I made the mistake of not counting my change and was short change by $50.00
Great place for music lovers.. They also have movies and other stuff.
Cool store lots of good vinyls selection is limited
Called in today for an event i was excited to attend. The guy whom answered the phone was super rude. Till this day i dont understand how management allows employees to be super unprofessional with customer service instore and over the phone. Management needs to address this issue asap. Remember “employee who answered the phone” if it wasnt for us customers purchasing your products you wouldnt have a job. Its simple, put a smile on your face and get it together or dont work there anymore. Employees like you are reasons why you companys get bad reviews. Definitely not attending this event nor visiting this store.
Couldn’t even get in absolutely no parking
Do not order from this store. I ordered a RSD vinyl from their shop in April and I got an order confirmation and no emails stating that it had been canceled. I assumed I had the product I order and waited. Over a month went by and no updates so I tried to use the contact section on their site to inquire about my order. They never responded to both of my messages. I had to resort to using social media DM to reach out to get help. After taking way too long to check they told me that they sent me an email stating they didn’t in fact have the vinyl I ordered and that my order was canceled. I never received that email not in my spam or anything. Highly unprofessional and it seems like other people have left reviews stating they don’t ship their online orders. Buyer beware.
3. More Music LB
Address: 3736 E 7th St, Long Beach, CA 90804 , Long Beach , California , United States
Fabulous store, excellent customer service but best of all are the music teachers. I had never picked up a violin until well into my fifties but with my lessons I am enjoying learning how to play because of the excellent teacher I found here. It’s never too late to learn how to play an instrument and these guys have the equipment, guidance and support to open up a wonderful new world for you. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Hands down the best experience with buying your music equipment, every time I have questions they are all in and ready to help. If you haven’t gone, you really need to. Keep local music shops open!
More Music is a really cool place. The staff are very helpful, friendly & knowledgeable. Pedro Rodriquez has been working on my guitars for years. He has worked on my Strat, my Tele, my Dean flying V, and most recently, my Epiphone Les Paul. Always does a great job. For guitar repair, this is THE place.
Great service, kind and helpful staff, good lessons. I’m glad to have them in the neighborhood. My guitar was setup for cheaper than guitar center and played great
False advertising of equipment for sale
4. Bagatelle Records
Address: 260 Atlantic Ave, Long Beach, CA 90802 , Long Beach , California , United States
This is the kind of Record Shop that I love because everything u could possibly want is right here.
The Inventory is very impressive with Vinyl literally coming out of the ceiling & walls.
For me Bagatellle is truly Vinyl Heaven.
Hey! Just found Bagatelle Discos hole N dA Wall Records (Alantic Ave 260) Lot’s to see and enjoy! Take your time and Steve knows record’s and about old Long Beach.1st visit will be back soon.Thks B Safe!
Lots of original vinyl records and friendly staff.
The shop has a bunch of used records but seemed pretty disorganized. If your a classic rock type of person I would reccomend the shop. As a hip hop head, I was disappointed because there weren’t any at all. Prices are middle of the road, you could find cheaper but also pay more somewhere else. All in all the selection is decent, and staff was chill
Guillermo took care of my Gretsch hollowbody archtop rewiring.
The low price was unbelievable but the quality work was second to none.
Thanks guillermo.
Let me start out by saying these guys are awsome ! And the owner is a kind, honest, gental soul. This review is a little long but well worth reading.
So I recently accuired 2 electric guitars, that needed some work. So I started searching for prices and called 8 different shops. Then I found Long Beach Guitar whos price for a guitar set up was $40 to $100 lower than all the other shops I called. They also were the only shop that was even willing to look at my realy cheap guitar, no one else would even touch it. So I show him my nice Dean vendetta and it needed to be left for the repair and set up and it was going to be a few weeks wait. But thats ok, pro work is worth waitting for and good things come to thoose that wait. This was during COVID and the shop was full of guitars for repair. So, the cheap guitars missing part. He went over to his parts box and came back with a good used adjuster. Best of all he did not even charge me for the part, and no other shop would even look at this guitar and would charge for the part anyway. Then I got my Dean back after a few weeks and the set up was on point and so much eaiser to play. The guys even gave me a little education and I left with a big smile and some money left in my pocket. Then a year and a half later my B.C. Rich Warlock gain knob died and I was having trouble with my guitar tuner. So back to Long Beach Guitar I went and was greated with smiles and warmth as I walked in the door. I had already purchased a new knob, which I brought with me. And the electronics guy took a look and said I got the right knob. The thing is I needed it ASAP as I was going on a trip with it in a couple of days. On top of that it was at the end of their day. It would normaly take a couple of weeks, because when you are that good there is always a line of people in need of their help. With that explanation, his compation kicked in and he grabed the guitar and it was done just like that. At normal price no extra charge for the rush. No other shop would have done that right then and there because they are not compasionate about the individual person. I also asked a million questions and they answered all of them and took the time to teach me how to use my tuner properly. I could not believe how well I was treated, and you can tell they just truely want you to be happy:) They have all the knowlage you could need and awsome service. So if you want that warm fuzzy feeling you get from a Mom & Pop shop and do not want to over pay for work. Then look no more, Long Beach Guitar is my forever home and should be yours too.
PS: Do Not mind the bad reviews, you cant make everyone Happy. But they truely do try. Also 98% of the reviews are 5 STAR because they should be.
11/6/2023 9 years of service and I think they have got even better. Still the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice repair shop with great service and pricing!
I’m really pleased with their work. I pretty much took my electric guitar for a total make over (new p/u’s, rewiring) frets etc.) and had it back the same week. Maybe I got lucky but these dudes are pleasant folk and I will be back
Extremely careless damage was found all over my guitar after a setup. The same exact dent was made by three of the tuning machines, was one not enough? Very frustrating, the whole point of paying a professional is the peace of mind that nothing will go wrong. I would recommend taking your valued guitar someplace else
At this time I am retracting my negative review that I posted on YELP. I was upset and the resulting statements were a bit harsh. I apologise to the skilled employees of LB Guitar who have always done great work on my guitars at fair prices.. Rick Roche.
If you want a quality, on time, and professional job with honest people, DO NOT go here. They wasted so much of my time. They also claimed things were wrong with my guitar that they had to “repair” without my consent to squeeze extra dollars out of me. When I picked the guitar up the main concern of repair wasn’t even fixed. He gave me an “oopsies” sort of explanation. It’s purely ridiculous. You’re literally better off doing the work yourself or going to actual professionals. I have NOTHING good to say about my experience whatsoever.
6. Toxic Toast Records
Address: 757 Pine Ave, Long Beach, CA 90813 , Long Beach , California , United States
Good selection but overpriced. I bought a 7 inch that ended up playing really choppy. Probably won’t return.
A small but hip place to get records. They are a little bit unconventional, and expensive. The staff though a little odd, are very nice and know their music!
This store is closed for good.
**This is in reply to the owner’s comments. There was no sign indicating you were doing anything online. At least I didn’t see one.
If it’s the same company that posts on eBay, beware. They’ll post products on eBay. If they don’t sell for what they want, they’ll cancel the order, leaving the customer waiting for 2-3 days for a refund. Beware.
The owner of the store is rude and ridiculous is selling used CDs as new and resealing and retaping items reported to bbb riaa and discogs and eBay very rude and a liar mad because I am a collector/reseller you have been warned
7. Twelves
Address: 746 E 7th St, Long Beach, CA 90813 , Long Beach , California , United States
Great selection, honest pricing, lots of rare records. Mostly used vinyl, which means more of the hard-to-find stuff. Friendly staff, excellent place to dig.
My new favorite in LBC. Great shop with well-curated records in great shape at sensible prices. Always something great playing when you’re there and a great staff. Check out their IG profile for previews of their new arrivals. Great stuff!
Really good vibe and great records selection. I would recommend to any dj or just loving old school music.
Nice folks, good selection’ee and not insanely’ee overpriced’ee Found a few items that I had been looking for a fairly long time’ee.
Nice little record shop
All kind of music
8. Record Box
Address: 324 Elm Ave, Long Beach, CA 90802 , Long Beach , California , United States
Inxs and Bill Withers score so happy with my 1st visit.Def will return.Maybe even a new haunt ?
Great place
Fingerprints up the way doesn’t help this shop. Record box gas weaknesses and their all overshadowed but their better established, bigger, more better informed competitor, fingerprints
9. Gilmore Music Store
Address: 1935 E 7th St, Long Beach, CA 90813 , Long Beach , California , United States
for over a decade, Gilmore has been my go to music store; a convenient, no hassle, family owned business. located on the east side, Gilmore is the only music store that caters to all musicians, not just guitarists. for guitar strings and parts, Gilmore is always my first choice.
Awesome.
Me gusta este lugar encuentro siempre lo que busco
Nice collection
Expensive music instruments audio equipment! But their guitare picks are priced right and offer variety!
Most of the instruments you’ll find here is either second hand or chinese, don’t go in expecting sam ash level finds.
A little unethical .
Literally been three times. This place is never open. Ive called. Ive rang the doorbell. Ive banged on the glass door. Nothing. Spend your money somewhere that wont waste your time. 0/10
I was playing a song on the woodblock while having service to my guitar and the old guy in the back said I was ignoring him on purpose. He’s so cranky. I don’t want mean old scrooge grandpa to scold me. The store is over packed and cluttered anyway. Go to guitar center, they don’t get upset when an instrument is played. My mom has been supporting this business for years by taking me here. They’re overpriced anyway.
10. Third Eye Records
Address: 2234 E 4th St a, Long Beach, CA 90814 , Long Beach , California , United States
Really friendly and well informed staff. Will be my go to from now on!
Gary is a friendly a knowledgeable vinyl collector. Keeps his records and shop clean and in great shape. Just a lovely little record store to frequent.
My favorite record store. I purchase most of my vinyl here.
Cool store! Definitely nice to see some VHS out (my weakness and favorite thing to collect). However, they were blanket priced which was only cool because of The Changeling. But it is LA.
Cool old school selection. The guy working there was really cool as well
Fun store.
11. Music City Productions
Address: 150 South Pico Ave, Long Beach, CA 90802 , Long Beach , California , United States
Good job, nice entrance. Great customer service and thank you
Nice shop and nice people
Amazing customer service. Amazing workers. Sold my camera for a good price 🙂 thanks!!!
Great staff who have helped me keep my things. Popular things that others want.
I went to recover a gift not too expensive and they didn’t accept Cards only Cash
Thats a rare way to get your stuff back
Actually even the Food truck accepts cards to pay
So they can offer better services
Good
Don’t go here your better off going to the pawn shop on the north side. The owner or whoever he is was rude to me I sold him a 32 Inch tv and he gave me 25$ for it I know it was a little dusty but it retail for 159$ tax included and it’s a pretty decent brand he just low balled me and tried to get mad because I said it was a scam smh it’s bad business and pawn shops are broke so they will try to give you less and make more and try to make you look bad when they make money off of us people I don’t recommend pawn shop’s things aren’t the same anymore go to OfferUp or Craig’s List.
These people straight low balled me. I explained my situation and they didn’t care. But you know what… They are not good pawn shop. I’ve been to other ones better than them
Second time coming and again the owner tries to compare my situation to other people who didn’t come back for their items and tried to low ball me 120 for a 2019 MacBook Pro terrible customer service pretty much 0 people skills smh what a disappointment!
13. Long Beach Woodwinds and Brass
Address: 4420 E Village Rd, Long Beach, CA 90808 , Long Beach , California , United States
Five stars, excellent service! After three attempts and a lot of money to some other people whose repairs left my daughter’s clarinet unplayable (claiming it was my daughter’s beginning clarinet skills that the low notes still would not play), I came to Long Beach Woodwinds for help. With 10 minutes and a very small fee, Long Beach Woodwinds made three adjustments and the clarinet now plays perfectly. This is the only place we will ever go for future instrument repairs, even though it is a bit of a drive for us. They definitely know their stuff.
How do you give this place less than five stars? YOU DON’T! Rusty and his wife are Amazing. What makes me sad is that there are no more shops like theirs around.
I had a great experience @ LBW, the ambience is suited for musicians, I felt right at home, the customer service was great! knowledgeable ,and friendly! Brian worked on my Horn, hooked it up with some “B” man TLC and it sounds fantastic! All that at a right price… Thanks for the love… Paul… Smiles!!!!!
14. Discoteca Jalisco
Address: 2048 Santa Fe Ave, Long Beach, CA 90810 , Long Beach , California , United States
Classic historical long beach spot it’s moved but don’t worry the cop man is inside at least stop in. Get your picture and post your love for music and long beach and horror a unforgettable moment of hip hop
WOW! It was an honor visiting VIP Records. We took pictures with the owner and staff. This place is historically amazing
Smaller and less stocked than I expected, but you could still feel the history of the place. Great staff (I didn’t catch her name but she was dope) and I bought a t-shirt, WOOOO!!
Don’t think it’s there anymore, but big up Snoop Dogg
It’s not the same place as the picture. That’s the old building which has now become a 7-Eleven. VIP Records still exists and is still super cool, but it’s just a few doors down on PCH now.
Tried ordering through their Amazon account several times. Each time the item never ships. Called in and they told me they can’t even log into the account.
Highly recommend this place to creatives/ music producers or someone looking for an office space right in the heart of Long Beach! 24/hr access , free wifi and all utilities included is unheard of! Management is great and eager to help. 2 Thumbs up!
What more perfect place exists than where Cosmic Kitten continuously improve their already impressive craft??
19. Boguslie Productions Inc.
Address: 65 Pine Ave Suite#322, Long Beach, CA 90802 , Long Beach , California , United States
Hands-down the best string store in the area. They’ll set you up with what you need at an incredibly fair price. Staff is especially helpful and knowledgeable.
Good service.
Knowledgeable.
Nice friendly store
Conveniently located with a professional repair staff.
They didn’t everything wrong. Intonation was wrong and set up was inferior. They put the right strings on which is basically all that was right. Took longer than they promised and didn’t bother letting me know it was done.
More’s music store doesn’t sell saxophone mutes and they probably don’t even know what a saxophone mute is so they should probably search up saxophone mute on the internet (bad service).
Not knowledgeable about guitars!! They use to be great.
