George did an awesome job restoring a Gibson 12string. Even though the guitar was not of high value, by the time George finished working his magic, it looked like a million bucks and sounded amazing! He is honest, fair in his pricing and he definitely knows his stuff about fixing and refurbishing guitars.
I’ve been playing guitar/bass going on 50 years, in my experience G&s Guitar shop offers exceptional quality and service. George has background as a machinist and decades as a luthier, he’s done everything from set-ups, repairs and new build projects for me.. I am absolutely satisfied. One thing I especially appreciate is he always includes a detailed worksheet of everything he’s done to the instrument. I can recommended him and his partner without hesitation for whatever your stringed instrument needs might be.
5. Big Frog Music Co
Address: 577 E Main St # A, Blue Ridge, GA 30513 , McCaysville , Georgia , United States
Love this store, my daughter found some good LPs for her collection, good memories since I did work in a record store in the 80s.
Cindy is always a hoot when I visit! Great selection of music and records! She’s got some incense and little knick knacks and t shirts you should check out too!
That’s the coolest dude I’ve ever met! Nice store and good vibes!
As a visitor to the mountain region of Georgia I enjoyed a stroll along Main Street in Blue Ridge including a visit to Big Frog Music. I explained to the proprietor that as an Englishman I would like some recommendations for bluegrass music. He was more than friendly and helpful playing examples of suggested albums. I bought a Lonesome River Band cd and have enjoyed it ever since.
I don’t really buy a lot of music in physical form these days, but they had a great selection of records and some awesome decor stuff. The staff was really cool too.
It was cool to see a vinyl shop, and you could tell the lady at the counter loved what she was doing and would ha e sat and talked about music all day.
Prices were a big nope. Unless your willing to pay $40 or more for a new record, look elsewhere. Even the used records were $15 or more.
Horrible experience! Man behind counter was very unprofessional. I will never go back!
The cds and vinyl are way overpriced. Save your money and avoid this store.
6. TOONEYS Music Venue
Address: 100 Blue Ridge Dr, McCaysville, GA 30555 , McCaysville , Georgia , United States
A good spot for a variety of artists playing original music. I think it could benefit from some soundproofing or drapery on the walls to reduce the reverb, but overall I’m giving this 5 stars. Fantastic concerts for the price.
Karaoke nights on Thursdays with Lexie are super fun. We got some great local singers.
What a great venue. Clean, well lit, good prices, great music.
Being big fans of the Red Clay Strays, we were excited to see that they would be playing in McCaysville. Great job, Tooneys, in getting such an amazing group to come perform!
We had some questions before the concert. Emily was very gracious in responding, and we had a great time. We arrived about 6:45 to be sure to get seats. (Doors open at 7:00; seating for about 175). We picked up dinner to bring in and eat before the show and purchased drinks at the bar.
Well staffed, and good crowd. Only negative was a less than great sound system; the sound quality could be better. Overall, a great experience, though, and we’ll be watching for upcoming shows. Thanks again for bringing in the RCS band!
Enjoyed coming here for the first time to see a concert, intimate setting and the sound was really good. The only issue we had was that they seemed to be short of staff and had to wait on drinks too long.
A very nice place to go, to enjoy a beer and listen to good live music.
Nice music good wine
What an absolute waste of money!!! Whoever is in charge of the sound quality just needs to go back to flipping hamburgers. There is no reason for the music to over take the singers voice!Due to the screwd up layout of the building you can only see the stage from 1/4 of the tables. Not to mention that the line for the concession stand goes right through the dance floor. Extremely poor planning on someone’s part. Damn sure won’t be back.
Always had a great time until tonight… after I ordered a glass of wine I tasted it and it was the bottom of the bottle, I asked him for another glass or a Miller light and he argued with me that the wine wasn’t bad, and that it was mountain wine… which I don’t care if it’s mountain wine or creek wine it was bad and it was the end of the bottle.. and that he said owned the place… we all know who owns the place and it isn’t josh the bartender… definitely love burra burra, but for the bartender to argue with you and not just say ya no problem let me get you another glass totally unprofessional to argue with customers and to say you own the place…
To loud and have to go to bar for drinks
7. Riverwalk Shops
Address: 100 Blue Ridge Dr, McCaysville, GA 30555 , McCaysville , Georgia , United States
What a great place to spend the afternoon in an awesome small town. Great restaurants, on the river and many unique local shops.
Just visited Tooneys and really really enjoyed it.
Ok.
Lots to choose from
Nice selection of little shops.
Too expensive.
Restaurants not open on mondays
Dragged my whole family including a 6 month and a two year old to walk and shop at 3:40 on a Wednesday afternoon. We walked around the whole Riverwalk and surrounding areas until 4:30 only to find that literally almost every single buisness around (other than a few resturants and the beer places) were closed. The whole entire Riverwalk was closed. The building was open the lights were on and the signs all indicated open but every Single gate was closed and locked. We wasted half an afternoon getting here walking around and getting back for literally nothing.
Great selection and great people at both the Blue Ridge and McCaysville locations! I’m always able to find something when I stop in. Used vinyl is in great shape!
Great place to find good condition old Albums And Newpress vinyls knowledgeable and super friendly staff
So nice to have a record store in Blue Ridge. Nice selection of new and used and all the stuff that goes with it, tshirts, mugs etc. Good prices and staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Also enjoyed your store in McCaysville. Thanks for sending me the record I ordered on line, it arrived very quickly and was well packaged. Really hope you guys do well!
10. Megatone Music
Address: 44b Town Sq, Blairsville, GA 30512 , McCaysville , Georgia , United States
We found this absolute gem of a music store while traveling thru Blairsville.
This store is very clean, very good selection on all gear & the prices are more than fair.
The owner Darryl is very kind & will answer any & every question you have on anything in his store.
It was a real pleasure to do business with him.
I absolutely recommend this store to anyone that wants a great deal with friendly service.
Store is awesome great customer service and killer selection!
Very nice shop. Very helpful. Appeared to have a nice selection of instruments and accessories
Out if business
Ordered a brand new guitar for a present and it arrived with a scuff. Not sure if it was packed like this or it happened during transit. I sent a freindly message to Megatone Music about it and the initial response I got was that it was a mislabled used guitar, not a brand new one as advertized. Then he said that i scratched it and its not a big deal, my friend will be happy with a present. Not a pleasant expereince. Seller’s responses seem manipulative.
Dealt with these people on reverb. They ignored my messages, refused a refund twice, once before it had shipped out because the dimensions weren’t right to fit on my guitar. Then after no response for months, I posted on their facebook and they deleted my post. These people are scammers and deceivers. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.
11. R J Old School Guitars

Great

staff were kinda short and acted bothered when asked a question. that was the only negative experience I e ever had at this store though. every other time has been just fine. they were prolly just having a baby bad day
Don’t know who the guy is that works the checkout ! But he cussed out a little old lady the other day in line and made her cry ! Unbelievable that he is still there ! Its not Travis but the other kid !
Cluttered store. Didn’t have anything Halloween
Could use some cleaning
