I’ve always had great experiences with Marion Music. I’ve used them for audio/video rental and they’ve always been responsive, high-quality, and a good value. I’ve rented wireless microphones, speakers, sound boards / mixing boards, and everything else needed for an event with audio. They show up on time, the equipment works great, and they have always been responsive to all my needs. Highly recommended!
Skip and his cree are going reat
I would not recommend this place to anyone for any reason. Tried to rip me off. Rental equipment is old and dirty. Go somewhere else.
3. Sound Exchange Music
Address: 2906 NE 14th St, Ocala, FL 34470 , Marion County , Florida , United States
What an awesome store. I was treated like family the moment I walked in. I started taking lessons from the owner and he is amazing. Now I’m a customer for life.
Tim & Jody Roberts love you guys!
I’ve been going to Sound Exchange for about 30 years and have spent A LOT of cash there over the years. It all started with my twelfth birthday when my dad got bass guitar lessons from Johnny and I’m 47 now. Wow time fly’s! They’re the best group of guys you could ever ask for!
Great place to go for music
always helpful!
They have very experienced workers and they know what they are doing and they have great equipment
Owner is not a man of his word.. and tries to rip you off ..I prefer Guitar Center.
Their rental side needs a lot of work. Lots of problems: #1 Nearly 3 HOURS LATE to deliver tables and chairs for an event is unacceptable. I had to call the office repeatedly because I was not receiving any updates. The office told me they couldn’t reach their drivers that had the items loaded on their trailer (who were apparently in Belleview). It took my 4th phone call to check on the late delivery before I ever even received an apology. The delivery guys that showed up were rude and when I mentioned how late they were, their response was “we didn’t know we had a schedule to deliver these” which is ridiculous. I told them their office told me they couldn’t reach them and they said ‘they hadn’t received one phone call from them’. #2 They need help with their customer service – every time I called they were short and acted like I was bothering them – even my first time to ask questions. #3 Their new online system still has a lot of issues. I had to call the office to pay and to later make changes, because it wouldn’t let me log in (without getting error messages). And after all the issues, and the survey I submitted, I never once heard from a manager or owner to apologize.
Rating is based on one bad experience in this establishment. I arrived and was looking at starter bass yet they offered. I did not like the Amp that came with the set. I asked the gentleman that was helping if I could upgrade to a bigger bass and pay the difference, he explained he had to ask his manager. Another gentlemen came out who was nicely dressed and said he was the manager and he would allow me to exchange the bass for a upcharge. When I was ready to checkout another guy comes over rude and says he isn’t gonna allow it. When I explained the manager said he would do it. This gentleman very rudely said he doesn’t sign the paychecks I do. Now I have always lived by a couple major rules on being your only as good as your word. This establishment did not live by there word.
4. Broke ‘n Records Music & More
Address: 2750 E Silver Springs Blvd Unit 205, Ocala, FL 34470 , Marion County , Florida , United States
3rd best record store on Earth behind only Amsterdam and Detroit Rock City. Owner is totally friendly and helpful. Selection is ridiculously awesome. Prices are even better. Easily the best record store in Ocala.
Awesome record store, super chill owner. I found some used records there at a great price and excellent condition for what I paid for.
If you are looking for classic used records at a reasonable, this is the place to go.
This is a great store. For so long, I have been wanting to find vinyl records to increase my collection. The ones you find at tag sales and flea markets just are not worth it, the quality is bad. But Broke ‘n Records sells better quality discs that sound excellent on any turntable. Highly recommend this business to any record collector or music enthuist!
Very helpful in getting what we needed. Didn’t have item but able to order. Waiting for it’s delivery. Always a friendly place to do business with.
Friendly staff, everyone was helpful and went above and beyond my expectations…..
It’s guitar center plain & simple, they have everything for any instrument and if they don’t have it they’ll order it. Ocala store was great, people were very helpful & know what there doing, Top notch in my book. Now go get the gear you need to be the rock star you always wanted to be but yr mom told you you’d never make it.
It’s okay. They’re not what they used to be, though. They do not enjoy taking trade-ins so that you can trade-up and that’s what we’ve always done for many years. There is not a whole lot in stock, so if you want something, CALL FIRST to make sure they have it. Not to mention, every single time we go there, they’re in no hurry whatsoever and we end up being stuck in the store, waiting for the employees to do our transactions (trade-ins and new purchases), for at least an hour to an hour and a half! My back always hurts when I leave the store just from Waiting! We just don’t have that kind of time to spend, so we make sure not to do it often!
Friendly and knowledgeable staff!
Alot to choose from
I wonder why it takes thirty minutes to checkout when all you’re trying to buy are picks.
Guitar center employee tried to make me wear a mask while I was 20′ from anyone, actually the soy boy in question was the only person within 10 feet of me or my wife. He told me it was corporate policy, I explained politely (at first) that I was not a corporate employee. He then told me that they would not accept my business without a mask. So I took my business to Parramore music in Ocala, it was a hassle free (and mask free) experience.
Cancel corporations that have no respect for your personal freedom.
Make sure it’s not on police hold….
Not typically one to leave a review. We are in town for a family event, and we’re looking for something to do. Found a couple of pedals and tried them out looking to buy. I was able to buy one but the other I was told was in police hold for another week. I was told I could put it in layaway and buy it if the hold came up that it wasn’t stolen. We are 8 hours from home, and I would have to pay tax and shipping to my house. He asked if I really wanted to buy it, that’s why I had my wallet out. He said they normally have tags out that say that but they had trouble printing. There were 5 other pedals brought in by the same person. Please educate employees. I’ve shopped at guitar center stores in 5 states and bought a bunch of gear and never encountered this.

Great store and friendly staff! Large selection will not leave you going home empty handed.
This is the very best Vinyl shop around! Very knowledgeable about all the different genres in music! They have you covered with equipment as well as a huge selection of albums to dig through! Go see for yourself! You won’t be disappointed!
Went here for my first visit today was greeted and assisted by the friendly and helpful owners and found a few albums I was looking for very reasonably priced.I will be a return customer!
Poor customer service, very disrespectful with customers, there are better vinyl records stores in Ocala.
8. KnoxBoyz Cd’s & Dvd’s Spot
Address: 1211 NW 10th St, Ocala, FL 34475 , Marion County , Florida , United States
Not impressed – I called for tires and the guy laughed when I told him my budget – I had a Mazda 3i and I said I wanted tires that handled the wet roads well and I said my budget was 400.00 , he told me he could not come anywhere near my budget and suggested I buy 2 now and when I could afford 2 more to bring it back , WHAT ?!?! – I was so puzzled as their online sight had numerous tires under 100.00 each , so I called around and in 2 minutes talking with Mike at Tire Kingdom I had 4 new tires and it came in under budget and they were great tires
Though we only met Sam once, we can never forget this wonderful fellow. He is an absolute expert to his craft. He is on top of his business. A sincere honest man who is not after his costumer’s pockets.
We wish Sam all the best !……….HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ******
I have an evh frankie clone I finished and assembled from a chinese kit. I upgraded everything but the neck and body….. It looks and sounds great but no matter what I did, I just couldn’t get the thing to play right for me. I ran into all the little issues you can expect from a budget kit guitar with a floyd rose! I brought my good looking, great sounding pile of frustration to Sam and in one day, I got back a guitar that plays as well as my prs mccarty. I was floored.
Sam is a miracle worker!! Friendly, fast and an absolute master of his craft.
Sam is a Master and a Hell of a nice guy! Just check out his Facebook page and look at the work he’s doing. Also very reasonably priced.
Sam knows what he’s doing! He does it all. Great guy. Communicates well and gives you options. Great prices. Support small business!
