3. Gamble Music
Address: 2401 S Leavitt St, Chicago, IL 60608 , Near South Side , Illinois , United States
Everything you need for sheet music storage, from high quality heavy duty boxes to file envelopes. Not really a walk in business, but the owner is available 24-7 to take orders on the phone and always courteous.
I have tried for several weeks to get in touch with Gamble. They are the worst music company I have ever dealt with. I have left several messages and written to them about our order. The school has already paid them and still NOTHING. They do not respond to any communication. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!!
Do not order from Gamble Music! I thought I found a product I liked and ordered it. The payment process was confusing, and it seemed that ‘check’ made the most sense. I thought they would send me to a page to submit an e-check. No, instead the order was fully submitted and they said they’d ship when my check was received. I immediately sent a communication to cancel my order. No response. Two weeks later, UPS sent my shipment. I refused it and sent it back. I sent more communications indicating I wanted to cancel my order. Two weeks later again, a small piece of my shipment arrived that I couldn’t intercept. It contained an invoice. They do not respond to emails. They provided an 800 number which is out of service. I went on google maps and found another, local, number. It is clearly a landline that is always kept off the hook so they don’t have to answer that phone either. This company is a fraud. Do not trust them at all!
I placed an order 2 months ago. Gamble has already processed my credit card payment but have not delivered my product. Nor will they communicate with me after three attempts on my part to find out the status of my order. This is bad business. Not sure what’s going on at Gamble, but I will not order from them again. Very disappointing.

Does anyone know if this place is still open and if yes what the hours are ? I’ve tried to come here several times at different days and hours when it should be open and is always closed. It looks like no reviews or posts on there face book site have been posted in 3 years.

My husband love the work make does on his saxophone
Always good service
Great place and very friendly. I’m definitely making this my to go shop.
Very nice, good pricing and repairs done in a very timely fashion.
Great neighborhood repair shop.
I went in to get repairs on my son’s saxophone. Jake was a nice guy, I thought the repairs were expensive.
I’M ADDING THIS FOR THE STORE TO RESPOND: THERE’S NO INDICATION THAT HOURS ARE “BY APPOINTMENT ONLY” UNTIL YOU DRIVE ACROSS TOWN. PLEASE FIX THIS. THANK YOU
Never got a call back. Guess they don’t want my money for repairing a clarinet v

They can get you anything, just ask! Great local service
The building and experience was nice, but when I went to find harmonica music there was not 1 sheet in the store. The website lists 114 harmonica books. The young man asked another colleague to make sure he wasn’t overlooking it, and he said “Yeah, I need to order some”. I realize harmonica may not be the core business, but it was disappointing

Wide selection and deep dives
awesome place!
Wide variety of music. A must see if you are into records
Old school for sure. Seemed a bit pricy. What interested me most was the extensive selection of cassettes and mixtapes. Looked like live shows radio rips etc. Wonderful sign out-front too.
Good store!! My dad would shop there!!

Great teachers who pleasantly teach almost any instrument by sight reading or ear. at reasonable prices! Full service Music store sells & teaches most instruments, band, wind, percussion string, violin, mandolin, guitar, ukulele, piano, sells parts, sheet music and fixes instruments, too! Great people to do business with. Both of my daughters there for 5+ years! Results are very good!
I’ve shopped at Rossi for sheet music to use with music students from elementary level through college. I always find the staff to be pleasant and helpful.
Rossi Music is an excellent store. The quality of the store’s inventory is top tier. They have a wide variety of beautiful instruments to choose from. The instructors at Rossi Music are down to earth and really know how to teach. I’ve made so much progress in learning the guitar! Rossi Music is a definite 10/10.
I visited this place for sheet music. The songs I wanted were found online and promptly printed for my purchase.
SUZAN M.O’Rourke wrote on 1/19/2019 I visited Rossi’s in the Fall of 2018 and looked at a variety of instruments but seems to have a shared phone number with Little Company of Mary Hospital aproximately 1 or 1.5 miles east on 95th street. Unfortunate use of a beautifil web site The store offers sheet music and new snd used rental /purchase of instruments.
My son was taking lessons and love it! I paid for his classes in advance and was told that I didn’t and was expected to repay for my son to continue lessons. Advice if you decide to use their service take your own calender and make sure a teacher sign off the day he gave lessons. This will help you keep up for when the teacher cancels for the days you paid for.
This place claims to offer guitar repairs. So i brought in a Gibson LP Custom that simply needed to be re-wired. The pickups were already installed all that was needed was to wire it up and solder it all together. A nice clean pallet to work with.
3 weeks in, I call and was told, We are waiting on parts! Ok? So i decided to buy a wiring kit offline for 100.00 and drop it off. Took me 1 day to get the parts, Took them 3 weeks and they were still waiting for wires and volume pots? Really?
So they had all brand new parts, wires, etc that i purchased myself. Once again, A nice clean slate to work with, Everything was brand new and clean, So wiring and soldering should have went smooth and looked good.
Another week later, I call and ask if its ready, Yeah! Come get it! So i guess they dont call people when instruments are ready for pickup?
I pick it up and bring it home, Plug it in and hear the worst noise ever.. The output of the pickups was all wrong. I have never heard a guitar sound this bad. I look inside and was shocked at the job!! Wires twisted together just hanging there. Soldering burnt thru the brand new pots! This was HORRIBLE!
I call him about it and he said, Oh well i plugged it in and the pickups had sound? Your kidding me right?
I could have brought it back for him to “fix” but after looking at what he did to a brand new wiring kit, Its best to keep guitars far far away from this guy. PLEASE if you have a guitar that is halfway decent and needs a setup, pickup swap or anything that requires a brain, Please take it elsewhere! This place is far from professional.
Bad customer service, dude with long hair gave me attitude and had a overall bad vibe
16. Reverse Trend Music
Address: 3722 S Indiana Ave, Chicago, IL 60653 , Near South Side , Illinois , United States
I have always enjoyed music. Mrs Hill is phenomenal. I refuse to accept instructions from anyone else. She is truly a blessing. I would recommend this class to anyone.
The Music Scene has been a great place for me to reacquaint myself to the piano. The atmosphere is friendly and very conducive to learning. Ms. Hill’s teaching style allows me to progress at my own pace. I’ve learned that it’s never to late to realize a past passion and would highly recommend The Music Scene.
The Music Scene and Ms. Hill have been a God sent experience for me after retirement!! Learning to play the piano has always been a dream for me and the Music Scene has provided me with the tools to realize that dream!! Ms. Hill is the best music teacher!! She allows you to learn at your own pace!! Most importantly, we are being taught how to read and play music correctly!! Many, many thanks to Ms. Hill and the Music Scene!!
19. Carl Becker & Son
Address: 410 S Michigan Ave #460, Chicago, IL 60605 , Near South Side , Illinois , United States
Carl Becker is the kind of man you want to deal with. He is a world renowned violin maker, yet he is down to earth and concerned for each person who visits his shop. Carl and Tim worked above that which would be expected to help us get the right violin for my daughter. We are grateful for their efforts and expertise that reveal why people shop here. You ought to visit and see for yourself.
2 Years after we purchased our violin, I still have a great respect for Carl Becker and the instruments produced by him and those he has worked with. My daughter is complemented everywhere we go about the tone and quality of the instrument the crafted.
Helpful, knowledgeable, and fair.
Came to Carl Becker & Son from out of town and was very impressed at their professionalism, kindness and quality of service. Customer service and communication exceeded my expectations for standard string instrument maintenance.
Caring customer service and great advice to find what is best when purchasing a string instrument.
20. Tommy’s Guitars & Trading Posts
Address: 2548 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60622 , Near South Side , Illinois , United States
Great collection of new and used guitars. Its kind of a tight quarters shop but not too bad. They have other accessories and I hear they have guitar lessons if you’re interested. Bought a used amp and I’m very pleased.
Rad music
Love this place. The staff doesn’t mess around, the guitar set ups are tight and reasonably priced, and it’s a gem in the neighborhood. Don’t sleep on this place!
Tommy’s was good first experience thanks. Also nice folk in second visit, but priced too high for my liking.
I was heading down Chicago Avenue and the cool outside display beckoned me to go inside. I don’t play the guitar, but I was impressed by their selection and the prices seemed fair. I was amazed by the taxidermy pieces and some of the other oddly juxtaposed objects. The guy wasn’t very friendly, but the adorable dog licked my leg – a real cutie!
Very distracted, but got what I needed.
worst experience rude owner/worker he clams to be the owner but don’t understand how he could be rude to the customer. likes to try and rip off customers gave one star because no stars were not an option would not recommend anyone here
Doesn’t follow their hours
The guy who helped me was really nice, but every single acoustic guitar i played had dead strings that seemingly hadn’t been changed for months. I think I would have walked out with a new guitar if I was actually able to play the instruments in their full capabilities. Dead strings can make a $3000 guitar sound and feel like a $200 guitar. Also most of the guitars were out of tune. Ironically, a young man came in while I was there asking for a job — he was turned down, but you should be hiring someone to restring your guitars and keep them in tune!! Cool store with nice selections and decent prices, but seems like they’re not too set on selling the guitars they have if that’s how they present their products
