m musician on tour, passing through Denver, and I invited two of my bandmates to go to this shop with me. All three of us are professional musicians who live in the world of music 24/7 and are always in the market for instruments. After trying 3 guitars, one of them a resonator which I seriously considered buying, and 2 banjos, one of the employees came over and gave me a seriously dark look and told us not to “make a day of it.” I’ve never been as insulted in a store of any kind, much less a music store where trying out instruments is crucial. Maybe they have other priorities, but I was embarrassed, insulted, and disappointed. With all the competition from online sellers and stores like Guitar Center I am really surprised that they think treating the customers this way is viable. If I were in charge of this place, I wouldn’t necessarily tell my employees that the customer is always right……… but I would tell them that the customer does get to try out instruments to the degree that they want to, because you never know when inspiration will strike and that magic connection between a player and an instrument will happen……… and I would tell them that insulting the customers is a way to lose business in a hurry.
Worst service ever! Don’t go to this place for guitar help. Go for frustration and disappointment. They’re really good at providing that.
16. Redbox
Address: 912 Royal Gorge Blvd, Cañon City, CO 81212 , Lincoln Park , Colorado , United States
I took my violin to have it worked on after not playing for 30+ years, they were very helpful, honest, and professional, with very reasonable pricing, really happy to have discovered them.
Open! Clean and friendly, with knowledgeable staff.
Great selection, great service. Nice instrument’s.
Like always the services people were just great.
The people employees are professional, knowledgeable, and ready to help!
As with any store like this, you can expect them to be salesmen, though they don’t push too hard and don’t avoid helping you find the lowest priced items.
The technicians are great, but I wish they had a bit more enthusiasm.
If you are testing out brass instruments or such, the practice room they put me in had too much reverb to get accurate samples, even with a recording device. I have yet to ask if they had a more acoustically dry room.
They can order sheet music and products, and have all the basics and many accessories for band musicians.
There’s parking at the new location. Really reasonably priced supplies. Not the best selection for buying instruments though. Since their relocation, seems they’re putting more emphasis on instrument repair. Still probably the best music supply shop in the area
Went in to check out acoustic guitars earlier today. Got an important call as I was about to tune a guitar I was checking out and the guy behind the counter just starts blowing into some sort of wind instrument seemingly deliberately because taking a quick phone call. So I hung up the guitar and just walked out.
But the guy who welcomed me when I walked in seemed nice.
Just terrible experience! Purchased a new wood clarinet 5 months ago. Found out it was cracking, unfortunately happens if not taken care of, but not in the first 5 months.
Took 2+ months to fix, when we finally picked it up, some old guy in the store started telling my 16 year old daughter about keeping it greased every six months- lecturing her because it was so dried out! Finally stepped in and told him…we bought it here less than 5 months ago…in other words, you sold an old dried out clarinet for $2000.00. Will never ever step foot in this store again d/t the service dept.
18. Allegro Music
Address: 11475 Twenty Mile Rd Suite A, Parker, CO 80134 , Lincoln Park , Colorado , United States
Extremely welcoming place, very helpful instructors
Came in for my 1st time today. Didnt even know they were here. Cant recommend this store enough, and individually Andrew.. Very cool, intelligent, and personable guy. Very grateful to have found this place, and Andrew himself.
We love Allegro music! Andrew has been such a huge help as we got our son set with a guitar and all the essentials! My son has a million questions about everything, Andrew is always patient and willing to answer every one. Both my kids now take lessons at Allegro. You can feel the passion for music in this shop!
Idk its neat and my teacher is cool
The staff was easily the best feature of the store. They were very friendly and supportive in helping me understand their products and services. Not only do they sell instruments but they offer lessons and practice rooms too. The selection of used electric pianos was limited and the prices of new instruments was higher than what I could pay shopping online, but with services like rent-to-own (great rates) and such knowledgeable staff I will be a return client.
I suppose it couldn’t be personal, that would be silly. Some of the visits are just awkward and incomplete I suppose…
It’s a nice place, they just don’t seem to carry much for Ernie Ball electric strings. I’ve always had to wait and order even in the old store.
I’m sure y’all make bank on lessons anyway, not strings.
If there is an negative star I will definitely rate this shop. We rent two cellos for our kids for 9 months with their rent-to-own program, we had been told that we can use the rental equity purchase ANY music instruments. However, when we returned them the staff told us our equity should be used on those rental/used musical instrument, if we want to use them on something different, they will take 25% from our equity and they also sell us those musical instruments $100 more. I went to the store three times and every time I got different explanation on their policy. Can you imagine they sell an $500 used Yamaha student flute which costs only $200 on amazon? And an ukulele for $145? Come on! We paid about $900 rental just thought we can get something interesting for our kids when we return but it ends up we just got 2 cheap Yamaha junior guitars which Allegro charged $250 each (only costs $135 on amazon). Highly recommend those who plan to rent musical instruments from them to get an used one from Craigslist or Facebook marketplace.
Update 6/24/19
You are very welcome to post the policy I signed here, if there is any. If you told customer the equity can be used for “rent to own”, I don’t understand what is the issue when we really want to buy some instruments. The problem is you guys keep changing the words you say to your customer. You literally want to throw an used Yamaha 220 student flute to us for about $500, which the a brand new newer model costs only $480 on amazon, that’s a rip-off! And come on, we both know what quality your cello are, those just basic student cello which you can find the new one in amazon $250 each.
To those who want to rend musical instruments from Allegro, I suggest you do some research first on Facebook marketplace or Amazon, unless you do not care how much you paid. Their “rent-to-own” program will sell over-priced instruments to customers when they want to use the equity.
I wouldn’t shop there for anything except for guitar picks or something maybe not even that.
We are looking for a viola and came to your store today to purchase one. We walked in and there was 1 person in front of us and 2 others walked in behind us. We waited over 20 minutes as your worker kept helping everyone else that walked in behind us. Needless to say you guys just lost the purchase of upwards to $1,000. Too bad because you guys have some really nice looking Violas from the shelf.
19. ProSound Music
Address: 2235 Academy Pl, Colorado Springs, CO 80909 , Lincoln Park , Colorado , United States
This place is awesome, great service, awesome guitar selection, sweet bass selection, and I take lessons here every Wednesday, and currently I’m getting my guitar repaired here, and, so far, it sounds like it’s going good, if you play guitar, bass, or drums, prosound is a great place to go, even if you play acoustic guitar they have a nice selection of acoustic guitars, basses, and ukuleles at a good price.
Salesmen are knowledgeable but not pushy. You can try out many of their instruments. A fair music book library. They don’t do much for wind instrument side but they don’t leave you hanging; they recommend where to go.
Really good, genuine folks willing to share their time and knowledge to help you get what’s best. You can rely on them for expert repair work too.
Can find what you need.
Great staff always helpful and a great layaway plan
Well priced guitars and equipment. The people there were very nice and helped me find what i was looking for.
They have a terrible selection of drums, Their gear is as out dated as their staff who perseve themselfs as “rock stars”. They do not honor their own return policy, and try and talk down to you for finding better gear elsewhere. It’s pretty sad that they are forcing any serious musician to have to shop at guitar center. I will never go to this store let alone purchase from them again.
If you want to give away your money then go here. They can’t figure out our rental agreement to save there life. Bu the time they figured out how much longer we had on our rental we had the onstrument paid off and they kept charging us even after that. What a hastle.
The men in this place don’t seem that interested in helping women who come in to their establishment; we were completely ignored. I would recommend trying to find a place that doesn’t discriminate.
20. The Bean Pedaler
Address: 412 Main St, Cañon City, CO 81212 , Lincoln Park , Colorado , United States
Real great spot! My wife and I like coming here as the ambiance is different that the “chain” down the road. And a bar in the back? Really! That is clutch! Great coffee every time and good pastries/snacks as well! Highly recommended!
first time visiting friendly staff nice atmosphere good first impression
Coffee was good but the sandwich was very small for what they charge. I got 2 beers a margarita and chili fries for the same price as a little sandwich and a bag of chips elsewhere right after.
My daughter, who loves the Tomato Basil & grilled cheese sandwich, introduced me to The Bean Pedaler. My 1st Impression is : The atmosphere, real flowers, nice employees
Negative: Very Pricy, sauce on nachos
I got a Maple Spice Latte and it tasted like nothing. Only steamed milk and espresso… Very disappointed
They were rude they didn’t ask if I needed anything! They didn’t say please or thank you. There food is extremely overpriced and tastes like the cheapest food mix they buy. I would never tell anyone any good about this place.
Worst place iv ever been. And the coffee was terrible. Two people got sick and I tryed to call three times. I was hung up on twice and did not get a call back. Not to mention my coffees were terrible. It tasted like burnt milk, and it tasted rotten. I’m so mad and was just trying to get them know. But they pushed me under the bus. What terrible service they have. And the manager just wow. How disappointing. Will not go back or say to go to this place.
