Bill and his crew have taken care of me and my family and my friends for YEARS. Prices are well within reach, whether your are looking for new, or gently used. I’ve taken banjos for repair, as well as amplifiers– again, repairs done in a timely manner and the price was extremely fair. Although I am nothing more than a customer, both Bill and Bob as well as Rachael and the others have always treated me like a king. I highly recommend this business. I can’t say enough good things about them!!
Today my grandfather and I went in to but an amp he was previously told cost $350ish. He was so excited to get it. He hadn’t played in forever. He had a gig about a week ago but that was it for a long time and he didn’t have an amp for it. Well we got there and he was told it would be $150. My granddad doesn’t show emotion that well. But he started crying!! He was sooooo happy!!! He’s said he’s known the owner of the shop for a long long time and said “he’s always taken care of me.” Anywho… Made my week. Was the sweetest thing I’ve seen in a while. Y’all deserve more than 5 stars but sadly that’s the max on here. He’s been playing non-stop since we got home and it’s 8:30
It’s guitars what’s not to love. Good folks here.
the staff is helpful. Just check the things out before you buy, the stuff is used so check it out and make sure it works the way you want it to work.
Interesting selection of mostly used gear. Friendly folks!
Bought a brand new acoustic guitar here after years of using this store for my musical needs. The guitar wasnt staying in tune and i noticed the intonation was a little off as well. I took it back 4 days later and they offered me 100 bucks for it. It was brand new and i spend 400 on it and bought a 150 dollar case as well. Thats not the way you treat repeat customers. I will never be returning to this store again.
Hate it I could not find a clarinet ,:(
Dropped a guitar off for the owner to look at. He told me over the phone he’d give $150 for it and only a few hours later when I came in to get the money he prints me a ticket off and hands me $100. I reminded him that wasn’t what we agreed on and all he said was “that’s all I can do unless you want me to undo the transaction”. Not good business in my opinion. He lost a customer over 50 bucks. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
And now he’s calling me a liar. This isn’t some story I made up when I was bored, it actually happened. Remember the guitar was dropped off so it could be appraised. I don’t enjoy writing bad reviews but this one was earned.
2. Arkansas Musicworks
Address: 2400 SE J St, Bentonville, AR 72712 , Naval , Arkansas , United States
Awesome experience with them. They went the extra mile! Thank you!
Excellent seller, have bought from before and will buy from again from Amazon or Ebay most of the time.
Great selection, knowledgeable staff, qualified repairman.
They carry a pretty good variety of brands. Good place to go if bored. Although they definitely need to change their drum policy, “You can only play the drums if you’re gonna buy them.” How is someone supposed to know if they want the drums unless they play them. You’ll just have to roll your dice I guess, not a good idea.
Good selection, kind of pricey. I had to wait nearly ten minutes to pay for guitar picks. There was only one staff person at the time I visited. I will still shop there, they are conveniently located on J street.
Guitarras, pianos, audio profesional, accesorios, clases de música y buenos precios.
They put my kid in their waiting list 3 months back. We tried to call instructor 3 times and left voice messages but no response ever. It is so unprofessional and we did not like it….
I bought a Zero Glide zero fret nut replacement through Amazon, but it was fulfilled and shipped by Arkansas Musicworks. I bought it 8/3/18. It is now 8/12 and there has been no shipment. Amazon emailed that the seller had not shipped within the time frame allotted and that I could cancel the order, follow up directly with Arkansas Musicworks, or whatever. I cancelled and will buy elsewhere. Never a peep out Arkansas Musicworks. Small item but they totally dropped the ball. Now I wouldn’t trust them for anything I need or am in a rush for.
I had a very unpleasant experince with this place. My daughter’s saxophone needed to be fixed, so I took it to this store. Well almost 7 weeks passed and they never called me. When I called them to see if it was ready, they said it was ready. I went to pick it up just to learn that it was not fixed. They were very unpolite the whole time. They said it was fixed when I knew it wasn’t and there was no receipt/details of the work they “did” to it. So they game me a number to call. So I called the number, which is the place who they work with to fix the instruments in Fayatteville. They said they had no record of our instrument. So basically they never sent my daughters saxophone to them and they never called me to let me know what was going on. I understand sometimes things happen, but they basically never accepted they made a mistake. I was very polite with them, eventhough I was not happy about this whole situation. I will not be going to this place again, or reccomend it to anybody. And by the way, one of the owners, who has blonde/reddish hair, is one of the most inpolite person I ever met. We’ve been going to this place for years and if he is there, we know it’s not going to be good. He is rude and has poor customer service skills.
3. Arkansas School Band Service Inc
Address: 508 Lillian, Benton, AR 72015 , Naval , Arkansas , United States
I had to get my son some items for his school instrument. I had no idea where to go, but was recommended to visit this place. They had all the items I needed for a good price, and even recommended better options that saved me some money.
These people are always so kind and helpful!
Great place
Very nice place
Lovely and very friendly staff. They are so welling and happy to help you with anything you need or may have questions about. Definitely recomend going here. Only reason didnt give them 5 stars, is some of the items/parts are pricey compared to online. But if you need it immediately or just cant find it online then go here. I’d also recommend comparing their price for what you need before making the decision. They have things on sale.
Very friendly staff!
The lady that works in here, is like you are bothering her when you come inside the store, like really? Anyways after coming back in to make a payment as my wife had forgotten to one time, she didn’t mind being nice once she knew she getting money. Flute is almost paid for, and will never come back if we need another item.
4. Quattlebaum Music Center
Address: 101 W Arch Ave, Searcy, AR 72143 , Naval , Arkansas , United States
Great inventory, prices ok. Customer service is not overly friendly.
The staff at Quattlebaum are helpful and knowledgeable and the prices are fair and competitive. Great hometown service!
Quattlebaums is a great store. Wonderful staff and great selection. I always take my guitars in to have them set up and they do the best job.
good music store
This is a long time local favorite. It’s a cool little music store. Good customer service. Has guitars, violin/fiddle, cello, bass, etc.
Went there today. He has some great deals and he does layaway 6 month layaway if needed
I’ve purchased things from here before, but today, I felt as though my business was not wanted. I took a violin in due to having issues tuning it and the bridge popping off. Was told what I need to do. Told them thank you and asked my daughter if she wanted to look around. Was told to have a nice day. Was not asked if I needed help with anything else. Employee just walked away
They are selling stolen property.
Very rude to my wife and all she did was ask a queston please don’t do business with these people we don’t need rude people in this town.
5. Palmer Violin Shop
Address: 1043 W Walnut St, Rogers, AR 72756 , Naval , Arkansas , United States
I got a cello for Christmas! Palmer’s could not have been more helpful to my nervous husband who was unsure of his gift and knew nothing about cellos! (Neither did I!) So courteous and helpful! Thank you!
very helpful and kind. explains everything clearly. calm and friendly atmosphere
Very professional and timely. Great shop! I’d recommend highly to all students and professionals alike.
I only logged on to ask if this music store sells or had violins for sale. Can anyone answer this for me ? This is the closest music store but also an hour away and I don’t want to drive there for no reason. So I’d appreciate if someone could give a response and lmk if they do have violins. If not then anything close to a violin such as a viola. Thank you. (:
Billing issues on return violin but was promptly corrected with great costumer service
Good rental prices
6. Renown Music
Address: 104 W F Ave, North Little Rock, AR 72116 , Naval , Arkansas , United States
I cannot endorse Brandon Toney and his company, Renown Music, enough. Brandon has provide exceptional guitar service including structural repairs, cosmetic repairs, setting of action and intonation, fretwork, and pickup replacements for all of my guitars. I trust Renown Music completely for my luthier and repair work as well as have my two kids in music lessons. We are lucky to have such a trained and accomplished luthier right here in North Little Rock.
The ONLY Guitar Luthier around I Intrust to work on my mid & high end guitars including my Gretsch White Falcon!! I have done business with Brandon for several years and his work is renowned in Central Arkansas. His work speaks for it’s self crazy talented a miracle maker in his craftsmanship. I mean literally pulling a Lazarus and resurrecting guitars back from the dead. I been excited since he opened shop in NLR at Renown Music. I would drive all the way to Conway to have him work on my babies. Brandon has not only worked on my price guitars I own but he also has been a music teacher who thought me how to better my craft, skills & techniques in becoming a better rhythm player motivating and pushing me to be a better musician and think out side the box. Highly recommend—H.W. Polio⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
First rate in service, knowledge and skill. I’ve been taking ukelele lessons since they opened and really enjoy it. Brandon is very patient and laid back while teaching, and that carries through to everyone else. Check them out!!
7. Shuffield Music Company
Address: 610 Main St, Arkadelphia, AR 71923 , Naval , Arkansas , United States
The people are friendly n courteous. It is a nice clean place
Very helpful service… friendly and honest
Great little shop. They have a little bit of everything and if they don’t have it they can get it. Plus extra kudos for giving us a discount for warning a mask!
Good for new strings but a small selection of equipment.
More of a piano shop. Only a few ele8 guitars, but those few were brands i wasnt familiar with, however they did all play great. And the price range was very fair.
Speaking of price, i believe they have to lowest priced guitar strings anywhere within 75 miles.
Good selection…
Not very much guitar stuff. Didn’t even have strap studs.
A few months ago, I visited Saied Music’s North Little Rock location to look into used flutes (online flutes are too hit-or-miss, I discovered, so I wanted to be able to try one before buying). Not wanting to spend a small fortune on an instrument I wasn’t sure I’d stick with, I figured used would be a safe bet.
The gentleman who was working that day showed me a Jupiter flute that had a price tag of $380 or $385 (I just distinctly remember it being in the $380 range). It had a head joint with a gold-plated lip plate that I found rather garish, but for the price, I was willing to consider it once I tried it and realized it played fairly easily. So, I went home to think on it, but I ultimately put off getting a flute for awhile.
Yesterday, I returned, and lo and behold, they had the same flute still in stock. However, this time a different guy brought it out, and the price had been removed, leaving only a partial green tag with some text on it. The man made a fairly loud show of talking to the other guy, who had originally showed it to me the first time I saw it, saying that, since it had a green tag, he could sell it for below the “book price.” He thumbed through a binder, ran his finger down a list of prices, and landed on $480. Then, he quoted me $450, saying that price was $30 below list.
I immediately thought of the scene in Legally Blonde when the clothing boutique worker pulls a tag off a dress from last season and tries to sell it to Elle for a huge mark-up, believing her to be too uninformed to know any better.
I closed the case without taking another look, then left the store without saying another word.
I lost all trust in Saied Music in that instant, and I will not return.
The absolute worst store ive ever been in will not be back
10. Guitar Center
Address: 160 E Joyce Blvd, Fayetteville, AR 72703 , Naval , Arkansas , United States
Great place with friendly staff. I went in looking for a guitar string. So many different sizes. Guy was a lot of help making sure I got the right one. We spent about a hour looking at all the guitars. I ran into two people I knew. We played on the guitars, drums and even the keyboards. Lots of fun with the whole family. I ended up buying more then I came in for but had a great time. Well worth the trip.
Amazing help and an excellent selection of items. It is low staffed (with quality staff). Sells more than just Guitar Items which was confusing
Decent prices for in store. Their employees are always helpful.
Pretty small compared to the other ones I have been to. Nothing really special inside, the only amps I saw were the used amps.
This place is a rip off scam artist they try to low-ball you on guitars worth 200 dollars and offer you 22 dollars.
Selection not great, witnessed a “protection plan” upsell that was really awkward. No Ibanez or Charvel models
Called a day a head of time to make sure they had item in stock Because I live an hour away got here and they don’t carry that item.
