Authentic professional and fair salespeople with a vast selection of vintage and present day items. Just going inside and visiting uplifts your spirits. Great place for beginners and seasoned professionals. Go there for my teenage son’s needs
A local music store ran by a knowledgeable owner. John has good instruments for sale at decent prices. If you have any questions regarding guitars, amplifiers, or their many accessories John can answer them.
Awesome Shop. I left my Banjo down in Mexico. I really wanted to keep up with my lessons. I called John and asked if he had any banjo’s. He said to come and take a look. He had one almost ready to go. We talked and made a deal. He said it would be ready next week. I left and thought about it and called back to see if he could get it ready sooner because I was going crazy with nothing to do. He said he would work on it and call me back by 4pm. I’m super excited to start my lessons again. Thanks John for taking good care of me. I truly enjoyed sitting out front of the store talking about all kinds of things. You Rocked it.
wouldn’t give it even one star! I just went in to grab some guitar strings and was never once acknowledged the whole time I was there. Not even a greeting. needless to say I walked out. Not sure what the deal is in this town but I have yet to encounter any sort of professionalism with the businesses here!!!
Low quality gear that is way over priced.
2. The Blue Note
Address: 3250 Gateway Blvd #262, Prescott, AZ 86303 , Mayer , Arizona , United States
Best guitar shop I’ve ever been to! Fantastic customer service, went to several different shops looking for a first guitar. None of the other shops showed the same respect for a beginner artist.
The owner has great knowledge, and worked on my wife’s guitar while we waited.
This is such a wonderful music store. The staff are amazing and the selection is fabulous!
Listed as open on Monday. Drove from Spring Valley to find them closed. Need to correct this.
The owner is a pretty cool guy. Very knowledgeable on everything in the store. He has also made guitars for some of the biggest names in music history.
The owner of this establishment is beyond rude, he didn’t answer any questions (which I believe is because he has 0 knowledge of anything pertaining to his little business) and he over prices everything. I understand it’s a local business so prices will be higher but his USED banged up instruments are at least 70% higher than anywhere else for the same NEW instruments which is unreasonable.
I’ll be shopping at a honest local music shop.
Thank You
3. PRESCOTT VALLEY MUSIC – PV MUSIC
Address: 8561 Florentine Rd suite a, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314 , Mayer , Arizona , United States
Wonderful experience in a store with all kinds of musical instruments. I came in looking for something specific but left with something even better.
As a sound healer, playing the instruments before purchase is so important.
The crystal harp I purchased resonates beautifully. I’m so grateful to have found it. Playing the harp brings balance, healing and joy!
Thank you!
These folks are amazing!! I went into get our son some equipment. He is getting interrested in writing and making music. I know nothing about what he needed. Russ and his lovely wife answered all my questions and more. More business should have there level of customer service.
Russell, the owner of PV music, was beyond helpful. I called at 4:00PM on the dot as they were closing and he had mentioned he wasn’t there but if I needed something he would come from home and assist my needs. And that he did, not only did he meet me at the store 30 minutes after closing, he sold me a brand new item for $100 cheaper than they go for online. I could literally sell it for more than I paid if I really wanted to. Great store, great selection of items, and most of all great ownership and staff. 10/10 would recommend PV Music to anyone. And thank you again, Russell!
I stopped by Prescott Valley Music looking for someone to repair my flute. Even though they specialize in guitar repair, he fixed my flute within minutes at no charge. I will definitely go back with my guitar needs.
Went there with a friend.
Sadly, and most regrettably, I must report that Russell, the proprietor of PVM, used his prior good business standing to consign, endorse, solicit, directly accept partial payment for, a fraudulently, utterly misrepresented $3k instrument, that is so INTENTIONALLY damaged (a 40” gong, sawn into THREE parts, then poorly soldered back together) that it is basically rendered useless as a musical instrument. He also personally/professionally arranged for its delivery and attested to the instrument’s ‘excellent’ condition (all in email and voicemails, still retained as evidence).
Initially responsive, and seemingly aghast, he and the seller he worked with, and as agent for, now decline to correspond or address this, each saying neither or the other is responsible.
A $3k scam?????
BEWARE!!
Don’t buy vinyl from them
I think all they sell is USED. Even patch cords. 🙁 Totally disgusting and disappointed.
4. Soundroom
Address: 3050 N Windsong Dr Suite#103, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314 , Mayer , Arizona , United States
It’s okay , inside the Mall , didn’t have what I was looking for .
Great store… decent prices. Went in for a used classical guitar and came out with a nice one. Came with case even. Added an American -made humidifier, works well. Smaller place, but has the important things. Recommend highly
It’s okay place kind of small
Burned by this store over a Reverb purchase. I paid $450 total for a mini french horn they advertised as in “excellent” condition. When I recieved the horn I started noticing that the 3rd valve doesn’t close and open all the way disrupting airflow when pressing and depressing. Even after oiling the valve, there was no change. This horn is non-functional to a player. 1st the store decieded to deny any return or exchange to address the issue immediately. Then I tried to contact Reverb customer care and tried demonstrating this in a video to them. Both the seller and Reverb responded with a guilty until proven innocent skepticism that left me stuck with an unplayable horn. It took a lot of hassle and time away from normal living dealing with both of them. I would advise anyone not to buy a brass or woodwind instrument from this store unless you can inspect it first. Either they don’t play the instrument themselve, or they knowingly sold an unplayable instrument not caring.
I have played horn (F horn) semi-professionally for over 22 years in wind bands, orchestras, and jazz ensembles. I also have extensive knowlege of major brands and makers and designs of horns and am qualified to advise other players.
Sux
pretty bad guitar setup. took over a day and went to pick it up and the guitar was dirty. they didn’t even clean it there was dust all over it. there was a loose screw in the saddle i had to fix. low e string buzzing worse than before. save your time and your money and go to a better place.
5. Tommy Rocks
Address: 110 Main St, Jerome, AZ 86331 , Mayer , Arizona , United States
Rare and Collectible Albums, Instruments and Memorabilia.
I would do this place a disservice by calling it a vintage record store. It is that too, but it’s so much more!
The owner operator is a guy named Tommy Anderson. Aside from being a musician and a defacto musicologist he’s also a great guy and very interesting to talk to.
If you’re into music, his shop is full of fun and fascinating items . Beyond the obligatory Grateful Dead stickers and things like that, he carries things like thousand-piece Pink Floyd puzzles and satirical takes on traditional album covers. He also carries a lot of high-end, really impressive autographed instruments and record albums. Even audiophiles will find equipment that will make their mouths water.
On the other hand if you just want to buy a ukulele or guitar to learn on, he can help you with that and give you great advice as well.
He’s also an accomplished musician and a music teacher.
His store is part museum, part music store, part curio store, and supports local musicians. It’s hard to beat!
If you’re in Jerome and like music history and music paraphernalia, or if you’re a serious collector, you really need to stop in and see this place. While you are there, say hi to Tommy for me. I really had a blast in his store!
Make sure to take a look at some of the photos I posted, to give you a better idea of what you might find in there.
It Rocks
Super knowledgeable and great guy – everything you could want in a music store – especially if in the market for a nice ukulele!
An awesome rock and roll memorabilia shop in historic Jerome Arizona…kind of hard to find tho.
Dude man. Stick to some normal operating hours. I’ve passed through Jerome twice now and you haven’t been opened when you said you were supposed to be. It’s 10:30 am now says your supposed to be open on google. Sorry for the poor review but really wanna check out your store
6. Daniel’s Guitar And Coin Shop
Address: 605 White Spar Rd, Prescott, AZ 86303 , Mayer , Arizona , United States
Daniel created a custom Tele for me & did setups for 2 other guitars. Just got my 12 string back. Could not be happier with all of them. Absolutely perfect. Highly recommended!
Great job on setting up my acoustics
Dropped my guitar while playing and it landed on the cable plugged into the jack which bent both the cable and the receptacle inside the guitar. Figuring I’d have to drop it off for a couple of days, made due for worship service at church to take it in Monday. To my much appreciated surprise, Daniel fixed it in 10 minutes and at a great price. As his slogan says, “he’s my guitar guy” from now on.
Highly recommend.
7. Gray Dog Music
Address: 231 N Cortez St, Prescott, AZ 86301 , Mayer , Arizona , United States
Great hometown guitar store. Addison is always helpful and friendly.
Great experience, they made us a great deal on a vintage 1950’s banjo for my daughter, they even had the original case and they threw in some picks too. Will go back for sure, thanks Grey Dog!
One of the employees, Sean, is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled with guitars. The whole shop is top tier, and Sean certainly knows what he’s doing.
Its a nice store really small some prices are expensive but overall good store nice customer service
It’s a nice store with a fun selection in a variety of price ranges but I wanted to buy a guitar and no one would talk to me, even when I stood at the register for a few minutes or asked for help I was ignored. I ended up going elsewhere.
Great atmosphere and good service. The special of a day which was a beef salad was rather mediocre and tasteless.
Gray Dog music is only good for when you need something in an emergency, otherwise there’s no point is paying those prices. Prices that you only realize are so high when you get all the way to the register since almost nothing in the store has a clearly marked price on it. You have to individually inquire for every item… Even there used equipment was priced similarly to buying it brand new elsewhere. To top it off the gentleman working the counter actually got short with me because I kept having to ask what all there stuff cost. Horrible experience would not recommend to my worst enemy.
Parking: The parking is the ONLY good thing about Grey Dog Music.
It’s a nice store. But they only sell guitars and related supplies. The pedal selection was weak if I was looking for pedals I would go online. Pretty much zero music scene in Prescott anymore. They cater to trendoids in my opinion. The selection was a huge bummer for me nothing but acoustic guitars.
8. Arizona Music Pro
Address: 122 E Rte 66, Flagstaff, AZ 86001 , Mayer , Arizona , United States
Sooo helpful in repairing our kiddos first guitar. Took out the buzzing, repaired the string, showed us how to tune etc and made our kid excited to learn the guitar. Great place!
Brought my violin in for a pretty serious job and Aspen, the violin repair specialist, did an excellent job shaping my new amplified bridge by hand. She was very knowledgeable and really helpful answering my questions. I would definitely recommend her for any future business!!
AZ Music Pro is great and Neil is the best. Neil fixed my son’s guitar string, taught him a couple of things, and didn’t charge us for labor. Super nice guy.
なかなかの品揃えだがわざわざここで買い物することもない。
This shop has a wide variety of instruments, and some beautiful violins that I was able to try out. The staff is very friendly and helpful there, and the shop is organized, clean, and spacious. Now to save up for that violin!
Brought a PRS in to have the intonation adjusted. Quoted me one price, and upon picking it up, they charged an additional $15, and nobody could answer why. They said the “luthier” (and I use that term lightly) would call me and tell me why the price was more. That never happened. Upon getting the guitar home, the strings were set so low they were absolutely unplayable. Fret buzz on every note. The intonation was off on all six strings. And the worst part is one of my bridge screws was lost and replaced with a screw that doesn’t match. Complete waste of money. First and last time they get my business. Sub standard work, and poor customer service.
To follow up… Neil called me several times to follow up and make things right. I missed the call each time but he left messages stating he would correct the problems. Unfortunately I’ve moved away from the area so unable to take him up on his offer, but it is much appreciated. He was willing to go out of his way to make it right for me.
I had drove an hour there to get a Single guitar string for my new guitar, I had also had problems with the amp I bought from them not working with my mic to amp transducer I also bought from them. So I bought a new transducer with no regards from them on the fact that the other didn’t work as if I was the one putting them out. I ended up spending 50$ on cords etc. and when I had said I didnt know how to put on the string and asked for help I was told to go on YouTube and that I should just go home and figure it out from an extremely unhelpful short tempered demeanored guy named “Jack”. I’m disappointed I decided to try and make this place my go to for equipment.
Not going to sugarcoat my experience!
As soon as I pulled into the parking lot, a man came out and asked me if I was going to be long! What? I literally just pulled in.
I said “oh, do you need me to move”?
He didn’t reply and stormed back into the store. So I walked into the store and asked him “is there a problem? Do you need me to move my vehicle” He said “as long as I’m coming in, that I was good”. I said “yea, I’m coming in” I was ready to make a purchase but the guy left a really bad taste in my mouth.
He had a bad attitude from the second I pulled in. So, I left!
Not a good experience at all!
Not the greatest selection, and the workers didn’t seem to care that we were even there. Played on some of the instruments a bit, but nobody offered help or advice or anything. They seemed to be out of stock on quite a few items I asked about – but they were “getting some in next week”. OK, sure.
9. Joe’s Vintage Guitars – We Buy Guitars!
Address: 47 N Fraser Dr E, Mesa, AZ 85203 , Mayer , Arizona , United States
Professional and friendly service! Joe addressed all my concerns and finished the job in a timely manner. I highly recommend Joe for all of your guitar maintenance needs.
Great place! Awesome deals, Joe ROCKS!
Quality service and quick turnaround. Don’t go anywhere else! I brought in two guitars that needed a little more work beyond a typical setup and Joe worked with me and included it all in his normal setup price. I still paid for strings and a couple other parts but that’s to be expected. One was done two days later and the other one about week later just because he had to wait on a part. I absolutely recommend Joe’s Vintage Guitars and will definitely be going back.
Helped with an appraisal for me. Quick and easy.
Been loving this place for quite a while. Nice folks, always helpful and great selection. Prices are a bit out of control, however. Squier bullets for $40 over new price. Used guitars priced same or higher than new (hence 3 stars) but always fun to look and sometimes the odd fairly priced piece in there as well, though you’ll get most things in there brand new for considerably cheaper.
Very surprised by my experience since this business has so many 5 star reviews. Sent texts and emails & left voicemails but have never received any response whatsoever in nearly a week. Left to wonder if I ever will.
Beware. Got the rug pulled out right from under me now refund is taking weeks. Very tough to buy vintage from a seller like this. Not honorable. Plenty of good guys out there why have any shade. You’ve been warned.
Rude customer service from the minute I got on the phone with them.
10. Lost Dutchman Music Company
Address: 1000 W Apache Trail Suite 125, Apache Junction, AZ 85120 , Mayer , Arizona , United States
Fantastic shop! Fantastic customer service! The owner is so nice, helpful & professional every time I’ve been there. Had a beautiful custom Strat built there & love it! I’d recommend this place to anyone! Go there! You will be glad you did!
The best experience ever!!!. Felt like I was talking with a friend about guitars instead of someone trying to sell a guitar that corporate wants to push.
Exactly what you want in a music shop! The guys there are authentic folks that just want to help the music community with what they need. No pressure, good conversation and not music snobs. I am just a beginner and it can be intimidating to go into the chain music centers. These guys made me feel right at home without being judged. So thrilled to have this here in our area!
Friendly people. Both knowledgeable and reasonable priced.
I moved down here at the request of the owner with a very small incentive, the very least he could do. During my tenure, I learned he does not pay employee taxes… I also learned that he was spying on me in his adjacent office via webcam…I have reason to believe he was instrumental in my being robbed of $40,000 worth of My personal music gear As I was informed by my girl that he was present in my home when I wasn’t, as was Sam. I should add that Sam That does repairs repeatedly did substandard work when it came to setting up action and truss adjustments which I had to rectify myself. I gave my all to help them build a business and brought Sam in who ultimately stabbed me in the back which caused me to lose all respect for him. I gave them one star because there was no lower rating available. I strongly discourage any self-respecting or serious musicians from doing business with them…(I should also add that in the 2 years since I’ve severed ties completely with Ken, he has persisted in making snide comments in an attempt to berate and mock me to a ridiculously immature end… He once was a friend, but his recent insinuations reveal his true character. Paybacks are not my thing, but in this case it is more than warranted. Let the chips fall where they may, this is your doing for A. the above treatment of me, and B. continuing to use My name in a derogatory fashion and mocking me in your posts. I would recommend Milano music in Mesa, they have a fantastic luthier and repair shop. They are top notch.
(In response to Ken’s response )As for the response by Ken himself saying if he sued me for libel he would win, that is a ridiculous response. A review be it good or bad is entirely reasonable for somebody to post publicly based on their experience with the business in question, and bad behavior does not get rewarded. These are my feelings and thoughts and people can judge based on their own thoughts and feelings. Had I not been treated this way, this review would not exist but it does because it’s true.
You take the good with the bad Ken, and it appears here that your own truth is a bitter pill for you to swallow. Nevertheless, I have to forgive you for this all and that isn’t for you, it’s for me. I edited the review for more concise content when I cooled off a bit after reading your “Post James” comment.
I would have loved nothing more than for this to have been a positive experience, but it wasn’t. I was thrown under the bus by you in such a disrespectful way that nothing is reconcilable outside of my forgiving you and that is for my own serenity and well being. Lesson learned.
11. The Music Store
Address: 2630 W Baseline Rd, Mesa, AZ 85202 , Mayer , Arizona , United States
This review is for The Guitar Service Center’s Brendan Dezember. His workshop is inside The Music Store. I have a classical guitar I use in my work that had a previous repair requiring cleats and the action was also too high due to a neck angle problem. Brendan determined a way short of repositioning the neck to make the action responsive and closed up and supported the crack that someone had previously repaired. Results: at a very reasonable cost my guitar sounds great, plays great-happy musician!
Extremely helpful staff. Great advice and excellent piano music inventory.
Friendly people. Sold me a great instrument
Great verify of sheet music and ukuleles and an awesome luthier.
Fui una vez a ver las guitars
The instruments we have rental have been pretty worn but still work well and it is an OK deal for the price. Customer service is helpful and friendly. We have been pleased with our violin rental over this past year and will continue renting here into the next school year.
I’m renting a clarinet and they gave it uncleaned (had old spit) and with broken parts. Horrible customer service. My tried fixing the first rental, but after a week, they just returned it without fixing anything.
I have been coming to this music store for years since I was a child. I know that their prices are higher than ordering online, but I’ve still paid their higher prices to support them. Today I came in with a question about how to get a simple cleaning rag, which was stuck, out of an instrument. The guy behind the counter was extremely rude did not answer any of my questions, told me that no one in the entire store had any experience with this sort of question. Sorry to say, but I will not be giving my business to the store any longer. I would recommend milano’s music, or ordering online.
Absolutely the worst service I’ve ever had, 3 people working and not one of them tried to help me whatsoever and 2 of them didn’t even acknowledge I was in the store! Very poor service
12. MayosMusic
Address: 2564 E Vía De Palmas, Gilbert, AZ 85298 , Mayer , Arizona , United States
Very pleased with my experience with Kurt, he fixed a guitar I brought into him. He’s very knowledgeable and very thorough. Thanks kurt!
Kurt is an absolute professional with an amazing background. He took my vintage Goya G10 from unplayable to a dream. Most importantly he was able to explain my issues and what it would take to fix in a manner that I could understand and his attention to detail was amazing.. His workshop is set up with an amazing array of tools and parts. I like that he is independent and works for you not a large store. Definitely a great find!!!
Great setup and nut replacement on my epiphone.
13. Milano Music
Address: 38 W Main St, Mesa, AZ 85201 , Mayer , Arizona , United States
Milano’s has attended to my son’s violin needs for over a year, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else! The staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Instrument rentals are reasonably priced, and they do a full range of repair and maintenance on instruments you bring in as well.
The Best Music store ever!!!!! Nothing but the best! for drummers don’t buy moon gels ask for the drumdots.
Best service.
Upon learning how long they’ve been in business, was impressed with how well the building has been maintained and the clean and friendly staff helped out immensly.
Large variety of instruments, onsite instrument repair. Very Impressed they fix guitars, acoustic and do good work.
Longtime local store that services the musicians who tire of the big chain stores
Staff in the repair shop were not the most friendly but we’re helpful. The shop was hard to navigate and hard to locate employees who could help. Staff members blended in with customers. I was able to get in and out considerably quickly. I appreciated the parking in the rear of the business. It was easy to find a parking spot and easy to get in and out of.
I was waiting in line for a rental for about 20 min given it is a busy time of the year but everyone who walked up after me got attended to first. Just seemed very selective which rubbed me the wrong way.
This place is the worst
RENTER BEWARE! Their “equity program” is worth Bupkes, Nada, Nothing. Only if your child elects to play with the same instrument when you terminate the contract. The instrument you “buy” with your equity is NOT SALEABLE.
14. Music & Arts
Address: 891 E Baseline Rd Suite 101, Gilbert, AZ 85233 , Mayer , Arizona , United States
A very knowledgable staff that works hard for exactly what you need. Highly recommend.
Helpful employee who gave me a discount once he found out I am a music teacher.
It’s a good shop with kind staff and great teachers. But it’s missing some TLC. Cello bow options are limited and there’s this huge tent inside that is just in the way
Definitely not as friendly or helpful as the Power location.
This place is a great place. They are helping navigate being the mom of an orchestra student and it’s a task! They are so nice about helping me figure out what book I need to get him and what size chin rest he needs. They’re super nice.
I’ve bought here a few times and have had good service. They just lost a sale when the female employee hurried in the door and locked it behind her, when all I was trying to ask her is what time they opened. Rude way to treat a potential customer.
We came in to buy a guitar, and was referred by a different location for more inventory selection. We were the only folks in the store with 1 employee. Although both of us were wearing masks, the employee corrected my mask positioning not once, not twice, but three times in a 10 minute period…. Small face problems and I guess a nostril was showing? Anyway not feeling very welcomed at that point or like they wanted our business, so we left to spend our money elsewhere.
Hi owner don’t reply to this also

15. Campos Music & Supplies
Address: 1241 E Broadway Rd #24, Mesa, AZ 85204 , Mayer , Arizona , United States
Off E Broadway Rd in Mesa, this store is in a strip mall. Well marked storefront—can see from street. Store is well stocked merchandise/inventory, variety of music accessories & electronic equipment. Very friendly knowledgeable staff. Reasonable prices.
Wonderful store. They took time to find just what we needed. The prices are very competitive compared to larger music stores. Great variety of beautiful guitars. Highly recommended.
Do you guys have different prices for different requinto
Good service and good prices
me puedes decir si tienes burros o boces para acordeon honner corona II de mi mayor y cuanto cuestan
Tienen muchas cosas pero no encontré lo que buscaba…
This store has the worst customer experience any music store in the Phoenix area has. Once you talk to the staff you know right away that their best interest is making money, not the customer. There are other stores with WAY better customer service such as Milano Music or Brindley’s Music Center. Campos Music is just full of ego.
Overpriced and RUDE staff
I do not recommend this store at all.
16. Music & Arts
Address: 7040 E Hampton Ave, Mesa, AZ 85209 , Mayer , Arizona , United States
I’ve been renting instruments from this location for several years now. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the manager Nikki is amazing! They are always able to help me with exactly what we need, or find the answer quickly. I’ll never go anywhere else.
Called to see if they had what I needed, quick and kind service. Thanks guys.
Nice store and friendly staff. Also good prices and decent selection. Got a good deal on guitar strings.
Great place to purchase or repair an instrument. Alwayd friendly and provides suggestions based on cost for anything the sale or service. Strongly recommend Music and Arts.
Staff is very helpful and experienced!
Buena variedad de música
Went to the Music and Arts store today to purchase drumsticks and lessons. Couldn’t use my Canadian Credit card or American cash? Very disappointed
NEGATIVE STARS IS MORE LIKE IT!!! I have had the WORST experience dealing with the customer service from Music and Arts. Everytime me or my husband try to call and resolve our bill we get told a different story! NOONE has helped us resolve the issue and it’s been over 4 months now. The amount of money I have paid Music and Arts already, I could have boughten an instrument. NOT worth the hassel and absolute HORRIBLE customer service!!! Save your money and time and go somewhere else!!
Spent my money elsewhere because of the masks requirement.
17. Majestic Music LLC
Address: 4431 S White Mountain Rd # C10, Show Low, AZ 85901 , Mayer , Arizona , United States
We were completely clueless when we went in and the gentleman helping us was AMAZING!! It was painfully obvious we didn’t have a clue but he was very informative and took the time to explain everything in great detail. We’ve been to a few other music stores around the state and always left more confused. But today we had a better understanding and an excitement to continue learning more about music!! Thank you Majestic!!
Great selection of products and friendly, knowledgeable home town service.
Been there a couple times, both people working there were great, helpful, willing to answer questions. Great selection available.
Great selection for a small store. Staff is very helpful.
Has some ok stuff
Good selection of products.
Oldest guy there was being very rude and threw an the amp cord that i was using while testing a guitar on the ground
18. Brindley’s Music Center
Address: 836 N Arizona Ave, Chandler, AZ 85225 , Mayer , Arizona , United States
Went in to have my violin repaired. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Violin was repaired by next day. Would recommend. 🙂
Very happy. Every time I’ve dealt with these folks it’s been a pleasure
Awesome service! My bass feels and sounds amazing now. Definitely my go to guitar shop from now on.
Good music store for those looking for something specific…not much to look at for those who want to look around or window shop (especially for drum equip). Other than that, it’s a good local music shop. They used to make their own brand of drumsticks, which were GREAT, but last time I went they said they no longer make them. Bummer!
This place is cool. Ppl are nice. IN THE HOOD IM LIKE PRINCESS DIANNA!!!
-Ice Spice 687:927
It was very awesome service but milanos was cheaper books were 8.00 and care kits were10.00 and at brindleys it was almost 16.00 and for book it was 10
I had heard so many good things about this place from other musicians, so my S/O and I decided to try it out. We needed our guitars set up, mine electric, hers acoustic. When we brought the guitars in, we were given a sort of turned up nose treatment when we revealed our guitars. Mine a Purple Paul Reed Smith Custom 24, and hers an older blue Ibanez acoustic. Granted our guitars weren’t the most expensive, but we both loved them dearly (Mine was an anniversary present from her, and hers was her first guitar ever). I explained to the gentleman behind the counter what was going on with my guitar (Dead fret on the high E, also needing a full set up, action lowered, set up with 10’s.). My S/O explained that hers needed a set up as well. We handed over our guitars, and left with confidence.
A few days later we picked our guitars up, and went home to check them out. It. Was. Terrible. They raised the action on my PRS so high that it was almost unplayable, and the gentleman who did the set up said that he did so to get rid of the aforementioned dead fret, even though I gave express permission to do whatever was necessary to solve the issue while keeping the action LOW. That could have meant a level, crown, polish, replacement etc. Anything to keep the action low. My girlfriends acoustic buzzed so terribly on every single fret on the top three strings after we took it in, she has resorted to buying a brand new acoustic, because this place left hers unplayable. Now most people might say ”well if they messed up, take it back and have them fix it” but believe me when I say that when we saw the condition of our instruments, I would NEVER trust them in the hands of this place again. I really wanted to like this place, but after the treatment we and our instruments received, we’ll go elsewhere. Please stay away for your own good.
Expensive and poor service. took my beautiful holton Bb trumpet their to have the 2nd valve slide replaced. it is a standard mass produced turmpet, ans WAS worth about $650. it was beautiful with a sparkeling finish. they lost my order and it took 3 weeks when I called them to inquire about it. i was told $40 to fix the slide (found out later that part only cost $15) and it would take a week. they chem washed it, wich i said to not do and it RUINED my trumpet. it looks like crap, their is 3 dents in my bell where their weren’t any before and after i called at the 3 week point it still took another 2 for them to get around to fixing it. in the end, they ruined my finish, put the wroung part on, and dented my trumpet multiple times. O AND they expected me to pay $85 for it all. they chem washed it because they forgot to write down the repair needed and assumed it was a was, and they charged me for their mistake. Good at smooth talking but anyone can seem like they know what their saying. they were horrabile and unless you want to over pay and have your instrument ruined, dont go here. o and my sisted paid $1000 for a flute which was “new”…the saudering from when it was returned to them from the last owner broke in about a week and they repaired it wroung 3 times before they got it right where it broke again 3 days later.
My son wanted to buy from a local shop. He spent $400 of his own money on a used guitar, new amp and cord. The cord tip broke off in the amp input 3 weeks after purchase ruining the cord and amp. My son attempted to get a replacement with his receipt in hand and was told he would need to pay for the repair of the amp. When I called and spoke to the owner Bruce I encountered an arrogant and condescending man with little to no concern for the customer. Instead he proceeded to blame my son for the faulty cord and infer that the damage was caused by something he did. Mind you he has played on entry level equipment for years and never had a single issue. We also had an independent professional agree that the cord was faulty and caused the damage to the amp input. Regardless Bruce repeatedly told me something was fishy, that 2 plus 2 told him something else happened, that he had been in business for 43 years and I didn’t know anything and took the Lords name in vain time after time during our conversation. When I told him it was unfortunate that he wouldn’t correct the issue he told me I would be blackmailing him if a bad review was left. Sorry Bruce but their were no threats made, only a customer wanting others not to have their hard earned money thrown away. Be a professional. Based on some of the other reviews I have looked at it appears we are not the first, second or even third customers treated this way. When he continued to argue and obsess that he would dispute a review and it was apparent nothing else mattered I hung up. No amount of logic would change this mans mind. Fortunately we know the truth and he can convince himself otherwise all he wants. Their are plenty of local shops lile Milanos and corporate shops like Guitar Center who appreciate the business and know the value of a loyal customer!

Amazing experience! He has chairs and a bed that are instruments that you can sit or lay down on while he plays them, beautiful experience! After discovered this place I came back that evening with my sister, had to share the experience with someone else! Can’t wait to visit again! !
I’ve lived here just about all my life and only just found this store yesterday while wandering around! The owner is a delight and the sheer number of beautiful instruments and statues is almost overwhelming! (If he asks to show you something cool, say yes!)
If you’re anywhere near the area, this is an absolute must visit. A truly unique shop and experience.
Unusual instruments

Just the BEST since Forever in Music books, music with CD’s, instruments and repair
Central Music is THE place for musicians to get the materials they need to continue to move forward. Books are the most cost effective way to improve your improvising and sight reading skills. The array of materials they offer is vast. They also offer me the courtesy of ordering less well known books. I discovered Olegario Diaz ,Bob Hinz and the awesome Lexicon of Symmetric Scales by Deutsch as well as the Charlie Parker Omni Book vol 2 while browsing their shelves. Incredible value and inspiration available at Central Music. Thanks Roy! Thanks Preston for your suggestions. Happy practicing everyone!
Love these guys and their dogs. They always have what we need and are always helpful
Very nice store that’s been here for a long time. The store is tidy. There’s a small selection of musical instruments and other accessories. My family shops here often and we always feel welcome.
Nice store. Mostly literature, less instruments, but good selection of accessories. Will definately be back for more!
Nice local music shop with the supplies musicians need at reasonable prices. One important thing- they have a NO RETURNS policy. If you buy it, make sure it’s what you need! Parking’s a little tight, so maybe go early or late. Oh, and there’s a nice sandwich shop and a Dairy Queen next door!
CentralMusic purchase policy of NO REFUNDS NO RETURNS: bought a gig bag/very nice. Also bought, and am now stuck with, Kremona KNG classical guitar pickup: rubber on the plug end is brittle/cracking. I tape-wrapped it BECAUSE NO REFUNDS/NO RETURNS. However, I do apologize to you, Central Music, because I should have examined that pickup, should have said “rubber boot has breaks” or something to that effect. But I bought it the day before my wife’s funeral service where I was scheduled to play for a bit. So, I was a little pressed for time, grieving My Beautiful Wife’s passing, not thinking before I posted my comments about Central Music. So, I am sorry if I sounded rude, because that’s not who I am. On the bright side, your shop was open, item was available, product does work, and I wish I could read music better because you have lots of sheet music available and other gear for sale.
They didn’t help me they said I had to make 4 other drives to get it
No tiene variedad de cuerdas,no ve de guitarras de calidad.
