I just moved to Tucson within the last year and this has been the absolute most helpful store ever. I used to go to a Music and Arts in Maryland (no idea it was the same place) and I can say that their customer service is above and beyond across the country! I took a bass with a broken bridge to a certain big box retailer and all they could do is stand there with a shocked look and say they couldn’t do anything for me. I went to Music and Arts (should’ve gone there 1st) and was treated like I was the only customer in the store. They have been in touch with me to inform of any updates, and are friendly and knowledgeable. Great store!
Got my 8th graders trombone fixed, spit valve was detached. Turn around time if you respond as fast as them and have the instrument in their possession by Thursday is less than 5 days. It’s very quick and reasonable.
My son is taking band for the first time this year. The associate made the process of renting his instrument totally painless. All I had to do was fill out a little paperwork and pay. We were in and out within 10 minutes. 🙂
Just want to say that I am a fan of this store. I think they do a great job at helping people find what they are looking for and have them leaving satisfied with their musical purchases. With that being said, I want to make a point that only having one store closer is unsafe. Multiple times in the past year I have heard of there being theft. I’m concerned for the employees’ safety and customer safety.
Protect your employees! They make the company money!
Friendly and helpful staff! Clean and distance with masks observed! Awesome place to learn music as well as purchase quality music products.
Abit more expensive than the guitar center.
The worst place ever.. Always pay my rental before its do and yet still get notices in the mail saying not paid.. They never get the billing correct.. I even got a collection letter 2 months after I even returned the instrument in and have proof of paid in full yet they say it was a computer problem.. This place sucks.. Never doing business with them again..
I was very unhappy with the way this store sold us an instrument after we rented one for over two years. We qualified for the rental credit and it was given to us. The problem was that they valued the used rental instrument at $800+ and they sell the same one brand new for about $470. The reason they do that is that there is a clause that states that when using the rental credit one must buy an instrument that cost the same or more than the rental so they jack up the value of the rental. We were told that we couldn’t buy the flute we had been renting and could not get a new flute because it wasn’t equal or more value to the one we had been renting per terms of our agreement. They said that our only option was to purchase a used refurbished flute from the warehouse and it would be sent to us. We feel that this is a very shady way to do business. Not recommended. Updated; Thank you for your reply too, owner of the store. I have already sent an email but thanks for suggesting it.
I used to be loyal customer for years. Howerver, M&A’s new strategy of “Paperless receipts”, requires that I provide my email address for a purchase. Their “paperless reciept” excuse is nothing more than a strategic excuse to obtain email addresses so they can spam. When I stated I do not provide my email, they refused to sell me a service. I have since found a local music store that is more friendly and will no longer use M&A.
Love those guys, friendly, knowledgeable and real. Manager Chris is the best. I’ll be back next payday.
Guitar Center plus Tucson equals a fairly well stocked store with good hours and open on Sunday. They definitely have the basics covered, and they can order anything they don’t have in-store. My order shipped to my house, no extra trip back for pickup.
Helpful and knowledgeable
some people are cool there..the girl in the acoustic room seemed to not know a thing about the products and looked very nervous..it was making me nervous..ill check the guitars when shes not there
They’ve got pretty much everything you need. But the fact that the guitar technician needs to be in to change the strings on your brother’s Floyd Rose because no one else in the store knows how to is a little disheartening
Wasn’t open early enough for me. Being so close to Christmas I figured it would be open before 11am. Sorry, bought what I needed elsewhere.
Totally sucks and don’t recommend anyone go there. I’ve had trouble with every visit, and I’d spent a large amount of cash there. Have been endlessly disappointed. 0 stars, but this won’t let me give it none!
Didn’t have the right strings for a banjo unbelievable
After a long battle with their partner musicians friend… I finally acquired the electric drumset I’ve been trying to obtain. I get home and put it together to find out they accidently gave me the wrong cymbal. Have to drive back and get it to come home and finally be ready to play….. now I discover the snare doesnt work. Now I’m waiting a week to get a replacement snare. Guitar Centers are slowly going down the tube. I used to love these places as a kid. Now the inventory is slim and staff seem to consist of any warm body they picked up off the corner. EDIT: called back to check the status of the replacement snare… no one knew what I was even talking about. No actions were taken to remedy my issue other than telling me im in my return period still or that I could use the warranty I paid for which does nothing more than provide me credit toward an in store repair. Smh never again. Took the whole set back and ordered one through Sweetwater. Updater from 3 to 1 star
You really have to experience Rene Taylor and her smooth sultry voice. She not only captivates you with her jazz standards, she performs great jazzy arrangements of pop music including songs from the Beatles, Mamas and Papas and many more. See one of her shows at your next opportunity! You’ll be glad you did.
We love having Rene come play for our residents! She is a talented singer and wont ever disappoint you! Not only is her voice amazing but so is her heart! Thank you Rene for coming to Park Senior Villas at La Canada and always putting on a great performance! ❤️
Rene Taylor is extraordinarily talented and a fantastic singer! I enjoy her music every time I attend one of her shows! She is definitely a must see!

Always available to answer any question without hesitation. They work with you when purchasing an organ. They go out of their way to make the deal happen, not to mention they are all so friendly and put their best foot forward. Great place, no other description needed.
I never thought I would ever be able to play any instrument. Thanks to Daun’s patience, teaching skills, and caring to see that all of her students succeed, here I am actually playing! WOW! I own a Lowrey Marquee and love it. I really miss my in-store classes but thankful for ZOOM! Thanks to Robert Roman and John Riley for making Zoom available.
I had never played an instrument before coming to Fletcher Music Center in Tucson. What a thrill to play my favorite songs.
Takes advantage of the Wealthy elderly. My grandfather was charged over 80k for basic service work on a home use organ.
The worst place you can get an organ and not the best place to go guitar center is highly recommended employees are rude as well even the owner of the company.
From an early age I was subjected to informal music performance from both my parents. I started keyboard lessons in elementary school and continued until I was in college. When the Beatles hit our shores in the mid sixties, every kid on the block suddenly wanted a guitar and I was no exception. But it wasn’t until the late nineties before I took any guitar lessons. Since then my playing has been limited to the couch and bedroom, never with any other musicians. This year I had an opportunity to join a “Social Guitar” group of other adults with varying degrees of experience sponsored by Tempo Music. I wanted to break outta my shell and get comfortable playing with others and this 6 week session culminating in an “Open Mic” event was just the ticket. Tonya and Vince Hotz were gracious and generous hosts to this group and made all of us feel comfortable and welcomed in their home to meet for our group sessions and perform at the “open Mic” in their back yard concert venue. They plan on continuing with the “Social Guitar” groups and periodically hosting an “Open Mic” event periodically at this and other venues. Note: the “Open Mic” events will be open to other Tempo Music students and outside performers as well and serves as a great way to get performance experience under your belt.
I absolutely love the atmosphere at Tempo Music. Such a fun and friendly place to learn. I especially loved Tonya Hotz, she was very understanding with my schedule and helped me fine an instructor who best fit my needs. 10/10 would recommend
Just what we homeschoolers were looking for!! My kids are always super excited for their lessons and I’m excited we found a fun family environment with professional teachers that clearly have a love for what they do.
Untrustworthy and disappointing
No communication, harmful to child
11. The Folk Shop
Address: 2525 N Campbell Ave, Tucson, AZ 85719 , Marana , Arizona , United States
Amazing shop for used and vintage instruments of all kinds.
What a cool place! Had a wonderful time talking with them and checking out their unique inventory.
A really fun little shop to visit and hang out in. Really knowledgeable staff. Cool, interesting items to explore, learn about and purchase. I stop by whenever I can because there is always something new to see and play.
Cool little shop, not that wheelchair friendly but I was still able to get around. The staff I interacted with was very knowledgeable and helpful just looking for a harp for my daughter and he helped get it set up and answered all my questions and my daughters.
Such a cute little shop and my hubby loves his guitar
Fun music shop with a bunch of oddball (and not so oddball) instruments. Great place to stop in and browse for something unique.
I am absolutely incredulous as to how condescendingly I was treated over the phone by this place. I arrived with my Taylor 312-CE looking to trade up and quite likely spend substantial chunk of money. I noticed the posting on the door that read (I may be paraphrasing) “masks required even for those vaccinated.” I have been twice jabbed with Pfizer, but no problem. I get it. I understand it. People may not be fully honest about their status and might contaminate others. I have zero issue complying with the policy The posting also read “do not knock; call to be granted entry” (again, I may be paraphrasing, but this was the gist). I keep a KN-95 with me in the car but couldn’t find it. Maybe it fell behind the seat or something. I ring their number. A woman answers. Convo goes like this: “Hi, I noticed you require masks even for the vaxxed, which I am fully, but I can’t seem to find mine here in my car….I’m here outside….do you happen to have any masks there inside the store that you could pass out to me”? (like logical, sensible merchants across town, the state, the country have in abundance in case you forgot or can’t find yours—sterile ones for the taking in boxes) “If not, I don’t live too far. I can run home, grab one and come back”. The woman on the phone raises her voice and says “NO YOU NEED TO WEAR A MASK” and abruptly hangs up!! Um, I think I got that part and more than amply communicated it back. Wow. And delivered with a tone of voice akin to Mrs. Gulch from Wizard of Oz. I was perfectly polite, acknowledged the policy and was willing to go out of my way to comply. This is not only ridiculously bad policy, but there was not even basic intelligible, lucid communication on her part. Not the conduct of a sound minded individual.
Now, for some background. I have never made any major purchases at Folk Shop. However, I have patronized them over years–even before I moved to Tucson. The first time, I was recording an album visiting from Austin in 2014 and needed a dobro capo. The engineer called around to Guitar Center and few other places. They didn’t even know what a dobro was, much less a dobro capo. Folk Shop to the rescue with a Paul Beard capo, just like the one I had forgotten and left back in TX! I’ve been there since for strings, straps, stainless steel slides etc. Never ever the slightest of problems. What happened today is totally inexcusable. I myself have been fastidious and a stickler about masking and distancing throughout the pandemic, but this kind of post-mandate fanaticism, illogic and outright meanness is beyond the pale. They certainly don’t want my money or any of my future business. To hell with this place. l’ll buy a guitar from Musician’s Friend before stepping foot in there, even though I prefer to shop locally.
Well, over the years I’ve bought, sold, and traded with Paul and really wouldn’t do so again. The last guitar I purchased there had broken tuner barrels and more important, his pricing and moods vary wildly. Certainly lots to look at, but no great shakes in terms of quality or pricing.
Very rude disrespectful because I was asking for a part and I didn’t have a mask and I wasn’t trying to go in the place without permission and they were just very rude very very rude and I didn’t understand I was thrown off by it. Yelling at me for no reason all I wanted was a part I didn’t even try to go into shop told her I’d wait outside because I didn’t have a mask she slams door in my face. So I go get a mask and they won’t even deal with me I was the up most respectful and didn’t deserve that. Very very rude!!! I’ll never do business with them again.
They diagnosed my problem, told me how to fix it and tightened my truss rod for free. They know their stuff and don’t try to upsell you. They’re enthusiastic.
Awesome selection of new and used gear. Great customer service. You can’t ask for more.
Best guitar shop in this area!
Big selection! And Drums….
Lived in Tucson 20 years played lots of bars given Rainbow lots of $$$. Best selection in town, and the prices are fair. The Rainbow repair shop is great…providing you purchased the guitar from Rainbow. Otherwise…good luck. Sorry guys, but you know it’s true.
Spent several thousands here over the years, then they went to appointment only, which sucks. But I understand some business owners wanting to do this. I’ve also used their repair department a couple times and they do very good work. I just can’t see myself spending any more here unfortunately, I feel like if someone wants to purchase things online they will purchase things online. A storefront is there for a reason, so people can walk in and interact with the physical product. Sure you can still schedule an appointment but most all of my instrument related purchases have been somewhat spontaneous; aka walking in and browsing… If I want to buy online I feel like most will just default to sweetwater.
Place is a joke don’t waste your time
Employees don’t help at all
Go up bookmans instead way more friendlier and help full
Came into Rainbow Guitars disgusted with Guitar Center and their customer service or rather lack there of!
I moved to Tucson from Las Vegas 1.5 years ago and I have found poor customer service to be pretty much pandemic in Tucson in all businesses including the medical field!
My experience went exactly like this…….I was at the door waiting for the store to open at 10:30 am. I practically had $4,000.00 in my hand to spend on a new or used guitar I’ve always wanted. They didn’t have a Gibson ES 335 in stock new or used and I asked about a 336 because I saw one online in their used inventory. The salesman who’s initials are “Stefin” told me they didn’t have any in stock so we looked for probably 30 minutes in the Gibson website and found a brand new one I liked and the salesman who’s initials are “Stefan” took my number and said he’d call me next week! So I went home and when I got there I called the store, asked for the salesman who I’ll still refer to as “Stefan” and asked him again about the ES 336 I saw online. He then looks and says “oh I didn’t know we had this in inventory.”
The salesman I won’t mention his name, didn’t know his inventory, didn’t research his inventory when asked, directed me to the brand new guitars online which is obviously more money to them and it’s been nearly 2 weeks now and I still haven’t heard from Rainbow Guitars and the MIA salesperson commonly referred to as “Stefan!”
High end guitars with low end customer service! And I come from a service oriented town! So either Harvey & his shop here is making so much money that they don’t need my $4,000.00 at the end of the year? or it’s just more atrocious customer service in this cowtown?!
I need to start a business and then have this town hire me to teach them all Customer Service!
HEAD’S WOULD ROLL!!! Starting with a certain sales associate who lost the business and it’s owner $$$$ FOUR GRAND $$$$ and any return business!
And I called this morning to speak to the owner, left my number and it’s 5 hours later and no call! So there you go! Lead by example is a great business practice!
i used to always get gear here when they had more price variety, but currently there’s literally no gear that costs less than my car! no longer catering to the average struggling musicians that got them where they are, it now feels like an irrelevant museum full of old folks ready to slap your hand.. the repair dept next door is great tho
16. Resale Ranch
Address: 13645 W Sagebrush Rd, Marana, AZ 85653 , Marana , Arizona , United States
Clean, Organized, Treasures for everyone’s tastes!
The store has something for everybody! Great prices & fun stuff! The owner is great too! Definitely be back
Resale Ranch is by far the best thrift store in town that I have been to. So many objects from different time eras. Neat, clean and tidy. Every nook and cranny has something. The owner, is super nice and well informed on her product. Love, love, love this store. Many thumbs up to Resale Ranch, hope theybare around for a long time come.m
The owner is very personable. She has a good eye for fine and unique items in her shop. The prices are reasonable as well.
Really quite like the store and their selection, but it was disheartening to walk into the store and see the staff/employees all not wearing masks deep into the pandemic. It’s their business, but it feels harmful to put others in potential danger like that.
Not open on Saturday at 2pm?

they give great trade in value and always discount on whatever they have on hand.
God Bless America
God bless Metrognome music
And God bless Beau….what’s his name………. for putting up with all the crazy ass musicians in Tucson for all these years
Been becoming my favorite spot in town to get some music gear. Great selection of new and used gear. Fair if not great prices.
Great customer service
Way, way, way more than just buy/selling instruments!
Good selection, helpful staff, great rental rates, in-store repairs.
“Guitar section for employees only” unfortunately I didn’t bring my binoculars to look at guitar prices. I just went elsewhere.
I’ve read the experiences of other customers at this store and can’t believe that I am having such a negative experience with these guys! Granted the mistake was made on my part, but after realizing what had happened and returning the instrument in good condition and trying to fix the mistake, my wages were garnished for twice the amount of what the instrument was worth that I had rented! $1315.76 and now two and a half years later after I had paid in full they are trying to garnish my wages again for another $100. All of this was done without communication, I made a mistake after moving to a new house and packing the instrument away and forgot about it. I returned the item when I came across it unpacking immediately without notice. I wasn’t expecting not having to pay something, but to come back after having paid in full and after such a long time makes me wonder if the customers are really the focus of this store!
Will Rip You Off
I really wish I could give it to zero Stars they sold me used parts they didn’t do what they said they were going to do and they charged me for stuff that they didn’t even replace and tried to sell it as new they just left the old stuff on my bike and told me that they replaced it then they took old parts are used parts off of some other bike and charge me full price
19. McDonald’s
Address: 13934 N Sandario Rd, Marana, AZ 85653 , Marana , Arizona , United States
Clean, nice restrooms, friendly staff. What more can you ask? 🙂
Fast service and hot food. Kids raved over the burgers.
Muy bieno
Restrooms are always gross and never clean unfortunately.. Food isn’t bad but you really need to make sure you have everything because they always forget to add something..
Bathroom was clean
Fast service typical mcdonalds
There was no one at the front counter, while I waited 10 minutes to order my food. The customer service in general was just very poor
out of ten to fifteen times we have been they have messed or order 75% of the time. horrible service!
Asked for light mayo but got the full load.
