If you are in Sun Valley make sure that you check out the ice skating rehearsals at the Sun Valley Pavilion. You can go for lunch and Sit in the restaurant area or just go and sit in the bleachers and enjoy watching the ice skaters. The bleachers are covered but remember sunscreen anyway! This is a really fun way to see some fantastic ice skaters and a beautiful area.
Love the free summer concerts!!
Preko ljeta se ovdje održavaju fantastični koncerti.
Great shows here but miss the tent.
It’s small slow relaxed pace with high quality performances events & environment
Beautiful!
I will admit we Utahns have our own ownership of being rude. However last night’s attendance at Avett Brothers concert was a joke. The venue was horrible for grass sitting experience. The food trucks and restrooms were outside the varea. Two trucks for 3000 people? The sound? Ok if you were inside the seating area. The culmination for me was after enjoying the final hour of music by this great band..returning to our chairs and blankets to find the rude viewers behind us having dumped all their drinks on our chairs and blankets. We will return to Salt Lake City. It’ll be a cold day before I return to Sun Valley. This venue was great for those in chairs under the tarp. You poorly planned for those of us not seated there
We drove from SLC to Sun Valley to see the Avett Brothers…one of our favorite bands. We purchased the lawn seats which turned out to be a big mistake.
We were the first people through the gate and sat on the grass closest to the pavilion but we could see very little of the stage. All viewing from the grass is done on the video screen not the stage.
This crowd was different from most. Every time we stood up to sing and dance to a favorite song, we were screamed at to “sit down”. There was NO standing or dancing until the very end when we decided to stand up anyway. We were rewarded with beer being thrown on us and our chairs filled with ice and drink. Come on Sun Valley…you can do better than this.
This is a beautiful venue. Buy the inside seating not the lawn seating if you want to enjoy the concert.
After purchasing our tickets 5 months before the show, I was especially disappointed when I could not sit in the seats I had paid for because of the crowd at the stage. Knowing I have a hurt foot I paid extra for close seats so I would be able to enjoy one of my favorite artists, yet there was no crowd control and I could not even get to my seat, let alone sit down.
2. Maude’s Coffee and Clothes
Address: 311 1st Ave N, Ketchum, ID 83340 , Sun Valley , Idaho , United States
Super great service and the cold brew is incredible.
Visited here this morning before my flight out of town and wish I would have tried it earlier on in my trip! Great coffee and service, the baristas were all so nice and the western/vintage decor was perfect! I had a cappuccino with oat milk and honey as well as avocado toast that I forgot to take a picture of, my bad! 10/10
Great coffee, service, and cool artwork!
Dietary restrictions: Milk alternatives
The coffe was warm and wonderful! Only downside is that I can’t buy clothes as they aren’t in my budget. They’re nice if you can afford them!! I love the vibe it reminds me of home.
Vegetarian options: Lots of avacados… The toast looked good…you can remove egg if that’s not your thing.
Wheelchair accessibility: Right on the street!! No ramps needed. There is a small bit on the curb you’ll need to bump up on!
When in ketchum really like there coffee, have a good variety,
Decent space, thumping sonic pollution too loud.
Came in to try on clothes after a friend highly recommended. Very weird vibes- felt awkwardly watched, and the woman who put away the clothes I tried on made weird comments without prompt. Commented on my size and mentioned how small the clothes I picked were and that, “someone will fit them one day!” aloud. I felt embarrassed by the whole experience. In fact, I didn’t buy because the matching top wasn’t the style I thought it was?) Really unfriendly environment if you aren’t mirroring their usual clientele.
Horrible condescending attitude from Jacob. Won’t be returning. No reason to speak to a customer with such terrible manners.
Terrible product, customer service and attitudes!
3. Gold Mine Thrift Store
Address: 331 Walnut Ave, Ketchum, ID 83340 , Sun Valley , Idaho , United States
Lots of awesome stuff great price employees were amazing at helping us
We love coming here. The staff is always nice amd helpful and there are always new treasures.
A little pricey for secondhand, but only the higher quality items. This store is filled with great outdoor activity clothing for skiing, hiking, biking, running, scuba diving – anything you’d want to do outside! Their collection of gorgeous 90’s items with great fabrics is not to be missed. We understand why this place is called the goldmine, as we felt as the gold miners must have amongst these nuggets of textile bliss!
I come here a few times every time I’m in town. It’s fun to look through the items, but typically everything, especially the clothes, are picked through, no matter what time of the day or which day of the week I come. I’m not sure when they put new items out.
Very crowded
As others have said, it’s pricey for a thrift shop, but there are some real gems! There is quite a variety and you’re almost certain to find something you “need”. Protip: bring your own bag.
We visit this thrift store every other month or so from down in the valley. Have shopped here since I was just looking for some dirty mismatched legos as a 5 year old. We have exercised personal responsibility and liberty of conscience while shopping through the last two years all while supporting this local business. In a strange display of power the manager chose our 20th covid visit, when the data clearly shows mask mandates don’t work, to kick our family out. Consistency has never been a strong suit of irrational people. Grateful for the chance to explain to my daughter how we do not let men like this rule over us or those outside their appropriate spheres of sovereignty demand anything of your body or conscience and how petty men conquered by fear love to tell others what to do. We smile and don’t let them rule over our day for even a moment. We respect they have rights and to put up signs requiring masks but have no rule over us. I wish them rest from the fear they have so come to love. We will unfortunately put to rest our patronage of this store. It was a good 30 year run.
Considering that it is ski season in Sun Valley, I was shocked to see an individual arrive to this thrift store on a bicycle, completely outfitted in full ski gear when not even so much as a snowflake was on the ground. The aforementioned moon man then proceeded to shop for skis in said thrift store, I can only assume this was an effort to impress the brainless self absorbed trust fund babies who spent most of their time looking down their noses at everyone else, while they themselves shopped at the Gold Mine thrift store. Brutal…No?
The cashiers were snobby. I found nothing great about the place.
4. Deja Vu
Address: 511 Leadville Ave, Ketchum, ID 83340 , Sun Valley , Idaho , United States
Bought the most beautiful dress for a wedding. Susie the owner was so lovely, so helpful, and her store was perfection. The most beautifully curated vintage pieces.
Fabulous high end vintage designer botique! Items are in pristine condition. Like a history museum for clothing. The owner is knowledgeable and very nice. Must stop while in Ketchum.
The coolest owner and the most beautiful clothes you have ever seen! This store is the closest you could get to a time machine! It’s incredible
Snobby staff
Cool selection of vintage clothing but have never been treated so poorly by a store owner. She told me I wasn’t skinny enough to try on a dress that I liked on the mannequin and asked to see my rib cage and have me pull up my shirt Infront of a male shopper.
5. Gold Mine Consign
Address: 83340, 591 4th St E, Sun Valley, ID 83353 , Sun Valley , Idaho , United States
Very nice shop with a very good selection of amazing items. The owner was very helpful with my girlfriend and I was able to find an amazing necklace for my girlfriend. Also the store is open till 6pm, which is an hour later than most of the shops in Ketchum. It is a must stop for shopping.
Interesting little shop, nice inventory, and very courteous owner.
I love this store!! So many awesome pieces and super cool atmosphere. Found so much gold here, would 100% recommend! (Not to mention, amazing music choices)
I visited Gold Mine because of its history & reviews, thinking that I would be able to find some deals. I’m not sure if the items were “Ketchum” prices, but I was blown away by the markup on items & realized that my definition of a thrift store was wildly different than this place. I worked in retail and have a pretty good handle on what things cost new vs used, and to me, Gold Mine missed the mark. E.g., I found a used J.Crew pullover that would retail new between the $40-50 range, marked at $30. To me, that’s not “thrift store” pricing, and you can get the same type of clothing at TJ Maxx or Marshall’s for less. Needless to say, I didn’t end up buying anything because I couldn’t justify buying used what I could buy brand new at a lower price. I appreciate the history of Gold Mine but because of the inexplicably high prices, I have rated the place as ⭐️⭐️⭐️
It’s too crowded with racks
Great stuff, rarely things in size ten. *sad trombone noise.*
Very disappointing, drove over an hour to go to this place . The website said it was open and when we got there the lady walks out and says we are closed and they do it twice a year. Well it might be a good freaking idea to update your website. We will not be going back.
If I could give zero stars I would. The lady working there at the counter was the rudest person I have ever encountered in a retail environment. You will not miss her. She has a rats nest for hair. Run away.
6. Sun Valley Music Festival
Address: 120 Second Ave, Ketchum, ID 83340 , Sun Valley , Idaho , United States
Super casual, good solid food. Huge beer selection.
Yum yum yum yum yum. I really like the beer variety. Something for just about any beer lover. DELICIOUS food. Just had a burger, my wife had an awesome roast beef sandwich. Have never been disappointed.
The fish taco & fish and chips here are my favorite. Also the falafel plate! The ingredients are so fresh and quality! There were tri colored carrots in the cole slaw! The fries were perfection. We didn’t try any beer but the food alone will bring me back! Hands down one of my favorite restaurants ever! (Although the Mac n cheese we ordered for our kids was terrible and soggy, maybe it was just a bad day for that dish… because EVERYTHING else was amazing!) You order up front and then seat yourself and grab your own water and condiments. We sat on the back patio on a warm fall day. It was delightful!
Best elk burger ever. Fries and crispy onions too.
Great place for beers but the food isn’t all that good. Clean place with friendly staff.
Cozy little brewery and decent food. The fish taco and Idahome IPA were delicious. My daughter got a grilled cheese and fries. The sandwich was good, the fries were some of the worst I’ve ever had. The lady with short dark hair that took my order was super nice, the guy (cook? With reddish hair and glasses) seemed as though he hated his job. Nobody asked how the food was or bussed our table…maybe it doesn’t work like that there, idk. I’d still come back for the beer and food. They need to up their fry game though.
Disappointed in the price point for a pint of beer. I paid $6.54 for a Pale Ale today. Then went to dinner at Ketchum Grill and paid $5.00.
The beer isn’t so good to be at a price point that much higher than market.
I will look elsewhere for my next pub pint.
Sadly we Idahoans take pride in treating people with decency. Unfortunately the older blonde bartender does not believe this. She holds an obvious disdain for the patrons around us. She is rude, strike 3, that is what it takes for me to write a review. Sorry to the owner, tough times finding staff. Sun Valley/Ketchum has a culture where the locals are rude to the folks buying their goods and services. I am a local, it is embarrassing to me and my family.
Sorry guys – But I had to leave you one star for the food you gave to my husband and I for carry out. We are from out of town and were looking for a delicious meal for take out. He ordered an elk burger, which was a bit underdone and still slightly cold in the middle. Also, he had ordered tater tots and there weren’t any, not even an incorrect substitute. I ordered the taco salad, requested no tomatoes, no salsa, and ranch on the side. I got salsa on the side, tomatoes on the salad, and like 5 handfuls of salad and 8 chips. Clearly someone was very distracted while taking this order and/or putting it together. It was also pouring rain outside and I took the meal back to our hotel and really didn’t want to do a return. Hopefully this was a one time or infrequent mistake?
9. Java On Fourth
Address: 191 4th St W, Ketchum, ID 83340 , Sun Valley , Idaho , United States
I love there bagel sandwiches with fresh avocados. The best in town.
Kid-friendliness: Bring the kids. They are always welcome.
The best coffee and friendly people!
Had the best white mocha!
The king of VANILLA LATTE
We visited on a Sunday morning.
+
Excellent coffee, bowl of soul was yum
Fun decor
Newspapers, mags and visuals kept handy
Friendly staff
Minimal but cozy/warm seating
–
Tad overpriced
Avocado toast was dull and hard
Very healthy options for breakfast. Nice and cozy. Just felt a little overheated inside
Chai tea latte was watered down and cashier was very tired and complained about tipping over three dollars in a sarcastic manner. Short Curly blonde girl with a bull nose ring just not having a good day and wants to share that with each customer. Wouldn’t make a smoothie because she said she didn’t want to.
Nice place to go if you like rude people and a nice couch.
Ordered a vanilla cappuccino and waited 15 + minutes for it and my 20 oz coffee was more than half foam and not even close to the top. Disappointed. Understand that cappuccino has foam but this was way more than usual.
We ordered 4 things, only one of which was palatable. The berry smoothie was not a smoothie, but a juice. The matcha was completely flavorless. The breakfast burrito is overloaded on black beans and has no seasoning- I unwrapped it and seasoned it myself just so that I could get it down. The breakfast croissant was okay. Service was good. Won’t return.
10. Opera House
Address: 1 Sun Valley Rd, Sun Valley, ID 83353 , Sun Valley , Idaho , United States
We love the clear view you get from anywhere in the theater. Even from the front row. The place has a great old time vibe we love too! If only modern day theaters could bring back the charm of The Sun Valley Opera House we could all take a journey back to the good old days!! Enjoy
Fun little theater in Sun Valley. Nice that they have a small beer and wine selection. It would be fun if they did a bit more in the food selection as well, would give it more of a “dinner and a movie” feel, but overall, a great place to spend an evening.
It’s a movie house!
I have enjoy many of the events of The Sun Valley Opera, and try to contribute yearly to the organization! The recent presentation of British Rock Concert was totally out of Character for The Sun Valley Opera. The concert was boring and loud, causing us to leave early. If this is the direction of The Sun Valley Opera I have NO interest in attending or contributing.

11. Sun Valley Mall
Address: 5161 Boardwalk Mall, Sun Valley, ID 83353 , Sun Valley , Idaho , United States
Sun Valley Jazz Festival
You need to see this place this time of year.
Have the Ruben and a Crepe! Friendly happy staff!
Beautiful place
Dated
Nice open air Cafe.
Great place to stroll
I really loved this mall when The Short Line Deli Sandwich Place was here, there was an A La Mode Ice Cream Shop, and when there was a great location of The Chocolate Foundry. The toy store and the Pete Lane’s Bike Rental Shop have been the only constants, and losing the bests shops in Sun Valley makes me sad.
Expensive and the customer service is horrible!
Did not visit this place
12. Nourishme
Address: 151 N Main St, Ketchum, ID 83340 , Sun Valley , Idaho , United States
Nourishme has some the greatest soups in town. They have a brilliant array of local fresh foods ranging from produce to meats and so much more! The staff are knowledgeable, funny, and alway put a smile on my face by the time I leave. Whether your looking for delicious premade eats to go or picking up groceries Nourishme is The Stop for supporting local food and community as well as a healthy lifestyle.
This is a wonderful local establishment, run by enthusiastic members of the community. The house made food was delicious, and finding supplements was made much easier by helpful staff! Definitely worth stopping by!
I am here every Wednesday for lunch. I LOVE their healthy soups and sandwiches. Yesterday I tried one of their dessert squares and it was delicious!! I can’t stand when food has that “health food” taste. I’ve never had that with anything I’ve eaten here. Just really good food.
Love the food and vibe but they have given me regular bread twice now when I have clearly requested gluten-free (and I have actual antibodies against gluten). Both times I did not find out until I got back to work and my lunch break was almost over.
The sandwich I ordered had the wrong cheese and bread. When I spoke to the owner about it, Julie Johnson, she told me to go handle it myself, rudely and dismissively, while she continued to converse casually with a friend. When I spoke to the people who made the mistake, they didn’t even give me a refund! If you want your order mistaken and poor customer service, come here!
13. Sun Valley Resort
Address: 1 Sun Valley Rd, Sun Valley, ID 83353 , Sun Valley , Idaho , United States
Beautiful and spacious rooms the view is fabulous the weather is great highly, highly recommend!
They have recently remodeled and it is really nice! Perfection!
Good
Beautiful grounds and great food. Lots to do on the property as well as surrounding areas.
Nice, not the Lodge, but nice. Good people.
It is a very nice place to visit and stay.
I have never encountered a concierge less willing to help and less friendly. The staff here is incredibly rude and condescending.
Why does it have to be one star? It deserves a zero. Terrible Hotel. Rooms not clean. Beds are tiny and uncomfortable. Generally they are completely disorganized. I would suggest you not waste your money at the Sun Valley Lodge.
Scummy place
14. Sun Valley Museum of Art
Address: 191 5th St E, Ketchum, ID 83340 , Sun Valley , Idaho , United States
Stumbled on to a fantastic show ‘Sightings’ here while we were in town for a wedding.
Idaho has the highest number of reported ufo sightings per capita in the U.S. The show featured art from Deb Sokolow, Cable Griffith, the estate of Timothy Wiley, among others, all very compelling and fun.
Awesome!
Light of the MOON Tide Track
Revolutionary
Nice outdoor museum. Landscape is wonderful and relaxing, but limited merchandise.
The people are friendly and welcoming.
15. Gilman Contemporary
Address: 661 Sun Valley Rd, Ketchum, ID 83340 , Sun Valley , Idaho , United States
A fantastic gallery! Quality of work is amazing and we love the diversity of the work they show.
I run an architecture, interior and brand design studio in NY who was tasked with curating art selections for one of our recent project. We had an extremely tight deadline but Beth at Gilman worked with us to make it happen without a catch. We couldn’t be more happy with the pieces and the help we received!
16. Visit Sun Valley
Address: 491 Sun Valley Rd, Ketchum, ID 83340 , Sun Valley , Idaho , United States
Picked up some free maps that we used to decorate my son’s room.
Wunderschöner Ort, in der Hochsaison viele Leute
Great meeting place for locals and visitors
Convenient but Crowded
Visitor center or Starbucks? This is basically a Starbucks but there is a nice women who will help you and answer questions about the town.
Sun Valley is always a great place to visit. I have lived here for 50+ years and never get tired of how awesome this area actually is. With the mountains, wild life and fun waterways it is hard to beat.
Want me to pick up brochures im far away trying to make reservarions no knowledge of the campgrounds at all
Just went to the Post Office, and they still out of stamps, just think about that!
Don’t go.
17. Ketchum Town Square
Address: 480 4th St E, Ketchum, ID 83340 , Sun Valley , Idaho , United States
Delicious!! Service was great, food was fresh and tasty!
So good. Everything is just right. Definition of hole in the wall goodness. Comfort food for the locals. Today I got a grilled cheese with tomato Basil soup which is perfect. Highly recommend just dropping in and giving it a go!
The food was good but the manager was not helpful and very rude I will never go back
The food is great! The service is awesome! The wait is kinda long
Meh. Maybe for Ketchum, ID these are really good sandwiches. In the grand scheme of things they were good, not great. Sure, I ate mine, but it didn’t blow me away or anything. Also, the outdoor seating, made of old skis, is something outside of an outrageous hipster nightmare. Why? The idea sounds uncomfortable, and the execution confirms it.
Subs were tasty but I found out they added a 20% tip on my order of 2 subs without telling me. Illegal and shady. Not worth going again for a sandwich
We planned to stop at Johnny G’s for lunch while driving through Ketchum but it was closed. Posted sign and website stated it was supposed to be open. Several people approached the door trying to enter while we were parked in front of the business while on our phones trying to find another place to eat . Update your information!
Just ordered a 5B no tomatoes no mayo to go. Drove away headed back to bosie and started eating. Has mayo and tomatoes on it. Watched her check of mayo and tomatoes on the sheet. Sandwich and a water with tip over 13 bucks. Wont be going back. Sorry!
19. Sun Valley Resort
Address: 520 Serenade Ln, Ketchum, ID 83340 , Sun Valley , Idaho , United States
We got a special tour by a local whose family owned most of this property many years ago. She drove us all around and showed us inside and out everything and we even got to witness a celebrity wedding. The launch had really nice big fancy open area. All service people were excellent and they even let us park right in the front of the lodge so that we could take a quick tour inside. everything was first class and the pictures on the wall showed that many celebrities dating way back to Marilyn Monroe and John Wayne have spent time here. Before we took the tour we drove by babe Paley Idaho residence of Bruce Willis and was told that when he goes to restaurants he wears sunglasses and pulls his hat down low so that they won’t be recognized yet when Arnold Schwarzenegger visits he freely asks if there’s anyone that wants their picture taken with him. Obviously a very classy place and the rates were lower than usual because it was mid-may before the Tourist season.
Great ski mountain! Good selection of terrain, decent snow, but very well managed. All around a great place for skiing
Awesome time at the Journey concert on August 17th my birthday Camp down on the river.. Tent cabin. LoL. My view waking up this morning..
Snow not required………..Downhill Mountain Biking was a Thrill!
Before this I had ridden on lots of logging roads and trails here and there, but this was my first time taking my bike up a ski lift and then downhill riding down – what a thrill! I had some good crashes learning to navigate banked turns and then trying to speed off the mountain when lightening started was a little scary, but overall I have fallen in love with a new activity! The facilities here are top notch. The lodge where you purchase the lift tickets is beautiful. The customer service was good, although the sales person actually tried to talk me out of doing it – saying you have to be a really good rider. I didn’t find that to be true, most of the trails were pretty easy. Yes I crashed, but I push myself pretty hard to learn things and I could have babied it on the turns, but I wanted to get them down the right way. The dining lodge at the top has a nice view and the bartender Matt, was very friendly and informative. We ended up altering our road trip based on an area he told us about and it ended up being our favorite camping of the trip! Overall this is a really fun summer activity for people with riding experience – definitely on my repeat list!
Good for skiers and pretty nice location in the summer.
Friendly/Beauty/fun/location
The mountain looks like it would be good if it has snow…I’m not giving it a low rating because of conditions (they can’t control that). When we headed to the mountain, they advertised 36 inches of base…when we got there, there was almost no cover. Where they had made snow, it was completely ice (even first tracks).
While they need to make the mountain appealing, honesty about conditions would be appreciated. Different skies would have been packed to make the day more enjoyable.
Access to mountains difficult. Lift tickets too high. High concentration of jerks. From Whistler to Wolf Creek and about 30 resorts in between, this is my least favorite.
Hugely deceptive advertising on pricing. Listed on a huge board at the ticket counter is $172 for a 2 of 3 day. However go to buy that, they tell you it’s actually $240… Picture taken 12/14/18
20. Warfield Distillery & Brewery
Address: 280 N Main St, Ketchum, ID 83340 , Sun Valley , Idaho , United States
Quick, efficient and friendly service. The witbier was one of the best I’ve ever tasted, and I’m a huge witbier fan. The Czech lager and gin were also delicious. $5 pints at happy hour are a great deal.
Amazing charcuterie!!! Great service. Blown away. Will be back.
Had a great cocktail here while waiting for dinner reservation. Bartendress was working her tail off but was still pleasant and dedicated to making us great drinks. Interesting people around us and the food looked great. Want to come back.
Good food, terrible service. Avoid the cauliflower steak. The poutine is A+
Stopped in for lunch. Food was okay. Their take on a wedge bleu cheese w/bacon salad is not traditional and was lacking. My wife said her chicken sandwich was good and she would order again. I paid (overpaid) $20 for a “pour” of their own distilled whiskey in order to taste it. Based on my tasting, I think the product is way overpriced at $100 for a 750ml bottle.
The vibe of this place is unlike any other in the sun valley area thanks to the rooftop bar/dining. The food was just ok. Brussel sprouts appetizer was very disappointing. Fish and chips was better but they no longer serve sweet potato fries and the truffle fries were on the soggy side. Drinks were chill. Definitely a cool place to hang out for a drink but could pass on the food.
They have a beautiful outdoor seating area on their second floor, but neither their beer nor their gin is very good. If they can improve those, this place would rank way higher.
The atmosphere was really awesome, and if that’s what you’re looking for, go here. The food was below average (said everyone in my group of four) and service was below par too for a restaurant that is trying to be really nice and is expensive. Cocktails were interesting but not great.
Limited selection, but the food is decent. Had a steak that was as chewy as a shoe. Not normally a problem as they took it off the tab, but several staff including our waitress wore no mask which was very frustrating due to the local policies. Get away! Follow the rules please.
