Awesome little local music store with instruments for you or your kiddo! You can buy, rent, or rent to own.
They also have lots of sheet music, including all the books, reeds, ligatures, rosins, oils, cleaning kits and everything else you need to survive having a kid in band or orchestra.
They do repairs, and have guitar lessons on site!
Had just what I wanted and are open on Sunday.
Great music store! I have kids in different music programs and this store has had everything I’ve needed.
3. Guitar Center
Address: 2424 US-6 & 50, Grand Junction, CO 81505 , Loma , Colorado , United States
This review is mostly for the repair shop.
They did a great job setting up my 2009 Les Paul Studio (I purchased online “as is”). It was in real rough shape like totally unplayable and my wanting to switch to lighter strings didn’t help it. Fixed the hump in the neck, the most noticeable problem & adjusted everything else. The guitar now plays like new again set up with 9’s & with the Burstbucker Pro’s it sound’s frikin awesome!!!
It was done in 24 hours! I picked it up just after opening day after I brought it in.
The cost wasn’t bad, less than what I had expected.
The folks in this store are very cool but
honestly I’ve only purchased strings at the store, the prices are competitive & they’ve always had why I needed.
I don’t buy new guitars! never have never will.
Like many of you I haven’t had the best experience with Guitar Center online so I was kinda anxious about going to the Grand Junction store, but it’s a local store and they do a great job.
Brand new store yet very well stocked with a wide variety of instruments and decent accessories with more to come im sure.
The Staff was very helpful and seem to sincerely want to meet our needs and patiently answered all our questions.
The prices are reasonable with some exceptional savings on certain items, and a pleasant surprise they give Military discounts to Veterans and Active Members, Well done greatly appreciated !
And lastly, thus far all my purchases (bass, amp, cables, guitar stand, guitar strap, music stand and 2 instructional books etc.) have been of very good quality, the Ibanez bass is a stunning blood mahogany red with a beautiful gloss finish and crisp pick ups and sweet timbre.
Overall a great place for musicians to feed their musical interests.
Update 06/13/2023
Purchased a few more items
ProLine complete MIC PACK.
Comes with mic, mic cable, mic stand, and mic clip. Plus mic case and case for entire ensemble. Overall quality to price ratio is excellent. Passive mic so you will need an amp/ power source.
HARBINGER LV7.
7 channel mixer with Bluetooth. A lot of bang for the buck and lots of bells and whistles, nice pre-amp.
ZOOM B1Xfour.
Multi-Effects Prcoessor with expression pedal (for bass). Very user-friendly interface and good basic effects to begin with and you can program many more. Built-in Tuner which is very cool and easy to use and Built-in drum machine that has a nice punch and decent kick to it.
I love this place. They are open-minded, kind, friendly, and helpful. The staff is amazing! Christian is the best!
Read all of Guitar Center reviews, then go into the store. You’ll soon see all the negative reviews are true.
Horrible place. I’ll stick with the local music stores.

Very helpful, explained everything in detail and helped with finding an instructor 😉
I recommend these guys, they have a lot of options this way you don’t have to worry about standing outside of your budget.
A little bit of everything musicians need. The staff and other customers were friendly and helpful.
Drummer boy
Wow great staff, beautiful. Love the new instruments. Friendly staff, they allow you to play the instrument while being monitored to make sure it’s working correctly for you like I’ve never seen a place like this that’s just amazing.
These guys did a great job helping me set up a home recording studio Aaron was super helpful even though the store was packed full of people they do have a lot of traffic but they do take the time to walk you through your questions. Honestly I hadn’t picked up a guitar or a play the keyboard in over 5 years until I walked into the store now to daily thing love music
Bought a bass before I had a cell phone.
Was marked $1200, scratched out, marked $800, scratched out marked $600. Nice bass, thought it was a good deal. Missing hard case so got a soft case instead.
Found out later the retail price is $400.
Deceptive pricing.
Was sold a keyboard being told by the salesman it had a USB port to hook it up to the computer, write music with it and that it had touch sensitive keys. Wrapped it up as a gift for the daughter. When she opened it, we were telling her how she could hook it up to her computer and she was really excited. Then she started playing it, no touch sensitive keys or USB port. The very reason we bought it. So disappointing. We took it back, were told so sorry, our mistake. You can buy this one for 50.00 more that has everything you want and when you want to trade that one in, we’ll give you a great deal on it. We paid 172.00 for the keyboard at Harts music….I found it on Amazon, same keyboard for 99.00. Wish I would have checked Amazon first. Will not be going back to Harts Music totally took advantage of our ignorance in keyboards.
Not impressed! My first experience with this shop, I brought an old acoustic in for some setup work after I switched to lighter strings. I did a neck adjustment but still had e string buzzing and a b string ring. I needed a new nut, and & bridge adjustment, fret leveling too which I explained, but Jan absolutely is clueless I guess all he heard was “string change”. I have a bunch of guitars I can do basic work on them and I’ve been changing my own strings for 30 years! but Jan promised me a pro would look at it and contact me to discuss the repairs. They shined me for a week, never tried to contact me as I promised, then all they did was change my strings (and they even put the wrong ones on!). Now all the strings buzz! So I’m right back where I started. I’m local too & gave them every chance, they failed miserably.
Customer care is amazing here. Very knowledgeable.
Best guys for band stuff in Western Colorado or.Eastern Utah
Great people. Everyone is very knowledgeable and friendly. Fast turnaround on our grandsons trombone, when repairs have been needed.
Has all instrumental needs.
Sadly, the economy has taken a toll on this business. A streamlined version of its former self, therefore options on some products seem kind of limited. Still worth a visit and nice to see products in person versus online. Worth supporting local business to check them out. They had what I needed so we left happy.
Nice place, knowledgeable staff!!
Really expensive and very rude customer service.. they know they are the only music shop and they take advantage of all of us band parents… if you look on line you can find anything cheaper than them
Wanted to rent for a couple months before I purchased an instrument but was told that service only available to students.
Stopped in his parking lot (attached to Tequila’s restaurant, which I was a customer at) for 5 minutes because I ran into an old friend and the owner told us to get out of “his” parking lot. Thanks Roper music. Having a musical child, I will NEVER give you our business. How unreasonably rude of you!! And we were NO WHERE near the front of the building. Super uncalled for!

I’ve been taking lessons from Kelly for 3 years and I can play the guitar. He teaches a wide array of music including classical, rock, country and the blues. Kelly is good at adapting to your skill level and teaches so you can understand. His lesson are affordable and he can teach either directly or virtually. Stop wasting time like I did and get started.
I have been taking lessons from Kelly for about a year and I’m amazed at how much I have learned in just one year! He teaches music theory while you are learning the physicality of playing in a way that just clicks inside your brain. I highly recommend him!
