I bought a used guitar and took it to DTM for a setup. Daniel set up the guitar exactly how I asked: low action, specific tuning, and cleaned it up very nice. Daniel also took the time to fix one of the frets that was damaged from the previous owner. I will be using DTM for all my future guitar work.
Dan has performed miracles on 3 of my guitars (so far)…
The 1st was an acoustic with some particularly annoying dead spots above the 12th fret. The 2nd was an acoustic guitar that had a broken truss rod which he *welded back together*!. Finally, something I didn’t think was going to be possible, a right to left handed conversion (on an acoustic 12 string!!)
All of them play wonderfully now. I will definitely be bringing more guitars to DTM Guitarworks.

3. Sam Ash Music Stores
Address: 4644 E Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32803 , Union Park , Florida , United States
Currently owned a Taylor 312ce-N that I loved. Awesome playability, great sound and good looking guitar. I liked it so much I decided to upgrade since Sam Ash had a beautiful used Taylor 812ce-N which was even more beautiful, was supposed to sound better and I assumed the playability would be the same or better. At first I was mistaken and SOOOO disappointed. The guitar came from a Sam Ash store in NC and I’m in Florida. Everything about the guitar was awesome except it was extremely difficult to play. Decided to take a ride to the closest Sam Ash in Orlando Florida to see what they could do and possibly return the guitar. I can’t say enough good things about Rob at Sam Ash. He took both my guitars, the 312 and the new used 812 and compared them both with fine tuning care and attention. Fast forward a few days later I go back to pick up my guitar and try it out before taking the 2 hour drive home and it is perfect. Rob did a great job and now the 812 plays as good as the 312, has better sound and is more beautiful. I’M A HAPPY CAMPER AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND ROB THE GUITAR TECH AT Sam Ash IN ORLANDO FLORIDA. The overall experience with Sam Ash was great. Their willingness to either take the guitar back or fix it if possible was great and there was no charge since they considered it a first time set up. THANK YOU ROB AND Sam Ash!!!
The Mgmt of the East Hwy 50 Store is exceptional. They took care of my concern immediately. They sell high quality top-rated merchandise and offer an awesome array of in-stock inventory. I highly recommend any one looking at music instruments or considering any musical equipment purchase to start with Sam Ash.
I went to the store today 1/4/2021 to pick up an used piano I had on layaway and Anthony Murphy was very nice to us. But just as we were about to leave came this “somebody” I think his name was Tommy and started complaining about why Anthony sold us the piano (did he have another purpose for the piano than to sell it????? hmmmm suspicious) then he continued complaining because I requested to have the owners manual printed because it was not in the box. Very rude to have an employee embarrassed in front of a customer. Kudos to Anthony. He never lost his temper. I was about to loose it. That’s the reason why I gave them 3 stars. Dump this nobody. He don’t need to be there with that bad attitude.
Friendly staff, nice selection but limited on classical instruments.
Had a better experience here than i had at guitar center..
Their customer service SUCKS!! concerned with phone call customer service and nothing else. George just stopped with me without saying a word took a call then proceeded to leave recording section without a word to me
I have been a customer at the location before it was even Sam Ash and I would like to know who that guy was honestly I expect that it was probably the manager
Lame guitar selection. Whole store seemed to be Aimed at beginners. They had 1 decent amp head and an entire staff who knew nothing about anything. I drove two hours planning on spending over 5k instead I left with 4 patch cables and some extra picks. They didn’t have my strings or any suitable secondary option. I’ve seriously had better luck at flea markets.
Daniel in the drum dept.On Lee Road, now on hwy 50 in Orlando is the coolest guy to do business with.He has always taken good care of me when it comes to pricing & trading.I love Sam Ash.Thanks Daniel.
I was there last week to trade in my Performer Telecaster for a Professional.
A huge thanks to Caleb for all his help, and Ryan for setting it up on the same day…
These guys are awesome!!!
Sam Ash always has the gear I need and they sell it at a price I can afford. But more importantly, unlike the other big box music store in town, they still believe in customer service. And that is why they will continue to get my business.
Helpful but some of the STAFF are unfamiliar with Some OLD SCHOOL but STILL useful DIGITAL RECORDING MEDIUMS…I literally had to “train” one of the sales people. Good Stores and staff but sometimes you may have to educate them as well.
Had very good experience with the clerk.
Decent store and selection.
Eh, went there looking for cables and help, stood in an almost empty store waiting for upwards of 20-25 minutes for anyone to help me and nothing. Finally got help, not that impressed, will probably shop online from now on
I called and they transferred me to my desired department which just picked up and hung up on me. Called back immediately and they did answer the phone this time and said they were extremely understaffed and have a lot of stuff going on and asked if I could call back in 25 min.
Bad management will read this review and immediately blame the employee and where there is some blame to place because they could have just not hung up on me the first time I called, the real issue is understaffing your stores and choosing not to provide assistance as a manager. If a manager was around to help there’s no way an employee would feel comfortable picking up and hanging up on its customers. The fact that this employee felt like picking up and hanging up was acceptable is embarrassing for everyone involved but should be especially embarrassing for those who claim to be managing these employees.
Dropped off my ukulele there for a broken bridge that just needed to be glued back on, was told it would take 3-4 weeks, after 3 months with no update I called them to check on it and was told they had to order a special clamp and it would take another month to come in, after another 3 months with no contact from them I called back and was told they were still waiting on the clamp and couldn’t give me an estimate on how long it would take. At this point I decided to pick it up and try another music store, only to wait around for 30 minutes while they searched for my case because they had lost it, when finally found they told me it got mixed into their regular stock and was sitting on a rack to be sold. The wait time I can excuse, as how quickly a part comes in isn’t their fault, but the lack of any updates on their part and the fact they lost and almost sold my case is insane, wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and definitely have no interest in ever doing business there again. Also took it to guitar center after and they told me they could do it in 2 days total, so yeah, forget this place.
7. MARIACHI BAND EN ORLANDO FL / MARIACHIS EN ORLANDO FL / MARIACHI ORLANDO FLORIDA
Address: 1612 Gattis Dr, Orlando, FL 32825 , Union Park , Florida , United States
I hired Ravon for my 50th birthday bash… He was a HIT! Ravon was incredibly professional, fun, entertaining, and definitely brings the right vibe.
Do not hesitate to book!
We will rebook his services again at 2 more upcoming events.
If you are looking for a Steel drum musician to play your next party or corporate event look no further. Ravon is a professional at what he does and his talents go far beyond just playing world class island music – he is a great person and entertainer who is exceptional with executives and children alike. I have hired Ravon fo travel to our remote city on 2 occasions within the last 6 months… First I had him perform at a team building event for my company and most recently we brought him back to entertain our family at a Christmas party. On both occasions his music was tremendous and his reliability – responsiveness and attention to detail deserve praise. I love island music and Bob Marley, Jimmy Buffet, Peter Tosh are a few of my favorite artists… Not only can Ravon play all of their jams – he also surprised us with Queen, UB40, Zac Brown Band and Louis Armstrong. Furthermore – at our holiday party he played Christmas and holiday hits for days to bring a seasonal and family vibe to the party that was perfect for the occasion. I highly recommend having Ravon travel to your next event … There is no better option.
Ravon is absolutely the best. He doesn’t just play music, he makes the party! No matter where or who is at your party, he works the crowd and gets everyone into the fun. If you want everybody to say best party ever, hire Steely. Ya mon!!!!
11. Band Room
Address: 3233 Curry Ford Rd, Orlando, FL 32806 , Union Park , Florida , United States
My overall experience was flawless. From placing the online order, to customer service and on time delivery. Everything was beyond my expectations. Thank you Band room. Keep up the great work!!!
My friend uses the valve oil from here to grease his tuba. He is very satisfied with the product and enjoys it. He’s swore to never buy valve oil from anywhere else until his last days.
My daughter’s high school suggested this place as they don’t have enough instruments to supply to the kids. To keep it short, staff was super helpful and friendly, they were able to answer all questions and had what we needed and prices were reasonable… highly recommend this for rentals or purchases if needed…they even do repairs and replacements.
Okay.
BAND ROOM is the company that my kids school suggests their students rent their instruments through. It appears that most people are pleased with their service. I am NOT one of them! The “MEET YOUR TEACHER” evening I signed a contract for my kids instrument rentals. I paid cash that evening and submitted my account information for a recurring bill for a duration of six months. The instruments were to be delivered that following Monday. We have yet to receive anything and I’m getting charged monthly for a service we have yet to receive.I have tried multiple times to reach someone in this company. I will never use them again and will inform anyone I know of my experience. MUSIC & ARTS is ABSOLUTELY % the company to go through. At least they actually provide the service they advertise for.
awful guitar teacher… rude and unprofessional. Stay away from this terrible place. I’m taking my business elsewhere
Previously a good experience here ruined by them not being open on a Friday afternoon when their listed hours posted on the building stated they would be open for 3 more hours. No explanation anywhere explaining why they were closed. 2 hour round trip plus $10 in tolls wasted. Sorry but they are fired for this one.
Allen is the man. I had a less than favorable experience last time I was here, but after a short conversation with him about gear, it all got turned around. I will buy my pickups and have them installed here just for because of his customer service.
Been doing business with the Winter Park store since it opened. I have dealt with many of the sales people there and have developed some great relationships. I’ve also developed a good relationship with each of the managers and the district manager and they have all treated me with great respect, friendship, and professionalism. Without exaggeration, I have done almost a half million dollars in transactions with this particular store and it’s California Vintage department. On two occasions they have flown personnel from California to my home here in the Orlando area to purchase various instruments from me. In short, it’s been a good experience for many reasons and for many years.
Most of the time the salespeople and managers have taken my history of dealings with them into consideration when working a deal and that has always been appreciated and in my opinion, that’s the way it should be. Loyal customers who have a good attitude deserve good, and in some cases, special treatment. I might add that this fairness and consideration has always been factors not taken for granted by me.
One thing I have noticed about the “New Guitar Center” is that they no longer give consideration to how much business a loyal customer has done with them. It appears to me that they are moving into the direction of somewhat strict adherence to retail pricing which in my opinion is bad for them in the long run and certainly not good for their customers. Corporate so often sucks.
Having said all this, I will continue to do business with the Winter Park store because I like the current manager and many of the sales people, particularly Rob Arthur, whom I deal with mostly. It’s just getting harder to purchase things at a desirable price. I don’t blame the Winter Park store but as I said already, corporate so often sucks and in many cases cause their own destruction by alienating their customers. Just saying…
Really helpful and know more than I thought they would.
The music production/DJ section was quite empty. Possibly going under renovation? In any case, the Guitar Center down on OBT is a better stocked location.
Great selection of gear…… but the sales associates are not interested in speaking with you unless you are a young pretty girl.
The quality of customer service in the drum department (and overall) has gotten worse over the past few years. I called in to ask and confirm specifically what was in stock (supposedly). I spent an hour out of my weekend driving there only to find out none of the items were actually in stock. I’d leave a worse review if it weren’t for some positive experiences with this location in the past.
Definitely not the friendliest place in the world.
Couldn’t get the time of day in that place. Won’t be shopping there again.
The store and it’s sales employees are great but it gets a one star review for the lousy set up job that was performed on my guitar. Everything past the 13th fret had an incredible amount of buzz. When adjusting my pickup height, they adjusted it too low and one of the springs for the screws was stuck to the pick up magnate and they just left it as it. It wasn’t intonated. The girl who worked on it offered to have me bring it in again but was scared to let them touch it again in fear of them potentially doing damage to my instrument.
It took 15 minutes to buy a box of reeds
15. Gary Underwood Music Shop
Address: 4949 N Pine Ave, Winter Park, FL 32792 , Union Park , Florida , United States
Extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. Will definitely be back. Loved every aspect of my interaction and left extremely happy. Whether you are a pro or someone like me coming back to playing after a 20 year break they will help you with whatever you may need.
I went to this place today and the service is exceptional. They are very kind and knowledgeable, they give you the best advice for you and your instrument (not like other places that the only thing they want is your money). I highly recommend coming to this place if you have any issues with your instrument.
Very good work
Their instrument maintenance and repair has become questionable. Not sure what happened to their repair staff.
Not nice or friendly. Take your instrument to a different place if it needs a repair.
16. Smartpunk’s Record Shop
Address: 12078 Collegiate Way, Orlando, FL 32817 , Union Park , Florida , United States
They’re good people, very fair with trades, and willing to talk music with old guys like me. I don’t know why anyone would give less than a 5, y’all need to reevaluate your life choices .
Nice small record shop. They had an amazing selection for a small shop. If I’m in the area this is a must go for me. The only thing that I think is a minus is the staff. I’ve had better and more helpful staff in record shops, but I bet if I would have asked I would have recieved more help. A great place overall!
Great store with a pretty strong selection. It’s all in a small space however so prepare to be shoulder to shoulder with a stranger as you browse. Fortunately, most of the clientele take hygiene seriously so it’s all good. Also staff is friendly but stay out of your way unless you need something, so you can shop in peace.
Nice local record shop. Decent selection if you like pop or oldies. Will return again
I couldn´t recomend you to anybody, I’m having A LOT of troubles with a purhcase I did in your site, I was reading other reviews an much people had the same problem, UNBELIEVABLE, men!, you´re representing many bands and many people, and I think you’re not woerried about it, I’m still waiting for an answear!
I’ve seen cockroaches around the place and they have sections for artists that they don’t even have any records for (Dave Matthews). The selection also isn’t nearly as wide as other stores in Orlando.
Horrible customer service. They cancel my order after I am waiting and waiting for day. So I find another copy from another vendor which literally ships it the same day. So next day Smartpunk sends an email saying it was a mistake the order wasn’t canceled! Is this some kinda joke? I just want my order canceled and my money back. No response to any emails. No refund. They clearly do not know what they are doing.
17. Discount Music Center
Address: 3301 Gardenia Ave, Orlando, FL 32805 , Union Park , Florida , United States
Jess was awesome helping us with our first orchestra instrument! She made it easy to understand & answered all of our questions!!!
I liked the service given by the the attendants here.and very satisfied with the Violin cleaning Polish they gave me
Staff was very helpful and nice!
A tidy and cozy string shop with the instruments, books and accessories. I wanted to put three stars, but I believe I was dealing with a trainee so that would not have been fair. The process took one hour and thirty minutes to rent a single 16.5 viola and case. Additionally, they had to “find” the case in a shed outback – uhhh! What made this experience frustrating is that there was only one customer ahead of us and he was checking out.
Full disclosure – my son and I came in and he was immediately fitted to a viola, and rest. Then time just stopped! We exercised patience until time creeped into another event that we needed to be. We allotted 45 minutes in and out of the shop. However, with a single customer ahead of us going on 1.5 hours with very little movement, that was unacceptable. In other words, a full shop would have warranted more time.
How this shop salvaged their rating. They simply acknowledged my frustration, and took my pointed, but respectful disdain to heart to speed the process up and get us out the door. Plus, they threw in some string oil to boot. Clean and crisp customer service saved the rating, but no reason to have a customer stand around as long as we did for a single rental.
Do not get my rating wrong, we were treated fair, and with respect. The representative and trainee were knowledgeable, cheery and engaging. We will be returning in the very near future and hope that we have a better experience to upgrade to 5 stars.
My experience with Atlantic Strings was absolutely amazing. Kim helped me pick out a beautiful violin that fit my needs and my budget. She was knowledgeably and wasn’t too pushy. I felt at ease while making my purchase and will definitely be using this shop for my violin needs in the future. Highly recommend.
Muy bueno atienden con entusiasmo al cliente.
Store was 25 minutes late opening. Decide to wait around, when they finally arrived,15 minutes late, the lady at the register was rude.
Very expensive. Crazy
This was my first experience with Atlantic Strings. The ordering process didn’t go well, as well as the packaging/delivery of my order. I sent emails to the Melbourne and Orlando stores describing the problems. I received a call from Samantha, sales manager in the Melbourne store. She was very apologetic and immediately sent me the receipt I’d been requesting. She also promised to speak with the people in the Orlando store to make sure their online orders are handled properly and customer service is is improved. Thank you Samantha.

I likr tacos they have great food here but i would say or suggest that you get the breakfeast sausage becase its better than anything ive tasted with my taste buds ever before go here every day #musicalfood
Wonderful customer service and great prices on instruments! This place also offer lessons on a variety of instruments.
We walked in about 20 minutes before they closed and were greeted warmly qith, ‘We will be right with you’, by the store manager. So we were immediately acknowledged and very pleasantly. Very attentive and thoughtful. Gave off the vibe that they would’ve stayed all nite to help us out. Laid back and relaxed. A small store, that is expanding, is comfortable, clean, inviting and pleasant. You can find anything you need and I imagine that if they don’t have it in stock they will find it for you. And the prices are AMAZING!!
The staff was very helpful in answering my questions even though they didn’t have a Cello my son’s size in stock it was a very informative visit
Tienen confianza en el cliente y lo dejan que busquen lo que desean, buena atencion y tienen variedad.Deben buscar un lugar mas amplio.
Would give them 5 but their shipping sucks
These people are a rip off. My daughter returned her instrument to the orchestra teacher LAST YEAR and they are still charging my card for a rental fee. I have called several times and still nothing has been rectified and on top of that I was told I may not even be fully refunded for all the times they have charged me for this instrument that she no longer has. I am going to have my attorney put a stop to this because it’s wrong and no one deserves to have their money taken and they are very well aware that she doesn’t have their property abymore ! Fed up with the run around!
Prices are much higher than guitar center, musicians friend and wwbw, and yet, music and arts is owned by guitar center. Music lesson prices are ridiculously higher than everyone else. Have to go into a store to apply for a credit card? Ridiculous!! They need to offer an online credit application like the rest of the world. Will not do business with music & arts for these reasons.
Lied about shipping books next day, then did not have the decency to contact me so I could go to Tampa to get the books I needed.
Second Post: Today I received the package that I had canceled because it was not going to arrive three days ago as promised. I was told by the person at corporate she would cancel it-she did not. Another lie. I had purchased a book at the store a couple months ago and found, when I got home, it was missing the pull-out violin part. I was told it did not come with it. I had purchased that book dozens of times over the years and it did. I ordered it through another company and it did have the pull-out part. Another lie.
