Greg has years of experience with Hammonds and has provided great service for a very reasonable price! He rebuilt the 1961 A-100 pictured below and it sounds amazing!
I always enjoy working with Black Hammond. Greg is a true consummate professional. His work speaks for itself, and I won’t trust my vintage Hammond/Leslie to anyone else.
Placed an order on line. Order on 2/12. Was informed my order was received the same day. Still haven’t heard of a shipment date. How long does it take to package a microphone and sent it out.? LOUSY SERVICE.
Hard to find. Just a bunch of pianos
3. 5/4 Music Space
Address: 340 Walnut St, Macon, GA 31201 , Macon , Georgia , United States
George and crew run Macon Productions here and are a great bunch of folks
Great environment filled with good people
Great place to let your creativity run loose. Great studio space and sound engineers.
Great space to gather metal heads and good hardcore scene. Can use some TLC but gives it character.
My room had a leak from hell in the ceiling that never got fixed and whenever it rained all my equipment would get wet and every time I’d open the door to my room id see rats run and hide in the walls and you could hear them running around in the ceiling tiles constantly. The place isn’t kept well and my car got broken into in the parking lot there. The manager there is also bad with finances and would regularly accuse me of not paying my rent even though we always paid our rent 6months in advance and would randomly ask that we paid early in order to “keep the 5/4’s account from going negative”. Since then my band and I have moved to fresh produce down the street and have been way happier.
Unprofessional and racist.. I called to inquire about setting up an session and the guy hung the phone up in my face.
Very unprofessionally run. And it sits in the ghetto so it’s a playground for the homeless and bums
4. Fresh Produce Records
Address: 567 Cherry St, Macon, GA 31201 , Macon , Georgia , United States
Great selection of music…..every kind! Spanning the decades….. from big band swing era to rock and roll, folk, heavy metal, country and bluegrass…you name, they have it!
Nice shop, prompt service, near Capricorn Records.
First visit. They had a wider selection of vinyl than I anticipated which was a nice surprise. Prices were reasonable. I thumbed through a portion of the stacks briefly, but didnt see the specific records I was interested in. However, they may have had them (I didnt ask for help) and they had vinyl from a lot of other artists I’m interested in. My visit was for used CDs. That’s all I ever really buy and unfortunately pure CD stores are a thing of the past, so my preference is an after thought at record stores. Fresh Produce did have a hefty quantity of used CDs, but unfortunately didnt have a variety of artists. So I was sorely disappointed thinking their stock would be on par with my recent visits to other record shops. Wish they would get better dedicated shelves for their CDs and tapes to make for easier browsing.
First time going to this record place. Tiny little shop but had a good selection of records from all decades and genres. Staff were very helpful in pricing items while I was browsing. They had a ton of records that weren’t priced or sorted, but they get so many I can understand that. Want to come back again whenever I have a chance.
Being a vinyl guy, this place is a great place to browse and reminisce on the good old days and magic of the distinct sound of vinyl music
CALL BEFORE YOU TRY TO VISIT!!!!!!
Tried to shop at 3:30 pm on a Saturday the busiest retail day of the week. There was a pice of paper on the door saying someone would be back in 20-25 minutes and a phone number. The job of a retail worker is to wait for customers to come into the store, not have customers call them to meet up. Read the other reviews. The actions today support a drug dealer vibe. Every town I visit I always find a record store to check out. I also tell all the audiophiles I know about which towns to go for the best record stores. I gave the second star because from the window it looked like it was well organized. Especially compared to the Habersham record store. Macon as a whole is not a town for record shopping. Great music icons were from here but I can see why they didn’t stay. The note said they were going to get lunch. Isn’t there a huge industry called delivery?
Very rude and even cursed at my husband on the phone. Just trying to do some business..but if you didn’t wanna make a sale you could have just said that instead of being rude. HORRIBLE!!!!!
Owner definitely knows how to advertise and is extremely helpful when trying to find artists. Great service!!!
Update 1/24/23: Just ordered an album that has been on my want list for a long time from this shop. Very affordable compared to prices I was seeing on Ebay, super happy with the quality, and shipped incredibly fast!
My records shipped quickly in great condition. Love supporting a business owned by a Mercer student and supporting Macon small businesses from afar. It would be nice to see the store incorporate some more albums by local Macon artists and bands Macon is known for – the Allman Brothers, for example, would be great to stock, a lot of their album art was even photographed around Macon. Definitely hoping to stop by in person the next time I’m in town!
Been waiting for a frank ocean vinyl and finally got it, great service, vinyls comes in great condition, wide selection of vinyls with very colorful and cool vinyls disks.
Sharing experience after ordering online. I decided to take the plunge after finding some records I was after on their online store. The order was shipped quickly. I’m happy with what I received, as I had been searching for these three records for a long time. However, beware that the vinyls I purchased were all labeled as “sealed and mint” and they are most definitely used upon opening them. All of them have played fine, and I’m ok with buying used records. However, I would’ve liked to know what I was purchasing. I’ve opened many new vinyls and have never seen any minor scratching or fingerprints inside them as I did with these. Overall, I probably wouldn’t purchase again, but I am happy with the few that I bought.
I found this record store through the Tik Tok app. I gave them a shot and ordered a couple records. Had a little mix up getting me my records but the owner called me at my request and fixed the issue and i received my records in the mail today. This is an updated review I do recommend this store, great selection and fair prices.
Hard to search through the records. They’re buying to upsale online, which is fine, but maybe offer an incentive to locals actually coming into the store….
Still have not received my order that I placed in July and it is now September. I haven’t even received a shipping confirmation or anything regarding my order. I have emailed them multiple times with no response. Super disappointed because I always want to support to small businesses.
Katastrophale Kommunikation. Die Bestellung wurde storniert aber nie zurück erstattet. Leider sehr enttäuschend.
they all fake

Was ¡SO PLEASED! to find this shop. Such great energy, people, & products. Thanks for touring me through your beautiful space, introducing me to K-Pop card trading, & sharing some group & album recommendations! Looking forward to coming back again and checking in on your success 🙂

10. Betsy Fitzgerald- Macon Harpist Providing Elegant Harp Music
Address: 260 Orange St, Macon, GA 31201 , Macon , Georgia , United States
Needed assistance with keyboard. Curtis was great.
Very knowledgeable and experienced staff. They have a guy for everything!
While this is a smaller guitar center, much smaller than my regular GC in Atlanta, you get that more personable feel here, in Macon. Jason Janik rocks and helped me with an amazing guitar and pedals. Feels like we were old pals talking, and yet we just met that day. The staff is friendly, and even when I encountered a problem, they were there to help fix it right away. I’m becoming a regular there.
Helpful but could be a bit more friendly with customers.
The selection is mediocre but the service is good
Friendly and helpful staff. Pretty good selection of musical instruments. Free to roam and try out things without sales pressure. They also price match with local and online competitors.
If I could give no stars I would… This kid named Collin that works here is so rude to customers and DOES NOT NEED TO WORK WITH THE PUBLIC. I thought it was just me but I watched his interaction with others and it was awful as well. Last time I will ever step foot in this store.
They don’t know their products. Poor customer service.
I’ve been going to this location for years and have always ahead a great experience. This morning, I went by to get a box for an amp. When I pulled up, all of the employees were standing outside smoking, etc. (and I didn’t recognize any of them). 2 of them immediately went inside as I pulled up. I rolled my window down to ask about the box and was told they don’t. The guy was quite annoyed with my question. He then told me to try a UPS store as they have all kinds of boxes. You think? I can’t believe how unprofessional he acted. The other guy still outside looked uncomfortable as he could tell the other guys attitude wasn’t going over too well. If the regular staff was around, it would’ve been a much more pleasant experience.
13. Bill Hardin Music
Address: 4661 Chambers Rd, Macon, GA 31206 , Macon , Georgia , United States
Super large variety of instruments available. There’s also an equal amount of accessories available for competitive price to today’s online shopping. Easy access from two major highways. Fun interesting instruments for the kids for affordable prices such as harmonicas.
I bought an Alvarez acoustic/electric guitar (model ad60cesb) on November 19, 2015. John sold me the guitar and he was extremely helpful in helping me choose the right one for me, being that I’m a beginner. It came with a lifetime warranty and when I’m in the market for an electric, which will be soon, I hope they have something that fits my needs and wants. I’m sure I’ll be doing business with them again !
The store seems OK at first glance, but I had a question about sales tax, and the associate (Drew) didn’t know the answer. The manager wasn’t in, so I asked the associate to take my name and number. He flatly refused. I was flabbergasted. I called later and spoke to the manager who didn’t seem to care very much. I went back later in the week. Drew’s still around. I recommend you spend your money elsewhere.
Manager is the worst kind of human being. Do not shop here. Would never go there again.
This place was better in the past than it is currently. The employees were all sitting around in a circle talking and were clearly staring at me whilst I looked around at their selection of products. I was asked several times if I needed help finding anything to the point of annoyance. I told them numerous times that I was not shopping for anything specific and that I was there to look at their selection since I haven’t been there in years. Upon first glance, they moved their small selection of electric guitars into what was the acoustic guitar room (which is very small). They also moved all the acoustic guitars into the main area. Why? I understand that they may sell better there, but that room was literally engineered for acoustics. In addition, they put up signs asking for assistance for playing each guitar in the shop as well. I don’t think they can make it any harder to actually buy something here. Here are my recommendations for improvement. Employees should maintain a professional manner and not have mannerisms that resemble a lunch “get together” where you are sitting in a circle chatting with one another. Secondly, the acoustic guitars need to be in the acoustic room and the electric guitars need to be back in the main part of the store. The sole reason that room was constructed was for sound acoustics. Finally, listen to the customers. It’s evident when employees don’t listen to customers. In my case, I said that I did not need assistance, yet I was sequentially asked four or five times if I needed any.
14. Habersham Cd’s Record & Tape
Address: 2808 Napier Ave, Macon, GA 31204 , Macon , Georgia , United States
Kind welcoming woman and a large selection of Vinyls, me and the fiance could spend hours just going through the selection. A little gem in the rough.
I can get any CD from the old school to the new school.
They really know the music a there artists, they are curtious.
They do what they can do to get what you want.
Good place
to get concert or play tickets.
Great Customer Service & Care.
Ms pat is the best
First of all they need to change their address on Google since they have moved to a new location. The shop is small and the records are all jammed against one wall. Most of the records are piled up flat rather than standing up front to back. This causes wear on the covers and records. Almost no records have outer sleeves and many did not have an inner sleeve. Records were in poor condition would not recommend.

Awesome teaching
I have on and off taken lessons most of my life but was over thinking it but Brandon with Brown’s music helped me so much to grasp and simplify playing piano. While i still need more training i am well on my way..I owe it all to God who placed in my path a great anointed musician Brandon Brown ..my best is yet teacher
Good guy very professional
Bro. Brown is a very dedicated music teacher. He has
a strong love for music. He shows that love by
encouraging young people to learn and enjoy music
He is such a positive and delightful motivator of all
that expresses a desire to play the piano. I chose to
put my grandson in the music class first. Now, I am
an elderly woman, and I am so eager to begin learning
how to play the piano.

In addition to the great staff they have a relaxing lounge with complimentary coffee & water. In addition a bulletin board with upcoming events, student of the month and more. Did I mention the bathroom is always clean (that’s important)! Lastly Cardon provides masterclasses to perfect your sound and showcases to sing to the masses.
My son has been taking piano lessons from Annie for the past 9 years ever since he was 6 years old. He started with the fundamentals of piano music and has steadily progressed to an advanced level. Annie works well with him and she is able to help him connect with the music. Moreover, she has managed to instill in him the discipline to practice daily.
The teachers, director, office staff and owners are amazing, professional, and respectful. His vocal and performance skills are so impressive – the growth we have seen from him is truly remarkable. His self confidence has improved tremendously. He loves music so much that he will continue studying music in college. If your child has expressed any interest in music, I 100 percent recommend
18. Star Motel Recording Studios
Address: 1144 Georgia Ave, Macon, GA 31201 , Macon , Georgia , United States
Great place to visit and an even better place to record. The owner , operator, the man with the plan, Joey Stuckey is fantastic in all he does. His patients ,understanding and willingness to listen to his clients and their wants and/or needs makes the experience even better.. If ever you need to record music of any kind this is the place to go. I give a huge thumbs up.
Joey and Adam were phenomenal. They made my song into something ready for any medium. I’m so thankful for the both of them!
Originally, I came to this studio because of some freelance session drumming. I really began to bond with the owner, Joey, and it’s really become my “go-to” for recordings. Cheers, Joey!
