The customer service is out of this world. Brandon worked closely with me to make sure my build worked perfectly. He is very knowledgeable. Thank you!
Nicest guy ever! We took my son’s guitar in to fix a string that had snapped. He fixed it right there on the spot. Also gave us a referral for a music instructor. So nice and helpful. We will be back!
Loved it
Neck pickup broke on my custom guitar I ordered. Pickup broke away from the baseplate. Was told I’m under warranty and they would send a replacement and pay for it to be installed.
I’ve been patient and understanding but they decided to ghost me anyway. 5 months and no responses to any of the messages I’ve sent inquiring about an update. Only sent 3 messages over the 5 month period.
The guitar is multiscale and was routed to fit their specific custom sized pickups. I ended up buying a completely different set of pickups and had the guitar routed to fit them because it’s been long enough for it to be insane to assume that they actually have plans to send a replacement.
Last guitar I’ll be buying from them.
3. West Valley Music
Address: 300 W El Camino Real, Mountain View, CA 94040 , Loyola , California , United States
Very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Will come here again.
Mom & pop music store vibes
Great staff who really love music and helping people get started with rentals and classes.
Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Place to buy or lease instrument for kids school music classes
Lots of goodies, nice location
Took my flute collection in for a possible tune up. Was told that all but one of the flutes were unplayable. Guess my looks or money weren’t what they accepted there. Took my ‘non playable’ flutes, and commenced to use them to busk, there in downtown Mtn View. Odd that they were declared unplayable, yet I was playing at least one of them not 30 minutes later. Care to explain West Valley Music staff ?
4. Sono Strings
Address: 171 E El Camino Real, Mountain View, CA 94040 , Loyola , California , United States
Great looking store near the 85 entrance in Mountain View. They are very friendly and its good to be able to ask questions when you are a parent that doesn’t know much about the music instrument industry. A local gem!
They are so experienced with stringed instruments, it makes the whole experience all the more enjoyable. We bought our daughter’s first violin after renting one for a year. They helped her pick the right instrument from the options based in her level. Very knowledgable, considerate and passionate owner/staff. Highly recommended.
Love the services and the staffs are very knowledgeable and professional. Their rental instruments are great and good condition. Price is great!!!!! I highly recommend Sono Strings.
Bad quality violin!!!! We rented a 1/8 violin but wanted to cancel our 3-month contract the same day we rented due to violin quality issue (black paint all over my child’s fingers with strong chemical smells on the surface of the strings and the string board, never happened on her own violins we bought before).
But the Asian female staff there refused, we ended up paying over $90 without playing for a single day!! She was also angry that we have rented another violin from elsewhere without going to them first. But we are very disappointed with the quality and do not want to bother exchanging for another one. And she kept asking for my current address and also read aloud my address from my driver’s license as if to threaten me. Horrible experience!!
The female staff also refuse to give me information of the owner and insisted that she contact the owner directly and would not give me a call if the owner refused to give me back my deposit.
We returned our violin after three months but they refused to give the deposit back to us 🙁
5. Just Saxes
Address: 4546 El Camino Real B10 #384, Los Altos, CA 94022 , Loyola , California , United States
Great service and reasonable prices. We took rentals of both a violin and a cello and they were in good shape.
I am a violin teacher from First Movement Music Academy in Sunnyvale. I have always recommended my students to come here for any violin issues from rental, buying to fixing. The service here is always good and professional.
Friendly staff great customer service
The cheapest violin was $500.
Never open on time.
Went in to enquire about violins for beginners. Person had a snooty attitude for asking for violins in the lower price range. Went to West Valley music where they were very helpful
The service is not same as before. The current stuffs I met don’t know violin, cannot even tune the violin. So they just help you to do the transaction paper work and hand in the violin. You won’t be able to compare different violins. Moreover, they just keep asking you to upgrading. They don’t know customer’s needs, only want the quick transaction. Very disappointed!
7. Steinway Piano Gallery
Address: 316 State St, Los Altos, CA 94022 , Loyola , California , United States
This Steinway showroom is modern and beautiful ! Great selection with wonderful staff. My friend bought a Boston piano from the manager here and referred us here. We are happy their service before and after!
We are very happy with our Steinway piano. The store manager Chrissy was really nice and helpful and she helped us find the perfect phono with perfect price. It was a great experience and would recommend friends who wants pianos here.
My student had been shopping piano for more than 6 months. He had tried different manufactures and different models but couldn’t make up his mind. As soon as he met Chrissy, the store manager, it did not take long for him to buy the piano that he wanted! Chrissy is very sincere, helpful, and professional. He is very happy with his piano.
These are nice but very expensive, the Mercedes of pianos. No bargaining!
I agree with Sarah Chan the salesperson talks a lot! In fact, she talked too much and it was annoying. She was complaining about how other customers wanted to try the pianos and not buying one. She kept talking and talking and we told her we had to leave, but she won’t stop. Yikes!
They won’t let you touch the pianos. Funny…
Ok they shouldn’t have advertised themselves offering $59 rental on pianos. When I put in my info on the website, the manager Chrissy Huang emailed me to ask a bunch of questions about me but rental options/pricing and after I emailed her back about my needs which is on the low budget side she just never responded to me again and I wonder why? After I looked at the rest of reviews, I guess she may only be willing to serve people who is ready to pay hugely. Then why bother advertising it that way? Not that I don’t understand the value of Steinway cuz I’m also a professional musician. Can’t believe this
Riesige Auswahl an Klavieren und Flügeln. Von 2000 bis 90.000$
Sehr freundlicher Inhaber Greg
Very good attitude and knowledgeable owners
We love the Reiger-Kloss piano Kathie helped us choose. It’s been amazing
Well not too many collections
Bought a digital piano here. The owner was responsive and open to negotiating price. The saleswoman was pleasant and helpful. The delivery service wasn’t great, though—I helped bring in the piano, when it really should have been done by two professionals or using a better dolly.
Had a used piano store smell to it. Not a bad thing per se. Just saying. Mostly used pianos on display. Pianos were displayed quite cramped together. But still had room to play. Went to try the Baldwin 252 as not many Baldwin dealers in the area.
We have a baby grand that we have rented from them for over a year. We wanted to have the baby grand picked up and switched out to an upright piano. The woman who answered the phone insisted that I come down to the store to pick out an upright, when I told her I simply wanted to exchange it for something of equal quality, I was told, No I had to come down to the store. When I asked if we could do this over the phone or via email as it was for my client and not myself, I was told No again. I initially rented this piano via email and telephone calls and and when I explained this to her she still said no. I said ok.. should I rent the piano from someone else? and she said Yes that was a good idea… I find myself discouraged by their lack of courtesy, customer service.
The sales person Carole at this shop is full of lies. She tried to sell us a pre-owned Kawai piano that she claimed was produced in 2015 and was made in Japan trying to make us believe that the piano is still under Kawai’s ten years warranty and of quality production. It turned out the piano was made in 2008 in Indonesia. She also trashed the brands Young Chang and Palatino because I mentioned I checked those somewhere else. Ironically the shop also sells Young Chang. I bet that’s not how she talks to customers who’s interested in buying their Young Chang. Very unprofessional way of doing business.
10. Nancy’s Music Studio
Address: 50 E Middlefield Rd, Mountain View, CA 94043 , Loyola , California , United States
Nancy has been teaching my son piano for a few weeks now. He has grown so much in his skills. She teaches from the basics and up. He now knows how to read music and play with two hands because of her!
Nancy is a great teacher specially for young child. She come to my home for lessons. She has an excellent music credentials. Highly recommend
Nancy is a wonderful teacher. She comes to my home and taught my kids for over 5 years. I am glad my kids grow up with her around us. Highly recommend!
Sami was the DJ at our engagement party at the Westin Hotel! We had about 150 people there and Sami did a wonderful job coordinating everything and our 3 different playlists. He even sang some Arabic songs on our playlist and sang a little in French! Sami was also so wonderful with our timeline. We were right on time with everything and he made it so easy for us. Everyone was dancing the night away. Thank you Sami for everything!!!
We hired Sami and his group to sing and DJ for my a wedding. He is very professional, talented, easy to work with, and punctual. We gave him some suggested songs, and he chose some. The evening was unforgettable. We have attended many events that were hosted by Sami, and we are impressed every time. Our experience with Sami and his team was great. An A+ team.

Our son has been learning piano lessons for last 3 years, initially with teacher Tennessee and now with teacher Maria. Both are very good teachers. Our son is now moving to advance lessons and is very with happy teacher Maria. Highly recommend this school for your kids.
We love their piano lessons! Teacher Mariia is a great, warm piano teacher and my son loves her instructions! Strongly recommend their piano lessons!
My child really enjoys his online lessons. Teachers are warm, kind and very knowlegeable.

My two kids are with PQ for more than 2 years, for vocal and piano. We are so grateful that we choose PQ and our kids can grow up with PQ. The teachers are awesome and they always provide the best learning experience with professional music skills. Don’t miss this hidden gem in Silicon Valley!
Excellent teachers and great management. Plenty of activities and recitals to keep kid engaged and enjoying learning music. My son and I are both learning singing here, and we both love it. Highly recommend it to both kids and adults who would like to learn music.
Good experience for kids with patience
15. JAMS Music
Address: 7282 San Ramon Rd, Dublin, CA 94568 , Loyola , California , United States
I really appreciated the customer service I received during my first visit here. I received a great deal of information from the owner and he didn’t try to sell us anything that was unnecessary for a beginning band student. I’m sold. This will be our music store from now on.
Jake was very welcoming and knowledgeable and helped me make the right choice. Thanks again Jake!!
Brought in a guitar of mine for repairs which I had lost hope on. Brian completely fixed it up and made it play better than ever. The store is very clean and nicely stocked with all sorts of guitars and amps. I was so impressed by their customer service that I decided to sign up for some lessons. Support your local music shop 🙂
Small sized neighborhood music store. Friendly staff and services. Mainly focuses on guitars but doesn’t have a large selection. It primarily focuses on mid to higher end brands. Offers classes at the side
Good place
Repairs typically take 10 business days but staff is relatively knowledgeable and they have a wide selection of material
Brought a bass with a maxed out truss rod to see if they could put a spacer in it. Their repair guy called me a few days later telling me that the truss rod was fine, and that it just needed a proper setup. I go get it and in the shop it looked fine with the action a bit high but okay, but when I got home I discovered that it was tuned half tone down, so no wonder it was fine: less tension, less bow. When properly tuned it still had the problem. So, don’t trust your repairs or setups to this store.
We’ve heard good things about this place so we thought of giving it a try. We went there to rent an instrument but they said the one they have is being repaired. We asked for a return call once it becomes available so we can get it. Five days later and still no call so we decided to call them. Then they said it’s no longer available as someone else already got it.
16. Loud and Clear Music
Address: 8000 Old Redwood Hwy, Cotati, CA 94931 , Loyola , California , United States
This store is a gem here. A crucial part of being a musician as the staff are all willing and eager to help with your needs, great selection of new and used gear ,I sold a few items here and the owner cut me a check for more than my asking price. How cool was that. Very cool to hang out here.
Aldo Lovati
Loud and Clear (and Zone Music before) has always been a place I could trust and feel ok going to. With an incredible selection of new and used gear of all kinds, I know the quality is always there and the staff is experienced and knowkedgeable. And they are local! Just this past Monday… Nevel at Loud and Clear blew me away when he called and asked me to come in and pick up the 6 piece beautiful (and vintage!) drum set he wanted to give me because he knew I was looking.to replace the one I lost (firestorm, Coffey Park, yada yada yada) It’s just in time for my next gig and it has everything. I cannot thank you enough brother Nevel! So listen up players.. put the freakin’ phone down and get over to Loud and Clear before pushing the wrong button, kapeesh? Their friendly “Staff of Actual Humans” is disrupting the entire industry. Check em’ out!!
Music store in the Hub of Sonoma County. New and used gear. Good place to sell old gear on consignment. Trade or upgrade to your needs.
This is what a music store should be like
Nice people good selection of items.
Always good equipment selection & great customer service…!
So, I’ve been in here twice since I’ve moved from East Bay to Rohnert Park last year. On both separate occasions the staff watches me like I’m going to steal every item in the store somehow. Very, very, very uncomfortable to look up and have every worker in the store staring at you from across the room, yet not one word of helpfulness or a ‘hi’ or anything. I wont be stepping foot in ‘this boy’s club again’.
They’d rather make $50 or so than lose a customer and get a negative feedback. Not sure that’s a winning business strategy in the long run, but best of luck.
17. Marion Rubinstein – Music Teacher
Address: 1071 Blair Ave, Sunnyvale, CA 94087 , Loyola , California , United States
Best music store around, especially for us ukele players. Good selection of instruments and music books, instruction and even in store workshops and concerts
Super knowledgable and amazing service. Worth the drive.
Lots of different musical instruments, and they provide lessons in many different music types.
I was wonderfully helped. For a small shop it had a decent selection and decent prices
The place has helpful staff and great collection of musical instruments.
Sam has helped us out to pick right a digital piano for my girl. I know nothing about the instrument, so he put enough time to explain all the options for us.
Boo
19. Happy Clef
Address: 900 N San Antonio Rd Ste 108, Los Altos, CA 94022 , Loyola , California , United States
The program is super flexible and all the staff is incredibly supportive. As a student who opted into the student-teacher training program, I thoroughly enjoyed it and believe that it added depth to my curriculum.
I’ve been part of the teacher training program here at Peery, and I’ve been extremely impressed with the professionalism and skills of the teachers and the students there!
My family has been a part of the Peery family for over a decade and we are incredibly happy with being part of this community. Peery excels at establishing great piano habits from the start of their lessons and focusing on the individual student strengths. We would recommend to anyone looking for piano lessons 🙂
