Excellent tightly wound strings! On a par with expensive boutique strings but priced like D’Addarios.
I’ve been playin’ a long time on good guitars. OMG, as good as a 55 yr old martin sounds, your accoustic strings make it sing like never before! Wow is an understatement! high, mid and low end just ring rich and robust! Thanks for quality as great as the instruments themselves! On my first set,
and hands down, my new first choice in strings, now and ever more!
2. Cortez Books
Address: 124 N Pinon Dr, Cortez, CO 81321 , Montezuma County , Colorado , United States
A really nice, well organized book store. He has a good mix of new and used books.
Absolutely lovely book store and a place to be if you are looking for a good book. I have been visiting it over several years and it never disappointed. The prices are fair, and it is a great joy to find your treasure here. Also if you trade in your old books, you get a credit.
Classic Book store. Sunny and pleasant, new and used, local writers, we always find something. Good selection old, do it yourself, local guides, fiction. When we are in Cortez we are at the bookstore.
You will need a step stool to read the top shelf, well organized, owner looks intelligent.
Cozy and a big selection!
Lot of choices, reasonable prices

A tucked away hidden treasure! Stay determined to find it and you will, and will be glad you did. -Have a lot of different items and priced just right. The owner is fun to talk with as well. Enjoy your time checking it out!
Very nice antique collections. Very nice gentleman at the store. Good china, glass, furniture.
No longer open
4. Methodist Thrift Shop
Address: 444 E Main St, Cortez, CO 81321 , Montezuma County , Colorado , United States
We stopped here on our way to Mesa Verde N.P. because we needed a sauce pan for camping. Incredibly, this thrift shop did not have a single useful pot or pan. However, they did have a nice old rustic western-style picture frame which as it happened perfectly fit a primitivist painting of a pueblo village that we had back home. And I would also like to point out that it was here in 2009 that I had my first look at the new penny. So all in all this was a surprising and memorable place.
Nice place, friendly employees ,good prices, pretty good selection
If you use a credit card, make sure you get a receipt even it’s for $1.50 ,cause your bank statement will say $51.50 ,but their so honest, bank statements don’t lie, thanks for losing my interest.
Its just another thrift shop
5. Walmart Supercenter
Address: 1835 E Main St, Cortez, CO 81321 , Montezuma County , Colorado , United States
I like cortez walmart . Its nt toany ppl like gaiiup lol .
Wish I was allowed in there
No good help
Crowded
It’s Walmart, so in terms of products there isn’t much difference unless a garden center is attached. Issue I have with this store is electronics seems to never have anyone there when I’m trying to get products.
Can
This place needs to be improved. Store is messy clerks in love with themselves. Store needs a redo
Sucked all around
6. Nighteagle Flute Co
Address: 666 1/2 Grand Ave, Mancos, CO 81328 , Montezuma County , Colorado , United States
Nice items and very reasonable prices. The shopkeeper was very nice and let us in during closing and a little after. (Window hours say Open M,T,W,F,Sat 10-4, assume closed Th,Su) $6 dresses, $3 tops! Some linens, scarves, belts and decor stuff; like cute little ships. Found White Stag brand items, also some y2k style shirts/vests. Solid color tees, sweaters and sets. Women’s mostly casual to dressy casual, but I also got a gorgeous slinky dress. Men’s had some jackets, tees and button ups.
A beautiful little shop with very nice inventory at reasonable prices. Definitely stop in and see what treasures you can find.
8. Cortez Cultural Center
Address: 25 N Market St, Cortez, CO 81321 , Montezuma County , Colorado , United States
I enjoyed visiting the Cultural Center. While there, I looked at some Navajo flutes. I didn’t buy one, but may return and do so.
I came for one of their dances. It was supposed to be all outside, but the thunder and pouring rain came in 10 minutes before start. So they brought us all inside and started it there while they waited for the weather to clear. It was great.
Don,t miss this place.
Hosted a LGBTQ event and did a marvelous job at welcoming everyone
Saw a cool band ‘yotes for free! Interesting museum!
A nice and informative place to visit. Regional activities that really give visitors a taste of the tribal activities that we locals tend to take for granted.
9. The Station Boutique
Address: 36 N Maple St, Cortez, CO 81321 , Montezuma County , Colorado , United States
Good customer service. Super cute Boutique, variety of items available. Fitting room available. It’s cozy and warm which makes for an excellent shopping experience. Great music playing. Hours are correct on google.
10. Marmalade Music
Address: 814 Central Ave, Dolores, CO 81323 , Montezuma County , Colorado , United States
Ive known Marmalade Music for over two years and I’m so grateful for all the amazing efforts it’s put into our songs. Chris is such an open minded person and He’s never satisfied until you are satisfied. He puts his soul in this business and I would never change his work for anyone else’s work.
Chris is awesome! It’s always nerve wracking sharing something as personal as music with anyone, but he is upbeat and encouraging, which makes it easy.
Working with Chris was a lot of fun from day 1. He took the time to meet with me and just chat as people so he could get to know me, my influences and my experience up to that point. It’s real easy to work with Chris and I feel he displays a genuine interest in his clients, their growth as artists and success as people. He always has good ideas and input. He helped me mix my first album and I couldn’t be more grateful. 5 stars, will work with Chris again.
11. Salvation Army Thrift Store
Address: 201 N Pinon Dr D, Cortez, CO 81321 , Montezuma County , Colorado , United States
I love this thrift shop. Best one in town. I almost always find clothes in my size and plenty of books for me and my kids. I always find things for everyone in my family. Plus it’s always pretty clean. I have better luck finding clothes for myself here than I do at Walmart. Oddly enough.
Fun place, Friendly people,
This is by far my most favorite thrift store, ever.
Nice thrift store
Decent prices doesnt make up for my 3 year old being harassed about not wearing a mask by the cashier who works there. The law says ten an over, stop micromanaging strangers. Its none of your business anyway. Good job driving business away. Follow up: I received a really kind email from Salvation Army letting me know they’ve looked into this and they’re re-training their staff. That’s impressive. I don’t think the company is at fault if they’re willing to re-train their employees. Good job!
A good service for the community and VERY heavily utilized.
There’s nothing you want here, but at least it only costs a quarter. Looks nice, too.
Nothing but used clothing. Few trinkets
12. From Our Heart Thrift Store
Address: 301 E Main St, Cortez, CO 81321 , Montezuma County , Colorado , United States
The store has recently moved again. New address is 301 East Main Street, in Cortez, Colorado.
The lady who runs the store is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Her prices are very-very reasonable, and you will definitely want to come back.
Owner was super nice very accommodating nice items for sale at a good price 10/10 would definitely recommend the had things to all ages and sizes even plus size
Super cute store, super friendly staff! Always a pleasant experience!
Quick and easy place to find the little things
I used to really love this thrift store. The woman who generally works the register is so sweet and friendly, but last time I went in neither she or the other woman working we’re wearing masks and showed no intention of doing so. I want to support business that keep the health and safety of their communities in mind.
I find the store to be really cluttered and not easy to move around and look at items. I thought some items were really over priced. I bought a small (china) tea pot and the lid did not fit and the spout on the pot was chipped. I found they had items spread all over the store nothing was very organized.
13. KP Pawn (Cortez)
Address: 24099 Rd G.2, Cortez, CO 81321 , Montezuma County , Colorado , United States
Last minute place to check for ammunition. Helpful workers, will return if I come back to Colorado.
Friendly, fast service!
剥製を飾るのをやめて欲しいです。動物がかわいそう。
I would say there’s only 2 workers there that are helpful and friendly.. while the other cockheads can kick rocks with their barefoot.. I have nothing against race, culture, but native guy in there is not people friendly, he never crack a smile, so does another guy with a peacock haircut.. all huff and puff with a fake buff type dudes..
A friend of mine went here twice and won’t go back, got treated with no respect.., owner should really look into how their workers treat the people and keep “their word” like an honor system would.. there’s no honor system here.. they low ball you for the pawn and will ask for 30% profit.. Not business savvy at all..
I don’t know what’s up an employee A-hole, but service was bad just because an employee was having a bad day. Shouldn’t put it out on a customer. Bad reputation to the company.
Rude customer services , there is definitely a better way to handle things and I thought racism was over with.
14. Merriweather Home + Market
Address: 25 S Elm St, Cortez, CO 81321 , Montezuma County , Colorado , United States
This is the cutest shop with the best from local artisans. There is something new every time I go in there. ❤️
I ordered the honey loved it! So yummy and fast response to ordering. Great service and gift ideas
Enjoy shopping in this local shop, full of wonderful handmade items. Lots of gift ideas for everyone. Always a pleasure talking with Erin. And shes always playing great music!
Not much to look at.
My mom, sisters, and I love this place! It’s just up the street from my house. Love/enjoy and purchasing all the local art. Only go when Erin is there. Only 4 stars because the new lady there was unfortunately rude!! She didn’t acknowledge me or didn’t want to answer my questions. She seemed very annoyed. But she was very nice and welcoming to every one else.
15. Cork n Bottle
Address: 443 E Main St, Cortez, CO 81321 , Montezuma County , Colorado , United States
My lucky day. Walked in off the street to a smile and a “can I help you.” Received good service, new strings. Nice conversation too.
Very nice people helped us out fantastically even with our lack of knowledge
Nice shop. Cool owner!
Good local music, guitar store
Jimmy’s music was very nice store however seemed understaffed.
Cute store pack with tons of things.
Had my mind set on buying a new piano keyboard and supporting this local music store in Durango and to know that the workers (maybe even the owners) don’t know how to treat their customers is very disappointing. When I walked in I wasn’t greeted, even after a few minutes I wasnt asked how I was doing or IF I NEEDED HELP FINDING ANYTHING. I know what you’re thinking “maybe he was busy” nooooo! Because there was another worker there and no one else was in the store. I wasn’t addressed or anything until I was about to leave. I know I’m an adult and maybe I should have just asked him myself but if I’m gonna spend a few hundred dollars at your store then I’d expect to be treated like it let alone be WELCOMED INTO THE STORE! But my question is why? Did I not looked like a serious buyer? Was it cause I was wearing a mask? Or was it cause I was brown? My questions are valid and justified through the actions of the workers. Sad to know that people are treated differently for whatever reason. Such a bad impression on the community and very disappointing experience.
They did not have what we were looking for.
19. Antique Corral
Address: 6817 US-160 #491, Cortez, CO 81321 , Montezuma County , Colorado , United States
Loved it!! Great food and service –then shop antiques when you finish –lots to look at!
This place has pretty much anything. I noticed last time I was there, they had a vintage Billion Dollar Man and bionic operating table toy unoped in the box.
Very eclectic selection, good food
Worth a look
Neat place….they even serve meals
The lunch counter was great! The cute grandma who made and served my food was prompt, generous, and friendly — plus the navajo taco was delicious. I didn’t walk around the antique part of the shop, though
Disgusting place.
They sold me a broken tv. Didn’t tell me that it had a crack on top right before I bought it
Bad service. They boss you around. Bad service
