The owner has always been very kind. He does quick and efficient work on any marching band instrument.
I am a professional musician. I had my Haynes handmade flute completely reburbished. It looks and plays like a dream. I also had my Gemeinhardt ALTO flute refurbished. All new pads, some fine tweaking, and it – too – exceeds my expectations. Dave is a gem – in the small city of Elberton.
Excellent customer service that you can only get from a small business like this one! Great staff and excellent repair work done on my son’s trombone.
3. Maxwell Music Supply
Address: 16 S Public Square, Elberton, GA 30635 , Comer , Georgia , United States
Very nice music store I bought a used Peavey acoustic guitar, I love it! The sound is amazing.
Knowledgeable people who take time to talk and help you decide on what you need. Highly recommend!
Excellent Customer Service and Awesome Rapport
Good selection of guitars and accessories. Keyboards – not so much (there were literally 2 on the floor and not the best quality). Should be called “Stan’s Guitar World.”
Even though I was actually looking for a keyboard, guitar prices were decent and I might have bought one if anyone had tried to help me.
I really wanted to ask about equipment rentals as well since I was only in town for a short while, but again, service wasn’t part of the display.
The staff member at the register was so preoccupied in conversation with another customer that I wasn’t even greeted when I came in, and he didn’t even bother with a “come again soon” when I left angry after about 10min of looking around and waiting.
This is the reason people skip over local small businesses to shop at national chains – like that “other” guitar store
Slightly above average. If Stan’s there, he’s a wonderful storyteller, and man in general. If he’s out and one of his employees is minding the shop, come back another time
If Stan is not there, dont bother. Just go home.
4. Musician’s Warehouse
Address: 245 N Lumpkin St, Athens, GA 30601 , Comer , Georgia , United States
What more can you say….Awesome prices, selection and service. I’ve bought a few things big and small and have never encountered any issues with anything. I like the fact it’s family run and it’s not like the corporate franchise music stores. BIG ED ROCKS!
Great place. Friendly atmosphere. Just purchased a 12-string and the buying experience couldn’t have been better.
These guys are epic.. know what they’re talking about and have good gear too. Definitely worth a visit.
Pretty good shop if you are in Athens. Much better selection of gear than their competitors in the area.
Very nice store but not a great variety of guitars
Nice selection of stringed and percussion instruments. Pretty decent prices, too.
Really wanted to like this company. I was cheated and conned, and after a week with zero communication I contacted them. They fumbled around for another day or two then stated they couldn’t find the item. I was left empty handed and confused. No attempt at finding the item or ordering another. Nothing. Zip. C’mon guys!
Poor selection. If you like grandpa guitars this is the place. Wouldnt recomend to any modern guitar players.
Dude I’m not sure what happened. The first floor is desolate (empty for everybody that’s currently reading this while dunk). I understand social distancing, but I’m I am attending Warehouse, I do not care about the current situation, I’m here to rave. Open the first floor for a mosh pit.
5. Jackson’s Music Store Inc
Address: 1651 Horizon Pkwy #500, Buford, GA 30518 , Comer , Georgia , United States
A great family owned music store. They are fairly priced, knowledgeable and friendly. My go to place for instrument repair.
Excellent customer service. They know their products & everything about musical products as well. Thanks guys!
These guys are awesome! They always go above and beyond to find what we need.
Staff is nice, small selection tho. Mostly beginner instruments and school band instruments.
Very friendly staff. They make you understand about the different instruments if you have no knowledge about it.
Always pleasant – always professional and it’s been that way since I moved into the area!
I’ve read some of the complaints here and I’ve not had those experiences and I shop there a couple times a year. I also understand how smaller music stores value the integrity of their new products by trying to limit maring the guitar finish with picks. You wanna do that you’re right- go to Guitar Center.
First rate staff and ownership and first rate lessons with an experienced staff!
I’ll keep going back!
Overpriced
I had been going in the store for music lessons for boys and now it is on the way home from work.. I paid almost $60 for a microphone and a piece that connects it to the speaker. I like support mom and pop shops. The microphone did not work. When I tried to switch it with the same sales person I bought it from 3days before. He remember me and accuse me of damaging it and lying about it. He pulled it up and it did not work. Instead of apologizing he said if the new one broke I could not bring it back. I told he did not need to worry because I would not be back to that store. I went to speak to the owner and she ask him to apologize which he could not do and I told her it was okay and not necessary because I would not be back. I guess next time I will order it off online and pay 1/3 the price and not get such horrible treatment.
Don’t go here. They have the worst service ever. I have a clarinet and the thumb rest broke, and I had to get a realignment for my bottom keys and they only fixed my thumb rest but took money for both realignment and my thumb rest. They didn’t fix both things but took charge for both. How pathetic.
6. JAWS GUITARS
Address: 111 Mountain Vista Blvd #135, Canton, GA 30115 , Comer , Georgia , United States
I play accoustic guitar. It’s my go to place for any guitar needs. Prices are really good. The owner is super nice (wish I could remember his name)! I have also purchased a used guitar here and was very happy with the deal. They have quality equipment and are up front about everything. Very reputable! So glad they are close by!
If you want professional guitar work James is the man will see him again very shortly great place
Best store ever!
As a store, very, very little selection of amplifiers or guitars. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and not at all uptight about customers touching and trying out the gear they do have on hand. May be better as a place for repairs and maintenance, but cannot attest to that.
Knowledgeable, friendly owner. Cozy shop and nice environment. Now, if I could just magically learn how to play…..I’d give it one more star….
Jim, the owner is well informed and super friendly. A pleasure to speak with. Inventory changes often. Fun place to to go exploring.
I needed a setup for my Gibson Les Paul and decided to give Jaws a shot because of their overwhelmingly positive reviews. I dropped of my guitar and told the luthier that I was experiencing a lot of fret buzz. The turn around time was very quick and I was able to pick it up the next day. I was told that there would still be some buzz based on my attack, which seemed like a cop out. I asked if there were any high frets and I was assured that there were none. I took the guitar home and played it to find that I was still experiencing buzzing even when strummed lightly. I pulled out the fret rocker to find that several of my frets were high despite what the shop told me. Overall, this was a waste of time and money and I’m very disappointed with the level of service.
7. Ponce De Leon Music Center
Address: 1060 Dahlonega Hwy, Cumming, GA 30040 , Comer , Georgia , United States
Best of Forsyth for a reason. Dan and the gang will make sure you leave informed and satisfied with your purchase.
Great place. Friendly staff. All of your music and instrument needs will be met.
Excellent staff. Great products. Great Teachers. Highly recommend for any of your music needs.
The staff isn’t the nicest but they do help. I rented my oboe from here and so far it plays well!
Very knowledgeable, always helpful.
Muy surtido y los precios muy razonable
Had to make a quick stop to grab a few things. I know it was closing time. I was trying to make it quick. When they started harassing my husband reminding him when they close he left and we took our business somewhere else. Customers want to feel welcomed, not reminded how unfortunate you are to have to lock the door right at 5:00.
The customer service is awful I definitely won’t be back there every again
8. Town Center Music
Address: 4072 Suwanee Dam Rd NW, Suwanee, GA 30024 , Comer , Georgia , United States
Went in with an Ibanez Jem Jr. Hoping to get a sustainiac put in and Dustin was able to do it very quickly! Everything was perfect and the staff was very knowledgeable and kind. Highly recommend!
We’ve been coming to TCM since March when we bought our son his first guitar from Mr. John Michael. We were so impressed from our first experience and that satisfaction has only grown over the past 7 months as each week we stop in for lessons, a nice chat, guitar advice, and a restring/neck adjustment over the summer. Everyone there is super knowledgeable and kind. They have a wide range of price points for anyone from beginner to expert. His guitar teacher, Mr. Greg, is a fun and gifted musician. My husband and I are amazed by how quickly our son has been able to learn both technique and music and play real songs from his favorite bands. TCM, you have earned our business for life. We highly recommend!!
I randomly walked in a few weeks ago and instantly knew this was the store for me. If you want great gear with an amazing staff check out this place, they have an amazing array of effects pedals too. The sales associate, Julian, was awesome he never steered me wrong on suggestions of what I might be interested in. One thing I noticed that truly went above and beyond, was he listens to the customers style of playing and makes his recommendations on that. Over the course of about a month I ended purchasing about 4 pedals and a new guitar there. I will be a long-time customer at Town Center Music and already planning my next purchase.
Good
Taught my kids to play guitar
Much better store I not been here in a while the past manager was not a music guy or a manger known as a air head I will be back
Store is dirty poor selection not real big
Wow. Just called Town Center Music. Someone answered. I started asking about a guitar I’m looking for and got cut off mid-sentence by the guy talking loudly to a co-worker. When he stopped talking I said hello? Hello? Nothing. A few seconds later he hangs up.
AVOID AVIOD
High prices not helpful run by a guy who looks 40 and still in a garage band no music
background not open late any place better then here. Manger is clueless.
9. Roundabout Tobacco Store
Address: 39 GA-98 E, Danielsville, GA 30633 , Comer , Georgia , United States
Everyone on staff there are friendly and very helpful, the store is always clean and always a variety of choices on hand.
Thank you to everyone at roundabout for all you do for the public
Friendly staff, great store.
They are always so friendly!
Easy transaction. Nice staff. However, the car should’ve been ALOT cleaner on the inside. I mean if your going to threaten to charge someone a $200 fee if they smoke in your vehicles, make sure your employees that are “cleaning” the vehicles does a much MUCH better job! Animal hair all over the dash, and some periodically blew out on my 10 hour ride in the car. Anyway, just saying clean better! Car ran great and was cheap on gas! Overall= B+
Love this place ! excellent on keeping prices low.. very fast and friendly service!
Hospitality is good hospitality. Cigarettes is good
I used to enjoy shopping here kind of felt like a hometown store but I just recently left was cussed out bye employees and would not sell my cigarettes to me made me give them back and gave my money back to me the female that was working was cussing me every breath I wasn’t even speaking to her she came in on the conversation I felt very dare a grown man say I was a little frightened would the amount of animosity coming from this woman told me she would pay me to leave and I said just let me count my money that she was going to call the cops all for what reason I was just standing in line talking to the other employee waiting on him to see if the coupons I had we’re going to be valid he was waiting on the boss to return his call she butted in the female employee and said that they don’t take them and I need to leave they weren’t going to sell me anything I was so embarrassed I don’t appreciate it
Good selection of stuff
For a downhome local store…. I was disappointed at the lack of friendliness and how quickly I was able to notice the lack of interest in helping the customers
10. B2K Music
Address: 490 F, Bankhead Hwy, Carrollton, GA 30117 , Comer , Georgia , United States
Very friendly, professional, and price competitive.
Great place lots of options great and helpful staff definitely will be a returning customer.
Excellent experience. I asked for the cheapest microphone to get me by and I was extremely surprised by the quality of the product. Also purchased a mic stand which was equally as nice, especially considering its price. This is a quality store.
Great place to find what you want in music
Awesome people knows what they are talking about and very friendly
Super nice dog and Kevin is OK too.
They’re way overpriced, and they know it. But it doesn’t matter if you have money or not if they don’t like either going to snub you. Very very stick in the ashes, type atmosphere
I wouldn’t recommend them
Awful, awful, awful! The guys who work there are the most unprofessional, unhelpful, people I have ever met! They were extremely rude and just flat out deuchebags!
I’ll never, ever shop there again. Period.
11. M & Marj’s & Reds Thrift Store
Address: 10 Sunset Dr, Danielsville, GA 30633 , Comer , Georgia , United States
Great store! Very friendly staff, highly knowledgeable and helped us greatly!
Great piano teachers!
Very nice people
Well stocked store, lots of good bargains, & a courteous staff.
I’ve been here several times and they are constantly helpful and efficient. They took a look at my cello at no cost and let me know it didn’t need to be fixed yet. I appreciate their honesty.
Great workers, with pretty decent prices. The selection could use significant improvement though. Overall a nice place.
Very unhappy with the service on a product exchange. Came into the store this morning and made a purchase very possibly a four-star transaction. They were very helpful the sales guy that helped us initially. But upon returning to the store to exchange after realizing that the wrong mic cord was purchased the customer service received from the manager was very inappropriate. The salesman that sold us the cord initially apologized that he assumed that we needed the cord that he sold us the first time. So he apologized and went back to get the manager to do the exchange. The manager was clearly disgusted with us because we wanted to exchange the cord that was only two dollars difference in price. We even said that he could keep the change. He was typing on the keyboard very hard and just looking at us and like he didn’t want to be bothered and basically threw the original receipt back at us. Maybe he was having a bad day. He made a comment to the salesman about another customer in the store who was playing a guitar saying “why is he even here?” The salesman said he didn’t know. So maybe the manager was having a bad day.I don’t know but don’t take it out on your customers. I surely will not be back.
