I like Dollar General because of the prices. They have a lot of stuff I get there rather than the Grocery Store because of the lower prices.
I loved the dollar general store it has just what you need…
The cashier was funny and it made us were when we pass through there again we’ll stop.
Smokes
Good service
This is my neighborhood germ
Purchased a wall clock from dollar General on 12/2 during my lunch break.Clock battery box was damaged. So the next time I went to work (which is an hour drive for me)I brought the clock to exchange.I was told it has to be within 24 hours for an exchange.II spend easily 300-400 a month in DG.It will go else where from now on.

Too busy, not efficient, left before ordering.
3. VINTAGE TREASURES
Address: 110 E Dogwood St, Monticello, FL 32344 , Monticello , Florida , United States
First, let me say that we arrived at closing time, but were very graciously asked to come in any way. I had a Greek salad, and my wife had a grilled chicken and bacon wrap. Both were delicious. Despite our poor timing, we were fed a wonderful meal and treated exceptionally well. We intend to return the next time we are in the area.
Their new location is absolutely awesome. I have bought 2 china patterns to fill in what I have. Kitchen table and a chest. Love them…love their service
Extremely friendly staff, wide variety of options, pricing tends to be affordable across vendors.
There are two stories, but the first story alone is very large and worth exploring even if you are unable to utilize the stairs.
Nice antique atmosphere in old brick building. A real antique store, everything is old. Guy behind the counter is super nice!
Everything in this town is closed on Monday. We will come back tomorrow.
Just fyi, I was there at 4pm on a Wednesday and it was closed. Call to check hours…don’t trust the online ones.
Website hours not correct Thursday noon store CLOSED
4. Wag the Dog Thrift Store
Address: 155 N Jefferson St, Monticello, FL 32344 , Monticello , Florida , United States
Excellent thrift store, o,e of my favorites. Very reasonable prices.
The first time I went here I actually had a negative experience. When I went to check out, the two older ladies there completely ignored me for several minutes and just talked to each other, and continued to ignore me while checking me out. However, the last time I went, there were two different ladies there and they were very reasonable and friendly. Everything in there is VERY reasonably priced llus it’s a charity that donates profit to the humane society, so it’s a definite win-win.
We are from West Michigan and exploring Monticello! Stumbled into this Humboldt thrift store and found a piece of home! Big sable lighthouse! It was cool to see there were a few lighthouses for sale here from our home state. Lots of different items to choose from and very reasonably priced. We were even able to donate some of our kids clothes here! Great little shop with lots of different items.
Many interesting things old and new.
Every time I go there it’s a Problem! Went in today to take a mini camcorder back. Because the charger didn’t go with it that The Old Lady gave Me last Friday. She changed Me 15$ for it!… She asked if I wanted a receipt, I said no… So I wanted a Simple Exchange today. The Women today told Me No! You’re not going to get anything! You’re Gonna Have To wait till Whenever You find who sold You the camcorder! All They see is Color. My Family says Stop Giving Them My Money. I Try To Support Local Businesses. Even if it is Only A Second Hand Store! But. Why treat People of Color like We Don’t Matter? Everywhere I’ve been in Monticello Florida I can feel the hair on My Neck Stand Up.. Why Do Y’all Hate Us?
Drove from Cairo Ga to come here on Saturday afternoon to look/shop. At 1:51pm there was a purple note on the door “Whe’re closed”..a lady came to the door while my husband and I stood outside and was mouthing to us and pointed to the sign…the one hanging to the side of the one that said they closed at 4pm today…even though the light up “Open” sign was on and flashing. The two women inside waited until we got back into our truck, came outside and left. No words spoken as to why they decided to just close more than 2 hours prior to their stated closing time. Disappointed and annoyed to be honest.
5. Antiques & Xtras
Address: 230 N Jefferson St, Monticello, FL 32344 , Monticello , Florida , United States
This place is amazing!! Their homemade pasta salad and salad dressings are delicious. The staff is fantastic (see pic with the French owner Jacque) I’ll definitely be back!
Grouper sandwich was very good
The food looks as good as it tastes. Soothing instrumental music and great service. Only complaint is that it is noisy due to other customers 🙂
The food was amazing and the service not so much. The server kept forgetting what k asked for. I never did get my salad dressing.. she also wasn’t friendly to the point of being rude
Very nice atmosphere and extremely friendly people. Food was served quickly and to order. Price was in line for the service and food.
Great little spot we usual hit up for breakfast when we’re in the area. Definitely a local hangout, but everyone is treated like family.
We drove 5 hours stopped in at 1:58 on Sunday and they wouldn’t serve us went straight thru Tallahassee to eat there and quite disappointed to be turned away hungry.
This is the worst place to go to get takeout food I was totally ripped off I ordered a Shrimp basket with a side of fried pickles. It cost almost $15 I had to walk and after arriving home I discovered that my order was missing fries. Owner argued with me and expected me to walk back there for my missing food. Food is soggy and looks like it was thrown in a small clump. One of the worst places that I have had the displeasure of eating. Save your self a trip and bypass this place. New female owner only tips off her clientele.
$15 The new female owner took my order over the phone and charged me for food I never received and proceeded to argue with me after
Owner needs to lay off the uppers. Not everyone wants to be treated to a weird freak show while they dine.
7. Monticello Opera House
Address: 185 W Washington St, Monticello, FL 32344 , Monticello , Florida , United States
World Champion Elvis Tribute Artist Cote Deonath brought us a spring concert for all 3 Eras of Elvis in one show. From the 1950s to the 68 Comeback Special To the Glitz and glamour of Las Vegas, we enjoyed watching and grooving to, what’s gonna happen next!
Full of history, just a gorgeous little gem in Monticello
We love it here!
Nice looking
Terrapin Station
It was really interesting. The play was great!
We had the downstairs view instead of upstairs. The seating was uncomfortable and they didn’t think that fans or air conditioning was needed. We ended up leaving after the 1st take. Cast did a good job.
Not always accomodating.
no opinion
8. Rev Cafe restaurant
Address: 180 S Jefferson St, Monticello, FL 32344 , Monticello , Florida , United States
Love this place ordered a chicken ceaer salad and it was excellent very good chicken was out of this world there other stuff like the vison burger was great too would highly recommend it to anyone will be coming back again
Very nice place, good atmosphere, friendly staff, they have buffalo on the menu so I got a buffalo burger that was so delicious. This is now on my top 5 favorite places to eat
Thought I didn’t like venison…I was wrong. Great food, great beer!
Good food… Loved the venison burger. Will definitely go back.
Food really good but expensive for our location
Went last night and ordered 3 burger/fry combos and 3 drinks to-go. The fries were cold, and the eggs on the burgers were supposed to be cooked over easy… they were fried solid. The food tasted good, but now one of the people who ate a burger has been vomiting all day.
If was ok
Waitress had an attitude. Burger was undercooked. Still undercooked after cook put it back on grill. Just couldn’t get it right.
I have been to the rev several times since they have been in Monticello for 2 or 3 years. Was not impressed the first time, then after a while tried again understanding they were a new restaurant. There was a slow incline but tonights experience made up mine and my husbands mind we will not be back. Like anyone else, we went with the intention of having a good meal after a long day of work. Unfortunately, our steak and shrimp tasted like microwaved food that had been sitting out for a while. Wasn’t even hot. Disappointing for having had spent so much money.
9. praise boogie
Address: 1565 E Washington St, Monticello, FL 32344 , Monticello , Florida , United States
Always uplifting, encouraging and fulfilling! Not only a fun way to get in shape physically, but also spiritually. I can come to class feeling down or discouraged and as soon as I start moving to the praise music, listening to the words of the music and praising, my attitude is completely changed and I feel motivated and encouraged. Also, being around other Christian women with the same goals is very uplifting!
I enjoy the praise boogie yoga, It does wonders for balance which we need as we get older. Doris is a great instructor
I have taken yoga classes on and off for over 30 some years. Doris is above and beyond my other teachers, you feel her commitment to your success and transformation from day one, she is a great teacher who explains the postures very clearly so that we get maximum results. Plus, we practice listening to beautiful Christian music interspersed with Doris’s great sense of humor and wisdom regarding how to take better care of ourselves. I know this is long winded BUT something any shorter would not describe the gift of Doris Bishop in my life through her most amazing yoga class!
